Balance Sheet Active and passive side set up

My client wants the balance sheet as per Indian Standard that Left side Liabilities and Right side Assets how to do that please suggest.
Regards.

Hello Syed,
Thanks for the feedback. I am not quite familiar with the  Indian financial report template, however by my testing, it's possible to list the Liability first in the report and then Assets following. The prerequisite is to set the Liability to Active Group because the system will list the Accounts in Active Group first and this will not affect the amount of relative account. Please test through the above steps to see if this is what you want.

  • Document Splitting - Active and Passive

    Hi,
What is the difference between active and passive split?? Please explain with an example.
    Regards
    Satya

Active document splitting means document splitting basing on the Business Transaction/Transaction Variant assigned to the document type and the Item Category assigned to the GL account.  System determines and does the splitting of each line item in the document, basing on the configuration you have done.  You have control over active splitting.
Passive splitting is something that you do not have control over.  System takes the document splitting characteristics from the original document that it is referencing, for example, a reversal document that always references to the original document that is being reversed.  The configuration that you do does not affect passive splitting.
    See the following example.

  • PCA Balance Sheet Planning and reporting

    Hi All
After entering planning data for liabilities in PCA, the data does not show in the interactive report for balance sheet accounts. But if you drill down the data is there. Does anyone know why the total does not appear in the summarised position before drilling down? This is specifically for Liabilities.

    Hi Murali
I checked the Totals Records and Line Items using tx code KEE0. The system reports that they are in sync. I then used a different planning layout to enter the data and it is now populating the report at summary level. I checked the initial layout I used. It was a custom-made layout copied from a standard one and amended to allow the users to enter the data per period. The lead column is the account number which has the hierarchy and variable parameters set to on. The other columns are the individual periods from 1 to 12. It is also used to upload planning data from Excel. What could be wrong with the planning layout?

  • Productwise Balance Sheet & Profit and Loss account

    Dear All,
We have the unique scenario. We have the 5 plants and one product we are manufacturing this produect across all the 5 plants.
In future we are planning to mfg more products.
Request you to let me know how to get productwise balancesheet and profit and loss account.
    Regards,
    Bhadresh

Given the information, it appears that you deal with single projduct with a large value or may be heavy volume of just a single product. You could choose to activate Profit Center Accounting and design profit centers based on products (profit oriented).
Profit Center Accounting is account-based. That means, the values are updated in EC-PCA according to account. Consequently, you can reconcile the data here with that in Financial Accounting.
You can also take Balance Sheet separately for profit centers. You can build alternate hierarchies for other purposes of profit centers.

  • MetaData Repository with an active and passive Infrastructure Server

Are there documentation or has architected where there are 2 infrastructure servers running with OID, SSO, etc, one being passive and the other active connecting to a single repository on a DB server?
As a side note, the 2 infra servers would be tied to a DNS so if one should fail, the other should show active.
What were your major hurdles in this implementation?
Have you had to failover to the passive instance of the Inf server?
Any insight is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

You have more than one Oracle Release on the Server. hence more than one ORACLE_HOME.
Check which is your default ORACLE_HOME on the server and check which of the homes PERL5LIB environment variable is pointing from both command prompt and in Windows.
That could explain the funny bahaviour. If you change ORACLE_HOME, that could help.

  • Active and Passive FTP

    Hi
I want to setup an Passive FTP and an Active proxy service in Oracle Service Bus 10.3. What is the best way of doing this?
    Regards

    see support note 860423.1
Oracle Service Bus FTP transport is implemented to use passive mode in proxy services (inbound) and active mode in business services (outbound).
This behavior can be changed and OSB can be forced to use passive mode for both inbound and outbound FTP requests by applying a patch.

  • When is 'Clearing Balance Sheet' and 'Clearing Inc Stmt item' used?

    Hi,
In what circumstances, clearing balance sheet item and clearing inc stmt items are used. Commonly, it's used for balance carry forward task, where system recognized the net profit for the year (in PL) and current ytd profit (in BS).
i was trying to post the following entry via manual posting and system generated additional 2 lines:
    DR Sales 100
    CR AR 100
DR Clearing BS item 100 < System auto generated additional one line
CR Clearing PL item 100 < System auto generated additional one line
(The above entry is enter at posting level 01)
I was trying to post another  2 balance sheet items via manual posting at posting level 30. There was no additional 2 lines created.
    Please advise.
    Regards, Renee

    Rene,
In real life there are usually closing periods in enterprises, when accountant close their books. Closing partially means that all revenues/gains and expenses/costs are summed up, and net profit in income statement calculated. During this procedure accountants usually make closing entries. After that this calculated net profit is to be transferred to balance sheet, to the retained earnings of the current year item.
In SAP SEM-BCS there are no closing entries. Instead, the system monitors whether entries in P&L were made. The P&L hierarchy in BCS has the following structure:
    - one main node under which all revenues and expenses are gathered
    - clearing item located OUTSIDE the P&L main node (equals to net profit).
The amount on the clearing item equals the sum of all P&L items under main node, with the opposite sign. So, the sum of P&L items & clearing item is zero.
If the system detects postings to the items located under P&L main node, it recalculates the net profit and adjust the clearing item in P&L accordingly. Since net profit in P&L should correspond to the RE in B/S, the system adjust clearing item in B/S also. So, AT ANY MOMENT the B/S & P&L in the system correspond each other. The work of special/clearing items is like pseudoclosing.
That's the purpose of these clearing items. And as I said earlier  they has nothing to do with balance carryforward.
Resume: in case of postings to P&L, the net profit changes and the system adjusts net profit in P&L & B/S (adds two additional entries).
There is NO NET PROFIT CHANGE (and additional entries) when postings made in the balance sheet ONLY (as in your case). -- (As you know, there is almost no possibility to make postings to clearing item in B/S).

  • Drawers in Chart of Accounts - are they Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss?

We have a customer who is using a Chinese localisation Company database.
When they created the new database, they found that there are only 6 Drawers in the Chart of Accounts. This is different from other localisations where we have 8 Drawers.
We are trying to find out which Drawers are for the Balance Sheet Report and which Drawers are for the Profit and Loss Report.
In the other localisations, the first 3 Drawers are for the Balance Sheet Report and the Drawers 4 to 8 are for the Profit and Loss Report.
    Please can anyone help us.
    Thank you

    Thanks for the info.
There doesn't seem to be a Revenue or Turnover section. Is the Costs section like Cost of Sales or Overheads?
    What is the P&L section?
Do you have any contacts in SAP China who would be able to help further? I have not been able to get any info from the Local Product Expert listed in the Channel Partner Portal, even though I have sent several emails.
    Thanks

  • Differenciating between Balance Sheet and P&L Reports

    Hi,
From a SAP BI perspective, is it a right way to differenciate between Balance Sheet and P&L Reports based on Account Type ( IS- for P&L Reporting and BS- for balance sheet reporting).
    Thanks
    Rashmi.

If your General Ledger accounts, for the Chart of Accounts in use in your R3/ECC source environment, have the account type populated for each account as BS for Balance Sheet accounts and IS for Income Statement (P&L) accounts, then that should work for separating accounts for Balance Sheet and P&L reporting.
However, if this doesn't always hold true, another way you can do this is by using the XBILK (Indicator: Account is a balance sheet account?) field on SKA1 where X denotes a Balance Sheet account and blank denotes an Income Statement account.
Either way, you should validate with your FI Functional Consultant or FI business person to determine that your thought or the alternative I provided is correct. I say this because there may be reconciliation accounts that will are identified as Income Statement accounts, but the business doesn't want them to be reported (and in most cases they aren't reported - at least in my experiences).

  • Difference of balance in balance sheet report & Business area wise report

    Dear Group Members!!
In my company user wants to generate Business are wise Report
Difference of balance in balance sheet report & Business area wise report from same t code
Balances are different if enter business area, & if I execute the report with out entering any business area. Transaction code S_ALR_87012284 - Balance Sheet / Profit and Loss Statement.
The difference amount to be considered as data entry made with out using business area?
    How do  I rectify this?
Your comment will be helpful for me
    Shamulheq

    Hi Shamulheq
While working with business area you must first recognize that they are not company code dependent and can be used cross-company. Also depending  on the SAP release you are working with postings to Business Area may not 100% guarantee, since there are cases where rules or standard SAP is not available and line items posted  will be carried out without BA. For SAP releases not using the NEW GL, the setting up of adjustments accounts and monthly execution of adjustment programs would provide the vehicle to relate and adjust any missing BA at B/S and P/L level. If you are using NEW GL the document splitting would help to set the rules where every single line item would get a business area.
I assume that you are using the classic GL. The execution of T code S_ALR_87012284 - Balance Sheet / Profit and Loss Statement without business area retrieves all posting entered for any given company code regardless the account was posted with or without business area, this can be clearly displayed when you select the radio button for Classic Navigation. If you filter by Business Area, then the report will isolate the output data accordingly (The balances should be smaller). When using the classic GL you have to make sure that the financial statement version you use to execute the report,  includes that the technical (Adjustment accout) account(s) that is used for the adjustment programs, so the correction to buisness areas is also included.
In conlcusion I think you have to make all this considerations, in order to better understand where the differences come from.
    Hope this helps.

  • Balance sheet per plant via profit center

    Greetings!
Because of the reqt to create balance sheet reports per plant, I have assigned some of the balance sheet accounts as cost elements with CE category of 90.  I was able to do this to the asset accounts but when I tried to do the same for the other GL accounts e.g. AR, AP, etc..., its not being shown in the list when I clicked the "Create batch input session" although its already included in the "Make Default Settings" list.  Would appreciate any advice.  Thanks.

    Hi Tess Sapico,
    1. Create profit center for each Plant
    2. you don't have to create Cost Element with category 90.
    3. what you need to do is Add all the balance sheet items for Profit Center accounting in configuration under the setting "Controlling==>Profit Center Accounting==>Actual Posting==>Choose Additional Balance sheet and P&L Account"
Here you need to add all the balance sheet accounts and P&L account which are not cost elements.
Note: If you dont have NEW GL and Document Splitting, then it is not possible to get fullfledged Balance Sheet per Profit Center (Plant wise in you case).  You can only get some of the Balance sheet items like Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, Fixed Assets and Inventory in to Profit center
In anycase, if you have NEW GL in implementation, then your problem would be solved.
I can give soem more information this regard, if you have new gl in place.
    Please let me know
    Best Regards
    Surya
