Bank Recon Diff

Hi experts,
I have completed the reconciliation by using below path
Banking --> Bank Statement and External Reconciliation--> Manual Reconciliation and difference in there is 0.
However when I run below report from
Banking --> Bank Statement and External Reconciliation--> External Reconciliation
there seems to be some difference between reconciled amount and uncleared transaction
Balance as per Bank   3441014.38
Balance as per books -2866269.38
                                   574745.00
                                 -510498.00
                                   64217.00
The diff of 574745.00 should be sum of uncleared transactions however the difference between Dr and Cr  uncleared transactions is 510498.00
I am unable to find how the difference is present as in Manual reconciliation option I have completed the reconciliation.
While running above report from Banking --> Bank Statement and External Reconciliation--> External Reconciliation I have used below setting from printer settings
Print reconciliation = ticked
New and old reconciliation = ticked and here inputted reconciliation statement no.
unreconciled transactions = ticked
Detailed total for external reconciliations = ticked
Please advise.
Thanks
Deepak

Hi,
I am afraid you need create your own report for this. There may not have system report meet all you need if you use a older version.

  • Bank Recons : Chq number column

    Hello Experts,
For Manual Bank Reconciliation Statement, while inputting statement, i cannot view chq number to be assigned, instead i can just view document number.
i have activated chq lot management & have assigned to the payment documents.
    please help

    Hello Dear
Kindly check the process again, may be you are missing something :
    As per my understanding :
You have created manual check through FCH5 and assigned to payment document
then through FCHU you updated the Assigment field in Chq Issue A/c
Is your check no. can be seen through FCHN ?????
You have assigned the Int.algorithm 015 to the transaction in OT52
Insert Bank Reference field in the variant you created in OT43
choose the variant and put in chq no. in the Bank Ref. field for posting Bank Recon. A/c
Now if you look at the document posted by FF67, the main bank A/c will contain chq no. in assignment field
Process your transactions once again, after checking the above settings
    Hope it Helps
    Cheers

  • Bank recon for a All currency account

    Hi Experts
We have a USD bank account that the currency was set to "USD" - we perfomed many external bank reconcilations on this account.
Now we changed the currency on the account to "All currency" . When we try to perform a bank rec, the last balance field gives the USD balance as AUD
How can we get around this?
    Thanks
    Wendy
Edited by: Wendy Jansz on Jun 8, 2011 8:43 AM

    Hi Gordon
    Thank you for your response
My issue is, when the account was USD the ending balance in the bank recon was USD 390,367.38. Now that the account is in all currency, the ending balance should show the converted value of USD 390,367.38 in AUD.
But, it shows AUD 390,367.38 - without conversion. So this doesnt balance with the bank statement.
    Any ideas?

  • Manual Bank recon. scenarios

    Dear All,
I have done the manual bank reconciliation config. but facing one issue i.e. i want to know what about those entries which are coming in the bank statement but are not entered in SAP.
I want to know about the treatment of following scenarios in SAP i.e. how will we map it into SAP in manual bank recon.:
    1. Cheque issued by customer & credited in bank directly but not accounted by us.
    2. Payment made through bank by using electronic payment facility like making of e-tds payment.
    3. Excess Bank charges credited by bank at the month end.
    Kindly give your inputs asap.

    Hai Anuj,
    I understood u r query,
I have solution for this ,
    your questions
    1. Cheque issued by customer & credited in bank directly but not accounted by us
Answer- For this customer himself sends one cheque receipt, that he is presenting check in bank, for that we will post one clearning entry for that customer, after when we receive the bank if that amount is cleared with that check number, than we clear that entry with Manual bank reconcilation process
    2. Payment made through bank by using electronic payment facility like making of e-tds payment.
Answe- Making e-tds payment directly from bank, is not possible without any proper reports, with the help of that reports, we will post that entrie manually in the SAP system as a clearing entries, after when we receive the bank statement, than we will clear these entries using Manual Bank reconcilation.
    3. Excess Bank charges credited by bank at the month end.
Answer- This is very clear, how means the bank is crediting bank charges at the month end, this will identify when we receive the bank statement, on that day we will post manual entrie to bank and clear that entries using manual bank reconcilation process.
I think this information will help you

  • Changing the bank recon setup

    Hi,
we have to change one of the Account symbol and asociated account for the posting rules for electronic bank statements.
what other places do I need to make changes along with this..?
do routing to a different account affects the auto reconciliation..?
I would like to understand how the auto recon works in SAP..? after we set up all configurations like trans. types, posting rules, external transaction codes etc..
when we process the AUSZUG1 and UMSATZ1 files what all processes happens ?
    thanks & reagrds

    Hello,
    Have you completed the configuration.
    Please follow the following steps:
IMG => Financial Accounting => Bank Accounting > Business Transactions => Payment Transactions => Manual Bank Statement
Create and Assign Business Transactions: Here you give your external ID provided by the Bank, is it a plus or minus to your bank account, posting rule and Text. (Make sure before you have posting rules in place)
Define Bank Keys and Posting rules for your Manual Bank Statement: Give your chart of account.
    1. Create Accounts Symbols (Freely definable)
    2. Assign Accounts to Accounts symbols (Account symbol / Account modifier, normally +, your currency, masking rule of the GL account)
Hope you are familiar with Masking rule. Means, if you have bank main account ending with 0, for example 180000, cheque outgoing with 180001 and check incoming with 180002, then outgoing symbols you need to maintain +++++0 and for incoming symbols you need to maintain +++++0, by which your sub account and main account gets linked when you upload bank statement.
    3. Create Posting Keys - Freely definable
    4. Define posting rules - Most important, based on which your postings get happened.
Posting Rule, Posting area, Posting Key, Account Dr, Posting Key, Account Cr, Document Type, Posting Type.
The most important things are posting area, document type and posting type.
Posting area 1 - means that it gets posted to GL Accounting Posting area 2 means it get posted to Bank Sub Ledger Accounting
Document Type: this is important when you are posting to posting area 2, use KZ for vendors and DZ for customers, when using posting area 1, use normal document types or customized document type like ZR.
Drop down Posting Type: Configure based on your requirement. 1, 2, 3 is for posting 4,5,7,8 for clearing and 8 is for reset & reverse clear.
Hope this is useful to you.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • Manual Bank Recon.  Inspite of Wrong check no. & amount status in ff67 show

    Hi All,
In the manual bank reconciliation, i have entered the bank statement in ff67.  In two cases the check number entered was 00017 instead of 000017 and secondly instead of entering INR 790, it was entered INR970.  Check nos are entered in the payment transaction F-58 in the assignment field.  Interpretation algorithm maintained for outgoing payment is 015 (clearing transaction: selection using assignment.)  Once all the entries are entered in ff67 and saved the status shows as posted even for the wrong checks and amount for the above mentioned transaction.  When the batch session is run the amount is not transferred from the outgoing bank account to the main bank account.
When i run transaction code feban with all the details like statement no., date, etc.  the specific statement is displayed on the screen and all the items cleared and uncleared are marked as green.  Can anyone guide me in this scenario and tell me inspite of wrong check and amount why it is showing as posted in ff67 and marked as green in feban.  when it is not cleared from outgoing bank account to main account.
    rgds
    mrs

Hi I also faced the similar issue and fixed it using setting->specifications-> processing type -> set this to 4  in FF67 screen for that particular ID.
the reason is it will be set to something else, and would be submitting the batch job in SM35 for batch job processing.

  • EBS Program RFEBKA00 Bank KEy in House Bank is diff.from ABA in BAI file

REceiveing an error that the bank key and account number not found in table T012, T012k.
The HB was created using one ABA as the Bank Key, the ABA necessary for proper u201Cchecku201D creation.
In the HB config, we set the Bank Receiving DME with the ABA needed for the ACH file, which is different from the Check ABA.
I searched everywhere, and found only one viable solution: create a pre-processor to change the ABA in the file to be the one that will match the entries on table T012 and T012k.
I tried putting data in the Alternative Account number with the ABA and the Account number, but it didnu2019t resolve the issue.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Kath,
Having one Bank account using 2 different ABA should not be a problem technically, if you are creating 2 different house banks for the 2 ABAs.
My question is if the ABA number entered in the field "Bank Receiving the Data Medium" is actually responsible for Paying the
ACHs, then this field is not the right place to enter ABA. You must create a new house bank with the ABA number and may be the same account number for ACH, and leave this field "Bank Receiving the Data Medium" empty. And please complete the rest of the Payment run config for this New house Bank i.e. Bank Determination.
If you still have issues, please check if the account number provided by the Bank in the Bank Statement doesn't have a leading zero or prefix before the actual bank account. If there are leading zeros, then please change the account number accordingly in the House Bank and EBS config. Or if there is a prefix, which is sometimes used for foreign payments coming out of the same Bank account. Then you can enter the same bank account number along with prefix in the Alternative Account number field
    Thanks

  • Deriving the profit center / segment during Bank Reconciliation

    Hi SDN,
One of our requirements is to generate a Financial Statement by Segments.
For this reason, we also need to derive / tag our Bank Reconciliation documents (Manual and Electronic) to the corresponding profit centers or segments. The problem though is that during FF67 or FF_5, there's no way we can enter these data.
At the same time, we can't set a default profit center via FAGL3KEH since these bank accounts may be used for multiple profit centers and not defaulted to one only.
My question now is, can we use the document splitting functionality so that we can "inherit" the profit center / segment from the payment document during bank recon?
To give you an idea here's a sample flow of what we wanted.
Customer Invoice (GL view)      - OK in the system
Dr  Accounts Receivable  (profit center 1) *inherited
Cr  Revenue Account (profit center 1)
Incoming Payment (GL view)     - OK in the system
Dr Incoming Clearing (profit center 1)
Cr Accounts Receivable (profit center 1)
    Bank Reconciliation
Dr Main Bank             (profit center 1)
Cr Incoming Clearing (profit center 1)
Currently, system does not inherit the bank reconciliation document to the right profit center. Is there any way we can do this in the system?
    Thanks

    Dear,
During bank Reco system inherit the Profit Center from the document which it is clearing. There is no need to maintain Default the same in FAGL3KEH.
Please activate splitting at Profit Center level.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Electronic Bank statement

    Hi,
We are planning to use F110 transaction to generate the automatic payment advice(with payment orders) and it will be sent to Bank.Once the payment is made,I understand that the Bank will send the electronic Bank statement based on which we can clear  the vendor open items. We like to simulate the clearing process based on the electronic Bank statement.
Can any of the forum members provide a sample electronic bank statement. It will help us is understanding the clearing process.
    Thanks in millions,
    Leo

    hi
i have seen your posting at forum in service.sap.com REGARDING ELECTRONIC BANK RECONCILATION.
In the reply you made regarding EBR you have mentioned about two options for f110. Actually our banker requires a unique identifier for eact electronic transaction. i have configured DME and getting text file for each APP run. however i was wondering how clearing will be done while receiving advice at day end and statement at month end.
Your reply seems to match my comapanies scenario however you are requested to more clarify about your forum reply.
    what is option no. 2
2- Close Vendor and post to an Out of balance sheet account. When receiving bank statement you have to post to this Out of balance sheet account(which is then closed) and bank account. In this way you have a clear picture for your bank accounts.
How setting of this is done. R u talking about payment order.
what is account gour of Out of balance sheet account.
what is entry passed when you do app run.
what is the way to do bank recon and payment advice upload.
    thanks

    Hi,
Can any one explain the reason for the below issue in my Bank Accounting?
when check is cleared using FCHR, Check Amount is not moving From Bank Sub A/c (Checks Issued A/c ) to Bank Main A/c.
Check Amount is clearing and posting to same Bank Sub A/c. I have checked all the setings are fine (Posting Rules also fine).
    Thanks
    Chandra

    Hi Chandra,
Thats right. You would anyways do a bank recon at which point these are moved into the bank main account.

  • Bank reconciliation for Fund transfer

    Hi,
Client have many bank accounts. He transfer fund from all banks at different places to its corporate bank account on daily basis (once in a day). In this case bank statement shows only reference as transferred to "XXXX bank account" for all transfers.
How to treate this in bank reco. What should we enter in Assignment filed in document and reference field in manual bank statment to reconcile it properly.
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Harshal

    Hi Harsh,
In Bank recon fund transfer when we used to post a document PK-40 and PK-50 for this the GL accounts for Banks(40&50) we need to give and In Reference area-(Just mention-Fund transfer) and Assignment area-(F.T-HDFC to Axis) and in Text area (Fund Transfer from HDFC to other Banks-IT is for first Line item for other banks based on GL a/c for that gl text as F.T from HDFC to Axis).
    I think this is enough.

How can we maintain ABA no for a House bank?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I think we can give this number in Bank number field in control tab while creating house bank(FI12).

  • House Bank Configuration/ Assignment

    Hi All ,
I need information on House Bank Configuration/ Assignment with respect to business area. Its very urgent.....
    regards
    PSNG

Bank that your company used for banking purposes.
It is also the first step for configuring your Account Payable Modules.
    FI12 - Configure House Bank
    House Banks
First Step: We first create House Banks. These are the banks for
your clients. Your client uses these for its banking transactions. One House Bank can have multiple bank accounts assigned
    to it.
During the implementation one can try to rationalize both, the Banks and the Accounts.
    A House Bank has
a Unique Bank Key. Bank Keys differ by each country's norms. The US Bank Key is called ABA (American Banking Association)
number. Normally each House Bank can have its own Company Code. In some cases, where the Banks use a different ABA key for
paper Transactions and a different one for Electronic Transactions, you Create Two House Banks instead of one for One
Physical Bank. Also, Two Bank Accounts will be created for a Single GL Account.
    T-Code: FI12
    Menu Path:
Financial Accounting > General Ledger Accounting > Bank-Related Accounting > Bank Accounts > Define House Banks
    Config
    Steps:
A House Bank is tied to a Company Code and each Bank Account is tied to a House Bank. So first we Select the
Company Code for which the House Bank is to be created.
The Create Bank icon is clicked and it brings up a pop up for
House Bank Identifier and House Bank Country. House Bank ID is a number decided by you. You can specify a number based on
    your numbering conventions.
The Next screen requires entry of the Bank Key - the ABA number is the House Bank country
selected was US. On this screen you also enter the House Bank Address data as well Control Data - comprising of SWIFT COde,
    Bank Group and Bank Number.
Once the House Bank data has been entered and filled up, you click on Bank Accounts and
you are taken to the screen to configure the Bank Accounts. On the Next screen click on the "Create Acct" icon.
    A pop
up comes up where you enter the House Bank Identifier in your system as well as the Bank Account identifier in your system
along with a text description. Once this is done, we get to the main screen where we enter the following
    data:
Bank Account: The Bank Account given BY the Bank.
Altern. Acct No.: This field is used when two
accounts at the same bank use the same account number. This situation may arise when the bank manages the accounts in two
different currencies. This field has a different number than the Bank Account field.
    Currency: This is the
currency in which the account is managed.
Control Key: For US Banks, this is used to identify whether the account
is a Checking or Savings account. The key is 01 for Checking and 02 for Savings. The Default value is checking account if
    nothing is specified.
GL Account: Each Bank Account is assigned to a GL Account Number. The Bank Account updates
    the GL Account entered here.
Discount Account: If the company uses the Bill of Exchange facility then we enter the
Cash Discount Account for Credit Memo Postings that this Bank Account should update.
    Bank Account
    Structure
It is important to have the right structure for Bank Accounts, GL Accounts and the Clearing
    Accounts.
It is important to know how much of:
    Confirmed Cash,
    Floating Cash out, and
    Floating Cash
    in
is available for the company on a particular day.
There should be Only One Confirmed Cash GL Account with many
Bank Clearing Accounts. So, the Checks Outgoing Clearing, Wire Outgoing, ACH Out, and Deposits clearing need to be set up
for each Bank Account. It is also important to leave room for additional clearing accounts that may be needed in future.
For this, we may have a range of 10 GL Accounts for each Bank Account. The numbering, for example, can have the GL Account
ending with 0 for each Confirmed Cash Balance (eg: 110000); each deposit clearing account will end up with a 1 (110001); each
outgoing check clearing account will end with a 2. each outgoing ACH account will end with a 3 and each outgoing wire
account may end up with a 4.
Check Lots and Void Reason Codes
The final step in configuring of the AP Bank
Account is to assign it to a check lot.
    Check Lots
If the company has a MICR printer then a blank
check lot can be used for Payables. The check lot determines the check number that is used on payments.
    The first
step is to bring up the "Check Lots" screen.
    T-code: FCHI
    Menu Path: Financial Accounting >
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable > Business transactions > Automatic Outgoing Payments > Payment media > Check
Management > Define Number Ranges for Checks
On the main screen you need to fill up Company Code, House Bank number,
and the Account ID for which the checks are being created (?)
After saving the information click on "Change Status"
icon. This takes you to "Maintain Check Lots" screen. Most of the information will come filled up. You can enter the From
    and To check Numbers.
To create a new check lot and assign it to the account, you can click on the "Create" icon. In
the pop up enter the Lot number identifier and he range of the check numbers and also the next lot number if
    needed.
    Void Reason Codes
In SAP, it is not possible to void a check without a valid reason code. We
can have any number of Void Reason codes. There should be at least one Void reason Code configured in the
    system.
    T-code: FCHV
Menu Path: Financial Accounting > Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable > Business
Transactions > Automatic Outgoing Payments > Payment media > Check Management > Define Void Reason Codes.
    Three Void
reason Codes come pre-configured - 1, 2, and 3. They deal with the problems encountered with the printers. There are
indicators to be assigned which define whether the Reason Code is due to Manual or Print program. Any codes created by the
    users are only assigned Manual.
    Payment Program Configuration
This step determines how to process
the payment transactions in the system.
The Payment Program is a series of steps within one Program.
    The
configuration occurs in table T042 and other variations of table T042 that end in a letter.
    T-Code:
    FBZP
Menu Path: Financial Accounting > Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable > Business Transactions > Outgoing
Payments > Automatic Outgoing Payments > Payment Method/Bank Selection > Configure Payment Program
    assign points if useful
