Barcode code 128 scanning problem

Hi,
I am using a code 128 type barcode in smartforms and
currently I am working on ECC 6.0.
  Bar Code Symbology   Code 128
  Bar Code Alignment   Normal
  Narrow Module Width  09
  Linear Height        00130
  Code128 Mode:        A
  Bar Code Symbology   Code 128
Bar Code Alignment   Normal
Narrow Module Width  09
Linear Height        00300
Code128 Mode:        A
But scanner is unable to read the barcodes eventhough i tried playing with the width and height of barcode.
Pls. let me know how to fix this issue.
Thanks.

Hi,
I have a similar setup. I'm having problem with the width of the barcode. Even if the setup is 1 cm height and 4cm. In preview it is showing correctly but once it is printed the width is only 2.3 cm.
Any idea what is wrong?

  • Barcode CODE 128 with large number (being rounded?) (BI / XML Publisher 5.6.3)

After by applying Patch 9440398 as per Oracle's Doc ID 1072226.1, I have successfully created a CODE 128 barcode.
But I am having an issue when creating a barcode whose value is a large number. Specifically, a number larger than around 16 or so digits.
    Here's my situation...
In my RTF template I am encoding a barcode for the number 420917229102808239800004365998 as follows:
    <?format-barcode:420917229102808239800004365998;'code128c'?>
I then run the report and a PDF is generated with the barcode. Everything looks great so far.
But when I scan the barcode, this is the value I am reading (tried it with several different scanner types):
    420917229102808300000000000000
    So:
         Value I was expecting:     420917229102808239800004365998
         Value I actually got:         420917229102808300000000000000
It seems as if the number is getting rounded at the 16th digit (or so, it varies depending of the value I use).
I have tried several examples and all seem to do the same.  But anything with 15 digits or less seems to works perfectly.
    Any ideas?
    Manny

    Yes, I have.
But I have found the cause now.
When working with parameters coming in from the concurrent manager, all the parameters define in the concurrent program in EBS need to be in the same case (upper, lower) as they have been defined in the data template.
Once I changed all to be the same case, it worked.
    thanks for the effort.
    regards
    Ronny

  • Code 128 barcode

I'm trying to print code 128 barcodes on hp 4300 or hp 5550, but the start and stop character are not printing, therefore they cannot be scanned.
I'm using chr(204) for start and chr(206) for stop and the mod 103 checksum is included. I have also tried chr(136) for start, chr(138) for stop,
chr(94) start chr(96) stop, and chr(124) start chr(126) stop. The scanner is able to read code 128 barcodes generated from another source.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi kcbemssr,
I don't know weather you can see this reply, but i still want to say something about this.
Did you used another type of code 128?
you can try this. and here is a site i recommand you, it's all about barcode, you can get code 128

  • Code 128 Barcode printed from Application Express

    Hi,
My colleague and I have written a procedure to generate Code128 Barcodes. These appear fine on the screen within Application Express 3. But when we export the file as an RTF or PDF document to our BI_Publisher server running under LINUX RedHat the Barcodes are greyed out and cannot be seen.
Anyone any ideas on how to solve this? It is extremely irritating only to be able to offer our users the ability to print the Application Express page off rather than a proper document.
    Thanks

  • Weird Character in Code 128 Codeset B Barcode

    Hello Everyone,
I am encoutering two issues dealing with barcodes in Crystal Reports 2008:
I have an old Seagate Crystal Reports 7 report that uses Code 128 Codeset B barcodes.  I have converted the report to Crystal Reports 2008 and have tried using the new built-in 'Change to Barcode' function and the old BarcodeC128B() function that the old report used to create the barcode. The barcode is set to use font 'Code128'.  However, in both instances, and when I start fresh with the built-in function in a blank report, strange characters are appended to the end of the barcode.  Most of the characters are capital A's with different accent marks over the character, and sometimes they are capital E's with accent marks.  These barcodes do not match the barcodes that are generated out of the old version of the report.  Unfortunately, I do not have a scanner to test to see if they are working the same, but my instinct says they would not work with these extra characters.
My next issue occurs when I export the report output to Microsoft Word.  The barcodes seem to change, i.e. they become smaller and the weird character on the end changes.  When I export report output from the old version of the Crystal Report to Word, the barcodes do not change.  Has anyone else experienced issues exporting barcodes to Word from Crystal Reports 2008?  I am using Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.3.5.925.  Thank you for your help.

    Hi Brian,
I'm not convinced yet that it's the code set.  I am using Microsoft Server 2008 R2, and the fonts have been copied to the fonts folder just as I have done on every other platform where I have needed to produce or view the UPCs.  I have copied a file with UPCs that were generated correctly from Crystal Reports 8 over to the server and the UPCs are displayed correctly, which tells me the font is working on the server.
I have contacted Azalea's technical support twice but I have gotten no response.  Has anyone else had a similar issue?

  • Unable to view Code 128 Barcode Font

I have Acrobat Reader v8.1.2 running on a Windows XP machine. I have a Code 128 Barcode True Type font which is used to display the barcode data. I am using Cognos to generate some report and in this report I have column which shows the Code 128 barcode font. When I view the report via Cognos, I am able to see the barcode. However, when I view the same report in Acrobat Reader I am unable able to view the barcode. Cognos has an option where I can view the existing report in PDF format.
Is there any setting in Acrobat that we need set in order to get this Code 128 font working?

That font allows embedding and it works for me with a PDF created with Acrobat with the font embedded. If you could post a sample PDF somewhere, someone might be able to tell you what's wrong.

    Christy,
what is the operation system you are running JDeveloper on ?
To further debug the problem, can you open a command line at <Jdeveloper Directory>\j2ee\home
    (assuming Windows) type
    ..\..\jdk\bin\java oc4j.jar
provide an administration password when asked. This command starts the embedded OC4J as a stand-alone server and prints messages to the console window
Let us know if this gives more detailed error messages or if it starts up

  • "process exited with exit code 128"

I have a problem. I downloaded the new Jdeveloper 10.3.1. When a try to
run a class i always receive the error: "process exited with exit code
128". The compilation is correct. My OS is Win2003 server SP1, I
tried in a pc with the same OS and it doesn't work correctly.
    Someone has got an idea?

I have the same "process exited with exit code 128" in my Win 2003 server environment running AMD 64 processor. My Win 2000 server setting runs okay.
I can work that around by changing the Virtual Machine setting. Select anything other then 'ojvm' with run ok. I guess, the Oracle custom add-on is not working properly.
    Follow this path to change.
    goto Project properties->Run/Debug
->select your run configuration (Default if you have no others)
-> change 'Virtual Machine:' to server, client, or hotspot.
ojvm is the only virtual machine that doesn't work.
There is one catch, however, by making this change code coach, and all other profiling tools will not run.

  • Nasty Bug: Windows exit code 128

    Hi.
I'm having weird exit code 128 bugs. It's apparently caused by my printing engine. Sometimes the problem occurs sometimes it doesn't. There isn't any exceptions thrown also. I'm using the java.awt.print API with a MediaTracker for tracking PNG images generated from my application.
Does anyone know what's happening to my program?

Found the problem. It doesn't occur anywhere in the JVM -- it occurs because I printed using Virtual PDF Printer and somehow it doesn't emulate a physical printer well.

Has anyone encountered this before?  I've searched all over, but have not located anything that is not allowing the Name Server to start.  I would appreciate any suggestions to help track down this problem.  Thanks.

    Hi Jones,
It turns out my issue was related to security on the Windows drive in question.  I installed the TREX main directory on the E drive of the server and simply added the "Users" group to that drive to fix my problem.  I'm pretty sure that the service user SAPService<SID> was having access permission issues until I added the group to the security settings of the drive.

--> Or else, you could do it in a more manual fashion. Condition records are required in this case also, when the event happen(eg : when Packing done in Delivery ), SAP creates a flat file, and save it in the destined folder.  Then, a person manually login to the Label software, select the particular label and the flatfile from which data should flow..and click print... In this case also, no sap script, no standard text...
It is your job to find, which approach your company is using...This is the way Bartender, Label shop Pro (Intermec Printers design tool ), Auto Label (autobag printers design tool )  etc work. Disclaimer  : i have never worked on either SATO or Label Gallery.
    Now about Label Design..
    1. You create a label using your label design tool. (it is just like Visual basic or even our dear SAP's screen design tool.)
    2. you can drag and drop the barcodes, text containers, variable fields etc. For eg, if you have something like
    Customer Part  Number :  |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
                                                       PRN ZYZSDFGH
--> drag a text field : write Customer Part number in that.
--> drag a barcode field. when you place a barcode field, you will have option to select whether code 128 or data matrix of whatever the standard you need. also in the properties box of the bar code, you can select, where do you want to print the human readable form of partnumber. (whether on top of barcode, center or below the barcode).
    3. Save the label. there should be a provision on the label design tool, to convert this label into ITF format. do that. now we have for eg, barcode_label1. ITF.
    4. go to SO10 in SAP.  give name zbarcode_label and hit create. From Menu> Text> Upload--> select radio button ITF. then browse in your system for barcode_label1.ITF.  save the standard text. here is a sample of a standard text.

  • 2D barcode scanners for scanning

    HI  Guru's
Has anyone has used 2D barcode scanner for scanning serial numbers into SAP B1 System.  We want to use 2D barcode scanner so that we can scan it fastly. Can someone help us out.

    Hi,
Having a 2D or a barcode scanner does not make any difference on the level of the interface to the pc.
Take a hand scanners which is able to operate as a Keyboard-Wedge. These may have an "Y" cable, with is a socket for your keyboard on one end and the other one a plug to go in the keyboard socket (PS2) on the PC. It is available also with an USB interface.
Your PC will not even know whether the characters are coming from you keyboard or from the reader. The type we are using is a Leuze IT 4600 (http://www.leuze.com/products/log/2d02_en.html), but any other type with keyboard-wedge funcionality would do the job.
You should note that reading a 2D code will not be faster than reading a barcode. The difference is in the code density, you will need less place for a 2D code than for a barcode.

  • Code 128 Font included with Crystal Reports?

We are currently running Crystal Reports v11.5. We are attempting to print out work orders through Sage Mas 500 software, which uses Crystal Reports to print out the documents. I was under the impression that Crystal Reports came with the barcode font Code 128.
My question is, did it indeed come with a font for Code 128 in order to generate barcodes? And if so, where can I find this font located at to install (Perhaps an option I'm overlooking during the install or the Program Files after the install)?
    Thanks,
    Jason
