Barcode to be centered alligned in Adobe forms

Hi,
I am working on Adobe form, I am using barcode 3 of 9 for material code, material code can be of variable length, can bar code be center alligned.

This is an old post, but I have found a solution that may be useful for anyone searching in the future. Sanoosh is correct that the datalength is only 1/2 of the solution--it is also required to adjust the width of the barcode object. If you put it centered aligned in a flowed sub-form, you can add this FormCalc code in the form:ready event of the barcode object:
var strLen = Len($.rawValue)
var width = strLen * 0.25 //<---set according to the width that you want per character
$.setAttribute(width, "w")
$.ui.#barcode.dataLength = strLen

Adobe Forms Barcode Issue

Hi All,
I have an issue with barcode in my adobe form ( ASN Delivery Note - SNC ) When printing line items ( in table loop), I want to print barcode for the Product ID and Qty Field below the actual field value.
So I have modified the form and added the two barcodes and given the same binding as the two fields. The barcode does appear on the form, however when I scan the barcode its printing the default value which is incorrect, especially I have given the same binding value.
I am using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.1 The fields are in a subform and is positioned.
I have also used the same barcode top of the form (static data) and that is printing the correct value, when scanned.
Any help would be appreciated.

As per my experience, a variable can be binded to only one screen element. If you bind the same variable to multiple screen elements it will not give corect value.
When I faced this problem, I took a temp. variable and copied the original value to that temp. variable and binded the temp. variable to other screen element.

Barcode BC_CD39 not found for Adobe forms

Hi All,
There is a BARCODE format BC_CD39 that we use in SAP Script for printing barcodes.
In Adobe forms, BARCODES are classified on their technical bar code names. following link is the reference to the same.

The corresponding technical Bar Code name for BC_CD39 is Code 39. But we are not able to see that in the Adobe Layout designer.
Is there an alternative to this. We need to replicate excatly what is there in SAP Script(BC_CD39).

Or
We Can download the barcode definitions from SAP (i.e. from SE73) and upload to the location you as i mentioned in the path.

Barcode printing in ADOBE form when data and Barcode are in different pages

How to send raw value to the Barcode when data values are availabe in Master page and Barcode in the Design page.
Barcode needs to print once on the first page, so it is on Designer page.
Values needed for display of barcode is avilabe on Master page.

Adobe form barcode scanner input

I made an Adobe form with X Pro. The purpose of the form is to inventory equipment. I use a barcode scanner to enter serial numbers into the form. When I scan the barcode (Code 39) of an item the serial number entered into the form is truncated. To ensure that the scanner was reading the barcode correctly I scanned a code while having notepad open, it input the entire serial number correctly. I did the same thing with Word and the serial was also input correctly. Why is the form truncating my serial number? I can type more in the field if I so wish so I know that a character limit is not the issue. I checked all of the text box's properties but see nothing incorrect or limiting.

Sorry for never replying to your post. The problem is: I do not know why this is happening.
Your last sentence "on the Text Area the scan seems to stop before entering all digits but when I scroll back through, they are accurate" makes me think. As I wrote earlier, "A barcode scanner is basically just an input device like a keyboard", but very much faster. Somehow it seems that the software acts like it is encountering the carriage return before all the data digits have been processed.
But somehow it also seems to correct itself in a text area that allows multiple lines, but not in a single-line text field.
Yet that does not happen with my barcode scanner, but with yours and the o/p's.
Very confusing! Does anybody else have some thoughts on this?

Reg. barcode printing in adobe form

I want to display barcode in adobe form.
I am using code128 standard barcode.
My requirement is to display the humanreadable format in barcode(text that displays with barcode) with 16 font size and
it should have format DTAPxxxxxxxxxx.i.e DTAP should be the prefix and remaining should be dynamic.
However i didnt find any option in adobe form to the same.

2-D Barcode in Adobe Form

The Adobe Forms Editor (Acrobat 8.1) allows insertion of PDF417 2-D Barcode but it only allows for field delimiter of 'tab' or 'xml'. Many gov. departments are requiring fields to be delimited with a 'NewLine'. I can see in the form that a custom action is added to the Annot which has Javascript in a stream object to perform the strTabDelimited. Select 'xml' and it replaces the JavaScript with a different script to do the xml encoding.
Is there some way of replacing the JavaScript so as to delimit fields with 'NewLine'? Being a Stream I guess the contents can't be edited by a plug in and I don't seem to be able to find the 'source' of the script anywhere.

Actually, in this case we can not use Designer for other reasons of fidelity, but after much messing around (interesting though, I now know how to add arbitrary stream content to the document)I found that in the Acrobat Forms Editor all that I need to do is open the barcode field properties select the values tab and then Custom Script. It puts up the default 'strTabDelimited' script and the delimiter can be changed to whatever you like.

Excessively wide 3 of 9 barcodes in Adobe forms

I am using Adobe form to create some labels. At runtime the barcodes in the label become too wide and dont print within the 4 inch by 6 inch label. I am using 3 of 9 bar codes. Is there some setting for having a fixed length for bar code etc. Currently even from a small value like "K1" the barcode printed is almost 1 1/2 inch wide.
I am new to barcodes and dont know much about them, except that they are scanned with a scanner to get value. Also I dont have the option to choose any other barcode format besides 3 of 9 as this is our company standard. I have already read some threads where they mentioned about changing some width settings but did not understand it properly where exactly to change settings etc

yes... the binding is fine.... the barccode is visible for the height 22mm onwards...
but its not visible if i am reducing the height below 22mm...
My req is :
The barcode should be printed after every 15 line items
and the barcode value is the 15 line items itself!!
Length of each line item is 98 char, and for 15 line items is 1470 char....
now the barcode contains 1470 char.... which is printing if i keep the height 22mm and above .... and i hv kept the width as 187mm.
But when i reduce its height of the barcode below 22mm the barcode is not printing....

Code128 C Barcode in Adobe Forms - Minimum Characters

Hello All, I have noticed that Code128 C barcode in Adobe forms seems to have a minimum required characters to be 38 or else, it'll add a zero at the end of the string. Is this something inherent limit or am I missing something? I truly appreciate responses. Thanks

Here is the answer of the SAP support:
unfortunatelly this control character is not supported by the XML
standard and the data in the SOAP request is delivered in XML format to
the ADS. Therefore such character cannot be used.

I understand that you don't want to print out the string value. But it
works as follows: the template (which contains the empty label
definition) and the data (which contains the value for the label) are
sent to ADS and on ADS side will the label generated.
Therefore it is also not possible with ADS that you create the label
befor sending it to ADS.
The only thing I can imagine that you create the label with an external
program and you insert it into the template as an image. But I don't
know if it is possible for you.
Conclusion: There is definitely no chance to use such characters in Adobe print forms due to the XML standard which is used to process the data inside the ADS.
In my case, i have to use SMARTFORMS technology to create the label with a pdf417 barcode containing these special characters.

UPS Maxicode in Adobe Forms - non-zebra printer

Hey guys,
I have a problem regarding printing an UPS Maxicode on a regular printer (HP Laserjet P3015) in Adobe Forms: It just won't print.
I'm using the "UPS Maxicode" object in the "barcode" library (LCD ES3, Version 10.4). After some research, I found this guide:

The scripting described there works great for printing the UPS Maxicode on a zebra printer - but the non-zebra printer scripting doesn't work for me.
There isn't much to find about this on google, so I hope you guys can help me. I experimented with printers, device types (i.e. PDF1) and such, but the result remains the same. What else can I try? Am I missing something?

Dynamic Text in Adobe forms

hi all,
I am working o adobe forms, i have to print a paragraph text which has both dymanic and static elemets in it. By putting all the text in a static text it works fine, but allignment does not happen properly.
do we have something like &.....& we have in smartforms.???
I saw in a example in which the variable was used as { } and that was dynamically filled at run-time... but i am not able to do the same...may be i am missing some settings or something...
Any help will be appreciated....in this regard.

Hi all,
I am working on cprojects.
The requirement is to add a new tab in the cproject screen, which has been done.
when we press the new tab, one layout should be displayed in Pdf format, where some fields should be editable to enter values by the user. All the data entered by the user should be stored in a ztable.
For which, I've created a layout using Adobe form, which has to be attached in that tab page. How to attach the form interface as webdynpro component in cproject.

Interactive Forms based on Adobe software is SAP's new solution for forms development. Its first release has the focus on interactive use of forms. High-volume printing is supported in principle, but - being a new solution - the performance has not yet reached the same level as Smart Forms or SAPscript, two established solutions that had years to grow. Interactive Forms is the only solution that will continue to be enhanced with new features, while SAPscript and Smart Forms will be supported without limitations.
When (or if) to move to Interactive Forms depends on your requirements. For interactive forms usage, i.e. the new functions, you have no choice, as the existing solutions don't support it. High-volume print scenarios need to be carefully analyzed to see whether your concrete requirements can be met at this point.
However, it is possible to move to Smart Forms and design your forms in such a way that a migration at any point in the future would be but a small step. Smart Forms offers from Web AS 6.40 a migration wizard to Interactive Forms. Technically, everything can be migrated, but we recommend against things like ABAP program nodes, for example.
You are not forced to ever go to Interactive Forms if you don't want to. It really depends on whether your client needs any of the new features in Interactive Forms. Also, if they are currently working with JetForms, they could enquire with Adobe directly what migration path they offer to the joint solution.

To get an overview idea about Adobe forms ,
Using SFP , first you need to create a interface . in interface you can declare the import and export parameters and also the declaration part, coding etc : This is nothing but similar to Function module interface.
And now we have to create the Form which is interactive. Create the form and enter the interface name which you have created in first step, so that the parameters , declarations of fields etc : will be copied and available in the form layout. So that you can drag and drop these declared fields ( dclared fields of interface ) to the layout.
Create the context and layout in the form.
The layout generated can be previewed and saved as PDF output.
Now we need to integrate the driver program and the PDF form to get the final output as per the requirement.
On activating and executing the form you will get a function module name just similar to smartforms.
The driver program needs to call this FM.
