Basic AS3 (Listeners and Variables)
I have 10 buttons on stage. Each button has been given an
initial alpha of 0.2. Instead of creating an EventListener for each
button (used for alpha=1.0), I am using the evt.target method with
a single Listener which works great.
For each button , I want to create another Listener that will
play a different sound clip for each button respectively. I know I
can do this by creating a Listener for each button, but I want to
keep it simple and use the evt.target method again. This time I
must tell the Listener to play a specific sound that has been
assigned to the evt.target.
Is there a simple way of doing so? I'm assuming I must assign
a new variable to each button referencing its specific sound. The
Listener would then call the evt.target.sound[sound1]. This is what
I think is correct, but the various attempts have failed.
Thanks as always!
Thanks for response oP.
I have actually gotten the effect by using a simple if/else
statement.

Basics of Parameters and Variables
Dear All,
I would like to learn how to use parameters and variables in Custom Functions, in SAP BODS.
Could anyone please send me good links.

[JS] Basic question about event listeners and event handlers
I am very new to the whole topic of event listeners and event handlers. I'd run the test for the following problem myself, but I don't know where to start, and I just want to know if it's impossible -- that is, if I'm misunderstanding what event listeners and event handlers do.
Say I have an InDesign document with a text frame that is linked to an InCopy story. Can I use an "afterImport" event listener on the text frame to perform some action any time the link to the InCopy story gets updated? And will the event handler have access to both the story that is imported, and the pathname of the InCopy file?
Thanks.Thank you, Kasyan.
Both of those are good solutions.
We are currently using InDesign CS4 and InCopy CS5. I'm hoping to get them to purchase the whole CS5 suite soon, since I'd like to start writing scripts for InDesign CS5 as soon as possible, as long as I'm going to have to be doing it in the not too distant future anyway. The greater variety of event handlers sounds like it might be something that is crucial to the project I'm working on, so that adds to the argument for getting CS5.
Thanks again. You have no idea how helpful this is. I made some promises to my boss yesterday that I later realized were based on assumptions of mine about the InDesign/InCopy system that didn't make any sense, and I was going to have to retract my promises. But after reading your response I think I can still deliver, in a slightly different way that I had been thinking before.

UlhasHi,
Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
*Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
*IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
Outbound Process
Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
Create Segment ( WE31)
Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

RSARFCEX - Execute Calls Not Yet Executed
RBDMOIND - Status Conversion with Successful tRFC Execution
RBDMANIN - Start error handling for non-posted IDocs
RBDSTATE - Send Audit Confirmations
FOr testing you can use WE19.
There are two filtering in IDoc.
Segment Filtering:
Segment filtering can be achieved using T/Code BD56. Here you can suppress a whole segment irrespective of data inside it . You have to give Message Type / Sender Prrtner / Receiver Partner.
Data Filtering:
Data filtering can be done in dustribution model (BD64) where you can restrict whole IDOCS or partials IDOCS to be send based on data in fields inside IDOC depending on whether the segment in which you filter is at the highest level or at a lower level. For example in MATMAS if you put a filter of E1MARCM for a particular plant , only data for this plant will go and other plants will be ignored.

AS3 in timeline - variable changes value on its own
I've just started working with Flash CS4 and Actionscript 3 after being away from Flash for almost 10 years.
I've set up a menu that allows users to select from five sections. When users select an option, flow goes to the corresponding section of the timeline and a movieclip plays. Stop actions prevent flow from continuing past the current section. A home button takes users back to the menu in the first frame. This works just fine.
The client wants to provide a 'next' button which should play through all sections in sequence when the learner clicks it. I've defined a variable which I set to true when the user clicks 'next'. I've added if...else logic to the stop actions:
trace("nextClicked "+nextClicked);
if (nextClicked == true)
play();
else
stop();
This should stop flow unless the play button has been pressed setting the variable nextClicked to true. That's not what happens - flow stops even if when I click the 'next' button. I added the trace to verify the variable has the correct value and discovered that the variable value resets to false from true before it gets to this script.
What am I missing about ActionScript 3 that might account for this behaviour? I have tried to read the Actionscript 3 materials but I get bogged down in the complexity of the programming requirements and the lack of depth in the examples provided. I'm sure the examples are perfectly adequate if you're trying to do what they illustrate but I haven't found an example that fits what I'm trying to do here.
Thanks.Thank you for your suggestion:
I have declared the variable at the beginning. This is a sample of the code in the first frame:
//define variable
var nextClicked:Boolean;
//define event listeners and the corresponding functions for menu buttons
//Me
btn_me.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, gotome);
function gotome(event:MouseEvent):void {
//set var to false to indicate Next has not been clicked
var nextClicked = false;
trace("Me selected "+nextClicked);
gotoAndPlay("me");
[.....more code defining more listeners...]
//define listener for Next button
btn_next.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,gonext);
function gonext(event:MouseEvent):void {
//set var to true to indicate Next has been clicked
var nextClicked=true;
trace("Clicked next "+nextClicked);
play();
This seems very similar to what you suggested except you also included this line:
Button1.label = "show Var";
and I'm not sure what that line does. Does it set a label for the button? Since I've already set these explicitly, I don't see that this would be necessary. More importantly, I don't understand why leaving this out would cause the problem I'm having - the value of the variable changes from true to false without any code being executed.
I'm still in the dark - and I still need to solve this.
Thanks. -
Passing bash arguments and variables
Ok, so I've been staring at this script for the past hour with no avail. Basically, I want to pass arguments to a C program I wrote, both with arguments of the bash script and variables calculated in the bash script. For some reason it's not working, here's the script where it is right now:
#!/bin/bash
# Wrapper script for finding modes, outputting data as Frequency vs Amplitude
NUMPOS=$(cat $1 | awk '/^position/' | wc -l)
LINES=$[$(cat $1 | wc -l)-5-$NUMPOS]
NUMFREQ=$[$LINES/$NUMPOS]
mkdir split_$1
cp -t split_$1 drumdata $1
cd split_$1
./drumdata $1 $NUMPOS $NUMFREQ
rm drumdata $1
This gives me the error: ./getModes.sh: line 19: 26946 Segmentation fault ./drumdata $1 $NUMPOS $NUMFREQ
So I tried a different method with array variables
#!/bin/bash
# Wrapper script for finding modes, outputting data as Frequency vs Amplitude
NUMPOS=$(cat $1 | awk '/^position/' | wc -l)
LINES=$[$(cat $1 | wc -l)-5-$NUMPOS]
NUMFREQ=$[$LINES/$NUMPOS]
args[0]=$1
args[1]=$NUMPOS
args[2]=$NUMFREQ
mkdir split_$1
cp -t split_$1 drumdata $1
cd split_$1
./drumdata ${args[@]}
rm drumdata $1
Which gives me the error: ./testModes: line 22: 7945 Segmentation fault ./drumdata "${args[@]}"
Which makes me want to cry because I wrote a script to test array variable behavior:
File Edit Options Buffers Tools Sh-Script Help
#!/bin/bash
args[0]=test
args[1]=getModes.sh
args[2]=drumdata.c
cp -t asdf ${args[@]}
And it works . Why aren't my variables being evaluated?Moved to General Programming.

Difference between Temp table and Variable table and which one is better performance wise?
Hello,
Anyone could you explain What is difference between Temp Table (#, ##) and Variable table (DECLARE @V TABLE (EMP_ID INT)) ?
Which one is recommended to use for better performance?
also Is it possible to create CLUSTER and NONCLUSTER Index on Variable table?
In my case: 1-2 days transactional data are more than 3-4 Millions. I tried using both # and table variable and found table variable is faster.
Is that Table variable using Memory or Disk space?
Thanks Shiven:) If Answer is Helpful, Please VoteCheck following link to see differences b/w TempTable & TableVariable: http://sqlwithmanoj.com/2010/05/15/temporary-tables-vs-table-variables/
TempTables & TableVariables both use memory & tempDB in similar manner, check this blog post: http://sqlwithmanoj.com/2010/07/20/table-variables-are-not-stored-in-memory-but-in-tempdb/
Performance wise if you are dealing with millions of records then TempTable is ideal, as you can create explicit indexes on top of them. But if there are less records then TableVariables are good suited.
On Tables Variable explicit index are not allowed, if you define a PK column, then a Clustered Index will be created automatically.
But it also depends upon specific scenarios you are dealing with , can you share it?

Fixed and Variable Breakup of Actual Cost
We have implemented Material ledger and also activated actual cost component split. We are getting the actual product cost at month end. In the costing cockpit we get the Peiodic unit price(Actual cost) as well as std price of the material. But In costing cockpit we are not able to get the breakup of Fixed and variable. Whereas we are getting Fixed and varible breakup when we check cost component report in ckm3. But there, we can see individual material wise fixed and varibale breakup.
Can anybody help me so that I can see the Actual Fixed and variable cost for all the products at a time?
With regards
Mukesh PoddarFixed price, is the fixed costs - I usually see it in relation to Overhead..
Fixed costs remain, whether you manufacutre or not.
Say you are deciding whether to out-source an assembly, If you outsource, VARIABLE cost will be saved, Material, labor for that assembly, Overhead representing fringes for that labor, the electricity to run that specific machine. However, you will still have fixed costs of: Management Salary (although some of that can be variable); insurance on the building; heating and cooling for the building; realestate taxes.
If the cost to make "in house" is 150 each and the vendor is going to charge you 100, thi is only a true saving if your fixed costs are less than 50.
SAP allows you to separate fixed and variable costs so that you do make/buy analysis, budgeting, etc
Hope this helps

Merging Basic data View and Classification View in Material Master
Hi,
There is a requirement to append Classification View under Basic Data View and then finally to delete Classification View.
As per my understanding, it is not possible. Please let me know if it is possible, if so, please let me know how is it possible.
A quick response is appreciated.

SOAP Use Adapter-Specific Message Properties and Variable Transport Binding
Hi Friends,
I am new to use to Soap Adapter. Please help me out bellow doubts.
1.When you use Use Adapter-Specific Message Properties and Variable Transport Binding .
2. Where exactly we r using below parameters.
Remote User : (technical name: SRemoteUser )
Remote Host : (technical name: SRemoteHost )
SOAP Action (technical name: SHeaderSOAPACTION )
To transfer further header fields, set the relevant indicator. You can then store the following attributes and their values in the XI message header:
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName1 )
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName2 )
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName3 )
Thanks&Regards
G.BhanuprakashHi,
1.When you use Use Adapter-Specific Message Properties and Variable Transport Binding .
SAP Help says both are needed to be checked when you want to process adapter attributes
Configuring the Receiver SOAP Adapter - SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure - SAP Library
These attributes can be get/set using dynamic configuration and their technical names are what you have pasted:
Remote User : (technical name: SRemoteUser )
Remote Host : (technical name: SRemoteHost )
SOAP Action (technical name: SHeaderSOAPACTION )
To transfer further header fields, set the relevant indicator. You can then store the following attributes and their values in the XI message header:
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName1 )
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName2 )
Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName3 )
Remote User - the username used to send a message to the adapter engine using SOAP
Remote Host - hostname which the remote user used
SOAP Action - SOAP Action of the XI webservice (sender) / SOAP Action of the receiver webservice
Variable Headers are additional key-value pairs in the HTTP Header that could be accessed in the XI Header using dynamic configuration. The limit is only three though.

Process Order Basic Finish Date and Scheduled Finish Date
Folks,
I have a requirement from the business to be able to update the Process Order Basic Finish Date and Scheduled Finish Date independently from each other.
In other words, update the Basic Finish Date and the Scheduled Finish Date cannot change or update the Scheduled Finish Date and the Basic Finish Date cannot change.
I believe the reason for this is to be able to use the Basic Date to maintain the ATP accurately and keep the Scheduled Date to mark when the order was originally due from the shop floor to be able to measure if orders are being completed on time or late.
I have worked in tnx OPUZ and had some success with other issues with these dates but I can't seem to make them work independently from each other.
Or does anyone have any ideas how to measure proces order performance to the production schedule?
Thank you for your help,
GregRajesha, thank you for your reply but it doesn't solve my problem.
Let me restate my scenario:
I start a process order and both the basic and scheduled finish dates are the same, June 1.
At some point, shop floor tells me they will be late and cannot deliver until June 15.
I need to update a date in the system so the ATP and the MRP planning runs have correct information for promising customers, I will update the Basic Finish date with June 15.
I also need to keep the original June 1 date in order to measure the shop floor performance to the production schedule to measure how early or late the order was delivered. How can I keep the original finish date or how can I measure if a process order is early or late??
Thank you for your help,

Budget Report to show the fixed and variable split for Materials
Hello Gurus,
Could you tell me if there is a budget standards report that will show the fixed and variable split for Materials? Example: Labor, Equip., QC and Overheads?
I need it for the correctly rolled-up 'final material number' step. The report that does this now (without fixed and var split) is the Indented BOM Comparison (sret - cost mgmt-product costing - cost mgmt-customized reports - cost estimate comparison - costed multilevel compare rpt - Indented BOM Comparison).
Thanks,
Jeffersonone simple way is in your final itab declare a slno type i field
data : begin of itab occurs 0,
slno type i,
<other fields>
end of itab.
after filling the data in itab.
loop at itab.
itab-slno = sy-tabix.
modify itab.
endloop.
in fieldcatalog also you have to define that slno field as the first column.
but it will change its order if you are sorting the output or filtering the output.

GetuDave,
I will +1 Pixelan's products. They are great, simple, and have about the best support that I know of. When you explore, say Pixelan's SpiceMaster, dig deeply. Things appear rather mundane, on the surface, but there is so very much power lurking, just below the surface. I could almost imagine a 1000 page manual to cover every possible aspect of that program... Every time that I use it, I learn something new, and wonderful.
Good luck,
