Basic Forte for C++ functionality

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for product feedback, but here goes...
I am using Forte with Nedit as the editor.
- How come when I open a project in Forte, then go to open a source file, the file browser is not in my current project directory. That is annoying.
- Is there code completion in this IDE?
- In the Project Creation wizard, I don't specify source files because, well, this is a new project. Yet, if I specify libraries and include directories during the wizard, they all disappear when the project is made. This seems to be because I didn't specify any source files. That is extremely annoying.
- If I am already in a project, and I select File>New, I am faced with a file selection browser. Why? I don't want to select an existing file which is why I selected File>New. My only choice is then to type in some non-sensical file name, just to get Nedit to open. I want to open Nedit immediately, so I can write code then save the file.
- When I use the project creation wizard, why doesn't it prompt me to make a source file directory within the project directory? Something like "src" would be a good choice.
- When I save a source file from Nedit, I am unable to at the same time create a new directory for the source file to be save in. I am relegated to leaving the Forte/Nedit environment just to make a new directory w/in my project directory.
- I can't seem to open multiple source files at once in different Nedit windows. Each time I open an additional source file, it simply replaces the source file that is already open.
Have I grown way too comfortable with the user-friendliness of VC++?

I can create a project and add the needed libraries to the settings, click Build, and it builds, then don't change ANYTHING and click build again, and it won't build, complaining about link errors because it loses my library settings.
I was able to solve this by saving off the original project make file and using this as a guide.

Take a look at this color model software I put together. (Don't concern yourself much with the basic programming at this point.). The color component generator subVI is borrowed from a LabVIEW example.
First look at test_color2.vi. If you adjust the sliders of the various controls, you will see how it works. You can see that for pure B&W images, brightness, contrast, and gamma (which I think I have coded correctly) are all fairly straightforward to modify.
Now look at test_color3.vi. Here we try to adjust BCG for color images using the color model shown here where current color component clusters are carried into the BCG event cases via shift registers. You can see that once color is introduced into the image, it becomes difficult to mix the colorizing with the BCG model. And this is pretty much where I am right now.
Would be interested in comments / suggestions.

Basic Settings for BADI

I would like to set BADI to transmit contracts from SRM to MM and I am going >>>Customizing under BADi --> Follow on documents --> Create Contract in back-end but then I do not know how to move.

Hi. You would only implement this BADI if you would like to modify the functionality/values of the contract interface to MM.
To do this proceed as follows:-
1) Press the execute button (As per you navigation in SPRO mentioned).
2) Specify an implementation name (Start with a Z or Y) - press enter (You will need a developers key from service.sap.com)
3) Give the implementation a name and SAVE to a transport package
4) Select the interfaces table and navigate (double click) on the method applicable (CONTRACT_INTERFACE_FILL or CONTRACT_PROCESS_TYPE_FILL)
5) Enter the code you would like SAVE & activate.
6) Go back to the implementation (F3 to go back) and activate the implementation (CTRL-F3).
7) Test and if this works transport the development through the landscape.

I liked the way different words in the Java program were shown in different colors. It helped me to understand the language. I thought it was a nice tool.
But unfortunately, I only learned Java with Forte. I associated all my work with Forte. I was thinking much about Forte. I didn't learn about directory structures in an application or how Java uses a classpath until I stopped using Forte.
So yawmark is right. If you use Mac OSX try using BBEdit as an editor. It will color your code. And outside of an IDE you will be aware of the basics of Java. If you use another Operating System, there are other text editors available that can color your code and that can be helpful.

Go to the spro-->crm-->basic functions-->Partner functions-->partner determination procedure.
select the procedure set for opportunities. now Select the Check box for Changeable address which means one will be able to change the address if the partner function has many addresses.

Possible design patterns for base function with possible additions

I have various interfaces i have to implement. Let's assume ITypeA, ITypeB. They have following methods:
ITypeA
Connect
Disconnect
GetData
SetData
ClearData
ITypeB
Connect
Disconnect
GetData

Pause
Stop
They have some base functionality: Connect, Disconnect, GetData and SetData.
If I want to add ITypeC in the future, it will have these base functionality too.
I want to access to the base functionality and if there is additional functionality, I want to get this too. What design patterns are available that are capable of this situations?
I found one here: Extension Interface. In this, you create a base
interface and multiple extension interfaces that are implementing the additional functions. In the base interface you can ask for the available extension interfaces of the component. But this approach seems complicated: I have to create interfaces for each
type, factories for the interfaces, I need some tables to save what Interface belongs to what Factory...
What is the basic solution for this problem? Extension Interfaces? Are there any other possible alternatives for my problem?

You may have more joy dividing your interfaces by behaviour and deciding on the types later.

Help - Class name and descriptions for a function location.

Hi Guys
i have to write a report that displays the class and class descriptions for a function location. the user passes in either the function location(TPLNR) or the class name and the report should display the the class characteristics and resp. values. Is there a FM that i coud use?

You can search a FM of your requirement by putting in the Key words and searching for a FM. Like * KEYWORD * and then pressing F4.
Say for example you need to search something regarding converstion.
Search for * CONVERT * and press F4.
If there is something specfic like converting date to something you can give
DATE * CONVERT *
OR
CONVERT * DATE * and press F4.
Once you narrow down your search you will have a Function module documentation inside the Function module. Please note that all the FMs willl not have documentation.

How to set up and test the Basic Authentication for HTTP protocol

I tried configuring the password based Basic Authentication for sending xml document using ebMS - HTTP protocol. I set username and password while configuring the transport server for both trading partners. I want to know, is that sufficient for basic authenticaton. When I open the URI http://localhost:7778/b2b/transportServlet, it is not asking any authentication (username/password). Please note that I have not used SSL certificate. Anyone please help me out to configure Basic authentication.

How to register a jsp page for a function

Hi,
Im new to OA Framework. I have to load a custom jsp page on clicking a function under a responsibility. I logged into "System Administrator" resposibility -->Application --> function. Searched for the function and in the Web HTML set the value as "/OA_HTML/testPage.jsp" (I tried "testPage.jsp" also)
I have created the testPage under WebContent directory(in JDeveloper), where all the other jsp pages like, OA.jsp, RF.jsp are found. When i run the test_fwktutorial.jsp and click the function, it gets forwarded to Login Page.
Whr am i going wrong..any ideas.

OAJSPHelper class is a helper class which contain lot of static methods to get context related data, this class should would have values after webappscontext is initialized,ie. you are moving from a OAF page to a jsp page.
If you wanna open your jsp directly and create apps session, you need to hard code values of password, username ,responsibility bkey etc to create webappscontext. In case of fwktutorial jsp from where you might have picked this code, these properties are picked from text file in OA_html folder in jdev.
