How to setup a Subcontracting Scenario Part II

Guys,
I created a supply chain model to reflect subcontracting scenario. Here are the results as I ran SNP Heuristics.
1. I have a forecast demand at DC = 10.
2. Supplier gets a purchase requisitions.
3. In response Planned Order is generated and dependent demand is placed for components.
4. Purchase Requisition is created against DC for Component.
My question is why is it system not generating subcontracting purchase requisition. I was expecting a Subcon purchase requisition to be created a Supplier end for FGI.
Would it be that subcontracting purchase requisiton will be created in R/3 and then land in APO and APO would assign right ATP Category?

Hi,
Can you confirm which planning book you are using, is it standard planning book for "Subcontracting", if not have you included "Subcontracting" key figure.
You will get Subcontracting Pur Req only after you have included the key figures for Subcontracting Demand and Receipt.
R/3 does not generate any Pur req for Subcontracting movement but reserves the stock as Stock to vendor which comes to APO in category 'CE'

  • How to manage the Vendor supplied components in Subcontracting scenario.

    Hi experts ,
    I have to complete the finished product say "A" by subcontracting scenario.
    I am supplying A1, A2, A3 to the vendor as components.
    Component A4 is the item required for the final product "A" but this will be supplied by the Vendor.
    Please let me know how can I handle both the material movements and the cost of the product in this scenario thru Subcontracting PO.

    what did your purchasing department negotiate?
    do you get billed for the component A4 separately? or is the cost for A4 inlcuded in the service charge for subcontracting?
    does your purchasing department order A4?
    is it in your bill?
    if it is in your bill and you create an extra order for this part, then you should set the SC flag in the delivery address tab of your PO along with the vendor number of your subcontractor.
    Subcontractor will then tell you when the material arrvied and you post a goods receipt, this is then directly posted into special stock at subcontractor. When you receive the finished material A and post GR with MIGO all components will be issued.
    you will then receive a bill for subcontracting fee that is posted to your subcontract order, and another bill for the component A4 that is posted to this component order.
    If costs are included in subcontract fee, then you dont need to manage inventory, do not need an extra PO and extra invoice, and dont need the A4 in your BOM

    Dear SAP Experts,
    my client is having one issue regarding disable OK check for subcontracting child parts in MIGO transaction  ,In MIGO subcomponenets are attached to main component , my client is asking for disable that OK check box user shouldnot remove that check box tick mark when system showing message deficiate of subcomponents at subcontractor  because some times users removing that check box tick mark  and proceeding further, with that they are not able to reconcile the sub challans.
    Plz let me know how disable OK check for child parts in MIGO

    while making the po we are explode the BOM and we defined the parant and child mateirlas in bom.
    system will show the same in migo . i think there is no standard configration to block the option.

  • How to setup RDP or VDI services in this scenario

    Hi there! I've this scenario:
    a. 20 thin clients (with OS Windows 7 Embedded Edition)
    b. Two physical servers Core1 and Core2, with 64GB of RAM, 2 socket CPU, 8 cores, OS Windows Server 2012 R2, and HyperV roles
    c. two domain controllers as child virtual machines with 2 GB running (PDC on Srv1 and BDC on Srv2)
    d. ExchangeServer 2013 running as child vm on Core1, with 32 GB RAM.
    I've licenses for Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2012, and MS office 2013
    I want clients, after to connect with RDP, to use outlook 2013 for emails.
    Now, i want to setup services for 20 thin clients. This is new for me...and i want your suggestions how to setup up them on this scenario. Have i to use RDP services, or VDI???

    Hi,
    According to your comment, I can say that Share permissions are automatically set up by the management tools once it will be created. We can use windows PowerShell or server manager to manage UPD. Also remember that User profile disks are for a single collection
    only. A user connecting to two different collections will have two separate profiles.

    The scenario is as follows:
    If our company is doing sucontracting for other companies.
    Our Company is using SAP.
    In this case how to enter material came from customer and how to remove value added material from our premises.
    As per knowledge, Incoming matl is raw material and outgoing material is finished material. We have to create BOM for this.
    for all this process any body guide me step by step procedure.
    Please respond to this issue. Its very urgent.

    We use subcontracting and here is that we do:
    For the raw material we send to the supplier, we need to check the following:
    Before of all check that exist a PO or Schedule agreement setup as subcontracting
    1.- Material Master Basic Data 1:
    Gross Weight & Net Weight must be maintained.
    2.- Material master
    Sales: Sales Org. Data 1
    Delivering plant: XXXX
    Tax classification code: 1 (Full tax)
    Sales: Sales Org. Data 2
    Matl statistics grp: 1 (Material VIS active)
    Acct assignment grp: 02 (Parts, Materials etc)
    Item Category Group: NORM
    Sales: General/Plant
    Trans. Grp: 0001 (Standard)
    LoadingGrp: XXXX
    MRP2
    Special procurement  = L1
    3.-In XK03, for Vendor select Control data.
    In account control field, there must be a partner number as u201876u2019 + Vendor Number.
    In VD03, enter u201876u2019 + vendor number as Customer.
    Sales Organization 7699
    Distribution Channel 99
    Division 00
    Vendor number must be in Control data/Vendor
    4.- We send the raw material to the subcontractor via ME2O
    5.- Once the delivery is created we use the LT03 to create the transfer order and complete the stock to vendor.
    6.- We create a BOM for the material that we are going to receive as "dad" and the raw that we sent to the subcontracting as "child".
    7.- We create a subcontracting info record
    8.- Create in out case a Subcontracting schedule agreement (Item Category = L)
    9.- Once the subcontracting vendor back the finish good.. use MIGO and that will post the 101 for the finish good and discount the raw material for the stock to vendor.

    I would like to use my iPhone and or iPad to stream music from Pandora and Spotify to my 5.1 (Wired) Speakers.
    This question is similiar to this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4153687 however i wanted some clarity and thought best to start a new discussion before pulling my hair out doing this the wrong way.
    I have an unused Airport Express basestation (A1408) My current home setup is as follows:
    Modem Router: (Netgear DGND3700) N600 Wireless ADSL2+ Dual band Gigabit
    Home Theatre Computer: Windows 7 (Cat6 LAN Ethernet connection) NO LAN port
    AV Reciever: (Onkyo TX-SR309)
    5.1 Speakers: Wired connection to AV Receiver (NOT Airplay capable)
    Laptop: Windows 7 (Cat6 LAN Ethernet connection)
    My question is how to setup the airport, i understand it can be used to enable airplay streaming of music over the existing WiFi network, as these music streaming apps download and play music concurrently i would not want to have to switch between to two seperate WiFi networks. Should i plug the airport into the HTPC? I would need to purchase a LAN Splitter as the only LAN socket is already taken up with my cat6 connection. OR would i plug it directly into the modem/router? This second option is prefereable.

    Still slightly confused, with the link you provided i chose scenario 2. All the other secanrios instructed i connect the airport express to my home stereo or powered speakers. As i dont have an aiport express only an airport extreme there is no audio jack and cannot connect it to the stereo/speakers.
    option 2: Connecting to an existing Wi-Fi network as part of a roaming network
    Ensure that the AirPort base station Ethernet cables are connected as above
    I have done this and conected it via ethernet cat6 to the modem/router
    Launch AirPort Utility 6.1. The Assistant will automatically configure the Roaming network
    Im using windows 7 and cannot find this version of aiport utility, only 5.6.1 - The message comes up: Aiport utility was unable to find any airport wireless device. I am running this utility on my win7 HTPC (which is connected to my modem/router via cat6 LAN) The airport light is blinkng amber.
    would you reccommend a hard reset of the airport? or can you provide a link for AirPort Utility 6.1.?

    In  subcontarcting PO scenario please explain me the following.
    I am sending x kg of material A to SC Vendor .
    I am expecting y kg of Material B from SC vendor.
    By product in the procedure is C.
    I have maintained BOM as A material to be send A, finished assebly is B and byproducts C in cs01.
    Steps Involved are
    1. I sent x KG to  SC Vendor . ( Explain how to issue goods to SC vendor with Movement type involved.)
    2. Found that actual consumption was less than expected in BOM, So i want reverse those extra parts i sent to SC vendor.( How to reverse them and using which Movement type)
    3. After completion of process i want to do GR for the Finished product XX.(How to do GR and Movement type envolved)
    4.In last stage i want to recieve the by-products from the vendor.( Movement type)
    5 Scrap generated in process to be recieved in companies own stock( Movement type)
    5. What are various excise document which are involved if vendor sends me the finished product within subcontracting period.( 180 days)
    6. What is the " Reconcillation the SC challan ? Meaning of reconcillation?

    Can anybody help me regarding subcontracting. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Talking about subcontracting, right now we are facing some issues.We have right now what we call dismantle subcontracting,
    Scenario 1:
    Normally we send material A,B,C to vendor 1 for subcontract and receive material D.now on vice versa, we want to send material A, to Vendor 1 to receive material B,C and D.
    while Material B,C,D will remain in vendor site after dismantle process is done.
    I know, i can input one of the subcomponent say : A in PO as a parent component then put rest of others as a subcomponent with addition negative quantity for material D.
    but the problem is , a lot of subcomponent for dismantle is involved and the customer is minded if they have to put a lot of subcomponent every time they create PO(while this PO subcontract may vary every time).Any other way for resolved this objection.

    Sub Contracting Cycle
    (1) You have a material that can be procured externally, and you have maintained BOM with components. Any waste generated and received during subcontracting process can be maintained as component with negative quantity. 
    (2) You create a subcontracting PO (PO with Item Category L). You can also maintain Purchase Info Record for Subcontract category for material and subcontractor. 
    (3) You make a transfer posting to issue components for SC PO. Material is sent to subcontractor.  As material remains under your ownership, system does not make any value entry. But quantity is shown as "Material Provided to Vendor" 
    (4) You receive finished material against SC-PO. You also specify components consumed in manufacturing of finished goods. Additionally, if you have negative components in BOM, now you'll also receive subcontracting by-products. There are three events, so three accounting entries are generated: 
    DR FG Stock/ SC By-Product Stock 
    CR Change in Stock (FG/ SC By-Product ) 
    (for finished goods received) 
    DR Subcontracting Charges 
    CR GR/IR Clg 
    (for moneys payable to Subcontractor) 
    DR Consumption (Components) 
    CR Change in Stock (FG/ SC By-Product ) 
    (material provided to Vendor is now charged to expense) 
    (5) You do the IV for SC Invoice, and the process is complete. 
    Process of Subcontract in MM
    Sub-contract business process: 
    You want to buy material from the supplier (processed material/ assembled item) , but for some reason (quality of certain item / price ) you will give some component to vendor . 
    Vendor shall process the item / use the item provided & supply the final item. 
    SAP process: 
    1.Create the finished goods material code. 
    2.Maintain the BOM for the material. 
    3.Create PO with item category as "L" . 
    4.Issue material to vendor with movement type 541 
    5.Receive the material against the PO with movement type 101. 
    6.MIRO to account for vendor's invoice for the service charge& material used by him. 
    Can anybody tell me how a process has to be given to subcontracting?
    Suppose, I have 3 operations  1)weaving 2)dyeing 3)cutting & packing 
    if no 2 process (i.e Dyeing) has to be given to subcontracting, what process should i follow ?
    The following process to be followed for subcontracting. 
    1. Item code(material master) to be created at the stage of before dyeing. 
    2. Item code(material master) to be created after Dyeing as subcontracted item.(F30) 
    3. Bill of material to becreated for the material(2) calling for material(1) 
    4. Inforecord and source list to be created for material(2) with the corresponding vendor 
    5. PO to be released for material (2) 
    6.Along with PO the material(1) to be issued to vendor 
    7.On receipt of material when GR is made the stock with vendor will get updated. 
    How to Create a Subcontract Order?
    To create a subcontract order, proceed as follows: 
    Enter the material you want to order and the item category for subcontracting (L) in the order item. 
    Press ENTER to display the screen for component processing. 
    Enter the components that the vendor requires to manufacture the product. 
    Please note: 
    – You do not need to enter the date required for the components. This date is proposed by the system when you press ENTER. 
    It is calculated as follows:
    Delivery date of the item - Planned delivery time
    – If you do not want the quantity of the components to be changed if the order quantity of the end product is altered, set the indicator Fixed quantity (column F). 
    – You can determine whether the components are available on the date required by selecting Edit -> Availability check. 
    If you entered a bill of material as the material in the subcontract order, the components are created automatically. 
    If you want to determine the components in the bill of material at a later date (for example, if the bill of material is subsequently changed), choose Item -> Component -> New BOM explosion. The existing components are deleted and redetermined in the bill of material. 
    Save the purchase order. 
    When you print the purchase order, the components are printed per order item
    Subcontracting - Key Points
    Special Procurement Process.
    Item category: L
    Order type: NB
    In info record vendor should be maintained as subcontractor.
    Vendor (Subcontractor) receives the components used to manufacture a finished product directly from your company or through third party.
    Your company should place a purchase order for the finished product.   In this manually you can enter the required individual components or it can be determined via the explosion of BOM (if exists).
    Stock check at vendor level: ME2O
    Company stock check: MMBE
    GR for individual components through movement type: 501 or 561 (if with out PO or without reference).
    GI to subcontracting vendor: through movement type 541.
    GR from sub contracting vendor: through movement type: 101
    Movement type 543 is displayed to cancel the material cost account.
    If the subcontracting order has to be generated through materials planning,the special procurement key has to be set in MRP 2 screen.
    - To create the Subcon Info Record : Tcode ME11 - Info Category - Click Subcontracting
    - To create Material BOM : Tcode CS01
    - With the Info and Material Setup, you can then create the Purchase Order in Tcode ME21N

    The alert inbox is user-specific and displays all the alerts for each alert server that have been generated based on the alert configuration.
    An alert can be delivered to you by e-mail, fax, or SMS. In each case, you will also find the alert in your alert inbox, irrespective of the delivery method
    In the Personalization tab in the alert inbox, you can either specify how u want the alert to be sent via fax, sms or mail. In your case it will be fax.
    MTE
    By resetting a monitoring tree element, you delete open alerts and data collected for the MTE. You can also reset multiple selected MTEs, or also all MTEs in a particular hierarchy in the monitoring tree. Resetting an MTE deletes alerts and performance data.
    To be able to reset MTEs and alerts, you must first activate the maintenance functions.
    Choose CCMS ® Control/Monitoring ® Alert Monitor in the SAP Easy Access menu, or call transaction RZ20.
    Expand the monitor set that contains the monitors that you require and choose Start Monitor.
    Choose Extras ® Activate Maintenance Function.
    Select the MTEs that you want to reset and choose Edit ® Node (MTE) ® Reset.
    After you have confirmed the Alert Monitor warning, the MTEs are reset to their status at the time of the system start or their insertion into the Alert Monitor. The Alert Monitor continues to collect data and trigger alerts for the MTEs.

    The task audit is a feature which is always on -- it is not configurable. It tracks most common user tasks in HFM, but not everything.
    The feature is accessible from the web, but only by users who are part of the application administrators group as configured in the EPM Configurator utility. This is not the same as having the application administrator role. Whoever installed and configured HFM can show you the configuration of this option, in terms of which user group can access Task Audit, Data Audit, System Messages from the web client.
    Data Audit is an entirely independent feature, configured by enabling at the account and scenario level from within metadata. Once configured, users in the Application Administrators group (as above) can view this report from the web.

    The Portal Configuration Guide, available on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/appserver1012.html does provide some very specific information on how to set up OracleAS Portal.
    Section 6.3.2.1 Configuring SSL for OracleAS Portal describes various configurations, such as:
    SSL to OracleAS Single Sign-On
    SSL to OracleAS Web Cache
    SSL Throughout OracleAS Portal
    External SSL with Non-SSL Within Oracle Application Server
    For larger enterprise configurations, you can refer to the Enterprise Deployment Guide.
    Can you give a bit more background on what you are trying to set up? Which scenario, what sort of hardware, software versions, and so on.

    Hi Arjun,
    It is depends on client, for eg:say if client follows Sixsigma processes, then give much importance on Quality. So in this scenario it becomes much clear to have Quality box, If for other clients who don't have much Quality processes in place. you can take up the Quality (test) in Development box itself.
    And it also depends on data you want have test on. For some clients they move much of their historical data for testing purpose..
    Also some clients mainatain all 3 boxes(Dev,QA & Prod.)in sink..so that it would be easy for any changes or whatsoever.

    Hi Gurus, I am new to workflow.. I have created a workflow from one of the examples of User Decision and SendMail. After i recive the work item .. i have three options: Approve, reject and cancel. when i click aprrove ior reject, i am supposed to rec
