Basic JCO Information
I'm in the process of learning how to create custom business objects within the ISA framework. I have been able to create a customer business object manager and a custom business object.
I'm attempting to call the BAPI_CURRENCY_GETLIST function module and return a list of all currencies that SAP supports. I'm able to execute the function, but I'm confused what I need to do next. From what I understand the getExportParameterList() call on a JCoFunction will allow me to access objects that the bapi call returns.
Again, the objective is very simple. I'm trying to do is use the JCO object to return a list of currencies.
Also, I'm rather confused when I should be using a Structure and when I should be using a Table. I don't understand the differences between these two objects.
I appreciate the guidance, and thank you for being patient with me!
Hi Brian,
In simple word the difference between JCO.Table and JCO.Structure is as follow.
A structure is basically a special case of a table that has exactly one row.
So in simple word when you know that your BAPI or RFC is going to return only one row or nothing then you can use JCO.Structur but if your BAPI/BADI or RFC will return more then 1 row then you have to use Table.
You can not handle more then 1 row with JCO.Structure.
So when there is a possiblilty that you can have more then one row use JCO.Table. If you are sure that BAPI/BADI or RFC will return only one row or nothing then use JCO.Structure.
I hope this information will clear your confusion about JCO.Table and JCO.Structure.

Local SLD -Missing Jco information
Hi All,
I have a question with regards to our scenario..We have a 4 system lanscape with SND,DEV,QAS,PRD sytems and Solman 4.0. We have the central SLD setup in the solman We are currently having ESS in the SND portal which is installed on a stand alone Java stack. So if the Solman is down, the ESS in the SND portal does'nt work. So i setup a SLD bridge between Solman - SLD and the SND -SLD with the hope that the ESS would work even if the solman goes down. I can now see all the systems and the corresponding information (under technical systems ) in the SND-SLD, as can be seen in the SOLMAN-SLD. Only important thing that is missing is the Jco connection information in the SND-SLD, which can be seen in the SOLMAN -SLD.
Now whenever a user accesses the ESS application in the SND portal, it takes the JCo destination information from the central SLD which is in the Solman. Is it posssible that in case the Solman -SLD goes down, the local SND-SLD can help the ESS application in the SND portal to locate the Jco destination. (Because in the Webdynpro Content Administrator of the SND portal in the " Check SLD Connection " i can see information for the Solman -SLD .) What additional configuration needs to be done so that i can include SND-SLD information as well along with the SOLMAN-SLD.
Please suggest.....
Regards,Hello Sai,
Thanks for the reply...yes i am aware that i need to change the settings in the SLD Data Supplier service in Visual admin on SND system so that it points to itself.But i am unsure if the ESS/MSS would work without the JCo destination information available in the SND-SLD.As i previously mentioned, i have set up the SND-SLD to receive the data from the Solman-SLD via the SLD Bridge.I can see all the systems and their information in the SND-SLD but i cannot the the Jco destinations in the SND-SLD for the portal systems.since the Jco information is not available in the SND-SLD the ESS/MSS in the SND portal would fail.....

I will be attempting to make a photo collage for my husband who will be retiring from the fire department. I have Photoshop 7 and have had some basic instruction. I want to make it probably 16x20 and will have it printed at a professional photo company. They have advised me to set it at 200dpi. What I am not sure is what resolution to set when I scan in my photos, what would you suggest? I want to make sure that whatever photo I make the focus background will look good as it will probably take up a lot of the collage. I am also looking for some design ideas and help in that area. Do you know of any good books to purchase or websites with that type of info. I want to do layering and different opacities and things like that. I want it to be eye catching and maybe not too cluttered with a nice flow. Not sure if there is any rule of thumb of how many pictures are good to use and that type of thing.
I would be grateful for any help, tips, or ideas that you may have. I would really like to make it a special tribute to him for all of his dedication and hard work over the years to his department.
Thank You in Advance,
Craftywahine (sometimes)The resolution you want to scan at depends on the relative size of the original images to the size you want to use it in your collage. If you have a one inch square image that you want to use as a 2 inch square image in your 200 res collage you should scan at 400. It's better to go a little larger than you think you need than smaller. Going alot larger just uses up memory and slows everything down. Go to www.scantips.com/ for good basic and advanced scanning info.
What kind of collage are you doing?
One kind I do is to have a background color and layer feathered selections on top and use a soft eraser to clean up edges. The images kind of blend together.
The other I use most commonly is to have many pictures, each with a stroke frame, sometimes all small, sometimes with a large featured photo in the center. Sometimes the pictures butt together evenly, sometimes overlapping. If I want to bevel the frames I leave the strokes on their own layers.
On one occasion where I had a lot of rather poor pictures of an event, I cropped out the best square of each image and added a white stroke border. I scattered the small squares across my background page, then added a drop shadow to the images. I have seen a similar technique with small images scattered around the edges to make a border on a large background image. It looked nice.
I suggest you go to http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/ and browse the user galleries. If you see something you like you can post to the forum and ask how they did it.
You might also try a search on that forum and this one on the words collage and montage. -
Hello , I just want to get basic knowledge for siebel crm.
Is this siebel CRM open source?
What about the licensing of Siebel ?
I am looking for open source CRM in java. So can anyone suggest me any other open source CRM in java?Siebel is a commercial closed source application.
The first name that came to my mind was SugarCRM. It's open source, but based on LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP).
Through this link I learned about Compiere and Daffodil (see bottom): http://www.erp.asia/sugarcrm.asp
They seem to be developed in Java. -
Hello
Our SLD is stored on central server, EP connect ot this server for SLD info and JCO definitions.
What will happen if we will take this server down for maintanance?
Can we cache the JCO info at the portal side for few hours , so no access to the central SLD will be needed?

If you have a central SLD I would think it is used more than for just JCo's so it may be implications on other components (XI/PI?)

Basic Backup Information....
Sorry about this – I am embarrassed to ask. My ‘Home’ folder in the left hand side of the finder contains ALL my files, right? Therefore, if I buy an external hard drive, can I just drag the home file to the ext HD thus backing up my machine? Can I then do this on the 3 macs I’ve got?
Is it REALLY that simple?
(Can anyone suggest a good ext HD?)
Thanks,
ATYes, but things can get more complicated. If you copy the home folder from you second computer, and it has the same name as that on the first, it will replace it with the second one. Once you do have a copy, you will want to use software that copies only new or changed files. You may want to keep copies of files that have been deleted from the computer's drive. You may want to keep older versions, as well as the latest.
There is lots of backup software out there software out there to make things easier. Leopard has Time Machine to manage backup files. -
[solved] basic pacman information
hi,
i was just wondering if pacman had a way to update the "upgradable packages" list, and is there a way to see the upgradable packages.
the only thing i found about pacman in the archwiki was -Syu but that seams to upgrade the packages when all i want is to know which packages can be upgraded
i come from debian where i used the aptitude package manager
aptitude update would update the packages list, aptitude search "~U" would list the packages that can be upgraded and dist-upgrade upgraded the packages (Sort of like -Syu)
so, is there any way to get similar outputs using pacman?
Last edited by red-guy (2011-03-21 07:40:16)The link I posted was to the Query flag: pacman -Qu will give you:
man pacman wrote:-u, --upgrades
Restrict or filter output to packages that are out of date on the local system. (Only package versions are used to find outdated packages, replacements are not checked here.) This option works best if the sync database is refreshed using -Sy.
S is the sync flag. -Sy syncs the database and Syu syncs & updates... -

How to use header information in line records while inserting into table?
Hi,
Requirement: Data in flat file needs to be loaded into Oracle Tables.
File has header information (basically file information, some account info) and Line information ( Actual data need to be loaded to oracle tables).
File has position based data, first 2 char for Header is 00 and line is 50
Now, header has some extra info which needs to be loaded along with details lines ( This has to be done using sql loader control file).
What should be the control file logic to capture header information in details lines?
Please suggest.
I am calling this control file from Unix, so I can change the control file definition dynamically by retrieving the first line of the data file and modify the control file before executing the sql loader command. Is there any option to achieve this using SQL LOADER commands?
Thanks,
Venkat.Pl post details of OS and database versions.
Use the WHEN clause to load header and detail lines into separate tables, then write PL/SQL code to perform needed post-processing.
See the examples in section titled "Distinguishing Different Input Record Formats" here http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e22490/ldr_control_file.htm

Strange axbridge issue with Visual Basic
I started having a very strange problem with my axbridge wrapped bean around the time I switched to JDK 1.5. Problem is, I can't seem to get rid of it by rolling back to earlier versions.
Here's what happens: I create a very simple non-visual bean:
package pack;
public class Bean1 {
public Bean1()
System.out.println("Constructor");
public boolean someMethod ()
System.out.println("1");
return false;
I then create Bean1.dll using the packager.exe provided with the JDK, and register it as part of the packaging process.
Then, I go into Visual Basic 6 and enter this code:
Private Sub Command1_Click()
Dim xx As Object
xx = CreateObject("Bean1.Bean.1")
End Sub
On the CreateObject call, Visual Basic gives me the error "Object variable or With block variable not set", which isn't helpful.
In the Java console with level 5 tracing turned on, I see this:

The only thing I've found in the bug database that seems even remotely related to this is bug 6391104, which is related to plugins somehow.
I do not understand why applets are involved in this at all.
When I try to instantiate the COM object from a C++ program, everything works fine. My problem only seems to occur with Visual Basic (version 6, not .NET).
This problem seems so fundamental that it seems impossible that no one else has run into it, but there 's nothing about it on any forum or buglist that I've seen. So, I figured there must be something very obscure wrong with my setup. However, I tried installing this on a brand new machine using my trivial case, and I still have the problem. I'm really at my wits' end. Anyone have any ideas?You definately want to go to CR 2008. I'd recommed that you call 866-681-3435 and ask about the possibility of getting a 30 day eval.

Trying to take a basic color pass from Resolve for a client in Resolve and send a CDL / EDL to them with the media. They will load media, open EDL and have the timeline populate showing the basic color applied using either Premiere or Speedgrade. Tried Adobe support (worthless)! Any help would be great.
Thank youHello Neil,
Thanks for the response. I understand about the Speedgrade / Premiere thing. What we are trying to do is essentially the reverse. I use DaVinci Resolve, my client is using Premiere to edit. They want me to do essentially a best light pass on the footage without rendering it out. I then would export a CDL / EDL from Resolve and they would load that into Premiere or Speedgrade whichever would then display the simple color grade using the Adobe color tools. The CDL generated from Resolve is a cross platform basic color information inside an EDL. Anyway I can't find a way for Premiere / Speedgrade to read this info yet. Supposedly It will in Final Cut X, although I haven't tried it since I don't have Final Cut X on my computer.

Basic EXIF metadata no longer shows in first overlay bar.
My Libraries have stopped showing the basic EXIF information in the top line of the Browser Metadata Overlay. Is anyone seeing this? I'll delete the user pref's, but I wanted to find out whether it's just me.
Screenshot:The top line, afaict, has always been reserved for the most basic EXIF metadata. It is centered (the lower lines are justified left) and in a larger, bolder font. (Ratings are shown on the left, and Badges are shown on the right.) The third (lowest) line appears when the second line is full.
In your example, does the first Image (the presentation title page/slide) _have_ the basic EXIF metadata of aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, and focal length?
It would be very useful to know the algorithm used for the display of the Metadata Overlays. Perhaps the arborists responsible for our sun-lit clearing will fill our lunch-cups with knowledge. (Whether a metadatum appears is set in the Browser and Viewer Metadata dialog, as is whether the metadata labels appear, and whether the top line of metadata is superimposed over, or shown below, the Image; _where_ the selected metadata appears is controlled by Aperture, in what is at present an unknown algorithm. The user has some control over the order of the metadata, but not complete control.)
One small note: my problem is restricted to the Browser. The Metadata Overlays in the Viewer are working as they always have (similar to your Image on the right of the two in your screen-shot). However I always get these five in the top line (all "checked" in the settings page): aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, and focal length. Have you un-checked some of them?
PS: Namibia!

Disable/Change DoS Settings
