BASIS SP 12 & 13 - Cannot logon using GUI after .....

Hi,
I am installing SAP XI 3.0 and as part of that I have installed the ABAP and Java WAS. I am applying SPs for the ABAP stack and I successfully applied the BASIS SPs 10 and 11(applied seperately). I was applying the SPs 12 and 13(together) and after running for some time the system crashed and I restarted the O/S and SAP to see that the SPs didn't go thru. Now when I try to log on using SAP GUI, it says "ABAP Runtime ERROR Error Code" which is blank and at the Bottom there is this message "Syntax Error in program SAPLSFES". I don't see the uid/pwd screen, where as I am able to connect to the Java system using the browser.
Any Clue ?

Thanks for the information provided on this thread.I was able to SOLVE the problem faced.
I faced a similiar problem when applying SAPKB70014 and SAPKB70015 (BASIS).
The import stopped at Patch level 14 and we had the same error in login screen : Error in SAPLSFES.
We first checked the contents of table TRJOB and TRBAT at OS level by logging into the database. Both tables did not have any entries.
the ULOG log file in /usr/sap/trans indicated the point where the import had failed.
We then ran the
tp showbuffer ER1 pf='/usr/sap/trans/TP_DOMAIN_SYSID.PFL' and checked for any running tp and R3trans processes.In our case , both jobs were not running.
A check in dpmon did not reveal any kind of background job activity.
After this we manually ran the tp command
tp r3i SAPKB70014 <SYS-ID> pf=/usr/sap/trans/<TP_DOMAIN_SYSID.PFL 
-Dclientcascade=yes -Dstoponerror=8 -Drepeatonerror=8 -Dsourcesystems= tag=spam
This was completed without errors.
We then tried login into SAPGUI. Again , we had the same error with SAPLSFES.
We then did a showbuffer using
tp showbuffer ER1 pf=/usr/sap/trans/TP_DOMAIN_SYSID.PFL and it showed that only SAPKB700015 was left to be imported.
We again manually ran tp r3i for patch 15 as well.
This step took some time (have some patience !!) , and after that the import was successfully finished with error level 4.
We then tried login into SAPGUI and it worked for us.

  • System message - Base document exchange rate cannot be used

    I need an Information ... when I use the function "Copy From" i get the Draft Document Wizard where i set "Use Exchange Rate from Base Document." But when I select "Finish" I get the following system message: "Basic Document Exchange rates can not be used, the rows will be updated using the exchange rate target document.
    Why??

    the exchange rate should be always as per the Posting date this is standard, how ever if you wish you can manually overwrite the defined exchange rate
    at the purchase side you define the system wether you want the exchange rate to be from based document or as per the posting date in choose  Administration -  System Initialization - Document Settings -> Exchange rate base date (A/P documents)

  • Cannot logon to Planning after Migration from V3.5.1 to V9.3.1

    I am upgrading Planning v 3.5.1 to Planning v9.3.1, the datasource and repository is sqlserver2000.
    Below is the Quick overview
    1Create a new database for your planning application
    2Create a datasource to the database
    3Create a fresh planning application make sure the admin is the same name as your old sourceplanning app
    4If the application owner is not the hyperion default admin account then Go into the database tables for the planning app and look at table HSP_USERS, store the SID value against user 50001
    5Stop Planning
    6Restore the sourceplanning application database over the one created in the first step
    7Go into the HSP_USERS table and update the SID for user id 50001 if you had to store the SID before
    8Start planning
    9logon to the Planning
    When I logon to the Planning there will be the error below:

    What I can tell is what happens in the background when it migrates, it runs SQL from version to version, the SQL is in <hyperionhome>\Planning\config\sql
    It also updates the version and release in table HSP_SYSTEMCFG
    So from 3.5.1 to 9.3.1 it would run

    As i mentioned in the above post, you should remove the references of :old and :new when you are trying to use the global variables. These values are only significant when you the talk about the record in the table.
    For the scenario, you explained, your trigger would insert two records....The trigger would be fired twice.. once during the insert and once during the delete. The audit table will have two records indicating both the actions..
    Take a look at this example below...I am artificially manufacturing a user id in the package test_pkg and using that in the insert trigger. As i explained above, you dont need the :old and :new references because the user id is not a column in the table . hence the :old and :new references have no relevance.
    Also note that, for the delete, I use the :old value and for the insert, I use the :new value.
    for update, I assume you want to store the old record and hence used :old (you can of course use :new too..technically.).
    I don't have access to a forms environement, but the user id logic should be similar to what I described below.

  • Cannot logon to account after a logout the night before

    I have a customer who cannot login after a logout. A restart fixes the problem. His Home folder is encrypted (File Vault) and he has discovered what appear to be duplicate or temporary Home folders that are coincident with the failed login. One from last Thursday, this Tuesday and this morning. Although it did not happen yesterday morning.

    Wow ok, I was able to solve this sooner then I thought.
    I simply had to login to the account I created when I first powered up the new mac.
    Go into users and reset the password for the account I had restored through time machine back up.
    But the problem remains of the time machine back up not properly restoring, I should not have had to do this. Im glad none the less I found a work around.

    Hi all,
    i configured ACE in multi context for failover. then i configured primary ACE using GUI after configuring server farm and click DM sync and SYNC all.Then i checked secondary ACE whether configuration is synced but its not sync with secondary.what might be the problem.

    do a 'show ft group detail' and make sure you have config synch enabled
    "Running cfg sync enabled : Enabled"
    If not, you need to turn it on.
    Also check the status.
    "Running cfg sync status "
    Sometimes it is enabled but not working because files can't be synched like ssl keys/certs or script probes.

    I have no problem opening PDF attachments that arrive in my Outlook 2003 Inbox; they open fine with Adobe Reader 9. It may be an issue with your email client.
    But if you think that Adobe Reader 8 will fix it, you can download it from http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/8.x/8.1.3/enu/AdbeRdr813_en_US.exe - make sure that you uninstall Reader 9 first (and Acrobat.com & Adobe AIR).

  • "Apple ID cannot be used for MobileMe" when setting up Find My iPhone app

    Okay, folks, spent some time with MobileMe support via chat this morning. This is what I've learned. Apparently you CANNOT use an Apple ID, regardless of what format it's in (usually a full email address) AS LONG AS IT'S ASSOCIATED WITH A MOBILE ME (ME.COM ADDRESS) ACCOUNT THAT IS CLOSED OR NO LONGER ACTIVE. Unfortunately, there is no way to disassociate the two and there is no way the old MobileMe (me.com address) account can be deleted.
    Apparently, I had some issue when I was trying out the MobileMe for the trial period many months ago and for some reason couldn't use my primary Apple ID (my primary email address), so I created a me.com address for the MobileMe account. Eventually, I cancelled the MobileMe account because the cost wasn't justified for the features it offered. Unfortunately, that association with my primary Apple ID is permanent and THAT is the source of the "This Apple ID canot be used for MobileMe" error. Or at least that's ONE reason for it.
    The solution? Create a completely new, separate Apple ID using a valid email address from which you can receive a verification email. The address is NOT used to receive any further emails from Apple. Only to create logon credentials. Do NOT associate this email address with your current/primary Apple ID or any other Apple ID. This is what you use to set up Find My iPhone/iPad, etc. using the MobileMe setup in Settings>Mail/Contacts/Calendars as well as the Find My iPhone App (plus it's your logon to the MobileMe Find My iPhone web page).
    When you log in to the MobileMe page, BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU ENTER YOUR APPLE ID IF IT'S A FULL EMAIL ADDRESS: apparently, the ID field automatically tries to change it to "[email protected]" instead of your "[email protected]". Just check it before and after you enter your Apple ID password and submit.
    I did this and it works. Find My iPhone app and service works beautifully. Spotted my iPad right where I'm at on a map. I sent a message to my iPad via the service (which also offers the option to play a sound, lock the device or even wipe the device).
    I hope this information helps SOMEONE.
    Oh...interesting footnote: I was informed that APPLE IDs CANNOT BE DELETED. Even if you create a "test" Apple ID (like I did during our troubleshooting session) with some barely used email account using a weak password. That means, regardless of whether you use it or not for MobileMe/Find My iPhone, you really, really need to give it a SECURE password (if you're going to keep that email account alive). So yeah, there are a lot of dormant Apple IDs floating around out there!

    I found this 'bug' out the other day when getting ready for my new iPhone I was setting up my iPad with some new apps too and wanted to work with Find My iPhone.
    Here's the deal; my main AppleID is just a simple 'Username' not a '[email protected]' AppleID.
    I've had this since the need for AppleIDs were used for these forums and the iTunes Store, AppStore, etc.
    So it works fine and well with that stuff but not with find my iphone on my iPad as it wants a full email account, either a '@me.com' or a '[email protected]' AppleID which I did create but I think it was used as Job profile or something other along those lines (NOT used for a MobileMe account or .mac either).
    And I only have access to one email now and I dont feel comfortable having multiple email addresses that I dont check or have no use for, call my simple or naive but thats just how it goes.
    What I'd like to do is be able to use either AppleID for my Find My iPhone app and everything else.
    And I think thats a good point, '@me.com's for all. make it a whole lot easier in my opinion.
    merge all the apple accounts you created into a MobileMe, simplifies the situation and makes it easier connect to all Apple Services.
    My itunes account, apple.com store account, appstore account, main AppleID for the past couple years it "Maxwell Stanley" but it does NOT work with Find My iPhone. So i created [email protected] (example.com is in place of my true email domain for privacy reasons) and that doesnt work as it statse it Cannot Be used.
    My 'Maxwell Stanley" Apple ID's email associated with it was [email protected] i tried changing it to [email protected] but still doesnt recognize that as an AppleID even though its associated with "Maxwell Stanley".
    I event ried to use the SAME email that is associated with my 2nd AppleID '[email protected]' with the appleid 'Maxwell Stanley' and no dice.
    running out of options it seems.
    Any idea on the best solution?

    I am using V11.1.2.2 Hyperion Planning. I am currently getting an error:
    Error : Period dimension 'Period' is missing a Base Time Period member 'Jun' that has been deleted since the last deployment. Base Time Period members cannot be deleted once the dimension is deployed
    This is what i got when i tried to add alternate hierarchy to my shared dimension. I tried to delete it and it messed up.
    NOw it wont deploy my application.
    Can any one suggest.

    I'm playing around with it to write a blog post and it is crazy. Only possible workaround (till now i'm not able to figure out a solution to it) is to copy the application and deploy it as a new one. Take copy of all objects (forms, tasklist etc). Delete the corrupted application and rename the new one to old.

    I´m trying to launch NWCE 7.1 Webdynpro applications accessing ABAP function with no success.
    The landscape consists of an SAP NWCE 7.1 EHP1 (Trial) and an SAP NW 2004s ABAP (Licensed). NW2004s is configured as Gateway and Message Server for the SLD. I can ping/test JCOs successfully and the SLD seems to work fine. RZ70 and SM59 show no errors in the "R3" side and both systems seem to be well-registered as Technical Systems.
    I have done some simple examples in Developer Studio to ensure that the conection between both stacks is going well, but I have allways the same issue regardless using ARFC/ARFC2, new projects/old existing projects, etc.
    When I test for first time the application, the following exception is thrown:

    The first two exception seem to be related each other, and it is true that FM "DD_DTEL_GET" is not RFC enabled in R3. Should it be RFC enabled?
    As far as I know, one of the JCO conectors is used for retrieving metadata, that is, data related to types, lenghts, etc. The FM "DD_DTEL_GET" is used for that kind of operations and the second exception is related to that aswell (com.sap.mdi.ddtypes.DDDataelement.getDescription).
    I don´t know what else should I test in order to launch an RFC function from WDJ and the trial version is about to expire!
    Does anyone know about any oss note or any other tips related to this issue, please?
    I am going to test the conectivity via Visual Composer and see whether it´s possible :S

  • Order unit cannot be used

    Hi Gurus,
    Our requirement is to used the order unit.. we have previous purchase order using the base unit of material and then i update the material indicating required order unit. When we create the Purchase Order some material did not hook the order unit for example base unit= EA(each) and order unit=REA(ream) in the PO EA reflect instead of REA
    and i want the order unit will be in the purchase order i try to change but the message pop-up "Order unit REA cannot be used"
    what will i do? I'm confuse why other material it's ok in order unit and some why did catch the order unit?

    Message no. ME898
    Diagnosis
    Unit REA is not intented as an order unit.
    System Response
    The system checks whether the order unit you entered is allowed for this purchase order by comparing the order unit you entered with the order unit that the system determined.
    The system checks the potential sources of the order unit in the given sequence. If a source is not available (if the purchase order is not referenced to a preceding document, for example) then the system checks the next possible source (such as a purchase requisition):
    1. If you create a purchase order with reference to a preceding document (purchase order, contract or request for quotation), the system copies the order unit from the preceding document.
    The Var. OUn (Variable order unit) indicator must not be selected in the purchasing info record.
    2. If you create a purchase order with reference to a purchase requisition and the Var. OUn indicator is selected in the purchasing info record, the system copies the order unit from the purchase requisition.
    In the Enjoy purchase requisition (ME51N), you can maintain the order unit on the item detail screen on the Source of supply tab. In the normal purchase requisition (ME51), you can maintain the order unit on the item details screen.
    3. When the purchasing info record for the combination of vendor and material exists, the system copies the order unit from the purchasing info record.
    4. If you create a purchase order with reference to a purchase requisition and the Var. OUn is not selected in the purchasing info record, the system copies the order unit from the purchase requisition.
    5. If you create a purchase order with reference to a purchase requisition and there is no existing purchase info record for the combination of vendor and material, then the system copies the unit of measure from the purchase requisition item in the item overview.
    6. If you create a normal purchase order, the system copies the order unit from the material master.
    7. When you create a stock transport order, the system copies the unit of measure from the material master.
    8. If the order unit and the unit of measure were not defined in the material master, the system copies the material's base unit of measure.
    9. If you create a service item, the system copies the default unit of measure.
    You can define the default unit of measure in Customizing for External Services Management under Source Determination and Default Values -> for Client.
    Note
    If the Var. OUn indicator is selected in the purchasing info record or in the material master (if no purchasing info records exist), it means that the system can use any unit of measure that has been defined in the material master.
    Procedure
    1. Check the relevant documents and master records (contract or purchasing info records).
    2. Select the Var. OUn in the purchasing info record or in the material master, if necessary.

  • VMware - I cannot logon to Windows 7 after upgrade to Yosemite

    After upgrading to Yosemite, I cannot logon to Windows under VMware Fusion 7.0.  It was working fine prior to the upgrade. The message I get when logging onto Window is,
    "The User Profile Service service failed the logon.
    The User profile cannot be loaded."
    I'm running on a Mac Pro Mid 2010 and Yosemite itself is otherwise working fine.  VMware was not running during the upgrade and re-start of the Mac.  I'm stuck and need to get this resolved any help is appreciated.

    I found the solution, I would have found it much earlier but just too tired and stressed from the week I guess
    Anyway it is NOT a Yosemite or even VMware issue, it figures it's just a good old Windows issue that dates back to at least 2010, why am I not surprised.   Probably as Windows was booting up and giving me the logon it was running anti-virus in the background and the user profile was corrupted, which means that Windows as usual was also not displaying a precise error message, just one that was close enough for Microsoft work. 
    The solution is easy especially if you can handle booting to Safe Mode and using Regedit, easier still if you have two user profiles in Windows even if one is just a duplicate of emergency uses, say like this.  The details can be found here, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215
    I was up and running within two minutes.  Whew.

  • Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication.

    I have gone through couple of posts regarding this issue but couldn't get the right solution. Could you please help what exactly we are missing here.
    Details:
    1) we have two SQL instances on one standalone machine (Default Instance (2008 SP3) + Named Instance (SQL 2012 SP1))
    2) Both instances are configured to accept SQL+ Windows authentication.
    3) when we give access to our users they are getting following exception if they connect with 'windows authentication'. (For both instances)
    Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication.
    Note: (Being a sys + windows admin I'm able to connect both the instances from same client machine without
    any issues)
    4) Also, we observed following error in windows application event log,
     SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x8009030c, state 14 while establishing a connection with integrated security; the connection has been closed. Reason: AcceptSecurityContext failed. The Windows error code indicates the cause of failure.
    The logon attempt failed   [CLIENT: 192.168.xxx.xyx]
    5) If we create SQL login it is working fine without any issues.
    Could someone guide/help  me identifying and fixing this issue.

    Are those Windows Logins associated to domain Windows accounts? Windows Logins work for domain accounts and local Windows account created on the server where the SQL Server instance is installed (and used to login locally to the server).
    Could you try to delete one of the Windows logins that fail to login , and try to recreate them?
