Batch cost

Hi ,
I have tried my best to write a query  to get batch cost based on landed cost and A/P invoice or goods receipt but could not get it.
I would be grateful if you can provide me a query which gives the batch cost for purchase taking into account landed cost and AP invoice.
The batch cost should be sum of landed cost and AP invoice.
Any body who answers this will be rwarded with maximum points.
Rgds,
Rajeev

Dear Rajeev,
If I understood correctly you want the item cost for the items with batch numbers.
The information is stored in the table OITW. I would suggest you to use this quick query to pull the information for batch items only:
SELECT distinct T0.[ItemCode], T0.[ItemName], T1.[AvgPrice], T1.[createDate] FROM OITM T0  INNER JOIN OITW T1 ON T0.ItemCode = T1.ItemCode WHERE T0.[MngMethod] = 'R' or  T0.[MngMethod] = 'a'
This query will give you the value of the item cost for every warehouse you have for that item.
If you want to see all the documents added then I would suggest you to get rid of the word Distinct.
Kind Regards,
Marcella Rivi

Please give your valuable advice in details how could i get above mentioned report in SAP.
Pls help me out from this thanks in advance.

It seems to me that you are trying to cost a batch based on its raw materials.
In this case, I would suggest using tables AFPO, AFKO and RESB.
AFPO can tell you the Process Order that created the batch
AFKO can tell you the reservation number that this process order used
RESB can tell you the cost of each raw material, at the time of the reservation
With all three you can cost the raw materials of each process and then find the batch that each process created.
I do not know if this will help in terms of yields though.  I also think you might need to be working with a Variable Cost type.  But I think, this would be the easier path.
    Hope this helps,

  • Value of by-product reduces overall batch costing

Does value of by-product reduces overall batch costing?

    Hi Anuj
    This is Ajay, not Amit
    1. the maintained std price applies to all process orders and not just one
    2. No need to create separate material type.. But, I prefer to have a separate one for the ease of reporting
    3. Costing sheet can not be set up this way... Once you run cost estimate, you have 2 types of cost elements in the itemization in CK11N
    a. Primary cost elements - for consumption accounts and sub contracting charges account
    b. Secondary cost elements - For Activity types (Catg 43)
    c. Overhead cost elements - Catg 41
So, the overhead can be calculated on (a) AND/OR (b).... The cost elements like Freight are not part of itemization in CK11N.... Only those cost ele which appear in itemization, can be used as a base to apply overhead upon
    Hope this helps

  • Batch cost in billing

    Hi all,
How can i make the cost (VPRS) in the bill to be the current cost of the batch.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    These notes are useful:
SAP Note 1365939 - VPRS logic and Customizing settings in SD
SAP Note 547570 - FAQ: VPRS in pricing
If you have the problem in the transfer from SD conditions to CO-PA, check if you transfer only invoices to COPA, if you don't invoice the deliveries of free goods, then you don't transfer this 'sales' or costs of 'gifts' to COPA. You can check the customizing of COPA in tcode ORKE (IMG for COPA). SAP Note 74486 - INFO: Overview of consulting notes for CO-PA is a good summary about this issue.
    I hope this helps you

  • Specific Identification Cost for batch managed items (Follow-Up from P2P)

Specific Identification Cost method is used for serial and batch managed item. Using this method, the outbound cost of such items would be the original cost of specific goods, which can be determined according to the serial or batch number of that item.
Business One allows the user to receive batch managed items with a batch number that already exists in the DB. It’s possible that the received quantity is added to on-hand quantity in the warehouse. In such case, the quantity on-hand of that batch and the received quantity may have different costs.
What should be the system behavior in such case:
    1. Block receipts to the same batch with different costs.
    2. Write the difference to a price difference account, as done in Standard Cost method.
    3. Manage the batch cost with Moving Average method.
This thread is continuation from 'Specific Identification Cost for batch managed Items' <a href="http://p2p.sap.com/businessoneforum?type=join&login=1&uid=41FB661A76CED536C825C4E2B6FF4397&cid=91&go=z37225">discussion</a> in P2P SAP Business One Forum (Product Development Collaboration).
Previous discussion on P2P is summarized in the attached file.

    Hi Peter,
This is a very important functionality that you are describing here. For example, in the Steel industry, it could be extremely useful to cost by batch or serial number.
If you receive a batch that already exists in the system and if the costing method for the product is moving average, then teh cost of the batch should be calculated based on the moving average as well.
If the costing method is standard, then the cost should go in a variance account.
If the costing method is FIFO, then it is a getting trickier...

  • Can PMAC be run Daily and Can we see the Batch Update Cost Daily?

    Dear Gurus,
My Client wants to see Daily Updated Cost each end of day Through PMAC. Is it possible to run daily and Can we also see the COGS too.
Now we have a Requirement here :
My Clinet During the Production Process uses : Boiler Fuel, Chlorine, Electricity, Caustic Soda,Chain Lube, Generator Diesel.
They would like to see each day how much has been consumed along with the cost during the Production Process at each end of the day and apportion the above things to all across the batches as per their KPIs (Key Performance Integrator).
Now the challenge we cant take these Parameter as ingredients in Formulas. So Please guide us in providing the solution.
They also informed us that they can not give these things in Hourly Basis. So Please Provide us the solution how to take this parameters to derive COGS..
    Please advice me.
    Regards,
    John

    Dear John,
In Actual costing, PMAC, by definition, derives the weighted average rate only at the month end. You can refer to last period cost as a reference to perform Batch Cost SIMULATION (COGM). Same is the case with simulated COGS.
Now coming to the problem of Cost Allocation. Let us discuss various options.
Option1: FOH - Let us start with the simple one:
    - Consider all the indirect mfg. expenses as a Cost Component - Factory Overheads.
    - Derive standard rate (FOH/Unit) and apply it to onto products based on cost driver such as Production Volume cost components.
    - Once FOH applied for the last period, current period can use this as reference.
Option2: Machine Recovery Rate, Utility Cost - Now let us try bringing in more precision by effective use of Routing definitions in Recipe:
    - You have mentioned that we cannot consider cleaning material, Utilities (Electricity, Water, Fuel) as a part of formula. So we consider Routing to absorb such cost (Equipment Cost, Utility Cost, Cleaning Material Cost) associating the Unit Rate to various activities in the Operations.
    - Define separate Cost Components - Equipment Cost, Utility Cost
    - With this definition, you will able to absorb the major part of the factory overheads in the production batches.
    - Rest of the indirect mfg. cost can be allocated onto the products as in option 1 at the month end @ actuals.
This is very interesting topic from Activity Based Costing view point. Let us request cost accountants to contribute to this discussion.

    Sanjeev

  • Cost for a Batch

    Hi,
How can i view the cost for a Batch in OPM.
We have a form in descrete manufacturing as WIP Value summary to view the cost for a Job.
is there any form in OPM 11.5.10.2?

    Hi
There is no specific form available in OPM to view the cost of a Batch.
But there are two types of Costs can perform the batch cost, one is Standard costing and Average costing. To know the cost of batch we need to perform few steps then you can see the results of the batch cost.
If you want furhter more details on how to perform step to get cost of the batch, I could share with you.

  • Is Batch wise costing possible in SAP (Pharmacutical Industry)

    Hi,
Could someone please help me with the below requirement.
    Details gathered from Client:
    1.     Every Raw Material (RM) has a Batch Number
    2.     Every SFG has a Batch Number
    3.     Every FG has a Batch Number
    4.     One Order = One Batch
    My Requirement:
    1.     How do we calculate the cost of every batch of RM that goes into the production of a SFG or FG.
    2.     and the  how do we calculate the Batch Cost of the entire SFG or FG.
I hope my question is clear.
    Thanks in advance...

Date wise trial balance can be created using report writer tools. Have done this for my clients.
Following activities have to be done:
Install table FAGLFLEXA using t.code: GRCT
You can do this by copying FAGLFLEXT, after copying, add additional fields like posting date, value fields like balance carryforward etc.
Create a report library using t.code GRR1 and reference the table FAGLFLEXA or FAGLFLEXT
Create a report under the library created above
Using report writer or report painter you design the report same as F.08
Let me know your email id, will provide the detail screenshots.

  • Cost of C-Stock

    Dear all,
    I have following scenario :
We create a SO , which generates a PR, then PO and hence subsequent GR.
That mean Stock comes with Mov. type 101 E.
I want a condition type which shows the actual cost of the batch specific to sales order.
VPRS is not serving that purpose.
Tried EK01 etc. but not found any use here.
Is there any standard condition type in system for displaying cost of sales order specific stocks OR do I need to create a new routine for it ?
    Please guide.
    Points assured for helpful answers.
    Best Regards,
    Gaurav Raghav.

    Hi Roberto,
we have implemented an EXIT which records PO number in one of the batch char. at the time of GR.
So, batch cost , we will find from PO itself for each material in the Order.
    Thanks for your inputs.
    Best Regards,

  • Cost of materials Issued to be captured against a process order

    Dear Gurus,
I Issue Some consumables for cleaning purpose before the start of an order. This consumables are Issued against manual reservations raised by production department. But We want the cost of these consumables to be billed to the process order batch (cost of the product). But I do not want to maintain thses materials in the BOM of the product.
What is the best way to do it.
    Regards
    Sri.

    Dear
User T.Code : MB1A and Movement Type : 261 and enter, then enter the production order and below you can enter teh mateirals that are to be issued. Once you post it the cost of the consumables are captured on this production order.
While Creating a Reservation in MB21 your production people can create the reservation against the production order with the materials that are to be issued.
    Hope the above helps.

  • Batch wise Price-- Possible ?????

    Dear SAP Gurus,
Is it possible to maintain price for each individual batch in SD or MM??? as for example Plant-material-Vendor-Batch combination.
If not directly possible- any work around??? anybody worked on it?
    Regards,
    Sarang

    Hi Santosh,
Using condition records including batch has many restrictions as given below:
    1. This is only possible if you want to determine batch on Sales Order level.
If so, then you must enable the functionality that Order should not save until correct batch has been identified.
That mean , we will not be able to create Open Orders.
    2. Batch may be altered in Delivery, suppose anyone has changed the batch in delivery , then again the calculation will go wrong.
As per your question, I think you can construct such condition tables since field CHARG is already available in catalog.
alternatively  you can follow the following :
If you have Batch enabled at Order Level:-
You can catch Batch Cost Price in VPRS or Some Other Condition.
(ii) Then, Add another condition say ZBSP(Batch Specific Price) in your pricing procedure. make it statistical.
add a routine which checks for the value in VPRS, adds relevant margin and and Displays Batch Price.
If you have Batch enabled at Delivery Level:-
in order , you can give some average price value,
Then, In Billing , You will come to know the exact Batch Specific Price.
Hope this information adds to your requirement.
    Plz reward if found useful.
    Regards,
    Gaurav Raghav.

  • OPM Process Execution and OPM Standard Costing for Poultry Business

I have a business requirement from the client at their Poultry Processing plant where the client feels that the OPM Execution steps are too cumbersome until closing the batches. The client wants to maintain minimum number of batches in Production: one for Primary, one for Secondary and one for Further Processing, rather than having multiple batches based on different formulas. There are 3 main types of processing which can be briefly described as follows:
    A.) Primary Processing:
Live Birds (Ingredient) become Whole Dressed Chicken with Neck, without Neck, Liver, Heart, etc... (40 Finished Products)
e.g. Live Birds (Broiler) -> Whole Dressed Chicken with/without neck, Whole Dressed Chicken with/without neck, etc.
    B.) Secondary Processing:
Only one type of Whole Dressed Chicken (from Primary Processing) become Chicken Cuts (80 Finished Products).
e.g.[Scenario B1] Whole Dressed Chicken (Broiler) -> Drumsticks, Thighs, Wings, Breasts, Backbone, etc.
[Scenario B2] Breasts -> Filets and Deboned Breasts (2 FGs)
[Scenario B3] Thighs -> Thighs in Plain Bag
Please note that the Whole Dressed Chicken is also sold as a Finished Good as well as an Ingredient for the Secondary Processing.
    C.) Further Processing:
Chicken Cuts become 40 Finished Products
e.g Filets -> Chicken Nuggets, Chicken Fries, etc...
The client is using Standard Costing method for its OPM Financials and all the finished products (160 Products in all) are having different production cost. Please note that 1 kg of Chicken Wings is not equal to 1 Kg of Chicken Thighs. Different body parts have different costs. In order to alleviate the maintenance of multiple batches per day on the production floor, the client wishes to have minimum batches. We therefore would wish if you can confirm the below approach to be correct?
    a.) OPM Process Execution:
    ==========================
    EITHER should I (Option 1):
a.) Create ONLY 3 Formulas for Primary, Secondary and Further Processing . The 3 Formulas will have all the processing line Finished Products grouped together (as per the scenarios explained above). Formula for Primary and Secondary Processing can also combined together, reducing it to only 2 batches to maintain per day.
b.) Can set any Quantity Values for the Ingredient, Product and By-Product in the Formula details with ANY Cost Allocation (amounting to a total of '1') in the Products section
c.) Set the Validity Rules as 'PRODUCTION' for the 3 Recipes
d.) Complete the steps defined in the 'OPM Cost Management' (as described below)
e.) Create the 2 or 3 batches and record the appropriate quantities at the end of the day before closing the batches
    OR should I (Option 2):
a.) Create MULTIPLE Formulas (above 100 formulas) for Primary, Secondary and Further Processing based on the different products processed.
b.) Can set any Quantity Values for the Ingredient, Product and By-Product in the Formula details with ANY Cost Allocation (amounting to a total of '1') in the Products section
c.) Set the Validity Rules as 'PRODUCTION' for the 3 Recipes
d.) Complete the steps defined in the 'OPM Cost Management' (as described below)
e.) Create the MULTIPLE batches and record the appropriate quantities at the end of the day before closing the batches.
    b.) OPM Cost Management:
    ========================
Whether (Option 1 or Option 2) selected, the below needs to be set for OPM Costing:
a.) Define multiple formulas (above 100), as in Option 2.
b.) Set the Quantity value to be '1' for the Ingredient, Product and By-Product in the Formula details with the appropriate Cost Allocation in the Products section
c.) Set the Validity Rules as 'COSTING' and 'PRODUCTION' for each Recipe
d.) Run Cost Rollup at least once so that the products can have an item cost per unit
As per me, for the purpose of Costing, it would be imperative to have multiple batches (created one time only) with appropriate Cost Allocation in the Formulas and the ‘Recipe Use’ in the Validity Rules should be set as ‘COSTING’. Then, setting Profile Option 'GMF: Use Only Costing Validity Rules for Cost Rollup' to 'Yes'. In this way, we are sure that the different products in the formula with correct Cost Allocation will have their Item Cost calculated after performing the Cost Rollup. AND, for the purpose of operations, we can only one combined formula of Live Birds (as Ingredients) to yield -> All FGs for Primary and Secondary Processing with Cuts. But, this time, the ‘Recipe Use’ in the Validity Rules of the Recipe should be set as ‘PRODUCTION’.
I want to confirm which approach (Option 1 or Option 2) is more appropriate in terms of Operations and confirm that the above proposed steps are correct with no circular reference (as certain finished products are also used as ingredients for another product in the Secondary Processing)?
    Thanks and regards

    Hi Raveesh
I am implementing OPM R12 in Poultry Processing business, I think option 1 (Create 3 formulas/recipes/batches) is more appropriate. In my case we are using actual costing (Moving Average) as a costing method.
I have set the profile option GMF: Cost Allocation Factor Calculation to be "Dynamic" to calculate the batch cost allocations as a ratio of actual quantity of each product produced to the total production batch output quantity and I have used OPM Financial Cost Allocation process to allocate GL expenses on different products based on Fixed percentage % according to product "value" where Filets has a return more than wings.
Can you please share your knowledge in this business area and confirm to what extend my approach is correct ??
    Thank you and best regards

  • To allocate to production order using template

    hi everybody!
I am having issue about allocating cost.
In product costing, there is a cost, called Batch cost. That means all cost which is relevant a production batch is only allocated to production orders belong that batch. I am opposed to use Business process to collect all cost relevant a Batch cost. Then allocate cost by template from Business process to Production orders which belong that Batch.
But i don't know what will i maintain and configure template?
    may anybody help me?
    Thanks in advance

    hi..
Actually Batch is nothing but to identify a product by defining some unique number throughout the process of manufacture.
So, (1) One individual prod can be a batch
          (2) On bundle of products may be a batch
          (3) One process cycle can be a batch
              so on ....
So if you have specific order for specific batch, then  you allocate cost to that order it will go productwise/batchwise.
If you give some more details it will be easy to suggest.

  • Data conversion into SAP B1

    Hi all,
First time poster with a newbie question.
I am a project manager working with a consultancy in implementing SAP B1.  Our old system is SBT.
One of the tasks to be done is to import four "inventory" fields into SAP (about 2700 rows total):
    Bin location
    Batches
    Cost
    Quantity on Hand
    I have two questions:
    (1) I have a friend who is experienced in SQL data transfer.  He said he could easily write a program to insert data directly into the SQL tables.  When I mentioned this to my SAP consultant, he said that this is a HUGE no-no due to system complexity, high potential for errors down the road, etc.  Would you agree with him?  Or is he just trying to save his company from losing business?
    (2) If the consultant does the data transfer, he estimates 2 days of work (using SAP Data Transfer Workbench).  To me, this sounds like a lot of time!  My data transfer friend says he could do the entire transfer in an hour or two.  Do you think that 2 days of work is a reasonable amount of time for importing these four inventory fields into SAP?
Thank you for any help you can offer.

    Lin,
SAP does not Support any kind of Direct data manupulation with their SQL Tables.  Everything has to flow through DI API.
This being said Data Tranfer Workbench is the way to import the 4 peices you are needing to import.
Regarding the time line, it could be done in 10 hours or it could take a week, it will all depend on how the data is currenly available.  If your data is accurate and all values are mapped in an Excel it could take 2 days or less.  If your data is not in the right format it could take more.
2 days is a reasonable estimate.  One thing to remember is importing data into SAP is not a tough job but it is a time consuming job.
    Best wishes
    Suda
