Batch Dialog and Model Data Properties

This is an excerpt from batchuutdlg.c in the teststand models folder. Is there a way to recreate this in labview or Teststand so i can have the dialog box come up with specific sockets disabled status checked. i have taken care of this in the model so it doesn't matter if the operator tries to use the socket, but I want to make it obvious that they should not try to enter a serial number for that socket.

I did come up wih a solution. i used the windows api to tabb and space to check the neccessary disable sockets boxes. This works fine. I call it in a single step which loops from on all sockets (see the attached jpeg for those settings). The Step calls a VI which consists of a library node call to user32.dll in the windows system folder. I have attached this VI as well. I would like to here a cleaner solution that allows me to modify the data structure inside modelsupport2.dll.

Hi Vijay,
You need check following thing to resolve this issue.
1. Check the your host file entries for CRM System (Start>Run>enter 'drivers'>etc>hosts)
2. Check SLD test is successfull or not.
3. As per your error message group PUBLIC not found. Check in the CRM system (T-code : SMLG) whether PUBLIC group is available or not.
Then check JCO destination parameter again and test it.

10.1.3r3 - JAZN Data Properties dialog bug

JDev team,
The JAZN Data Properties dialog in 10.1.3r3 has a bug. Once you've defined your own realm, users and policies in a jazn-data.xml file, closing and returning to the dialog for the same file you cannot see the entries you previously made within the dialog.

Hi,
You need to activate shelf life expiration check in T.Code OMJ5 for movement type 101 and also plant.
This will activates the entry of Shelf Life expiration/Production Date at the time of goods receipt.
If you are using std. SAP Characteristic (LOBM) for Manufacturing Date,Best Before Date and Goods Receipt Date then the value of this characteristic will updates automatically in Batch ,depends on your goods receipt data.

Modelling Time Dimension with Fact Table containing Start Date and End Date

Hi Gurus,
I have a time dimension with Year till Date. I have a fact table which consists of Start Date, End Date, Person ID, Department ID.
How do i design Time dimension with fact table the below scenario
In the dashboard i have start Month and End month as prompts.
In the report i need to display Count(Person ID) > Start Date and < End Date along the trend.
For instance, i have selected Jan-2009 as start date and Apr-2009 as End Date, then i need to display Count(Person ID) of Jan-2009, Feb2009, Mar-2009 andApr-2009.
I Can not connect Time dimension with only Start Date or only with End Date to get the trend along the months.
Please advice on the issue which i am having.

Thanks for the response, Infact i tried using Complex join in physical layer. I have considered Time table joined with Fact table, and used >= and took and alias of the Time table and joined fact table using <=. When coming to BMM, i am not knowing how do i design this as if i merge the both the time dimensiona and its alias into single table, values will not be correct and if i make them as seperate columns. i can not show the trend as both are different columns.

New To SQL Developer Data Modeler - Data Dictionary Report

I am new to Data Modeler and I am currently learning what I can do and can't with it. Is there a way to generate a "Data Dictionary" report? We would like a report we can distribute that describes all tables and columns with descriptions and comments. We used to use an old version of Power Designer and we could do this from the data model we created. Is it possible to do something like this from SQL Developer Datas Modeler?

Saxon is just an option, you don't need it by default.
Could be permissions problem. What are you working on i.e. OS? What java version do you use?
Even though you have specified directory for the reports do you have permissions to write there?
Report generation directories priority is:
1. Custom directory if specified in Settings->Data Modeler->Default Reports Directory
2. /datamodeler/reports/
3. User home directory
You must have permissions somewhere on these directories. On the other hand you are saying that report_data.xml is generated so you have permissions.
Okay. Now I saw a bug in 710. When you click "Generate report" there are progress dialogs and result dialog, but if you meanwhile click somewhere or change focus, these dialogs are hiding below main "Reports" dialog i.e. you are not seeing them. If you use Alt+Tab the result dialog will popup. This bug is fixed in the next release.
So you must see either result dialog or error dialog at the end of report generation. If not check with Alt+Tab if it is not hidden somewhere below and if there is no such dialog close the DataModeler and check the log file for some error.
There is SQL Developer Data Modeler 3.3 Early Adopter Available.

HCM errors in phase Identify Objects for Transfer and Start Data Selection.

Background: We are using TDMS HCM PA PD Expert package to transfer all of the HCM data
We are using TDMS 4.0 SP 5. We are trying to do the Configuraition in Identify Objects for Transfer and Start Data Selection.. In this phase, we are encountering the issue of 'choose to confirm to trigger data selection'. The only option in this activit is'confirm batch' and 'confirm online'. Even if we press the button, we are still encountering issues. What selections then or values can we use?Thank you. Kindly see screen shot

Hello Meinard,
There could be two issues:
First check if you have assigned the target ranges for the dialog user which you are using to select data from sender system. You need to maintain target ranges in activity 'Define target ranges for users' which you can find under activity "Configuration and Utilities in Control system".
Secondly, there could be authorizaton issues for the sender system user. Check for any authorization issue in SU53 in sender system for the user which you used to logon to sender system.

TestStand Queue with LabVIEW (replacing Batch Dialog)

Hi,
I want to replace the default Batch dialog UI with one made in LabVIEW with as little change as possible in the original processmodel (BatchModel.seq).
To accomplish this, I want to use the "Create Dialog Request Queue" in the process model. I've attached a small example.
There are 2 issues I'm struggling with:
1: The process model use a type named "NI_BatchControllerRequest" and name the container "ControllerRequest" in the "ProcessDialogRequests" sub sequence. Can I pass this as a LV Cluster and Variant (see example).?
2: I can't seem to get the Queue reference in LabVIEW (see LabVIEW example). It works fine if I use a name (string) instead, but the Queue in the process model use Object Reference, and I would like to keep this setting.
TestStand version: 4.2.1
LabVIEW version: 2009
(I would also like to implement this in TS 4.0 and LV 8.0)
I'd appreciate any help on this.

I am getting the property object from Locals.ModelData.DialogRequestQueue from the sequence context of the top-level thread of the execution. The problem with GetSyncManager is that it requires the name of an object (for which there is none). I have the object itself.
I have also tried to convert the object directly to a queue or a sync manager, but the conversion fails.

OPA 10.4 - batch processor and Entity

Hello all.
I have a problem with the use of Entity with batch processor.
The fact is we want to use OPA with csv input named like "TARIF_ONE.csv". One different csv for every way of tarification and each time a different project that will be call by a batch process (the client need)... without the use of a configuration file !
So, if I well understood the OPA batching process, I need, for a "TARIF_ONE" project to be feed with a "TARIF_ONE.csv" file, to have a "TARIF_ONE" entity that will get all the data from the csv input file.
I've done so.
But my problem is that when I call the OPA zip by batch, the TARIF_ONE entity are well feed by the data from the csv file... but the calculation from the excel file are not made at all... and in a exporttsc file, the Entities (TARIF_ONE) are set as "unknown" for all the cases inputed...
I've setted my project like this :

To do this create a csv file that has the same name as the public name of your entity. For example if you have an entity with the name "person" then create a person.csv file for each entity instance.
You will need to have a reference to which global instance each entity instance relates to. The way to do this is to have a column named for the containment relationship for the entity to hold the foreign key to the entity instances parent.
Example
We have a global.csv with 3 globals (3 cases)

3,And then a person.csv with 7 people which must all be link to their owning (parent) global. This is done through the containment relationship with the public name "all_persons"

LUW stands for Logical Unit of work.
Its a way of binding data together(multiple CIF queues under a single entity)
It is useful to maintain the atomicity of data.
For ex :- Say u have 5 materials under a single TLB order and u have sent that order to R3 for recieving number.If any of those materials is having master data which doesn't satisfy the filter criteria for Integration Model then the whole LUW will be blocked.
Signifies the entire data set will be passed on as a single LUW.
For CIF batch Jobs could you please explain what exactly you want to know.

Any way to use OBDC in SAP to access MySQL DB and retrieve data

I'd like to logon to an external MySQL DB (can de done easily enough with PHP)   but I'd like to do it with ABAP if possible.
Connecting via OBDC I should be able to retreive the data from the DB and then use it in my SAP application.
Some databases will allow connection via

If you can make this type of stuff work for a MySQL DB i'd appreciate the answer.
Using PHP has a drawback as you need to have it installed on the front end PC and run in Foreground.
The EXEC SQL commands run in batch which is what you need if you are talking about 100,000's of records from an external DB.

Currently it doesn't seem to support MySQL.
Now that SAP has taken over again the development of MAXDB I can't see it providing direct MySQL to SAP functionality.
MAXDB is available but that would mean changing the entire architecture and we don't want to do that.
I think probably the best route to go would be to create a BAPI which is capable of performing a logon to the remote MySQL DB server, get the data and either send it back as IDOCS, an external flat file, or as an internal table depending on the volume of data to be retrieved.
The good thing about MySQL is that the command line interface makes logging on and retrieving data quite simple.
This data is actually wanted in a BI / BW system to provide for a number of business proces analyses.
I did think abut using "Web Services" but the data retrieval will essentially be done offline.
There is no requirement currently for transferring data FROM SAP back to the MySQL database ( although if you've ever dealt with top level management you know how quickly developments can change).
PHP for all it's drawbacks is the really easy way - but we'll have a problem doing this in background from the SAP servers. For foreground tasks it's a real doddle if you have php on your front end.

Just wanted to post that in my case this was the error of MVT_IND field in item table. When I made it from 'B' to blank then it worked.
