Batch for Components in REM

Hello All,
Can someone tell me where do I specify Batch Numbers for Components and Final Assembly in Repetetive Manufacturing. In discrete Manufacturing (inside Production Order), when I click BOM, the bom shows up and Batch number field shows next to components which are Batch Managed. But in Repetetive manufacturing inside 'Planned Order', when I clicked BOM, it showed me the BOM components, but did not show me the field next to them where I could put a Batch number for the components, managed by batches.
Can someone throw some light.
thanks in advance,
Sachin

Hi,
U can assign the Batch Number for Finished material at MFBF screen . For Components batch number check with "Postwith correction screen " of MFBF. If u set bacth search procedure at REM profile batch number for Components will com automatically.

  • Batch Determination - Enter batch for components in Subcontracting PO

    Hello,
Problem: Unable to enter multiple batches of child components in subcon PO
Here is the scenario. Semiconductor industry. We have a subcontracting PO for a die for which child components are wafers. We would like to enter multiple batches of wafers and we want to specify this in the PO.
We can enter 1 single batch number for the child component
but if we enter the child again to specify a different batch number the batch field is greyed out.
Can anyone help me with this problem.
    Thank you
    SD

Go in to the PO and click on Material at item level. Click on Components and you can enter more than 1 batch number there.

  • Problem in automatic batch determination for components in process order

    hi
Ours is a process order industry. Here we prepare food items.
We are entering manual batch for finished product. We want to perform automatic batch determination for one of the components raw material. For other packing material we do not want to maintain batches.
The batch procedure picked is me0001 for 261 movement type instead of C00001.
Because of that we need to enter batch manually.
Send us the procedure to automatic batch determination for components.

  • Auto batch detmn for components in Process Order selects batch in Q status.

    Hi Gurus,
We have the following issue with automatic batch determination for component batches for a Process Order:
Say for a Process Order it requires components A,B, and C.
The issue is with component C. if the PO requires 100 Qty of C. the system is picking batch X having 80 qty  and picking 20 from another batch Y which is still in u201CQu201D status (due to some defects it is not cleared .  for which inspection should have completed 3 days before Process Order is released).
Also there are only these two batches for this component in MMBE.
What I understand is system adds GR date + GR processing days ( for inspection) and release component for production after that (ie., moves to Un restricted stock). Therefore system selects this batch as per the availability check (by calculating the GR+ GR processing date) even thoe it is not cleared yet.
Also, I want to know If this is correct procedure, how can we make system to not to include batch with Q stock (batch which is having some defects).
    Thanks,
    N.

    Hi
Use separate Checking Group(Availability Check) in MRP-3 view for comp C with the settings in OPJJ(Availability Check+Checking rule combination) with untick incl.quality insp stock. Idea is to select the un-restricted batch stock qty during Auto Batch determination for Components

  • Field "Batch" mandatory for components in Purchase Order

    Hi,
If a PO with item category 'L' subcontracting is created, the system explodes the material BOM for the material being purchasesd. In the subcreen for components in the purchase order (as determined by BOM explosion), there is an option to assign batches for each component. I want to make the batch field mandatory so that when the PO is created, the user has to input batches. How can this be accomplished? Help is appreciated, thanks.
    Regards

    1. All components are batch managed.
    2. All materials are stored in batches.
    3. The reason for this requirement is that if batch numbers for components are not specified in PO, when GR is done for finished good received from subcontractor, subcontractor stock is not consumed.
E.g. 100 KG of component is posted to subcontractor stock (mvt. 541)
PR -> PO created. No component batches entered in PO. GR posted for finished good. Stock balance updated for finished good but MMBE still shows 100 KG of component stock with subcontractor. If batch numbers are entered for components in PO, then stock at subcontractor end is consumed.
If someone can tell me how to fix this without entering batch numbers for components in PO I wil be just as happy.

  • Multiple batches for a production order and mapping with components

    Hello Gurus,
Our business requires to create multiple batches for one production order + they want to trace which component in the production order has been issued to the main equipment.
For example, I am creating production order for 'A' equipment for 4 qty. Business wants to create 4 different batches for these equipment
    Lets say now 4 batches are created A001, A002, A003 and A004.
Now lets assume 2 nos of 'B' component are required for 1no of 'A' component. So the requirement of B component is 8.
    Lets say 8 batches are generated B001, B002 ......B008
Now lets say batch B001 and B002 are issued for A001 and packed together. How do we map this?
I understand we can do some enhancement for creating the multiple batches but I still dont know how to map them with each other.
    Please help

    Hi Ethan
There is a functionality called WIP batches, that allows you keep the batch traceability within an order.
With WIO batches you can track which batch of component was used to produce each batch of finished product.

  • Deafult batch for component in process order

    Hi Experts ,
in one of the scenario the client requirement is the batch number for eg- "a" , should be automatically populated in the batch number column of the component in process order while saving or while release.
this should be done only for components  that are  backflush active.
can it be done by any user exit /Functionm module etc...
    please advice.
    regrds,
    satish

    Dear Satish
Please check the following setting in customizing ,
    T.code OPJ2 -
Operation for batch determination - 3 ( check during backflushing )
give SDR as per the business requirement and activate BD indicator .
For SDR ( Stock determination rule ) use T.code OSPX ,here you can
sort or can give prioriy .
Please try this ,otherwise go for enhancement /user exit

  • Backflushing serialised components with REM

    Hi guys,
I am aware of OSS note 100621 and therefore I know that SAP do not provide a process for backflushing serialised components in REM!
However, I was wondering whether there is a bespoke alternative or work-around process for backflushing serialised components during repetitive manufacturing?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Paul

100621 - MFxx with components requiring serial number
    Version 3
    2 Validity: 05.12.2000 - active
    Language German (Master)
    English
    Compare versions SSCR Download
Content:    Summary   |   Header Data   |   Validity
    Symptom
During the backflush you cannot enter a serial number for components. The system generates error message IO304 or M7175 inevitably.
    Other Terms
    MF40, MF4U, MF42, MF43, MF44, MF45, MF46, MF47, serial number, MFBF
    Reason and Prerequisites
    The components require serial numbers.
    Solution
For the backflush in repetitive manufacturing you must only use components for which no serial number requirement exists. This also applies to a manual withdrawal posting.
The menu path 'Goto - Serial number' specified in message M7175 is of no importance for repetitive manufacturing.
In contrast, serial numbers for goods receipts can be assigned by assemblies (as of Rel. 4.5).

  • Rule based ATP is not working for Components

    Hi All,
Our requirement is to do availability check through APO for Sales order created in ECC,so we are using gATP.
Requirement: We are creating salesorder for BOM header (Sales BOM) and avaialbility check should happen for components i.e. Product avalaibility & Rule based substitution.
Issue: Product availiabilty is working for components but rules based substituion is working,  mean Rules are not getting determind for components.
    Settings:
    - Header doesnot exist in APO and compnents do exist in APO
    - Availability check is not enabled for header item category and enabled for Item category for components
    - Rules have been created for Components in APO
    - Rule base ATP is activated in Check instructions
We have also tried MATP for this i.e. PPM created in APO but still didn't get the desired result.
If we create salesorder for the component material directly then Rule based ATP is happening, so for components Rule based ATP is not working.
How do we enable enable Rulesbased ATP for components, i mean is there any different way to do the same.
    Thanks for help.
    Regards,
    Jagadeesh

    Hi Jagdeesh,
If you are creating BOM in ECC and CIFing PPM of FG/Header material to APO, I think you need to CIF Header material, too, with material integration model.
Please include header material in you integration models for material, SO and ATP check as well.
For component availability check, you can use MATP; but for MATP, FG should be in APO. You need not to CIF any receipts of FG (stock, planned orders, POs etc), so that MATP will be triggered directly. Then maintaining Rules for RMs will enable to select available RMs according to the rule created.

  • Goods receipt of more than one batches for Production Order

    Hi ,
We are assigning the Batch number in CO01 t code as A1234.1 for Order quantity 100.
I am doing the partial GR and also for the next successive GR's I want to do the GR with batch number as A1234.2, A1234.3..
System is not allowing me to do the Goods recipt for the Batch A1234.2, .3, .4...in MB31.
Please let know if any other way to Goods Receipt.
    Amit Shah

We are assigning the Batch number in CO01 t code as A1234.1 for Order quantity 100.
Dear You are assigned the Batch number in production order, SO It won't allow other than That Batch Number during GR.
IF you want different batch for each GR then remove the Batch assignment in Production order

  • Gr in more than one batch for 1 prd ord

    Hi Gurus
I have a tipical problem. We have batch creation at the time of order release. Now some times due to some process error we recevie output with different characterstics so the whole output cannot be said as one batch. Is is possible now to do GR in 2 different batches.
Also this happens some time so i cannot go for batch creation at material movement as it will always create new batch.
    Regards
    Abhishek Rai

    Abhishek,
You can implement the user-exit EXIT_SAPLCOBT_001 under enhancement PPCO0001 where-in based on your requirement you can create multiple batches for your production order. We have used this user-exit at current client to create multiple header batches based on header material characteristics and store the information in a custom table to validate while doing GR.
You can use CALL FUNCTION 'VB_CREATE_BATCH' to create the batches as per your requirement having the characteristics value that you want.
Also make sure the automatic batch creation setting in Prodn Scheduling profile has been turned-off so that the batch is created only through the user-exit.
    Please try and revert back.

  • Manual entry of batches for finished product

    Dear Guru's,
I want the manual entry of batches in the production order & automatic batches for raw materials. I have maintained the autoamtic batch number assignment as Inactive in T-code OMCZ. After maintaing this system is asking for manual entry for batches for raw materials also. I want the manual entry for production order & automatiic entry for raw materials.
I have changed the setting to " No automatic batch creation in production / process order" in production scheduling profile through T-code CORY. Assigned this production scheduling profile in work scheduling view. Even though I am facing the problem.
Hope it is clear. Need your inputs.

    Dear,
Kindly follow the path > logistic general > Batch management >Define Batch Creation for Goods Movements (here you can use function for creation of batch against movement type)
    > logistic general > Batch management > Define Initial Creation of Data for Batch Master Transaction (Here you can use function for creation of batch against material type)
    Kindly check and revert back.

  • How to create a batch for a material, with batch characteristic input?

I am currently using BAPI_BATCH_CREATE to create batch for materials in my program. However, I find no way to input the batch characteristics. Is there any existing function module responsible for that? Thanks!

    Hi,
You can use FMs 'CLVF_INSERT_AUSP' or 'CLVF_INSERT_AUSP' to insert or update characteristics for materials.
    In the structure INS_AUSP or UPD_AUSP -
OBJEK corresponds to the material number,
    ATINN is the characteristic name,
KLART is the class type which is '001' for materials, and
    ATWRT is the characteristic value.
Populate values into the above fields for the batch of materials and call this FM.
    Reward points if found useful...!
    Cheers
    Abhishek

  • CO07 and special stock indicator for components

    Hello,
My final purpose is to be able to call components from project stock in production orders without header material, created in CO07.
I notice a strange behavior and would be glad to recieve some explanations.
Production orders are assigned to a WBS. If I indicate the WBS in the CO07 selection screen, the special stock indicator for the components is determined as expected:
If view MRP 4 for the component says "Individual requirements" then special stock indicator is set to "Project stock"
If view MRP 4 for the component says "Collective requirements" then special stock indicator is set to "Common stock"
Second scenario is that I don't provide the WBS in the CO07 selection screen, but provide it in the assignment tab later. In this case, the special stock indicator for components will always be empty (common stock) by default, without any possibility to modify this manually.
Is anybody able to explain me why?
    Merry Christmas to all.

    Hi!
Actually it is not related to SAP Manufacuting Execution solution - so you'd rather re-post the question to ERP-related forum. This can help you find a proper one.

  • Default item category for components in task list

    Hii all,
I need one help. We need to maintain default item category for components in task list.
Currently it comes as "L" and the field is non editable.
Is there any way wherein i can edit the item category to "N" or any other. Also need to know why this category "L" appears?
I can brint the default item category in the service order by the standard config.(PM/CS--> Maint & serv processing --> Main & Service orders --> General data --> define default values for component item categories)
But i want it in the task list.
    Please help
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
Just go to task list and then to component. go to item category field and press F1 (help)
    its mention
    Item Category (Bill of Material)
Categorization of the items in a BOM according to set criteria, such as whether they refer to an object (for example, material master or document info record) or whether they are kept in stock.
To my knowledge It wont be possilbe have item category N in task list by directly adding material.
    Hi Pete,
Correct me if i am wrong that configuration setting for default material type and item category works for orders only.
