Batch Processing Issues - RAW to JPEG in CS3

Hi folks,
I recently upgraded to CS3 form CS2. Over the weekend, I spent several hours tweaking/adjusting about 200 RAW images in Bridge, that I need to convert to JPGs. I used a Photoshop Batch action that I created some time back in CS2 to convert the images from RAW ("Save As" as JPG), but it didn't include any of the adjustments that I made to the images during the conversion process, because I had Ignore/Suppress Open Dialog checked. I unchecked that, and re-ran the action but am now being prompted to open each image. I then modified the action to include the "Open" command. Running the script now still doesn't quite seem to work as I'd expected. The only adjustment that is incorporated is cropping, but it doesn't process any of the tonal/color balance adjustments. All images have the modification icon on them, indicating that changes were made, but the Photoshop Batch command isn't incorporating them when opened via the Batch Processing command. Any suggestions on how to get this to work?
I'm also very open to any other suggestions one may have on converting adjusted Camera RAW images to JPEG.
Thanks,
Kappabear

  • How to batch process multiple layers to jpegs

I have over 500 layers of different texts over a simple background image. I need to move through each one of these layers, making only one and the background visible, then doing the same for the next, and saving each out as a separate .jpeg. I know how to batch process the jpegs giving each a different filename, but how do I move through the layers?
    Thanks.

    Hi, Paul--
You were correct. The normal script didn't work at all. But I'm a bit confused about how to use Layer Saver. I currently have all the texts in groups, labelled 1-50, 51-100, etc. What settings should I use to get it to work?
    Thanks

  • Data import as a batch process - Issue on successive runs

    Hi,
We have a requirement of creating a batch process that will have to read data from REMOTE_TABLE on remote database system and insert all the rows into LOCAL_TABLE on our local data base.
    Scenario:
When the batch runs for the first time, since LOCAL_TABLE is empty, all the data is read from REMOTE_TABLE and is getting inserted into LOCAL_TABLE.
But on the successive runs, the same set of data is being duplicated on the LOCAL_TABLE, which I want to avoid.
I want to update only those records on LOCAL_TABLE that were updated in REMOTE_TABLE and I want to insert only those records that were newly created on REMOTE_TABLE.
How can push in some business logic.
    Thanks
    Rk.

  • Batch Processing issue

My success rate in batch processing is pretty inconsistent. Sometimes it works just as expected but other times I have no results at all. When it doesnt work I get a message saying file already exists do you want to replace the file?.
I begin the process by opening a file (Im still using CS2) and then creating an action with a save for web command. I then go to Automate/Batch Process and set the action to play, then choose the source folder and the destination folder. I select the Override Action Save As Commands, set up a file name + a 2 digit serial number + extension and start with #1. My error messages are logged to a file. I click OK and cross my fingers.
My primary usage of batch processing is for resizing images for a web photo gallery. Is there something Im missing here? Is there a better method to prepare numerous images?
    Thanks,
    Eric

    >My primary usage of batch processing is for resizing images for a web photo gallery. ... Is there a better method to prepare numerous images?
Have a look at the Image Processor: File > Scripts > Image Processor
It can resize files and convert to sRGB, also call an action if you'd like. Then in Bridge you can do a batch rename - new file name sequence number to get your serial number sequence.

  • How can I batch process CR2 raw files to tif's without losing color adjustments?

Working in BRidge and Photoshop CS6:
I have 160 color adjusted hi-res CR2 RAW files from my photographer, thought I was getting tifs. I need tifs for my INdesign file. I tried using the photoshop image proecessor through brige by selecting all my images and then saving as TIFFs but I am losing all my color correcting? Is there a way to save these out as tiffs as a group and not one at a time? I also might have lost my color correcting when I copies them all to one folder as well...not sure what is happening except now my great product shots look like crap. Please help.

Simply drag the entire folder through Bridge—or even individual files—the invisible xmp files containing your adjustments will automatically and invisibly travel along with the image files, as long as you do it within Bridge, not through the OS.
Otherwise, you would need to set your Mac OS to always make invisible files visible, and you don't want that hassle.
Just use Bridge to move files around or to copy them to a new folder.
Incidentally, there's a dedicated Adobe Bridge forum:

  • Batch Processing RAW to jpg

I've read the tutorials and have been at this for over an hour, but I can't get a droplet created to batch process my RAW images to jpg.
The only thing I've been able to do is to create an action that converts only 1 RAW image (the one I used in setting up the action) to jpg, successfully.
But everytime I run this action, it uses the same original photo. And I can create a droplet from this action.
I know this is basic to many of you, but I'd great appreciate some help.
    Thanks,
    Susan
(PS: using Lightroom and PS CS2)

Will, this is not exactly what you are looking for but maybe this will help you if you own Photoshop CS2 or CS3.
    1. Configure LR to automatically update the XMP section of your DNG files.
    2. Use LR to tweak the images in your "watched folder"
    3. Copy the processed DNG files to the destination folder on your network drive. You can do this manually or use apps like SyncToy on XP.
    4. use the ImageProcessor script in Photoshop CS2 to create JPGs. (Ensure that you use ACR 3.7 in CS2)
4.1 specify the folder "customerName/rawfiles/" as source and target. ImageProcessor will create a JPG folder automatically
4.2 (optional) Use Actions within the ImageProcessor script to leverage sharpening solutions like PhotoKit Sharpener which are momentarily better that the sharpening LR offers.

  • I have uploaded raw and jpeg files directly from my camera to my iPad (latest version) I have processed them in snapseed and want now to transfer back to my pc for further processing. How can I do this will a flash drive work?

I have processed my raw and jpeg files on my iPad using Snapseed . What format are they saved in on the iPad and how do I transfer them back to my pc where I use photoshop elements. Can I use just an ordinary flaws drive with the USB adaptor? Thanks any help would be appreciated.

The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files form a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.

  • Adobe Media Encoder Batch Processing

    Greetings-
Did a preliminary search...could not find anything directly on target...here's the issue:
    WIN Vista 64
    PrP CS4 4.2
    AME 4.2
    Matrox RT.X2 LE 4.2
    1. Using AME, I've got multiple files(about 50) in a Source FOLDER  "A" that I want batch process out to Output FOLDER "B"
    2. When I drag all the files into the queue, AME assumes that the Output Folder is the same as the Source...
    3. While the "formats" and "presets" are correct, each file in the queue needs to have the "Output" destination manually changed to FOLDER "B"...
    4. I've searched the AME help etc, and I'm unable to find a way to mass change the "Output" folder without individually changing each "Output" destination.
    5. I've Alt>A selected then tried to mass correct, but that only changes on file "Output"
Anybody know how do a batch process in AME (as in Photoshop CS3) without having to change each "Output" location?
Btw, the AME Help, and online support is a little thin...
    Many TIA
    Mick

    OK,,,Here's a cludggy work around:
    AME>File>Create Watch Folder
    1. Create and name a new folder (i.e AME Watch Folder) somewhere on the source HD by right-clicking>Rename...closer to the root the easier to monitor
    2. Temporarily Copy desired BP files to the newly named Watch Folder
    3. Open AME
    4. AME should see the all files present with Input Folder being the Watched Folder you created.
    5. The Output Folder will automatically be created by AME and should show up as ...Watched Folder>Output
    6. Verify that all formats/presets are properly inherited. If not Alt>A select and click Settings etc.
    7. Hit Start Que. You'll see the progress bar showing encoding etc...
    8. Go to Watch Folder/Output...the BP files should be there...at this point you can Move them to wherever, then delete the Watched Folder and Output Folder contents and reuse for another BP...
Yea... I know...cludggggggy...but it beats renaming the Output destination manually for 50 or more files....
Anybody else got a workaround...I'd love to hear it...

  • ACR use of workdisk and scratchdisk when batch processing images

I am setting up a new PC optimized for PS, and I and pondering on the optimal disk setup for ACR when I batch process several images:
    Alternative 1
2 physical disk in raid 0 with 2 partitions, partition 1 for scratch and the second for images to work on.
The question is if there ever will be a conflict in the sence that PS/ACR wants to access both scratch- and work partitions at the same time? If this should occure, I guess the following is a better setup??:
    Alternative 2
    1 physical disk for scratch
1 physical disk for images to work on
    Christopher

    Thank you Ramón,
I am not limited to 2 drives. I am planning on having OS and programs on a third separate disk.
The point of using alternative 1 would be to use RAID 0 to obtain faster read/write (both for scratch and for reading and saving images on the work partition. However, if scratch usage competes with read/write to the work partition, I'm probably better off with alternative 2. If I work on one image this is simple, however I frequently batch process several RAW images. How does ACR/PS handle this? If all the images initially are read from the work partition and loaded into RAM + scratch and processed there, there will be no competition between the two partitions and I will benefit from the RAID solution. However, if the images are read one or just a few at a time, processed in RAM/scratch and then saved to the work partition, I imagine scratch and work partition could be competing for the the disks read/write head when finished images are being saved and ACR is "waiting" for more images to process??

  • Batch processing ignores ACR changes

I am using CS5 (32-bit) on a Vista PC.  I often want to batch process several raw files.  I have modified many of them in ACR. But when I do my batch processing, the changes I made in ACR have not been applied to the files I end up with.  I do not have any Open commands in my actions, I check "Suppress File Open Options" and "Override action Save As commands" and select a specific destination folder.  Some of the actions just save the file as a jpg without any other changes to it and then closes the file.  (I tried the Save jpg button in ACR but it always says it can't create the file.)
Has anyone seen this?  Even better, is there a solution?
    Thanks,
    Paul

Intermitently. Sometimes it seems to work for the fist few images in a batch and then starts to ignore the ACR changes even though the batch keeps running.

  • Bridge CS4 - Batch processing

Would like to batch process a file of JPEG Photo's to TIFF format can this be done in Bridge.
    Regards Brian

Would like to batch process a file of JPEG Photo's to TIFF format can this be
    done in Bridge.
As Curt already provided, the image processor can do so, although I don't
have to go to Output for that, might be Windows related... ?
Besides that you have the option to open the selected jpeg files with right
mouse click in ACR and after selecting them all again in ACR filmstrip mode
(cmd+A) click on the 'Save Image' button bottom left in ACR window and
choose tiff and a destination folder.
And an other option would be to create an action in PS for this and in
Bridge select al the jpeg files together and choose from the menu
Tools/Photoshop/Batch and inhere select the action you have created

  • Batch Processing Raw to jpeg issue

    Hello All,
I'm having issues converting raw files to jpeg using batch processing. When I go to open the raw files, bridge automatically opens an editor and I cannot record these actions within photoshop. What gives? Anyway to skip the editor or have PS record the action of me clicking "open image"? Or can I batch save within bridge to jpeg?
Thanks in advance for your help,
    -FA

Yes, thanks for the help. I had done that already once without the results I wanted, it was still bringing up the raw editor. After trying it again, I realize now it only does that for the first file, the rest of the batch continues opening without bringing up the editor each time. Thanks again.

  • Camera Raw adjustments not applying to batch process

    Hey friends,
On a 2008 iMac running 10.5.7, latest version of Camera Raw & Bridge/Photoshop, I opened 650 Canon 5D raw files in Camera Raw, made adjustments to most of those files, then clicked Done.
In Bridge Im batch processing all the files to Jpeg, now in Bridges thumbnails I can see all the adjustments I did in Camera Raw were applied, but yet when I batch process them, no adjustments are being applied, any idea what the issue could be?

Re: Warning serious issue with ACR edits not updating
How did you record the Photoshop batch action? Make sure the "Image Setting" item is checked in the setting flyout menu when recording any actions that open raw image if you want each image's setting to be used.
The preview building process in Bridge has nothing to do whatsoever with the saving of image settings.
Also, if you are using any PhotoKit product, you need to update to the most recent version.
