Create Requirement Coverage Request
Functionality
Method of creating a requirement coverage request. The latter can be
a purchase requisition,
if the requirement cannot be satisfied on the desired date by existing stocks on hand in the warehouse or stores, or
a reservation,
if adequate stocks are on hand.
As of SAP Release 4.0A, use the method CreateFromData of the business objects PurchaseRequisition and MaterialReservation.
Notes
The following authorization objects are checked:
M_BANF_BSA Document type in requisition
M_BANF_EKG Purchasing group in requisition
M_BANF_EKO Purchasing org. in requisition
M_BANF_WRK Plant in requisition
M_RES_BWA Reservations: Movement type
M_MRES_WWA Reservations: Plant
Data transfer
Item data
The item data of the requirement coverage request is passed on in the table RequirementItems, whereby at least the following data is necessary:
Item counter (field PREQ_ITEM)
Material number (field MATERIAL)
The following can also be given as an alternative to the material number:
Material group (field MAT_GRP) and
Short text (short description) (field SHORT_TEXT) and
Unit of measure (field UNIT) and
Price (field C_AMT_BAPI) and
Purchasing group (field PUR_GROUP)
If the material number is passed on, the material group, short text etc. are taken from the material master record.
Requested quantity (Feld QUANTITY)
Requested date (field DELIV_DATE in the format YYYYMMDD) and date type (field DEL_DATCAT)
If the current date is passed on, the date type must be '1'. Alternative types are '2' (week format) or '3' (month format); here too, DELIV_DATE must be passed on in the format YYYMMDD and is then adjusted accordingly when displayed.
Object type (field RES_REQ_ID)
If a purchase requisition is to be created, this field must contain 'X'. In the case of a reservation it must be 'Y'.
The following fields are also necessary. If they are not passed on in the method, the specifications are taken from the relevant user master record (parameter values). Note that they must at all events be available.
Document type for purchase requisitions (field DOC_TYPE)
Parameter ID BSA
Plant (Feld PLANT)
Parameter ID WRK
Storage location (field STORE_LOC)
Parameter ID LAG
Account assignments
Account assignment data for each requirement coverage request item (cost center field COST_CTR can be passed on in the transfer table ReqAccountAssignment.
If it is not passed on, costs are assigned to the cost center stored in the user master record (parameter ID CNT). A precondition for this is that the account assignment category (field ACCTASSCAT) that is passed on is not SPACE.
If the account assignment category is not passed on, a purchase requisition item without account assignment is generated.
SAP user master record
The parameter ID BWA (movement type for reservations) must be maintained in the relevant user master record.
Return
The method then returns the object number (parameter NUMBER) under which the requirement coverage request was created. The parameter ITEM is present for technical reasons and is always returned with its initial value.
If errors have occurred, these are shown in the table Return.
Number assignment
If no external object number was passed on (table RequirementItems, field PREQ_NO), the number is assigned internally by the method. A precondition for internal number assignment is that the number range object RESB (reservations) is adjusted in the Customizing facility of the Inventory Management component of the R/3 System as follows:
Change the interval with the number 01 to 0000000001 to 0019999999
Add a new interval with the number 10 from 0090000000 to 0099999999.
You can maintain the number range in the Implementation Guide (IMG):
Define number assignment for reservations
This adjustment is necessary because in the standard system the same interval has also been created for the external assignment of purchase requisition numbers. This means that one and the same number can be assigned for reservations and purchase requisitions. For example, just one number is assigned if both lines that are to be saved as purchase requisitions and lines that are to be saved as reservations are to be transferred in the table RequirementItems.

HI,
During dialog parallel processing with the NUMPROC parameter, packages with size PKGSIZE are read and indexed using aRFCs. To do this, the data packages must be transferred using Export to Data Buffer. This is done on a package-by-package basis since it requires a large amount of CPU and memory resources. The SUBPKGSIZE parameter specifies the number of rows for the package. Generally recommended a value between 10,000 and 20,000. You reduce the package size and run process chain again.

Oc4j and JVM

Where I can obtain information detailed on the use of instances of jvm in OC4J and possible behaviors of this.
We setup a container to make use of 2 virtual machines ( in the numprocs parameter in the opmn.xml file ) when we do opmnctl status command the instance shows two processes alive.
But when we observed the logs, only the first instance is modified. I want to know if is possible to balance the requirements to the 2 jvm? how to do it? or where i can found information about that?

or where i can found information about that?Can you explain a little further about what you mean by first instance modified -- what operation are you doing? What logs are you looking at? You may have observed this already, but when you run with multiple procs, each process (ie JVM) has a separate log file -- colors~blue~colors~1.log and colors~blue~colors~2.log for example.
When you have multiple processes running for an OC4J instance, then incoming client requests are automatically balanced over them.
It's really helpful when you post questions if you state what version you are usign too -- there are some differences between the releases.

a) What is Batchpara and do I need to change it to something else?
b) It spun off some other jobs ... what's going on there?

BATCHPARA has always been there. It defined how many parallel processes can be used for intial indexing of cube's fact table to speed up this processing step.

Erro while executing query using BWA

Hello BWA experts,
I am facing a issue while running a query by using BIA. I get error message as "Program error in class SAPMSSY1 method: UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTIION.
My querz contains one basis key figure in the column and a charateristic say company code in row. In free characteristic, I have sales document no. The qeury executes without any issue at first. But when I go to 'sales document no' in the free characteristic area and select filter values, this error pops out. This document no cannot be removed due to customer requirements.
If I restrict the query output with selection, then it is able to execute & filtering can be done without and errors. Also if I activate not to use BIA in tcode 'RSDDBIAMON', the query executes & filtering can be done whithout and errors.
If I change the query & put 0doc_number in the drill down and execute for the same selection, I get error as follows,
Error subfield access to table (row3, column 0 to row 3, cloumn 0) outside of
Error Serialization/Deserialization error
Error An an exception with the type CX_TREX_SERIALIZATION occured, but was neither
Error Error reading data of infoprovider XXXXXX
Error Error while reading data, navigation is possible.
I was suggested by SAP to increase the max_cells_one_index parameter to 200 million. We are on revision version 53 and the current value set for max_cells_one_index to 40 million. They also mention with a caution that 'by changing this parameter it will bring more load to BW servers'.
I would like to know how the bw server load would increase by increasing this parameter. Will there be any another impact on the BIA or BW servers.
Secondly, how is the value arrived to give a memory out , serialization error.
Also will this kind of an issue be solved in the next revision version? I know that revision version 54 is available.

I am not able to even evaluate the amount of data with this document no in the drilldown. When I run this report I get an abap dump "TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED".So I guess the no of documents must be very high. Is there a way to check in BIA Monitor the no of documents returned after execution, for a particular selection.
However, I have come accross a note '1157582' which talks about spiltting the result set in different data packets. Will this be helpfull in any case? Currently I see that the parameter 'chunk_size' is set to zero

BO Explorer Accelerated Version for BWA with BO Enterprise 4.0.2 ????

Dear all,
we are currently running a complete BO Enterprise 4.0.2 landscape, including BO Explorer 4 (non accelerated version).
What we would like to add in addition(!), is an installation of BO Explorer (accelerated version of a dedicated blade) which directly accesses the data in our BWA, but which makes use of the already existing BOE landscape (including CMS, SAP authentication, etc.)
I checked all documentation on the service.sap.com, etc. and I have to say that I'm a little bit lost about the versions and the naming.
- There was once a version which was called SAP BO Explorer (blade) 2.0 and in the installation/master guide there was a dedicated part how to connect the new BO Explorer to the BO Enterprise and how to establish a connection between the BO Explorer and the BWA (so exactly what we from my general understanding need to do).
Unfortunately this guide was always based on the BOE XI3.2 version and NOT on the current 4.0.2 version
- The successor of SAP BO Explorer (blade) 2.0 is now called SBOP EXPLORER PACKAGE 4.0 (as I can read in service.sap.com), but when I check /instguides for "explorer", I can again read the following:
SAP BusinessObjects Explorer, accelerated version comprises the following software packages and components:
SAP BusinessObjects Explorer (blade) 2.0
SAP NetWeaver BW Accelerator 7.2

If so, is there any major difference between the XI3.2 version from the (blade) 2.0 installation/master guide and version 4.0.2 (except that I do not need the SAP integration stuff anymore)?! Is there an installation guide for BO Enterprise 4.0.2?
And last but not least, which version is the version which I can find under /swdc
SBOP EXPLORER ACCELERATED VERSION -> SBOP EXPLORER PACKAGE -> SBOP EXPLORER PACKAGE 4.0
It seems to me that this is the NON ACCELERATED version - so not the blade edition which is going directly to the BWA...

Having the new BO Explorer Version 4 available does not at all require a special blade installation anymore?!? I simply need
- BWA720 and need to perform the following steps:
To connect SAP BusinessObjects Explorer with a designated SAP NetWeaver BW Accelerator via the CMC administration page:
1. Stop the Explorer servers.
2. Logon to the BusinessObjects Enterprise CMC.
3. Navigate to Manage > Applications.
4. Right-click Explorer and click Properties.
5. Within Advanced Configuration: type the host and port values of the designated BWA.
For example:
com.businessobjects.datadiscovery.dataprovider.trex.host=<mybwaserver>
com.businessobjects.datadiscovery.dataprovider.trex.port=3<TREX_instance_number>16

Dear Anbu,
long time ago since I did the initial configuration.
When I remember right, there was an additional parameter in one of the *ini files on the Trex Server, but when I searched I was not able to find any additional parameter - so I guess there is none.
One thing that I remember is, that we had to use the IP-adress on the BO server configuration instead the server name, as otherwiese the BO server was not able to reach the BWA (but his might be due to our internal configuration).

BWA soft memory limit

Hi
Is there anyway to impose a soft memory limit to the BWA software? I have need a system to have around 80GB of memory. With 24GB blades this mean I would end up with 96GB of memory, 16GB more than I need and as we all know BWA licensing is not cheap.
Note 1259294 - BWA 7.00: Main memory size for BWA blades, does state that mixed memory sizes are OK. So I could go with 3 x 24GB blades and 1 x 12GB blades to give me 84GB but I am a little uncomfortable with it. Ideally I would like 4 x 24GB blades with a soft limit applied to the BWA software of 84GB. Is this possible?
If not another way to do this would be to limit the amount of memory to 21GB per blade (with the Linux boot parameter mem=x), would this be supported or not?

We have three landscape and we dont use soft limit. If you really worried about the cost, you go for 324 and 112 which is also supported. This is called hetro genious landscape and supported by SAP as well. if you have a softlimit and then again it wil be hetrogenious landscape only. There is no difference
Also note BWA memory is not yet fully stable and most of the TREX REV has memory leaks. So you need to have room for growth and system should be cater for handling the memory leaks.
If you think abt the cost for 12 GB, please do conisder the availability as well.

User exit for 0INFOPROV with InfoCube in BWA

Hello Everyone,
We recently added few InfoCubes into BWA and due to the reporting requirements and the way the reports were designed we had to create a user exit for 0INFOPROV in order to populate the InfoCube name based on the selection criteria for the report.
But when we run the report, the report is ending up with an error message and we are not able to execute any queries on top of that multiprovider with the user exit embedded.
If we remove the user exit and hard code the value for 0INFOPROV it works fine.
Can anyone please let me know how you guys have dealt with the user exit for BWA.

Thanks for looking into the message.
The issue is, when we have a restricted keyfigure which has selection on 0INFOPROV to populate the InfoCube name through user exit the query is ending up with error messages.
The error messages state
"Error Error while reading data; navigation is possible
Error Errors occurred during parallel processing of query 21, RC: 3
Error The following errors occurred during parallel processing of query 22
Error Error reading the data of InfoProvider ZCSLSMR10$X
Error Inconsistent input parameter (parameter: <unknown>, value <unknown>)

Logical AND in MDX Reporting Services Parameter

Hi, I would like to implement logical AND on a cube parameter. I have seen examples of hard-coded logical AND in MDX.

But I'm not sure how to apply this to a parameter's MDX dataset.

I can see there just one parameter @Department@Department in your script. But if you had two parameters that should return resultset affected by two parameters. You can do it as either select from subselect from subselect.

Report RFKLBU10: Missing Parameter for Logical filename in Release ERP 2005

Hello Experts,
Report RFKLBU10 in Sap Release 4.6c hat a parameter "Old dataset logical name".
The new version of this report in SAP Release ERP 2005 there is no such parameter.
Is this a SAP-Bug ?

There are no Export or Print events accessible for the viewer
Since it sounds like you are creating the reportdocument object in your click event, the settings on this object become out of scope on successive postbacks executed by other events.
to get around this without major changes, you can place your "report" object in session in this event and retrieve it from session on successive postbacks. This should solve your problems around navigation, printing and exporting. What you will need to do is check if the session object exists (usually in page_load or page_initialze) and if so, retrieve it from session and bind it to the viewer's reportsource. If the session object does not exist, then do nothing (ie you have not clicked your button yet that retrieves the parameter values from session and loads the report). Also, in your click event you can check if the report session object exists and if so, remove it so that it can be re-created with your new parameter values (ie i'm assuming the only time you want to set parameter values is in this event).

Cannot assign an empty string to a parameter with JDBC type VARCHAR

I am seeing the aforementioned error in the logs. I am guessing its happening whenever I am starting an agent instance in PCo. Can somebody explain whats going on?

Sounds like a UI browsing bug (when no path is selected from a catalog tree folder browser) - I would suggest logging a support ticket so that it can be addressed.

Replacing NULL and EmptyString('') with "Unknown" in SSRS parameter dropdown

What I want to do is, in the SSRS parameter drop down, instead of showing NULL and Blank values(), i want to categorize them as "Unknown", so, if the user selects "Unknown" from the SSRS drop down parameter, he should be able to see all
the records that have NULL values or empty strings in that particular column in the result set.
Can you tell me, how should I handle it in my main stored proc as well as in the dataset?
Right now, i have something like this:
Where
(t1.name in (select value from dbo.Split(@TName,',')) OR @TName IN ('All'))
-- Where t1.Name has empty strings and NULL values. Both of these values should be categorized under "Unknown"
-- How would the dataset query look like? Right now I have this query for populating the drop down for that parameter:

SELECT
CASE WHEN TName IS NULL OR TName = ''
THEN 'Unknown' ELSE TName END AS TName
From DemoTable
Then, use following query code to get the parameter values:
SELECT Distinct
CASE WHEN TName IS NULL OR TName = '' THEN 'Unknown'
ELSE TName END AS TName
FROM DemoTable
