BB Messenger and Receving Pictures
I have a problem and no support person seems to be able to help! I have a friend I chat with on BBM regularly and when he sends me photos from his phone through BBM, sometimes I have a "preview" option, and other times I have to download the photo on my phone to view. I thought it had to do with image size, but that is not the issue. He's on Sprint and I'm on Verizon, but both using Blackberries! Its really frustrating! Anyone have any tips?

I'm betting it's the encoding of the file. The file types could be the same but it's going to depend on where the files originated. Kind of like saving a file as a .gif in MS paint and another file using like Photoshop. The encoding techniques they use are different.

Sending and receiving picture messages
I was given a torch as a gift recently. I like the phone but can't send or receive picture messages. The service allows it, as I had no problems on my motorola doing it. Is there somehere I can go to update the software to get the option? I have looked through everything here, the option is just not there at all like the manual says it should be.
You must have the BIS BlackBerry Data Plan in order to use "data", such your picture MMS messages and to get the RIM push email functions, as well as additional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
So, as recommended, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.

Isight, messenger and other forums
Hi All
Bought my isight yesterday and naively assumed that being an apple product and using with my 18 month old powerbook all would be easy to use and work straight out of the box but dissapointed to find that nothing seems to happen with messenger and with the forum i regularly use the camera is recognised as being connected but no picture is being transmit. I can't believe that the isight can only be used to communicate exclusively to other mac users which despite the fact that I love mine does exclude a huge amount of people in the world who use windows.
Really appreciate all the help to get me up and working.

I have a problem with downloading and sending pictures in chat. It says that "sending canceled" under the picutre ... Why is that ? I didn't do anything with it. Please help me solve this problem !

Can someone please just help me figure out how to update this stupid phone(iPhone 4)without losing anything? I somehow have more than one Apple ID on this,but I just want my music and my pictures to stay and I'm terrified of losing these things. How can I email a video clip I downloaded into my iPhoto library to my friends? I tried creating an email and attaching the clip but there is no sound and no picture when the 5 minute attachment "plays." How can I file=>export it to them from iPhoto?
Have them install Quicktime on their PC's from Apple's website, that's the easiest fix.

Is there any way to turn off the auto formatting in Pages? I'm using a blank document, so I figured I could write my letter and add pictures any way I wanted to. But NO! Pages keeps changing the font size! I typed a large heading as a title, and when I try to change to a smaller font for the body of the letter, it changes the size back to the larger size! I am getting SO FRUSTRATED! I've spent over an hour trying to get the stupid program to let me just type my letter! Can anyone help?
The only one left is the "unsubmitted text" dialogue, which would not be a problem if I were not a Facebook user; after updating the "Richard is..." field (which does not require a manual submit to actually send) I get the above message. This is obviously Safari just not realising that the info has been sent and is therefore (I imagine) one for Apple themselves to answer!!

Not being a Facebook User, I'm not sure how to respond to the error situation. However, this would be something to report to Apple as a bug via the Safari Menu. First, open to the page in question, then select "Report Bugs to Apple".

When I turn on my iTouch, I only get a black screen with an iTunes logo and a picture of a USB plug. The device freezes at this point. When I connect to iTunes, the only option is to Restore.......before I do that is there anything else I can try???? Help?

Having finally managed to update itunes to the current version in order to sort the lock screen of itunes ;logo and usb lead, i find that i dont have on the left side of itunes lists, the DEVICES heading for me to click on in order to back up/restore etc..... How do i access this..? I seem to be going around in circles and getting nowhere fast.

i tried to update my ipod but then it didnt work saying that an unknown error has occured, now itunes is not recognising that an ipod has been plugged in and the picture that comes up when you first get it (an arrow leading to the itunes sign) is on my screen, i dont know what to do?
Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

Skype, Messenger, and your Microsoft Account
I have posted this on the Microsoft forum too but think it's pretty relevant here.
So...
I have Windows Phone 8.1, my partner has WP8.1, she is my contact through her Microsoft account which she also signed into Skype with. We attempted to use the feature of going to a Skype video call from a standard phone call and the Skype button is greyed out...
I then notice she does not have any Skype details in her profile on my phone - only email (her Microsoft account) (which is also her Skype account). So I search for her using her Microsoft email address in Skype and she appears as a non-contact who I have to send a request to!
So now I have her twice in Skype; Once for Skype and once for Messenger!! I tried linking her accounts in her profile on my phone - which then shows her as one contact at outlook.com too - who I can Messenger chat with AND start a Skype call at outlook.com!!
I have repeated this with a friend who was also previously a long time Messenger user that has downgraded to Skype.
None of this was previously an issue as we all still used Messenger and could chat with the now GREATLY missed built in Messenger chat on Windows Phone, but now this has been dropped we are forced to use the depressingly slow and awfully clunky Skype app(s). This is what has brought the cross-app disconnect to light for us.
Why do we now have 2 accounts using the exact same email address? This REALLY needs fixing ASAP.Hello,

Click OK to apply changes and make them effective.

In the Your account screen click Add payment method to configure your payment settings that will be used for purchasing apps from Windows Store.
Notice Country/region value has changed.
This country will be specified in Country/residence within Payment and Billing in Microsoft Store app.

Will i be able to listen to music, watch videos and take pictures and sync with itunes without a sim in my locked iphone 5?
You will need a SIM to activate it. There is no way around that. The SIM does not have to be active, but it must be from the correct carrier if the phone is carrier locked. Once activated, it can be removed and used like an iPod touch, but if you ever have to restore or update iOS, you will need the SIM to re-activate it.

If I back up iMovie projects to an external drive does imovie take the media with it? I want to free up space and remove pictures that were in iPhoto...that were used as media by iMovie when project was under way. In short I want archive iMovie stuff. If I pull pics out of iPhoto, and later want to drag an archived projet bac into iMovie and the pics are no longer in iPhoto, will I be able to keep working in the project in iMovie?
Very likely not, as the iPhoto's can be used for something else.
More like it took a copy, or it's referencing that spot on the drive in the editable files and most likely made a copy to create a new permanent export file.
Sample one picture and a iMovie file and see what happens.
