BBM, this forum and this board

Having d/ling latest versionof BBM I started to think something was remiss in that of all the choices in the member profile section for IM clients Blackberry Messenger is not listed. That is a strange omission on the Blackberry Support Community Forums. Reading through the complaints about BBM on these boards it has now become apparent why there is no entry for BBM username. The complaint rate would skyrocket if more members of the forum actually tried BBM. It is a memory hog among other things, poor documented and apparently left to wither on the vine. In case anyone wants to FA1SGL is how you can contact me via BBM, that is if it works....

FA1SGL, you'll notice on the forum here, that under the My Settings > Personal Information, you have a slot to enter your PIN, which is what is actually needed for BlackBerry Messenger adding contacts.
Knowing your BBMessenger name of FA1SGL is not a way to add a BBM contact.
I like BBMessenger, I use it constantly with friends. It is actually one of the things I like best about the BlackBerry.

If there is a way to do it, I suggest you put the heading of this thread in bold on the Feedback & Suggestions Board page, sticky it, make sure it is at the top of the list of threads on this Board, and make it permanently unread so that returning members who have read it once will read it again and hopefully pay attention to what it says.

Error 0x3b21 when trying to synch - have read and tried all solutions on this board. NO LUCK!

I am at my wits end. I am using Office 2007, Desktop Manager 4.7 on a blackberry 8310 and I get that error when I try to synch my berry.
Please help before it ends up in the river with my 8 track collection.

This board ROCKS!!!! and a few comments...

Just setup my K8N NEO2 Plat with the new A64 3500+ Venice and all I can say is fast, fast, fast!!!! Had to replace a failed K7N2 Delta2 Plat in a hurry and figured I would go for the gusto, this combo absolutely smokes the NFORCE2 with XP3000+ Barton AND it seems to be a bit faster than my P4 setup. Anyhow, enough with the gushing and on to the point:
When configuring the LAN, XP and my network did not like the NFORCE3 LAN, no MAC address apparently, so I disabled it and enabled the Realtek, drivers loaded automatically and all is well. I may want to use the other LAN port, so wondering about a possible fix.
Updated Realtek sound drivers through Liveupdate to the latest and lost sound, rolled back the driver and all is well again... ?
It did not come with the Firewire bracket, though I think it should.
RAM timings are set for AUTO and 1T and all is well. What's the difference between 1T and 2T. I will not be overclocking as stability is key for me.
HT frequency in the Cell Menu default is 4 and I left it that way. Don't know what this does, can anyone explain what these settings are for?
BIOS came stock at ver 1.9. I assume that there is no point in updating to 1.A unless I will be upgrading to a dual core CPU? Definitely not going to upgraqde this wonderful CPU any time soon, just wondering.

Your Mac address was likely lost because whomever updated your board BIOS used a less than ideal BIOS modifying / updating procedure. No matter what there is no need to worry since it can easily be corrected by following the instructions in this thread. Using the Realtek LAN vice the NF Lan causes a slightly higher CPU usage. You have plenty of CPU power so you should not even notice it.

You have an excellent system so you will be able to run quite stable using 1T timings at stock settings. 2T would only be used to stabilized your system if you intended to do extreme overclocking. Switching to 2T vice 1T would reduce your system performance by approximately 5%. Stay at 1T...
BIOS v1.9 has received mixed reviews from users due to the MAC address issue and the fact that the USB 2.0 setting option has been left out (forgotten) of this BIOS version (v1.9). Disatisfied Neo2 plat users have either gone back to BIOS 1.8 or switched to one of the unofficial BIOS version (1A... rev...).
If you plan to use USB 2.0 peripherals you may have to do so later on. Needless to say since you have owned MSI motheboards before only flash your BIOS if you absolutely need to and then make sure that you are using an approved and reversible method. DO NOT USED LIVE UPDATE. here is a link to the Neo2 BIOS repository. Be very careful about using unofficial BIOS with permanently modded memory timings. Make sure that you try these out first using A64Tweaker to insure that they will work before flashing your BIOS. This includes rebooting your system with A64Tweaker set to re-install your modded memory timings on startup. If you run into problem soft reboot to Safe Mode and then disable A64Tweaker Startup feature. I am now using 1A3 Rev4 no temp by Syar and I like it very much. Syar has done a great job unhidding all BIOS features, including MAC address option, without introducing highly personalised memory timing changes that could de-stabilize your system. here is the link:

From reading this forum and my own it experance the HP "eprint" email server is flawed!

Having read on this forum and from my own experience only a limited number of email providers email addreses will be accepted by the eprint email address it certainly does not accept emails from hotmail.com and hotmail.co.uk they bounce almost before they are sent!!!
So own up HP I bought in to your sales BS and there certainly wasn't any caveats saying that you eprint system does it did not work with certain email providers.
I note that someone calling himself an interested employee of HP has been suggesting that its the providers fault, well I have been using hotmail for donkeys years and the only time my emails have bounced is when I have incorrectly entered the wrong send address configuration or the attachments were too large!
I am getting on, but for the life of me I cannot found any eprint support contact email address on their web page, is there one? or is HP hoping that their customers will sort out their problems for them?
For the record I can see my printer on line via the eprint web site and all the reports are correct so its not a fault at my end .
So HP if you actually monitor this forum get your act together and give us what your sales blurb said it would!

For those who are experiencing ongoing issues with their web services, you can attempt to try the following steps that may
help resolve your problems.
1.) Completely shut down your printer and restart it
2.) If you have prints that have not printed, log into ePrint Center (or create an account if you do not have one) and
then look for your printer status. If printer status is green but you still have pending jobs, delete the pending jobs one at
a time (Starting with the oldest first). There may be a print job stuck in the queue that further restricts other jobs from
completing.
a. If option 1 or 2 above still doesn’t work, removing web services and re-adding web services will cause the printer to
reattach to the cloud.
b. Please note that if you attempt option 3, you will get a new eprint email address (and lose your custom one with no
ability to get it back) furthermore, you will need to re-add your printer back to your ePC account.

Your profile indicates your Mac is running v10.7.2
If that is correct, updating your system software may help.
Click Software Update from the Apple menu.
Restart your Mac after updates are installed then try the App Store.
If you can't update that way, there's a workaround.
Install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
Then restart your Mac and try the App Store.

Hello Everyone, I'm new to this forum and I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to networking so please bear with me. I have a WRT54GS w/SpeedBooster. My family an I recently took a trip. We've been getting a lot of bad weather here in the Midwest so I chose to unplug everything when we left. I fired up my laptop tonight and it did not automatically connect to my network like it usually does so I refreshed the network list and mine will not show up. However, an unsecured network with a really good signal does show up (I'm not sure if it's mine or not). Anyway, this has never happened before so I don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly apprciated. Thanks. Jon

Use your desktop to set up your wireless network.
XP
go to My Network Place. You will see a monitor next to a globe with the name Linksys wrt54gs. click on it and it will take you to the sign in page for your router.
Vista
Go to Network. You will see router Linksys wrt54gs. right click on it, then click on view device webpage. you will be on the sign in page for your router.
Use admin or your password to sign in
Next click on wireless
Set wireless mode to mixed
Change network name from linksys to ?
enable ssid
save settings
click on wireless security
Set security mode to wpa2 personal
Set new password
save settings
Go to laptop
Find new network
right click on network name
click on properties
change your properties to match those on router under wireless security

I was told to go to a website to download CS5 software but I already own the CS5 software. Then I was told to go to webchat to get "them" to deathorize the old install. But I was in webchat (as I am now) when I first asked this question. The answer seems circular and gets me no farther toward reinstalling my CS5.

This is not web chat. This is the forum, which is an extension of the Adobe Support system, but you need to talk to Adobe Support directly either by chat or by telephone and they can process the deactivation.
There has been a problem lately with the links for getting into the web chat and for the phone support. Try the following link and look down the page for a chat option. If you don't see one, try using a different browser.

If you still cannot see it then you might try the phone route, which would be unfindable as well if the chat is not appearing. But the info for that is...

I want to get a sound card that will support asio drivers and the SB Audigy 2 ZS is looking good. It supports asio drivers. My question is what is the difference from a recording point of view between the X-FI extreme and the SB Audigy 2ZS. As far as I can see,nothing. Also where do you draw the line between asio supported cards and non asio cards? The most important aspect of a recording card that works/plays well is the asio drivers. Everything else is obviously related to the more money you spend the higher the sampling rates and maybe even DSP effects.
Anyway the rig I use is used for playing music, gaming and making home DVD.s. The sound quality of a recorded analogue video needs to well recorded and thats where the SB Audigy 2ZS or X-FI Extreme come in.

- ASIO 2.0 drivers for low latency (as low as 2ms) multi-track playback and recording at 16-bit/48kHz or 24-bit/96kHz-.
"X-Fi"'s
- ASIO 2.0 support with direct monitoring at 16 and 24-bit at sample rates of 44.1/48/88.22 and 96kHz.
So, if you record only DVD quality (24-bit/96 kHz) then there are not big differences.

I agree, it's too bad it won't be available for WP8 right away, but hopefully it'll be coming down the road.
BBM is a really nice platform. A lot of my former BBM contacts are now my WhatsApp contacts, but BBM is more secure and doesn't use your phone number, which some people don't want available to group members. Also, I like that BBM doesn't show everyone when you last used the application, like Facebook Chat and WhatsApp do.

To be completely honest, FCPX is a RAM hog. It just is. But, RAM is relatively cheap, and the pay-off is good.
4GB is right on the edge, IMHO. 16G is ideal.

First post, here goes. I need to upgrade my cpu from Intel Core 2 duo E4300 1.8GHz to play more demanding games
for my son. cpu-z says Board is MS-7255, chipset says: P4M900/CN896/VN896/PT890
I would like to upgrade ram to 4gig and replace cpu with a;
Intel Core2 Duo Processor E6400 (2M Cache, 2.13 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) can I do this on this board ?
Any help I would be gratefull.

Aldi? that means it was included in a Medion pc? Then it's an oem board. The boards MSI (and the forum) directly supports are retail boards. If your board is from an oem pc no of the boards listed before are your board. That means could be you brick the board by flashing a bios from a retail board.
Speed difference would be minimal anyway. Core2 are outdated. The time of dual core is almost over. If you have to buy the cpu I'd rather save for a new board and cpu.
