BCS Profile Page Error

Hi Folks,
This is the first time I'm totally stumped. I upgraded a BCS service app from 2010 to 2013. When it was running in 2010 mode, all was fine. As soon as I upgraded the site collection the BCS Profile Page is not showing due to an error.
The link to the profile page / default action is being routed through ActionRedirect.aspx which is throwing the error...
/_layouts/15/ActionRedirect.aspx?EntityNamespace=<DOMAIN>&EntityName=<ENTITIY>&LOBSystemInstanceName=<DB>&ItemID=1797
The Error I get is:
The passed in identifier is not properly encoded
I checked the logs, ramped up the BCS component to Verbose, but no clue as to what is causing this error.
When I create an action without any parameters, it works fine. As soon as I add any parameter, be it Integer, String or Guid, I get the above mentioned error.
I created a brand new entity with a brand new connection and brand new item and list readers, and still get the same error whenever I click on the default action for an entity. So this error not only happens for upgraded entities.
Rebuilding BCS is not an option, as we're looking at thousands of documents which have been tagged with the proper entity already and rebuilding BCS from scratch would cause all existing associations to fail.
Any thoughts as to how to tackle this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Still no luck to date. Fascinates me that no one else has picked up on this... I have validated this behaviour with other vanilla 2013 installations. And no mention in the March update about fixing this, so it is not on the MS horizon either...
For those of you who can't wait for MS to find a fix: Here is a (hack) workaround:
1) create a new aspx page in your main site collection (no need for ugly urls)
2) add the BCS web parts to that page
3) create a calculated column on the library that contains the tagged info
4) in that calculated column enter custom HTML to render a link (i.e. a href="/SitePages/CustomerProfile.aspx?Id=" & Customer:ID & "
You can only inject BCS fields into a calculated field which are numeric, so make sure your primary key of your entity is either a number or a GUID.
Why? Because SharePoint interprets the System.String data type which comes from BCS as Full-Text, not Single Line Text. And Calculated fields don't support Full-Text (aka Rich Text or Multi line Text) fields :-(

I am searching and indexing a webservice and pulling in external content, through SharePoint's BCS. I have used SharePoint Designer to make the connection and its a read only connection, we are not trying to write back to the external data source. The problem
I have is that some of the columns are rendering the HTML as a string, with all of the HTML tags. For example, a column will render like this:
 Onboarding, Recruiting &amp; Talent Acquisition general information
The profile page uses the business data web part and will accept custom XSL and I have modified the column that is rendering the html from:
<xsl:value-of select="@u_cause" />
to
<xsl:value-of disable-output-escaping="yes" select="@u_cause" />
The problem is that it does not make a difference the column will still render the HTML. Is there any other way to make the column render HTML?

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to render column value as the HTML format in the xslt list view.
I suggest you can set the “disable-output-escaping” attribute like below, it will render as html:
<xsl:value-of select="@MyColumn" disable-output-escaping="yes"/>

E-Rec Profile Page Error

Dear Friends,
I am new in E-Recruitment, and after generating the URL's through the report 'RCF_GENERATE_URLS', I try to test all the URLS. When trying the URL to create the profile, I get the following error on page:
The following error text was processed in the system DEC : Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.
The error occurred on the application server ECNO_DEC_00 and in the work process 0 .
The termination type was: RABAX_STATE
The ABAP call stack was:
Method: CREATE_CONTROLLER of program CL_BSP_CTRL_ADAPTER===========CP
Method: CREATE_CONTROLLER of program CL_BSP_CONTROLLER2============CP
I checked in the transaction ST22, but the same message was displayed. Can you please advise how to avoid this error.

Hello Richa,
the trouble with the dump and callstack information is that it indicates an error in the bsp view rendering which is very difficult to analyze from the distance. The bug could be caused by a basis error in the bsp infrastructure, by a not supported browser (http://service.sap.com/pam) or some error within the application which results in the dump in later processing.
I would check Tcodes SLG1 and SM21 for further error information. Perhaps they logged something. If not I'd personalöly start the debugger but this needs quite a lot of experience within the e-recruiting applications to efficiently track the error.

While trying to Configure External Content Type Profile Page in Central Administration, I get this error:
Creation of one or more profile pages failed.
1. http://dev-apps:8000/applications/pa.WCFConsumer: Unable to provision profile page because of an error in the BDC Model. Cannot find a Default MethodInstance of Type 'SpecificFinder' on Entity (External Content Type) with Name 'WCFConsumer' in Namespace 'http://dev-apps:8000/applications/pa'.
What could be the cause of it?

Did you implement a "SpecificFinder" method in your web service?

Compensation Profile Page iViews Error Messages (Parameter CREVI not set)

Hello Folks,
We are currently implementing ECM with MSS and SAP Portal. In the Plan Compensation iView when I click on the Employee Name hyperlink it is launching Employee Compensation Profile page having General Data, Compensation Adjustments, Salary Development, Salary Survey Data, Compensation Guidelines, Compensation Eligibility, LT Incentive iViews.
I am getting below listed messages in these iViews, I am not able to trace where the configuration for these is missing i.e. either in the Resource or Service or in any of the SPRO step. Could you please help me in pointing to the location where I am missing in the config part.
General Data iView - "Internal error; Parameter CREVI is not set, Salary Development: An error occurred while the data was read."
Salary Development, Salary Survey Data, LT Incentive iViews - "No data available"
Compensation Guidelines, Compensation Eligibility iViews - "To display data, first select an employee".

Yeah, about that... Apple stopped signing iOS 5.1.1. Because Apple is no longer issuing it. Apple only issues the most current software for a given device. See http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/iOS6.pdf It states:
"Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, you are granted a limited non-exclusive
license to download iOS Software Updates that may be made available by Apple for your model
of the iOS Device to update or restore the software on any such iOS Device that you own or
control."
So per the Software License Agreement you HAD TO ACKNOWLEDGE to upgrade to iOS 6 you agreed to use iOS 6 in accordance with that agreement and it doesn't give you permission to downgrade your version of iOS.

Page Erroring if Fnd:Diagnostics profile is not set...

Hi,
When I run the OAF page and click on Apply the page was erroring as the Fnd:Diagnostics profile was not set I could not see the reasons for error. So I enabled the Fnd:Diagnostics profile at the responsibility level and when I openeed the page and clicked on apply, now the page is not erroring out. Is there any connection between this profile with the pages erroring out? Note: I am using pageContext.writeDiagnostics to log the comments....

but in my development instance it is working fine when i click on Yes or No button in my Dialog page,
the issue arises when i try it out in my TEST instance or in SUPPORT instance,
how can this work fine in one instance and fail in the others.

I am having some problems....... any help would be nice
I am using DWCS3 and ADDT toolbox extension wamp and phpmyadmin
I am trying to create a site for people to be able to post a profile with a picture and info and display it in a dynamic table.
I can create the form, a database and display the data on another page in a dynamic table all ok..... kind of.
I can create a user registration system with ADDT.
I can redirect them after registration to a post profile page, which has a form to upload details. I can then display those details on a user info page.
I would like to allow logged in users to be able to click on a link to their own profile page , which would show the same form that was filled out in the post profile page, but would be already populated with their previously entered information. I would like users to be able to edit the content of the form and update the information in the database and automatically delete delete any previously entered information ( only in the fields that have been edited)
How do I go about doing this?.... step by step?
I want to allow logged in user to view their own profile not every bodies.... how do I do that?
I have read on another post that to do something similar to this I should filter my database information using a session varialble MM_username that I think is created automatically after user logs in .... but I don;t know how to do this.... I really don;t understand is this the way I link my user to a page that only displays their info ? or is there another way?
I would also like to allow only people who have posted a profile to be able to edit profile ...... do I do that by
1. new user registers and is redirected to login page
2. user logs in and is redirected to an index page that has a post profile button and a edit profile button but only the POST button is active ( and links to a form to post info ) and the edit profile button is linked to a " You must post a profile first" page ( with a link back)
3 so user posts profile and is directed to an index page which has an edit profile button which is now linked to an edit profile page
Does that sound correct?
Any suggestions in getting all this to work would be much appreciated

I have created the users page which submits to a members page and tell the user to edit biodata, profession, and hobbies. but on clicking I am really confused on how the id will be transfered from the members page to update biodata and the user updates the form which will show past records. this should also apply to the profession and hobbies
If I understand this right, you might want to consider providing a complete "userdata" section which comes with a Dynamic List and a Dynamic Form to have users add & update their data plus (via the Dynamic List) track all past records
Lastly is it possible I create recordset at will and the id will be passed thru since kt-login-id behaves sololy
I really can´t recommend this "pass user_id as URL variable" approach in this case, as URL variables are displayed in the browser´s address bar -- and this is absolutely insecure, because anyone could simply change the displayed "user_id" value, reload the form and hence edit data which belongs to a different user.
The only secure method is indeed to use ADDT´s session variable kt_login_id

Something wrong with the Profile page of all users in OIM

Hi All,
I am not sure what is happening but every time I login with some user id and password in to the OIM and click on Profile for the user in the Self Service Console, I get this error thrown:

on the UI. Also in the server diagnostic logs this is the entry:

This occurs for all users. Even xelsysadm. Please help me resolve this issue. Its rather urgent. More over there is no concrete and specific error shown in the logs so i am totally confused. And this error started occurring after I had changed some attributes through the administration and then mapped these attributes to RequestDataSet through MDS. Those pages though work fine. Maybe the Profile page still has some attribute that I have deleted in administration page or something. Not sure. In fact unable to find any specific data set for the profile page in the MDS. I can only see the Request, Create User, Modify user and other such datasets. If anyone knows the data set which profile page uses, then please do reply. Any help is hugely appreciated.

Hi,
Well ya it is problematic for us since no user can access his Profile page and hence has no way to see his own details in the OIM. Not even xelsysadm user. Only xelsysadm and other administrators can view other users and their own profile but that is through the Administration console and not through self service since clicking on Profile tab in self service simply throws this error. Also can you suggest some good debugger for the same?

Hi Srini,
First, if you have the page access, go directly to the page -> Personalize page -> delete the item which you created.
Otherwise go to Functional Administrator -> Personalization -> Give your document path and search -> click on Personalize page link -> give the level name in which u created the personalization earlier -> next -> delete the item...

HP: How about fixing the Profile page?

I have been experiencing the broken Profile page for weeks now, and been reading forum posts concerning same for just as long. The www.hpwebos.com/profile page is flat out broken; I can't get to it from any browser, on any computer, including from my TouchPad.
And why might I want to do this? Because my credit card was canceled due to fraudulent activity before Christmas. So, right now I can not change my payment method to the new card, which means I can't spend any damned money in your app store!
So, how about a fix, eh?

How to retrieve the firstname lastname in Webcenter Portal (11.1.1.8) UserProfile object, we used all the expressions but firstname lastname always comes blank/empty.
First Name: #{webCenterProfile[securityContext.userName].firstName} 
Middle Name: #{webCenterProfile[securityContext.userName].middleName} 
Last Name: #{webCenterProfile[securityContext.userName].lastName} 
I use Open DS as the LDAP and the first attribute in LDAP is cn and the lastname attribute is sn, we want to get the values of these when we call #{webCenterProfile[securityContext.userName].firstName}.
I found one archived thread where the same question is asked but without any solution documented.

Edit the "HTML Markup" Layout Component.
In the Display options Tab, click the Edit Icon (v) next to the Value Property and select "Expression Builder...".

1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?
