DITTO!!
zen vision60gb.
I have around 50 albums that have ended up like this!? i wrote the appropriate lp and track titles. they?are mostly wave tracks converted from vinyl, i converted them to wma and still the same <unknown>. im now travelling and not?able to use my computer. i wonder if there is software one can?load onto the player, (while in an internet cafe!).
It does seem odd being a top of the range gizmo.

  • ZEN VISION:M What happened to the Album art???/What do you use to transf

I've had my zen vision m since last summer and absolutely love it. Recently though I reformatted and added my entire library with the zen vision m media explorer like I always do. I have always tagged my music with musicmatch jukebox so that the album art shows up on my zen. This time however there is no album art. What's going on, is it the new firmware?
How do the rest of you add your tracks? There's at least fi've different ways I've discovered to do it, but in the past the media explorer was always the best.

    Hi,
I think you're in fullscreen mode. Press F11 to turn it off/on.

  • Should i buy zen vision: m now or wa

till a newer player to be out? i'm a bit put off by the thickness and weight of the player. but.. i really love the player and its interface. so.. does anyone know whether creative will release a player along the likes of zen vision: m but that is thinner and lighter?

I tried "reset", didn't help!! The player still enters recover mode after resetting.
before entering recovery mode, it displays a message like "firmware problem" quickly.
BTW, recover mode is mentioned on page 27 of user manual.
Normally, a player enters normal operation mode. recover mode is for tasks like
    firmware upgrade, format etc.
to manually enter recover mode, slide and hold power switch to "on", at the same time press the reset hole.

  • Question about long audiobook files before I buy Zen Mi

I am in the market to buy a hard dri've MP3 player for the purpose of playing audio books. Specifically, I want to download audio books from my local library's netlibrary account and listen to them on the go (these files are 32kbps DRM WMAs). These files have caused problems for two different players I have tried, due to their long length (most files are over 00MB, and play for 8+ hours). I have an old iRi'ver flash player, which will play these files fine, until you get about 4 hours into the file. Then, when you turn off the player, the time elapsed jumps from where you were to 2 hours or so. What this means is that you can't listen to the entire book unless you play the book for its entire duration without stopping it or turning it off. I next tried a Rio Carbon, but it has a different problem. Every time you turn off the Carbon and turn it back on, it will lose it's place in the file by 0min-hour, depending on how long the track is and how much you have listened to. The only ways around this is to either never turn the player off, or write down the time elapsed before you turn off the player, and then fast forward to that time when you turn the Carbon back on. After fighting with it for a week, I returned the Carbon.
So my question is, has anyone actually used a Zen Micro to listen to a very long audiobook, and does it have any weird issues like I have experienced with other players? All I want the thing to do is remember where I left off when I power off the device, within a few seconds.
    Thanks

Lots of people have audio books on their micros and i havent head of anyone complaining about them. one good feature the micro has that i believe other dont is the ability to place book marks in a song/audio book at a set time so you can automatically go to where you want without searching.so you could save the book marks for each chapter or something.

  • MediaMoneky With Zen Vision:M; what do i d

I really like MediaMonkey since it is an alternati've to the itunes, but for other mp3 players. The trouble i have is when i sync it to my vision:m, i cant add music nor do album art stuff. Can anyone tell me how to do it's I will appreciate your generousity.

Ive been trying to come up with album art and it took me a while to do it. finally i learned that i can google it, but i just go to walmart.com, go under music and find the album that i am looking for and then right click and save picture as.... Then when im ready, open the "media explorer", go to browse, select the artist (the albums must be listed) and then drag the album art to the icon with the album name under the icon. Hope this helps

  • Please, please bring out a Zen Vision:M with integrated digital camera!

Is there some chance to contact the development division of creative and ask for a Zen Vision:M with integrated digital camera? there are mobiles out there with 0 Megapixel cameras and they don?t have a 30 GB disk space.
There would be nothing better then have this nice Vision:M mp3 player with an integrated camera..
one additional use for Vision:M besides using for listining to mp3 is to keep and carry around photos with it anyways.. so why don?t they bring it our with camera? wouldn?t need to take photos with another devise, transfer these photos to the pc/mac and then transfer them back on Vision:M.... just carrying aroung one devise would be so much better... but I guess that is also some marketing stuff... first sell this generation of Vision:M, and then wait some time and come out with the new generation of players, with finally integrated camera... or maybe just wait, until ipod brings them out first... anyways, I really don?t see a technical problem for this...
Olympus m:robe 500 put a mp3 camera on the market a couple of years ago, though it can't really compete with Vision:M on the mp3 player part.
    any comments from anyone?

I actually disagree, reason being that when you take into account the cameras that are build into the phones they are at most adequate, 2MP is the current theme (at least in UK I think). The option/settings/tweeks with the phone cameras is poor when you look at it, stand alone digital cams offer better features compared with phone digicams, then you have the power too, to dri've a good camera if you have one then you know required decent batteries, storage (ok you have a hard dri've so that is sorted) but take into consideration that you will always get better results with a digicam than phone cameras and you can see that would be a waste of time for the time being.
There is an old saying "Jack of all trades, Master of none" and this seemes to hold true to the phone cameras. Don't get me wrong it would be nice to have it only and only if you have all the features of the stand alone one with big resolution and so on, heck I have a Nokia 6230 and like it very much but my old 3.2MP Cannon (by all means not the best and not the newest?in the world) gives me far better/superior results than the the one on the phone even can. What would be cool to have is a port where you can hook them both up and use the Mp3 players HDD to store (I know you can on some Creative players) your snaps without having to buy or have attachments, just plug a mini USB and you are off. Technology as always moves forward and an astonishing reate and new gadgets?come out?and quality improves, battery life lengthens and so on, so we might even see this happen. Ttill the time where they are on par with most consumer digicams?I will be?witholding in buying one.Message Edited by RobertM on 03-0-20062:57 PM

  • Hear before you buy

This has probably been asked before... I find the sample you hear inadequate. Is there a way to hear the entire song before you buy? If not, what other legal services do this?

Is there a way to hear the entire song before you buy?
    No.
If not, what other legal services do this?
None I know of except for subscription services (i.e. you pay a monthly fee for access to all the tracks) or some independent sites that trust the users to pay.

The guys at anythingbutipod.com opened up a ZVM already and it *can* be opened, and the battery quite easily accessed. So down the line, when the battery starts to fail, and the warranty has expired, I'm sure you will be able to find a new replacement battery online and replace it yourself.

  • Zen Vision M VS Video Ipod

<SPAN class=postbody>I've been wondering what the lucky ones that already have bought a Zen Vision M think of it ?I got to upgrade my Ipod Photo and was wondering if i should either go for the Ipod Video or Zen Vision M. Both look like they are good players and i've purchased quite a few models from Creative but resorted to go with the ipod cause size does matter to me plus I must say the interface from what my ZEN NX was a fabulous upgrade. But now I wonder if i should jump back with Creative. I know the ZEN NX is outdated and wanted to know how the new model compared to the 5G Ipod. I understand that few already have one in their hands so I thought this would be the best place to ask.
<SPAN class=postbody>I've looked alot on the net for comparaison websites and i've found so far just one here that gives a Ipod 5G VS Creative Zen Vision M review. Anyone got another more complete website perhaps ? Or perhaps one of you first hand tried both ?Would love to have an honest and unbiased advice.thanks!

Well, if size is important to you, then the iPod 30GB is your best choice. The new 30GB iPod is less than half an inch thick, which makes the Zen Vision: M nearly twice as thick. The 60GB iPod is only as thick as the iPod mini was.
The Zen Vision: M claims twice as much battery life for video as the 30GB iPod, using 500kbps MPEG-4. Apple's battery life rating is based on H.264 video encoded at 768kbps for video and 28kbps audio. That's nearly 900kb
    ps.
Apple always bases their battery life claims off of what they sell at the iTunes Music Store, and that is what the video they sell is encoded at.
The iPod DOES support H.264 video. The Zen Vision: M does not. This means that you can get a video down to about 480kbps (384 video 96 audio). Go here http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/ and test it out for yourself. Video at that bitrate looks fantastic. Much much much better than WMV, divx/xvid, or standard MPEG-4 at that bitrate. You can get the same quality as xvid/divx, or MPEG-4 at half the bitrate with H.264. WMV is just too bad to even look at when talking about those bitrates.
Get the iPod. Use H.264, get better image quality or the same image quality at lower bitrates with longer battery life. Get a smaller player. Be happy.

  • Some questions about creative zen vision m?????????????

hi, i just have a few questions about the creative zen vision m
) what transmitter should i by if i want to listen to my music through the radio?
2)can the creative zen vision m play music videos and home videos?
3)can anyone suggest any completey safe music stores i can use to get my music.(last time i downloded a music place to get my music from called share it almost destoyed my comp.
    4) if not would i be able to burn my songs from itunes and use the c.d. to put them on my creative?
thank you so much i'v looked all over the internet and i could't hide any answers.

. There are MANY transmitters out there. I recommend searching back for past threads with recommendations.
    2. Yes, if they are in a suitable format.
    3. I already gave you a link in a previous question to a thread all about this. Please don't post duplicate questions.
    4. With iTunes you either need to burn the tracks to a CDRW, then convert to MP3/WMA, or use a program like JHymn to convert (Google JHymn).

  • I need help with my Zen Vision M.. PLEASE HELP

Hey, I'm having sooo much trouble with my Zen Vision M... so i was wondering if anyone could help me out.. i hav a couple of ?s that i desperately need answered. . All of my album art is the same and its driving me crazy. How do i change the album art?2. Is the battery in the Vision M removable?3. Can Zen Vision M shuffle songs?4. I used to have an Ipod.. i was wondering if?i could directly transfer songs from itunes to Zen MediaSource?~~~~~~~~~?Any help will be really helpful! Especially if?someone can help me with the album art!! THANKS GUYS!!

. All of my album art is the same and its driving me crazy. How do i change the album art???Not an easy answer for this one without knowing more about how you are setting the album art.
There are two types of album art embedding.
One is where the album art is embedded directly in the tags of every Mp3 file. (a bit waste of space)? The second option (which is the more common method) is where each file has embeded information pointing to an external image for the album art. This is more efficient on space, and is often the one that end up with people having the same art on every song.
Usually what happens is people put the songs in a common directory and not in subdirectories such as Artist/Album/mysong.mp3. With all the files in one flat directory often the album art (depending on software) gets saved with the same filename such at album.jpg.
And he album.jpg file gets overwritten, and since all the songs think "their" album art is in the album.jpg file they all end up with the same art being displayed.
Easiest solution is to copy the files into folders to organize them by album, and then reapply the album art.
Since doing that on my ZVM I haven't had any problems with art getting lost or duplicated in ways I did not want. ?2. Is the battery in the Vision M removable???Unfortunatly it isn't.
?3. Can Zen Vision M shuffle songs???There are several random play options for music.
In my opinion doesn't really feal that "random" though. 4. I used to have an Ipod.. i was wondering if?i could directly transfer songs from itunes to Zen MediaSource??You will need to export them to MP3 from itunes. Checkout the Creative KB on how to do it. Its solution ID 4653.

  • Is it possible to charge Zen Vision:M without drivers install

Ok, here's the deal.. I bought my Vision:M, installed the software on my home computer, charged the player up, put my songs on.. Everything went fine. I had to go out of town, so I brought my laptop, thinking I'd use it to recharge my player. However, when I tried to install the software, I found out that it's not compatible with anything other than Windows XP (I have windows 2000 professional on my laptop) So, I tried just plugging my player into the USB port on the laptop anyway. The player turned on, and the lightning bolt came on over the battery. Hooray! But, it never did actually charge. Left it plugged in overnight (about 6 hours) and in the morning it had the same amount of charge as when I had first plugged it in. So, today I visited a couple electronics stores to try to find a car charger.. no luck. Nobody had a charger made by creative labs, and the "uni'versals" I tried didn't work.
I bought and tried two. Both caused the player to turn on when plugged in, but neither actually charged it (the lightning bolt never even came on over the batttery pic) I can't seem to find drivers anywhere for this that will work with Windows 2000. Found a 39 meg file on this site here (the player organizer, I think) but even that wouldn't install, because it said it failed to detect a supported product (my zen was plugged in, but now has no battery at all left) So, sorry to ramble so much... Can anyone help Is there any way for me to charge this thing I'm gonna have a LONG dri've home (400 miles) and don't want to do that without my tunes. Thanks in advance!

I use this one: Griffin Technology iTrip Auto Uni'versal Plus (7259TRIPUNP)http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Griffin-Technology-iTrip-Auto-Uni'versal-Plus-7259TRIPUNP/sem/rpsm/oid/68474/catOid/-2927/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do?Its an FM transmiitter and if you take along the sync adapter and your USB cable you can plug it in to the Itrip and the Zen Vision M will charge as your are listening to it.

  • Zen Vision M: Artist tags (recognizing "the&quo

Not a major problem, but it would be great if someone knows something you can download to the Creative Zen Vision:M so that it detects when there is the word "the" at the beginning of the Artist Name tag and ignore.
That way, when it lists out artists all the bands that start with "the" will not be pushed together and towards the end.
Anybody know a way to get around this?
    Thanks

Ah yes... The old word "The" in artist name request. This is a request that CL has had a few times over the years. I know the first time I requested it was back in Nov 2004;http://forums.americas.creative.com/....id=2735#M2735Most other brand software figured out how to do this years ago, but for whatever reason CL likes to have "The Beatles" under "T" instead of under "B" where it goes.
