Being sold wrong package by BT

I agreed to Infinity package basic by a member of the BT staff over the phone being told it was only a couple of pounds more than my old BB.  I have letters stating it's £18 offering me the package.  I have been away travelling and come back to a bill for £26 a month for the most expensive option on there.  I received no paper bill before going away and so is only now on returning I have discovered I have been sold a much more expensive option to the one I agreed to over the telephone.  When i called BT I was told my someone who could barely understand me that I agreed to an 18 month contract and there is nothing they can or will do.
Can anyone please recommend as this seems illegal to me? I only opted for the package sold over the telephone that most definitely was not the one I've now been given.

  • Sold a package i can not even get?

    Hey
So this last week my infinity 2 has be horrendous. It's taken 8 days to sort out the constant disconnects and now my internet is running at what i thought was half speed for my line (30MBs up compared to the 74MBs i'm supposed to be getting).
So i was amazed and astounded when the customer support told me the max that my line could take was 44MBs. Have i been paying for infinity 2 for the last 2 years, when, according to customer support, i could only ever get the speed of infinity 1?
Can anyone shed some light as to what the hell is going on? Do i need to think about making a court case for being sold a package that i can not even get or do BT need to properly train their CS employee's to read the correct information from their screens?
Doing a DSLcheck with dslchecker.bt.com results in http://prntscr.com/4fc0te so i am a bit confused on the situation
I have an engineer coming out next wednesday to apparently try and bump my line back up to the supposed 44MBs my line can now handle, but for me this isn't good enough.

The sync speed is the speed of the low level connection between the cabinet and the modem.  That is determined by the cab and the modem, based on the rules of Digital Line Management (DLM).
The ip profile is a limit imposed at the exchange (or somewhere near there) on the higher level (PPPoE) connection between the exchange and the HomeHub)router.  The idea of the IP profile is to prevent your data being sent from the exchange to the cabinet faster than the cabinet can pass it on to you.  The IP profile is automatically set from the sync speed whenever a high level connection is re-established.  It is set to a value just below the sync speed (around 96.8%), to allow for certain overheads.  The actual download speed will be at best a little less still because of yet more overheads.
The sync speed is automatically adjusted when the low level connection breaks, or when DLM decides to give you slightly more or less speed (usually in the middle of the night to limit disruption).  Often a break in the low level connection forces a break in the high level connection, and so the IP profile is automatically reset when the low level sync is re-established.  Quite often the high level connection is not broken and continues despite the new sync speed.  This results in a 'stale' IP profile.  If the new sync speed is lower, you will only get the lower speed as that is all the line can (for the time being) manage.  If the new sync speed is higher, you won't get the benefit as the IP profile will act as a throttle.  For that reason we often suggest people disconnect and reconnect the ROUTER (NOT the modem) each morning if they suspect there might be changes; to force a profile reset.  If you have an unlocked modem (as you must have) and can see the sync speed, then you can tell more exactly when a mismatch has happened and thus whether such a disconnect/reconnect is needed

You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it.  If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

  • Is iPhone 4s still being sold in Apple stores?

My iPhone 4s is no more functional. I want to purchase another one, but I am not interested in the newer models (4s is big enough for me). I noticed it is still being sold by other stores and carriers. But what about Apple? And could I get anything (discount) if I bring in my old one?

I went to the store and they replaced it for me for 199.99$. I now have a brand new iPhone 4s .

  • I'm wondering about using Apple loops in music. Is it ok to do so to make music for people to hear, without it being sold. And how do you get permission to use them in music to sell?

I'm wondering about using Apple loops in music. Is it ok to do so to make music for people to hear, like on soundcloud or other websites, without it being sold. And how do you get permission to use them in music to sell?

From the LOGIC STUDIO SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT   :
    C. Except as otherwise indicated, you may use the Apple and third party audio file content (including, but not limited to, the Apple Loops, built-insound files, samples and impulse responses) (collectively the “Audio Content”), contained in or otherwise included with the Apple Software, on aroyalty-free basis, to create your own original soundtracks for your film, video and audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your ownsoundtracks that were created using the Audio Content, however, individual Apple loops, audio files, sound settings, samples and impulse responsesmay not be commercially or otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, soundfiles, sound effects or music beds.
This means, you can use all Apple Loops in your music, they're royality-free.

  • SAP Best Practise. Requirement for CERTIFICATES for products being sold

    Hi All
Please share is there a SAP Best Practice for using CERTIFICATES in SAP?
There is a legal requirement in Russia for products being SOLD: if product is subject to cerification, then company is now allowed to sell such product if certicate is missing or expired.
    - product should be blocked for sales order/ quoatation if mandatory ceriticate is missing or expired.
Is there a SAP Best Practice for this kind of process?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Andrey

    Hi
I suppose this can be achieved through DMS (Document Mangament System).
You can customize the cross plant material master settings and link it to the DMS module.
The suggesstion I am givng is very high level, but it might help you to put your thoughts in that direction.

  • HGA7T Antenna - still being sold by Linksys?

I have a WRT54g Linksys Router.  My local computer firm sold me a HGA7S antenna when I asked for a solution to some spotty wireless internet coverage in my home.  I unscrewed one of the antennas in back and tried to screw in the HGA7S, but couldn't figure out how to do it.  From what I have been able to tell from looking at Linksys's product page, the HGA7T is for the WRT54G because it has a TNC connector, while the HGA7S has a SMA connector.  So, the 7T seems right, but my computer guy is saying that the 7S is now being sold for all models of routers (according to his Linksys sales rep).  I notice that the 7T is hard to find.  Is there some adopter to make the 7S work with the WRT54g?

Linksys HGA7T are compatible and commonly used for Linksys routers and access points like WRT54GS, WRT54G, WAP54G, BEFW11S4, WAP11 and it has an optional stand, AS2TNC.
On the other hand HGA7S (1 piece antenna) are compatible with wireless adapters and wireless bridge like WMP54G, WMP54GS, WET54G, WET54GS5 and also compatible with WRV54G. It has an optional stand, AS1SMA.

I have a new Mac computer that has imovie.  I recently made a movie that i would like to burn to a DVD.  I hear that idvd is no longer being sold.  Is there software on the computer that i can use to burn a dvd or is there a recommended software to use?

There is no really satisfactory substitute for iDVD to burn video files from iMovie.
Whilst Macs with a Superdrive continue to be able to burn video DVDs, the software for so doing, iDVD, is no longer included in the iLife bundle that comes with OS 10.7 Lion (which also omitted iWeb) or will come with OS 10.8 Mountain Lion. And it is no longer included in the iLife 11 from the online Apple Store: http://www.apple.com/ilife/. Your only solution is to look on Amazon or eBay and try to get an older version that includes iDVD 7, i.e. iLife version 9 onwards. You should also do this if you plan to buy a new Mac anytime soon, as stocks of iLife that include iDVD will not be available for ever.
However, the vastly more expensive FCPX can burn a DVD without iDVD or DVD Studio Pro involvement, but lack the themes etc of iDVD. Also, of course, there is Roxio Toast, which is the best software for burning anything but again does not offer the flexibility of iDVD.

  • Next problem for Canadian orders - incompatible warranties being sold!

I received my T61p, and in a reasonable timeframe, so it looks like that issue is being fixed for the Canadian ordering system, but now I find that the warranty I was sold is "Not a compatible service product for the machine provided".
I, like many others, chose (and paid for) the option to upgrade to the 3 year on site warranty, as was made available on the ordering system, but received the above message in quotes back when I tried to register my warranty.
This problem has been documented over on Notebookreview
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

As I reported on Notebookreview, I’ve encountered exactly the same problem.
In the first two months of this year, I spent considerable time trying to decide what kind of laptop to buy as a replacement for my aging desktop. I finally settled on a ThinkPad T61P.  A major factor was that, for several weeks the Lenovo Canada online configurator offered for $179 “3 Year EasyServ + 3 Year ThinkPad Protection for 3 Year EasyServ ThinkPad.” On February 29, I placed the order online with only a minimum of difficulty. My credit card was subsequently charged $1,704, including $179 for the service/support package.
A week ago, I learned through the Lenovo Services Registration that this package was deemed “incompatible” with my system. A phone call to customer service revealed the meaning of incompatibility – the configurator had been wrong at the time of purchase and even with “a 10 per cent discount” it would cost me an additional $200 plus to get the same level of support I thought I had already purchased.
As a semi-retired person on a fixed income, this was beyond my budget. I settled for three-years of in-depot warranty service, costing $10 more than I’d originally paid for a package combining this with accident protection.
The entire incident has left me feeling like the victim of a bait and switch. I can understand a company’s need to protect itself against errors on its website. But these particular mistakes were up on the site for several weeks, if not months, and must have been well-known to Lenovo sales staff. For this reason, they look less like an oversight than a marketing strategy. Certainly, they worked on me.

  • Completely mi sold my package

I was sold a sky package as a new customer being offered sky go on 4 devices. I explained my children have kindle fires but was not told it doesn't work on there.  Decided to put the sky go on the children's iPod touches instead but when trying to add onto mine and my husbands iPads, I'm advised I can only have it on 2 devices,! Having spent 4.5 hrs on the phone to sky today to sort out a failed broadband installation I'm at the end of my tether! Sky help is now closed and can't get through to anyone on the so called live chat! I feel like I was totally ripped off at the point of sale.

This thread is a few months old but I thought I'd have a go at putting my oar in, just in case someone is still listening. Personally, over the last few years I've become increasingly disgusted that loyal Sky and Kindle customers still don't know the truth about why Sky Go isn't available on Kindle Fires. I understand completely that it's Sky's, or Amazon's choice over what service works on what device, I just want to know WHY they have decided Sky Go and Kindle Fire can't be friends. That way, I can make an informed decision on what to do. And of course, I presume that's what Sky and/or Amazon are afraid of - an informed decision that will result in me and many others dropping one in favour for the other, and that is simply a disgraceful way to treat customers. Oh, and for the record, I'm TIRED of Sky rolling out the same platitudes - "Sky is committed to improving compatibility; Sky Go is currently not compatible with Kindle devices; Watch this space; blah, blah..."  Two things please - the TRUTH (we can handle it) and an honest statement on the likelihood of future compatibility.

  • HP Photosmart 7520 being sold when they know its not working correctly.

With HP reccommendation last week, I purchased the Photosmart 7520 all in one printer for my Mac from Best Buy in Portsmouth.   I installed, uninstalled and re-installed 6 times as I could not get the apps to work.  I placed the call to HP and the guy said "oh, we do not support those apps that you see on the top part of the printer screen, only the ones below.  He told me to download the manual and that might help me... really...  So the next day, a deep breath, and I began again figuring I was doing something wrong.  Still would not work.  I decided to try HP again, it was a new day.  This time after explaining everything the technicial support person told me there was indeed a problem and they know it and are working on this.  I said why would HP continue to sell something that clearly does not work.  He agreed...  I can now see on this help area, this is an ongoing problem and not something new.  The tech I spoke to did not tell me there was a fix being worked on at all.
So now I guess I need to box this up and return it to Best Buy.  Oh and also another funny thing that does not work.  I can not use the touch screen period.  If I want to print or scan, I need to do so from my computer - oh, and I can't print on 4X6 photo paper, it will not feed...  HP you have dissappointed me.
