Belkin tunecast 2 fm transmit

will the work with a creative zen touch?if not what will it work with?

Most newer wireless headphones are in the 900MHz or 2.4GHz range. I believe there are some higher than that as well. Anyway. Yes there is occasional static and frequency stomping by more powerful broadcasts but of any of the FM transmitters I would have to recommend the TuneCast II or similar. It is one of the only ones I know of that use the full FM spectrum and not just 2 or 3 predefiined frequencies like 88.3, 88.5 and 88.9 or whatever.
All I did was try to find the weakest FM stations allong my normal dri've and then programmed the TC II's presets for those stations. Made a preset for each on my radio and just switch as I dri've.
I would have used a Tape adapter but that's another wire hanging in my way plus the FM is usable in more situations especially when I get in a car etc. that has only a CD player. The FM modulator would have worked but the radio is a pain to accss in a '96 Sable.

• Trouble connecting Ipod Touch 2G to Belkin Tunecast auto

Hi there! I just bought my Ipod Touch 2G on this Chritsmas and find it really cool, but... I have this one problem, when I try to connect it to my new Belkin Tunecast auto, it just doesn't stop sending the audio trough the internal speakers in order to ear the sound on the external ones, (in this case my auto-stero via AM/FM signal) and I know the problem is not the belkin transmiter because I also try it on my Ipod nano, and it works perfect there, so I think something happens with my Ipod touch, can you tell me if that's normal, I mean can the iPod Touch send the audio outside from the "charging port" like many others ipod's or it have to be done by the headphone output only, help me please, thanks!

The Belkin Tunecast Auto does not support the iPod Touch and you will not get it to work. Please read the description of the product here :-
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=263595
It clearly shows what devices work with it and the iPod Touch is NOT listed.

• IPod nano freezing when plugged into Belkin Tunecast

Everything has been working fine with my ipod nano 3rd generation until recently. I tried to plug it into the tunecast in my car and the ipod froze. I've tried resetting it and this still happens. A different ipod has been working fine with the tunecast which makes me think there is nothing wrong with the belkin but the ipod is fine even when plugged into the computer which makes me wonder which one is not working properly. Any ideas????

I am having this exact same issue with my wife's 3g, 8GB nano and her Monster iCarPlay. the Monster unit and the nano worked fine together for a week or two but now the nano locks up when connected to it. You disconnect the nano and it goes back to working fine. I have reset the nano while both connected and not connected to the Monster and have done a restore in iTunes and I am still having the same issue. I called support and they basically told me to buy a new car adapter. I don't believe this is a good solution since the Monster worked with the nano for a couple of weeks when we first got it and the Monster still works fine with both my wife's and my old ipod mini's. Any suggestions?

• Using iPod with Belkin Tunecast II Mobile Transmitter

I purchased this today and tried to set up this evening. The Belkin works off audio levels from the iPod, but when I attach it to my iPod it does not come on (it is supposed to come on automatically when it senses the audio level). I tried it with batteries and with the adapter to the cig lighter which should power the Belkin. Nothing. I tried a set of headphones on the iPod, nothing. I tried the ear buds that came with the iPod and (after having to reset the iPod) did get audio. It appears that the only audio plug working with my iPod is the one on the ear buds which came from the mfg. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my iPod. The iPod also freezes when I use either of the 2 audio plugs NOT on my ear buds. Any suggestions? Any recommendations for a good way to play my iPod from the car radio? Thank you!

I am having the same problem, I thought it was the Belkin thing that wasn't working because I turn it on and it works and as soon as I plug the wire into the Belkin it just shuts off. I really don't want to try to restore the ipod, cause I'm not that good at this stuff and I don't know how to backup my songs and I have a lot on there. Did restoring it work for you?

• Belkin FM Transmit

I just bought my Zen Micro and i ordered a ... I realized after i bought it (the Transmitter), that it was a Belkin TuneCast FM Transmitter and not a Belkin <SPAN class=prod_page_name>TuneCast II Mobile FM Transmitter...is there any difference in Belkin and Belkin 2? Thanks

I agree, don't get an FM transmitter if your tape adapter works. The only "good" FM transmitter I've seen are the Griffin ones for Ipods. They seem to get it right, little static, and you don't have to crank your car stereo up to get a halfway decent sound. It's very frustrating that all electronic stores seem to bend over backwards to accomadate iPod users, and think that other mp3 players have no market.
I'm thinking about building my own FM transmitter from this website. http://www.hobbytron.com/fm_transmitter.html
But I'm not sure if I want to invest the time to make it. I have the TuneCast Mobile FM Transmitter F8V367, and I have to have it touching my body at all times, or else it's all static.

• Fm transmit

I wish I checked here before I bought a Belkin tunecast for my zen extra. I use it only in my car and it's horrible. I searched this forum and the only discussion I found was last May where it seemed the concensus was the iRi'ver transmitter was best. Is that still the case? I don't know if it makes a big difference, but my fm antenna is in the rear of the car and my zen needs to be up front, about 0 feet from the antenna. Thanks, glenn

I personally don't think you'll find a GOOD transmitter for any price in the USA & Canada, due to FCC regulations. They just don't want you to have too much transmitting power so that you step on commercial broadcasts.
Look at it this way: if a handful of ppl have decent transmitters and use unused frequencies in their area, it won't be much of a problem. However, if everyone who owns an iPod also has a good transmitter, morons will be ruining radio transmissions all over the country. Your favorite radio station will be stepped on by someone's iPod tune every couple blocks.
If you need more power (and IMHO, everyone that NEEDS a transmitter NEEDS a more powerful one) then you might have to take matters into your own hands.
Do a Google search on iTrip Mods and Tunecast Mods, see what you turn up. I've modded my Tunecast, and it works much better. You'll need to use a soldering iron, but it is not a difficult mod at all.

• Belkin Serial Num

I went to register my bew Belkin and I can't find the serial number on my Belkin TuneCast II. Could somebody please tell me where to look please? Thank you so much. Pictures showing the location (if possible on this forum) would be truly appreciated! Is it on the package or on the item itself or on both? Sincerely, Gwyneth

According to the Knowledge Base:
<FONT color=#0033ff>Serial and model numbers of portable MP3 players can be located either on the external casing or inside the battery compartment there is a replaceable battery.

• Improving FM Transmit

Hello all?Does anyone have any suggestions on improving the singal/sound quality from the transmitter I've just bought?I've found?a couple of things from various places: namely crack it open (literally) and expose the antennae, or use a headphone extension cable?to connect it to act as a sort of amplifier (which sounds a bit dubious). Another option could be to swap this transmitter for one that uses frequencies that are further away from ones already in use: I've got a radio station at 07.2 MHz and all the options for?this transmitter are around 07MHz. Are any of these things worth doing? Any other ideas? Thanks!

I've got a that I use in my car with my Zen Micro.
It's best to get the version that has a 2 volt cigarette lighter adapter, as the battery powered FM transmitters run down fairly quickly.
I used on it. It was quick, cheap & easy to do and really improved the reception and range.
They work best if you li've in an area that doesn't have lots of powerful FM stations. I've been on long trips and all of a sudden would start getting interference from local stations running on the same band.
One of the nice features of the TuneCast II is that it has several pre-sets, so you can switch to another frequency if you run into interference.

Why would it be cool? It would make the player bulkier and heavier than it is now.
I don't know how much bulkier/heavier it'd be, my Belkin TuneCast II is fairly light & small when stripped to the bare circuit board.
Battery life would suffer though and it'd give users one more thing to complain about if it didn't work perfectly every time. :|

• Help on Belkin and Car adapter suggest

Hi guys,
I got a belkin tunecast II fm transmitter but it doesn't have a car adapter. so i need to change everytime its battery and it really costing me a lot for new ones. Do you guys know where could I buy that car adapter? and also are there any adapters you guys know that I can also charge my zvision:m while using the fm transmitter both at the same time charging it's
appreciate the help.

I can't comment on the MQ Adapter as I've never used it however the Oracle AQ Adapter is very straight forward to use.
I'm assuming the Oracle Database AQ Queue and Object type has already been set up. I'm also assuming that it is Oracle database level Queueing system 'AQ' we are talking about and not OJMS.
Ensure you have created a connection to the Oracle Database that hosts the AQ Queue you want to monitor for messages (pull/Dequeue) or send messages to (push/Enqueue).
You should find the AQ Adapter Wizard steps for the AQ Adapter Service fairly intuitive.
From you ESB project in jDeveloper select and drag the AQ Adapter option from the Adapter Services drop down (or right click on the ESB design panel).
Through the Wizard you will
Select a Name for the Service
Select a database connection
Select a Database Schema
Select an AQ Queue name (You can browse the Database schema using the Wizards browse button to find and select it)
For the Consumer (I think it's step 5) use the name of the user used for the AQ Queue creation
Step 6 (if memory serves me right) Select Business Payload = Whole Object <YourAQObjectType)
And that should be it!
In addition, I haven't looked at this example myself but hopefully they'll be some pointers in here you'll find useful

• Three Questions Re: Monster iCarPlay FM Transmitter

1. Is it worth the price? Its twice the cost of the Belkin TuneCast. Is the sound quality that much better?
2. Whats the difference between the iCarPlay and the iCarPlay Plus?
3. Is price wasnt an issue, what would be the FM transmitter of choice?
Thanks!!

to be fair, i don't have either unit, but... i've read a number of really strong reviews of the kensington digital FM transmitter. like the monster, it plugs into the cigarette lighter, so you're not using battery power. (this is either a plus or a minus, depending on whether you ever want to transmit away from your vehicle.) but after quite a lot of research, it appears that the kensington is almost universally hailed for the quality of transmission. i've been an itrip user for years, and have tried to keep up with the latest advancements, and i've never seen an FM transmitter get such uniformly high ratings for sound quality, so i'm thinking it has to be really good. you might want to look into it. retails for about $75, but you can find it online for more like 50.

• Ipod Shuffle FM transmitter with Zen Mic

Would a fm transmitter for the ipod shuffle transmit fm and charge the zen micro? I know it would charge the zen micro, but I'm not sure if the micro outputs audio through the usb jack? Below is one of the transmitters that I've found, and wonder if it works?
http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/XtremeMac_AirPlay_digital_player_FM_transmitter__c harger_for_car/4505-659_6-3424389.html?tag=txt
Just looking for a good FM tuner, and if it will charge the micro at the same time that'd be great. I have the belkin tunecast II and it doesn't work well at all in my girlfriend's Ford Escape, so I'm trying to find something better.

I did check the site; it's not clear how it connects to the iPod shuffle, but from seeing speakers made for it, I'm sure it connects both thru USB for charging and to a "Walkman jack" for sound. (The iPod shuffle does not have a dock connector.) It should work with the following caveats:
You'll need a USB cable for the power connection (extra), plus an audio cable (probably comes with it).</LI>
You should upgrade to the latest firmware (..0 or 2.20.05) for "locked charging" capability, a must for any third-party charger.</LI>
Before connecting, set the power switch to "locked"; you can unlock it once the "breathing glow" has begun.</LI>

• VERY DISSAPOINTED at the lack of accessori

Very, very, very dissapointed at the complete lack of accessories for the Creative line. I own a creative micro photo 8 gb which I purchased two days ago. I started out with the Sleek photo, but was very dissapointed in the sound quality. I used 4 different set's of headphones, and they all sounded like garbage. I exchanged it for the creative zen microphoto, and what a world of difference in sound quality, using those same headphones I had used before.
Now, I want to listen in my car. The creative site advertises the belkin tunecast fm transmitter. The store I bought it from had it, so i bought it too. This too, was a dissapointment, as 88. was a dead station in my area and my sirius unit broadcasts crystal clear to this station. With my sirius unit off, and unplugged, i attached the belkin tunecast to the creative and heard a lot of static and garbage. I didn't matter where I moved the tunecast and the player too, it was not clear, had a lot of static, and was again, another dissapointment.
I guess I'm done with creative. Sadly, I love the X-fi line of sound cards, as I have the the extreme music version. However, the lack of support for any sort of car dock, to hardwire the player into the stereo, or any sort of decent fm transmitter that fits on the creative player (like the i trip) is going to make me *dry heaves* buy an IPOD.
I REALLY like the player itself. I am dissapointed that none of the creative accessories (what few there are) were carried in ANY retail store. Wal-mart, Best Buy, Circuit city, none of those had ANYTHING. No cases, no speakers, nothing. Come on Creative, get it together. You came halfway and made a great player, now follow through and offer supporting accessories. -
Someone, please enlighten me as to other resources I can use to hardware my player, or at least a decent fm transmitter.

JK23 no offense, but I am not lugging around a huge set of speakers that requires AC Power. What I am referring too is a powered speaker system that has a built in dock. One simple piece of equipment that I can stick in a suit case that requires no AC power, but runs on batteries. Yeah I know about the travel speakers and I also could go out and buy a boombox that has an aux-input. But guess what JK, if I had an iPod I wouldn't have to do either of those because there are dozens of companies that make power speakers systems with a built in dock. Creative made a nice one for the Zen Micro, but you'd think with the ZV:M being their Cadillac they would have been smart enough to realize they needed to make one for it.
The fact is there is no powered speaker system with dock for the ZV:M because creative doesn't make one and apparently no one else in the industry has any incenti've to do so. I won't except excuses and I darn sure won't make any for them, nor will I suggest that someone buy something else, when clearly that isn't what they want.
I could buy a set of computer speakers anywhere, but that isn't what I want and if I had an iPod that isn't what I'd have to settle for, so I hope this clears that up. I know I am being rather blunt, so don't get offended, just setting the record straight.
