I am suffering the overheating issue in my HP Pavilion DV2000 laptop caused by NVIDIA GPU issue.

I am suffering the overheating issue in my HP Pavilion DV2000 laptop caused by NVIDIA GPU issue. When I go to the settlement site http://www.nvidiasettlement.com , I see that the last date of filing the claim expired which was 14th of March 2011. Is there any option remaining for the solution.
I want to get rid of this irritating overheating problem. Is there any option for replacement of NVIDIA GPU at my own cost even in some authorised service centre?

  • The integrated webcam of my HP Pavilion g4 laptop suddenly stopped working

    Hi,
I was using my laptop for video chats. 2 days agao I used skype and everything was alright. Then yesterday when I opened skype, the video was not coming. Some Cyberlink YouCam piture was there which said 'please swtch on your webcam'.
When I opened Cyberlink youcam from 'programs' it gives a message as "No webcam Detected. Try plugging in webcam in your computer now. if you are using and integrated camera, make sure it is turned on.'
there is no way I can turn on the camera... I even did not turn it off!
I read other discussions on this issue and tried everything:
    1. Unistalling and reinstalling the software from recovery manager --- did not help!
    2. There is no 'imaging devices' section in my device manager
    3. In "Sound, Video and game Controller' section there is "Cyberlink WebCAm V irtual Driver' which is Enabled, and Updated to latest version.
Is there anything else I can try so that the webcam works?
    Please help...
    Thanks

  • I'm having audio issues with my hp pavilion dv9910us laptop.

The day before yesterday the sound was working perfectly.. Yesterday I noticed I didn't have any sound so I checked under control panel- hardware and sound and tried to adjust the volume and it says "no audio device installed". Then I went to Device manager to sound, video and game controllers and checked properties and it says the device is working properly. I tried downloading sp42090.exe (an updated driver) but I can't install b/c it says it's already installed. This is so frustrating, don't know what to do. Any  help will be appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum.
Hmm..  sp42090 appears to be the touchpad driver patch (for Vista 64bit).
    Not an audio driver.
Here's the Vista Audio help file to get help get you started:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00833257&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3740565&tmp...
The Audio help page does have some things to try and even a "Mr. Fixit" button.  It may work - I can't test it for you, I'm running Windows 7.  Smiling.
Here's your Software and Driver Page:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=2100&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3740...
Sounds like you've done some homework.
It's not "disabled", is it?  Right click on the sound icon to check...
Nevermind - "no audio output device" is not "disabled".
If the system can find the driver in its own internal backup, it will do so when you reboot the system.  If not, then you start looking for it at the posts above.   Keep us posted - lots of smart folks here to help!
    Hope this helps!

  • Photoshop CC(2014) is having "redraw" or video driver/GPU issues

Since upgrading my Mac to OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), after a working on a file or two, my photoshop image window looks like this:
This is a JPG, after I have opened a RAW file, with Camera Raw 8.7 beta (happened before the Camera Raw
update), and make my adjustments, and save.  Everything seems fine, the jpg preview looks fine, but after working
on about 3 images, EVERY jpg opens and looks something like this.  I can see parts of other recent images
in the garbage as well, and the image changes drastically when I zoom in and out.
I already posted to the Adobe forums, and someone suggested it might be a video driver/GPU issue with the new OS X.
    Any suggestion?

An Adobe employee in the online community had me turn off "Use Graphics Processor" in the photoshop/prefs/performance,
and that worked.  Not a total fix, since I can't use that now, and something is clearly not compatible, but at lease I can use
    Photoshop.

Help. Photoshop CC14 on Mac 5k (2014) running Yosemite 10.10.1. Photoshop stops responding when I'm opening files, saving files or creating new ones. Is anyone suffering the same problem? Does anyone have an answer?

First, go install the MacOS 10.10 updates - you should be on 10.10.2.
I haven't heard of Photoshop not responding during opens and saves.  Does it stop responding while the open/save dialogs are visible, or while Photoshop is actually reading or writing files?
10.10.1 did fix a crash in the open/save dialogs, but 10.10.2 still has some odd issues (mostly program errors coming from the OS code) in the open/save dialogs.

    Hi Jdentremont,
Lync client gets user photos by first querying the Address Book Web Query (ABWQ) service on the server, which is exposed through the Distribution List Expansion web service. The client receives
the image file and then copies it to the user's cache to avoid downloading the image each time it needs to be displayed. The attribute values returned from the query are also stored in the cached Address Book Service entry for the user. The Address Book Service
deletes all cached images every 24 hours, which means that it can take up to 24 hours for new user images to be updated in the cache on the server.
To troubleshoot your problem, please follow the steps below:
    1.  Navigate to
     “X:\share\1-WebServices-1\ABfiles\000000000\000000000” folder. (ABS file share)
You should see some photo files in this folder as the following screenshot.
    2. Delete all the files in this folder.
    3. On test PC, delete local cache files.
    %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]
    4. Sign-in Lync with the test account.
    5. Go back to the ABS file share, check if there is any Photo file in the folder.
    Best regards,
    Eric

  • FAQ: What features use the GPU and how do I troubleshoot GPU issues?

    Photoshop CS6 GPU FAQ
    Introduction
This document provides a quick reference guide to video card usage in Photoshop.  Some features require a compatible video card to work; if the video card or its driver is defective or unsupported, those features will not work at all.  Other features use the video card for acceleration and if the card or driver is defective those features will run more slowly.
    Mercury Graphics Engine
The Mercury Graphics Engine (MGE) represents features that use video card, or GPU, acceleration. In Photoshop CS6, this new engine delivers near-instant results when editing with key tools such as Liquify, Warp, Lighting Effects and the Oil Paint filter. The new MGE delivers unprecedented responsiveness for a fluid feel as you work.
MGE is new to Photoshop CS6, and uses both the OpenGL and OpenCL frameworks. It does not use the proprietary CUDA framework from nVidia.
In order to use MGE, you must have a supported video card and updated driver. If you do not have a supported card, performance will be degraded. In most cases the acceleration is lost and the feature runs in the normal CPU mode. However, there are some features that will not work without a supported video card.
GPU features added in Photoshop CS6
Adaptive Wide Angle Filter (compatible video card required)
Liquify (accelerated by compatible video card with 512MB VRAM, GPU mode unavailable on Windows XP)
Oil Paint (compatible video card required)
Warp and Puppet Warp (accelerated by compatible video card, GPU mode unavailable on Windows XP)
Field Blur, Iris Blur, and Tilt/Shift (accelerated by compatible video
card supporting OpenCL, GPU mode unavailable on Windows XP)
Lighting Effects Gallery (compatible video card required with 512MB
    VRAM, unavailable on Windows XP)
New 3D enhancements (3D features in Photoshop require a compatible video card with 512MB VRAM, unavailable on Windows XP):
    Draggable Shadows
    Ground plane reflections
    Roughness
    On-canvas UI controls

    GPU/OpenGL preferences in Photoshop CS6
The advantages of using a compatible video card (GPU) with Photoshop are that you can experience better performance and more features.   Problems can occur if you have an older video card with limited VRAM or if you use other programs at the same time as Photoshop that use the GPU.
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Photoshop > Preferences (Mac OS).
In the Performance panel, make sure Use Graphics Processor is selected in GPU Settings.
Click Advanced Settings and specify the following options:
    Mode > Basic
    Mode > Normal
Mode > Advanced Provides the benefits of Normal mode as well as newer OpenGL advances that can result in improved performance.
Use Graphics Processor to Accelerate Computation
Use OpenCL Uses the GPU to accelerate the new blur filters (Field Blur, Iris Blur, and Tilt-Shift) – OpenCL will only be available on newer GPUs that support OpenCL v1.1 or higher
Anti-Alias Guides And Paths Allows the GPU hardware to smooth the edges of drawn guides and paths.
30 Bit Display (Windows only) Allows Photoshop to display 30 bit data directly to screen on video cards that support it
    Quick GPU Troubleshooting Steps
You can experience problems such as artifacts, errors, and crashes if there are incompatibilities between Photoshop and the display components that access the GPU.
If you experience crashes, incorrectly rendered windows or objects, redraw issues, or performance issues while running Photoshop, first determine whether OpenGL is causing the problem.
    Turn off OpenGL.
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Photoshop > Preferences (Mac OS).
In the Performance panel, uncheck Use Graphics Processor. Click OK.
Restart Photoshop, and perform the same function.
If the problem recurs while OpenGL Drawing is disabled, OpenGL is not the cause. For additional troubleshooting, see Troubleshoot system errors and freezes | Adobe software on Windows (cpsid_82252) or Troubleshoot system errors and freezes | Adobe software on Mac OS 10.x (cpsid_82414).
If the problem resolves, proceed with the rest of the troubleshooting steps to fix OpenGL.
Make sure that you're using the latest update of Photoshop.Updates fix bugs and issues.
Update the display driver.Updated display drivers can fix many issues, such as crashing, incorrectly rendered objects, and performance problems. Determine what video card you have and go directly to the manufacturer's website (nVidia or ATI/AMD) and download the latest driver. (Note: Simply doing a Windows Update is does not guarantee you are using the latest driver. You must go directly to the nVideo or ATI/AMD websites to get the absolute latest driver.) After you update your driver, turn on Use Graphics Processor in Photoshop preferences.
    Reset preferences.
Resetting preferences returns OpenGL settings to their default status. Reset Photoshop preferences by pressing and holding Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Windows) or Shift+Option+Command (Mac OS) immediately after you start Photoshop.
Click Yes when asked if you want to delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File.
Retry the function that caused the problem.
Change the OpenGL mode to Basic.
Setting the OpenGL mode to Basic uses the least amount of GPU memory and the most basic GPU feature set.
    Close all documents.
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Photoshop > Preferences (Mac OS)
In the Performance panel, click the GPU Settings Advanced Settings button.
    Choose Mode > Basic
    Restart Photoshop.
If this solution resolves the problem, switch to Normal mode. See if the issue recurs. If the issue recurs, return to Basic mode.
Note:  If you’re changing GPU preferences to troubleshoot a problem, re-launch Photoshop after each change.
If you are using more than one video adapter, remove the additional cards.
Multiple video adapters can cause problems with GPU accelerated or enabled features in Photoshop. It's best to connect two (or more) monitors into one video adapter. If you have to use more than one video adapter, make sure that they are the same make and model. Otherwise, crashes and other problems can occur in Photoshop.
Note: Using two video adapters does not enhance Photoshop's performance.
    Check your Cache Levels setting.
If you've set your Cache Levels to 1 in Photoshop preferences, you can experience performance issues with GPU features. Reset Cache Levels to the default setting, which is 4.
Choose Edit > Preferences > Performance (Windows) or Photoshop > Preferences (Mac OS)
In the Performance panel, choose Cache Levels > 4.
    The GPU Sniffer
To help guard against Photoshop crashes related to bad GPU hardware or drivers, Photoshop employs a small program called the GPU Sniffer. Every time Photoshop is launched, Photoshop launches the sniffer. The sniffer runs rudimentary tests of the GPU and reports the results to Photoshop. If the sniffer crashes or reports a failure status to Photoshop, Photoshop will not use the GPU. The Use Graphics Hardware checkbox in the Performance panel of the Preferences will be unchecked and disabled.
The first time the sniffer fails, Photoshop will display a dialog indicating that it has detected a problem with the GPU. On subsequent launches the dialog will not appear unless the Photoshop preferences are reset.
If the user corrects the problem, either by replacing the video card or by updating the driver, then the sniffer will pass on the next launch and the Use Graphics Hardware checkbox will be enabled and returned to its previous state (enabled or disabled).
Tested video cards for Photoshop CS6
Adobe tested the following video cards before the release of Photoshop CS6. This document lists the video card by series. While the minimum amount of VRAM supported on video cards for Photoshop CS6 is 256MB, some features require 512MB of VRAM to be enabled.
Note: Adobe tested laptop and desktop versions of the following cards. Be sure to download the latest driver for your specific model. (Laptop and desktop versions have slightly different names.)
    nVidia GeForce 8000, 9000, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 series
    nVidia Quadro 400, 600, 2000, 4000 (Mac & Win), CX, 5000, 6000
    AMD/ATI Radeon 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000 series
    AMD/ATI FirePro 3800, 4800, 5800, 7800, 8800, 9800, 3900, 4900, 5900, 7900
Intel Intel HD Graphics, Intel HD Graphics P3000, Intel HD Graphics P4000
Note: ATI X1000 series and nVidia 7000 series cards are no longer being tested and are not officially supported in CS6 – some basic GL functionality may be available for both these cards.
Note: 3Dand some Open GL features are disabled on Windows XP, as stated on : http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/photoshopcs6/

I've had several timeout since the pings were started. Got a some response times > 1ms (nothing greater than 7 or 8ms), but no timeouts.

  • How can I get apple to warranty my iPod touch 4th gen? It has always had issues and seems to be a lost cause. Will not connect to wi-fi. It also has cracked screen, but that is not the issue.

It has a cracked screen also but that is not the issue. I am willing to live with the screen

Unfortunately, ANY signs of 'neglect or damage' automatically become the cause of any issues you're having. As in it doesn't matter if your screen was flickering before it was dropped, when they see the dent or cracked screen, that screen flicker was caused by the drop. Because they  have no way to know if you are telling the truth (it's nothing personal, they just literally dont' know) so any signs of damage become the reason for your issue. The only way out of that is if you had taken in your iPad and, even if you didn't get it replaced, an apple employee can have documented that yes, that issue existed before the drop.
It's not fun, I know, but that's just how it is. Any signs of 'neglect or damage' and that 'neglect or damage' is the cause of your issues.

  • Ram Issues with a Hp Pavilion a6357c or maybe the amd athlon 64 5000+

I am really not sure if I am in the area-of a post like this. Please excuse my grammar and spelling"will try and use spell check"...
I got this computer from a friend of mine.Total nightmare. Was told all it needs is a hard drive and maybe a video card..Boy was that not the issue. I first got it and plugged it-make sure it would boot to bios..Nothing computer turned on-fans and all..Nothing on the screen. To make a long story short...I found an old ps2 mouse..The mouse was defective...with that mouse plugged in-computer wouldn't even boot to bios..Fixed that issue. Got into bios and all was good. Next step..Video card-Bought a new pny 9500 GT and a TTGI 550 power supply....swaped it all out and it works great...Than found a hard drive SATA 2...everthing installed and ready to place an operating system on....
Windows 7 64 bit--Installed great...But when it came up to the start up---Freeze--blue screen...Ok thought maybe it was the ram.....ended up taking all the old ram out and replace it with some DDR2 6300--or what ever the max was...total of 6 gb...still issue...freezing--decided to boot into safe mode---all good and ran great....checked Ram-stress test-checked every little hardware--stress test-no issues...Booted back up out of safe mode... Same issues....ok--lets just try Windows 7 32 bit.....
Windows 7 32 bit.....Install went great-no issues....updated and all the sp's...but underload----bluescreen....played and played with it...but the blue screen were all over the place...back into safe mode and checked all the drivers--and devices....Ok lets just go back to what the system had----windows Vista....
Again----everything boot and installed perfect...This time was a liitle more stable...updates--all the sp's all the drivers.....
Blue screen underload......Ok maybe my ram is at fault.......
It ended up stable and working perfect---single channel mode-2 gb in the first slot....I tried every way to put the ram in.....
found out--ok---only stable in single channel mode...anytime I added ram--for dual channel...Fail under load....Put the 2 gb stick or a 1 gb stick any any of the other slots-by itself---perfect stable and running great...I was even able to add another 1 gb stick with the 2 gb stick---but it had to be in single channel....tried to add more in single channel and fail....3 is it and it is not all the way stable--but stable enough to run...2 gb stick by itself---perfect.........
Did some digging---maybe it is the memory controller...But can not find any post with this issue---I keep finding people asking the quesion--and there storys match...But no answers and it seems that the just get a walk around.....
I have narrowed it down..It has to me the intergrated memory controller on the chip....so i think...I could just purchase a new one and swap it out........But here is the issue...........
Safe Mode will take all the ram-dual channel---single channel..anyway.......But so will linix-----Only has this issue with Windows....
The other werid item too---My had drive say scis drive or something along that lines--Not sata.....and again-I can not find a post to explain why......
Please understand----Stress test on Ram-cpu-motherboard--videocard----everthing--is perfect no issues...PSU is perfect---checked it out in another sytem---no issues....I am at my witts end with this thing and I have got nowhere......
It is working great with just a 2 gb stick of ram---very fast and very responsive....But adding extra ram really bothers me...Not because--it make a differance-Just because I don't know...
Can somebody out there school me.....I have tried everything........

Sorry all-But i never got a reply to this situation. But I am done. I ended up running threw tons of post and tons of threads. I can tell you that when people ask a question. There is always some smart A--, telling them something that has nothing to do with the current situation. I guess alot of people out there think they know everything- and have nothing to do-but mess with the people like me when they are stumped. Anyways...I ended up running a computer check in or after bios...I think they call it burned in-HP....what ever-the last straw when you can not figure it out..Ran it with one stick---than with all the sticks..Everytime--it claimed that there was nothing wrong..But when I tried to restart it--boom blue screen..with the mulyi sticks of ram. So when I couldn't find an solution online...I stoped using the words HP a6357c.. and just typed the issue..Funny thing the issue kept poping up--and with the same motherboard or processor...and again-nobody ever came up with a solution..Most of the post claimed the issue was the power supply....ot the ram timming..But I know better..Not to mention people kept saying-buy the tool from ebay to check wattage usuage.....Bam----wattage...Did a simple check with harware monitor...my 3.5 or 3.3 rail was running at 1.78....enought to power one stick of ram---not 2...or barley enough to power a 1 gb stick and a 2 gb stick in single channel mode...Again-people were blaming--PSU"not my case".Ram Timming.."not my case".........Then I found a person with the same make and model.....Look for fat or bad capasitors...Never thought of that.....Guess what------That is what I found....No body but a thread-one thread has explained...If you have this same issue-Look at the capasitors...Maybe this is a defective motherboard--you can not find it on the site anyway-no specs nada..like it was a mistake..So if you have one just like this- I have a feeling-you will run into this issue-in one way or another..I just don't understand why both companys have no fix--or no--recall info..No answers to problems on these....now I have a big black paper weight.....sorry for my spelling and grammer-just so mad..the net was no help on this

This is the first time in 14 years that my online account has had this issue and NO my stored card is not expired. My payment is now going to be late and i was going to get a new phone oin the Edge plan too. Am I going to get charged a late fee and does tgis affect my eligibilityafter 14 years of on time payments! And why did you wipe out my stored payment info?

    Ratwurkz,
Oh my goodness! That is not what we like to hear. Were you able to log in online not through the My Verizon App? Did it show the card available in there? Is this the same card that you have used for past payments? Let's look a little closer.

Hi, I also get the message "itunes could not restore the iphone because the password was incorrect" though I am never prompted to enter a password anywhere! Nor was the backup password encrypted to begin with! Really strange, any pointers will be greatly appriciated!
