Best way to block/deactivate movement type

hi gurus
I want to block the movement type 561 for all plants in Company.
I know we can remove the allowed transaction through tcode OMJJ but I wanted to know if there is another way to block this movement type for use.
thanks

Hello Cyrus,
The first option you already know, remove transactions from mvt type, but you never know that infuture you may require to do some transaction with 561/562 i.e. change UoM, Batch activation/deactivation etc.
The second and best option is control by authorization. This is very good option as you need not to take care any other configuration. Include this authorization prevantion in std SAP role and assign to all SAP users except the user to whom you want to give authorization for 561.
The third option is account assignment. Assign account modifier key with some odd name i.e. ZZZ and do not configure account assignment for this combination in OBYC transaction, but I will not recommand this one as some of the transaction will not require account modifier key.
So either use Authorization or remove transaction code from mvt type.
Hope this helps.

I just bought a new PC and now have ample space on my C drive to house my music Library which is currenlty installed on a external drive.  What is the best way to install and move the itunes library to my C Drive?

If the entire library is on the external drive then simply copy the iTunes folder into <User's Music> on the new computer, then install iTunes. If you've already installed iTunes you will want to remove the empty iTunes folder in <User's Music> first.
If it turns out you only have the media folder on the external drive then take a look at this post...

  • Best way to block multiple logins/same user ?

What is the best way to block/prevent someone from logging in more than once at the same time with the same userID?
I was thinking to post to a database whenever a user logs in/out but then every time a user does this there has to be a database call to see if that user is already logged in. This solution doesn't seem to efficient or maybe it is.?? Anyone with a better solution?

I'm not sure what you mean. A user will log in, the form data will be authenticated against the db data, credentials will be stored in the session if authen was a success and sent back to login page if otherwise. I am imagining that I can put a flag field in the database LOGGED_IN with Y or N. So when user successfully authenticates I can insert a Y in the user's LOGGED_IN field and when the session gets destroyed insert a N. Does this answer your question?

  • Advice on best way to structure flash movie

    Hi,
I'm a little mixed up on the best way to approach this movie I need to make. Basically it includes a loading screen, some narrative sections, and a few interspersed interactive sections (a couple of quizes and some forms to fill out).
I'm thinking because of the complexity I should seperate it into "scenes" but my understanding is scenes are bad, so I'm thinking I should be using movie clips for each major section?
I also want to have a controller for skipping forward and backwards,  so let me see if I have this correct.
Would I have one master timeline with all my actionscript and what not and my navigation controller, and would each major section of the animation be a movieclip that would be trigger by a frame in the master timeline?
I pretty much have the whole thing storyboarded out, I'm just wondering the best most efficient way to do it.
One other question: is it bad practice to have a raster visual asset with an alpha based mask on the main timeline that overlays on top of all the nested clips? For example I have a "frame" with is an png with a abstract white border with the middle masked out that remains static throughout the entire movie. Or am I better off applying it to each movieclip.
    Thanks.

It will probably be easier to manage if you make each section a moiveclip by itself,  That way you aren't always manipulating the main timeline to fit in or adjust for changes in each section.  You can either spread them out along the timeline, using frame comands to navigate to the different sections, or you can have them all in one frame and control navigation by controlling the visibility of each section.
If the frame you mention is to be applied to each section, then having one on the main timeline to cover all would be easier to manage in most cases.

  • Return item to blocked stock (Movement type 531)

    Hello. I have a question.
In my Bill of Material, I have an item with a negative quantity; this is so when I confirm a Production Order, the component, instead of being backflushed (MvT 261), instead, it is returned to stock with Movement Type 531.
My question is, how can I determine that this item is always returned to Blocked Stock instead of Unrestricted Use Stock?

If you maintain negative quantity in BOM, then system will post 531 movement type only when you confirm the production order.   If you want to post that stock to blocked stock always automatically it is not possible.  You can activate 04 inspection type.    Then stock will be posted to quality after Goods Receipt.   From quality you can change to blocked stock.   This is one way to shift to blocked stock.
If you want to post 261 movement in production order while confirmation you activate back flush option in MRP-2  view of that material master.    Then while confirmation automatically 261 movement is posted by the system.

  • What is the best way to produce different report types out of the same SSRS Report

So I have a request to produce different report types based on a "Line Of Business" Parameter that is provided. I know that SSRS sometimes struggles with gathering the Metadata based on IF Statements.
What is the best way to provide multiple different report types with different data based on the "Line Of Business" Parameter that is provided? Can I simply do this via the SQL Stored Procedure? And how so that the Metadata is collected correctly?
Just don't know what the generally accepted business principle is on this and how to go about doing it.
Thanks in advance for your review and am hopeful for a reply.

    Hi ITBobbyP,
Per my understanding that you have create an parameter (Line Of Businiess) to get diffetent types of report, I would like to confirm with you want do you mean about the different report types?
Is that mean you have table and one column named Report type, you want to filtered on this column? Or the report type you mean is like Parameterized reports,Linked reports,Snapshot reports,Subreports and so on.
If want you want is through the selection of the parameter to change the report type(Parameterized reports,Linked reports,Snapshot reports,Subreports ..),currently it is impossible to acheive this.
If you still have any problem, please try to provide more details information about your reqirements, the sampe data in the table, the report structure you have designed and so on.
Any problem, please feel free to ask.

QM Notification - Additional Functions in Action bar  - error in Insp to blocked (movement type 350)
We are trying to implement the movement of goods from inspection to

We have implemented several inventory transactions via the action  bar in Quality notifications.  All the transactions work except  this one.  We get the message "Must change Inspection Quantity  in QM system".  This is Movement type 350.  The Inspection to  Free (Movement type 321) works fine, as do Blocked to Inspection  (type 349) and Free to Inspection (320).
Has anyone encountered and resolved this?

  • Best way to watch a movie with stereo headpho

What is the best experience I can get from watching a movie using standard stereo headphones. I realize I need to test with my ears but I ask because I might need to buy cables. I have the X-fi Platinum with the console. I use a standalone dvd player to watch on my tv. The sound is currently sent to my stereo where I use headphones and was thinking of sending the sound to my X-fi and using the headphones there. Should I use a digital connection for 5. from the dvd player to the X-fi?. Will cmss utilize true 5. signals or will the signal just be wasted. Does cmss only upmix stereo signals?Basically, can I get a decent surround experience while watching a movie with a surround soundtrack on stereo headphones and what is the best way to set that up. My cheap Coby?standalone ?player decodes Dolby and DTS if that matters?Thank youTrenzMessage Edited by trenz on 0-4-20070:53 PM

    Hi
both ways would work, and I'm not sure which one to recomend.
Importing image by image wouldn't be so hard, and could give
you the advantage of being able to even ad interactivity like
moving layers or fading them and and and...
Making a flv and a slider is maybe a bit easier (btw i made a
sample some days ago I could provide you with if needs be), but not
    as flexible.
Filesize will be an issue, and I guess the flv is bettr in
that respect, but compression might damage the quality, wich might
    also be of importance.
Importing all as pngs with trancparencie might lead to other
issues, as discuessed here in a recent thread about pngs (the
number of png that can be stacked one over an other is limeted but
it seems the information about numbers is inconasistent, one of the
programmers of flashplayer talked about 24...)so there might be an
    issue there.
But I think ist's a great idea, and it is doable in either
way, maybe it's wise to make sone test with - say 10 layers and
decide then which way to go for the rest.

  • Best way to embed an Mov file into interactive flash game?

    Hey,
just a quick query. I'm creating an interactive flash game for a university project. It's along the lines of Guitar Hero, Tap Tap Revolution, Boom Boom Rocket etc..
At the moment the game comprises of streaks of notes generated by Actionscript which the user much hit the corresponding key when notes are in the receptor. The background at the moment is an audio spectrum analyser created using AS based on the music playing.
I want to add loop movie file as the very background of the stage and was just wondering what was the best way to place it there with the least ammount of overheads. At the moment I have it in a child movie clip placed on the stage, in which I use File -> Import and embeded the FLV file into the time line. This works, however lags out quite badly.
    Any help would be appriciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    John Minns

    Have you tried this method?
    1. Save as new file.
    2. With your usual color management preferences selected, run Xtras>Color>'Name all colors'.
    3. In color swatches list, select all colors. From swatches pop-up menu 'Make RGB'.
    4. In Preferences>Color, set color management settings to 'None'. The RGB colors should look about the same as they did with color management on.
Now you should be able to export to Flash with RGB colors that look quite close to your CMYK version of the file.
This should work the same in FH9 or FHMX. I hope it does the trick for you.

  • What is the best way to share HD movies?

I am thinking of moving from digital8 recording to HD (leaning toward HDD or SD instead of miniDV as the later seems to be getting obsolete). Now I can burn a DVD to give to low-tech family members. It does not sound like I will be able to burn HD DVD's, so what will be the best way to share home videos with family members?
Also for archiving purposes, is it easy to hook up a "backup hard-drive" to store family movies for posterity?
    Message was edited by: verb356

Personally, I use MobileMe and let my family watch the movies on line. It is easy to share this way. I share the movie in Large (960x540) or Medium to iTunes. Then I share to Mobile Me.
For personal viewing, I use the Apple TV.
You can also burn a data DVD of your finished movie, and let them copy the file to iTunes from their data DVD.
You can upload the movie to other video sharing services such as YouTube or Vimeo.
You can burn a blu-ray disk if you have Toast and a BluRay burner. You can burn a short movie to regular DVD media using Toast and a regular DVD burner that is playable on most BluRay Players.

  • Best way to archive HD movie (Raw, events, projects, etc.)

    Hi everybody,
I've been using iMovie for the last 12 months, to make small family movies (shared on internet and via DVDs).
I am having more and more footage and the question comes about the archiving of all this.
What's the best way to keep all important files ? (keeping the quality, and saving space if possible)
    How do you proceed ?
I have the different ideas, found on internet, but not sure what is the best.
I can directly make disk image from the camera memory cards. If at later stage I need to import again, I can do it from that mounted image. And this is keeping the original quality. (I think.. right?)
After finishing a project, do you still keep the imported files ? (the events, I think it's called).
And, do you also keep the final version of the project, accessible in iMovie ?
I usually send the movie on internet, and burn on DVDs. Is there a need to keep this project, in my archives ?
I am very curious to learn how the advanced users, with tones of footage, are doing to archive their precious movies.
Thanks a lot for your help and information.
    Thierry.

    Hi Thierry,
I am using AVCHD, on MSDuo. Until now, I was doing disk image, from the Apple disk utility. I saw the back up feature in iMovie, but never tried it.
Is it doing the same ? You prefer to use the integrated back up from iMovie ?
Yes, the built-in archive feature in iMovie works much the same as the disk image method you have been using. iMovie can't use the .MTS files on their own, so the archive replicates the camera contents, including the full directory structure. Full quality is preserved, just as recorded by the camera. The only downside is that each time an archive is performed, iMovie archives the full camera contents, irrespective of the fact that some content may have been archived previously. In other words, you can't selectively archive individual clips - it's all or nothing. So, if you do an archive then record further footage without deleting the previous content from the camera (or card), the full content (including the earlier clips) is archived when next performed.
To get around this limitation, I use RevolverHD from Shedworx - found here: http://www.shedworx.com/revolverhdmac (this allows selective archiving from the camera, but there are issues with retaining the timecode when importing from the archive to an Event).
John, you are using external drive for the Events and Projects, meaning that you are working directly from external drive? (or you were refering to the storage, after you are done on the mac?)
I'm working directly from the external FireWire 800 drive for the Events. My Projects are all on the MacBook Pro's internal drive. My understanding is that iMovie works more efficiently with this set-up. My archives are also on the same external drive as the Events - this is probably not a good idea, but I do back-up the drive frequently, and also copy the archives to a portable drive as added security.
Note that my exported Projects are stored by default in the Projects package contents folder on the internal drive (I use Share>Media Browser). But I also copy these exports to a separate portable drive which I connect to a Western Digital Media Player for playing through my widescreen LCD TV. I also produce DVDs from the exported files (but only as required).
And what about the final versions of your movies ? (the one in the media browser, or on the DVD that you burnt) Are you also archiving the final products ? (it's not too heavy to keep all ?)
As I mentioned above, by default iMovie places the shared movies (via Share>Media Browser) in the Project folder (on my internal drive). To access the shared movie, go to your User/Movies/iMovie Projects folder and right-click (or Control-click) on the Project name. From the pop-up menu select "Show Package Contents". Click on the Movies folder and you will see the shared movie, labelled (for example) as 720p.mov or medium.m4v and so forth. The main reason for copying this shared move to a portable drive is to view it through my Media Player. I just unplug the drive from my Mac and plug into the Media Player. I don't need it as a back-up as I'm running Time Machine - this backs up my internal drive, so all my original Projects and exports are covered by Time Machine.
Hope all this makes sense Thierry. I'm probably keeping too much, but have plenty of storage capacity so prefer not to get rid of anything at present. Things may change as storage runs down, of course! I may need to do some housekeeping then.

  • Best Way to Make A Movie From Many DVDs?

I'd like to make a montage of select scenes from 20+ DVDs of raw footage using Premiere Elements 7.  I can't import all of these DVDs into the space I've got available on my hard drives.  I'd appreciate any recommendations for the best way to extract select scenes from these DVDs into smaller media files that I can then import into a project for final assembly.
I can imagine an approach of putting a single scene into a sceneline and rendering it into an importable file type, but I'm not certain which type to use that won't reduce image quality along the way.
Of maybe there's some whole other approach I'm missing, ie using Archive.
    Thanks!
    JGW

    JGW,
Thanks for the clarification and the details. A couple of thoughts:
1.) some of the hardware writers, similar to your deck, do not do the best job at writing to DVD-Video. Many have a rudimentary Menuing function built in. Since a .VOB can contain a lot of "stuff," besides just a multiplexed MPEG-2 stream, the way that they handle the construction can create problems, even for programs, like PE, that can Import and use a DVD-spec. .VOB. It is truely a "sometimes they work, but sometimes they do not." I do not know about the Toshiba. I do not even know about my Panasonic deck, as I have never had to try and work from one of its DVD's. They have always been an archival copy of a client's VHS, or similar. Both might do fine, but both might create poorly formed .VOB's. We'd both have to test this.
2.) while DV-AVI Type II does introduce a bit of compression (someday compare it's file sizes to a DV Uncompressed), it is visually slight. In the case of the MPEG-2's, that was where the quality took the hit. Going directly to DV-AVI will probably not be discernable from the MPEG-2 source files. Now, if you're going back to a finished DVD, remember that you'll be doing another MPEG-2 compression from PE (or most NLE's).
3.) one consideration for quality (at the expense of much more time) would be to do a recapture of your 8mm tapes. If one did this, it would require the camera, or a deck for those tapes. If the camera was a digital, even if the tapes were analog, and it connected via FireWire, PE might be able to do a perfect Capture. Again, one may, or may not loose "device control." If the camera was analog, then something like the ADS Pyro could do the work. Have to say that I doubt, but do not know, that one would have device control, but that's not a really big deal.
4.) there are other ways to rip a DVD. Here's a LINK to a workflow. It's certainly not the only way to do it, and this one is written around Adobe Encore, but should translate almost perfectly to PE, or PrPro.
There are also editing programs that use an MPEG-2 workflow and offer "smart rendering," which means that only footage, that has been altered, will be re-Transcoded to MPEG-2. Unfortunately, I use an exclusive DV-AVI Type II workflow and do not have a clue where to tell you to look for one of these programs. I'd guess that there are some freeware ones, and probably some inexpensive ones. I'm just not the guy to tell you anything about any of these.
As for external storage, the prices are getting amazingly low. On Friday, Fry's (Western states US) had a 1TB unit for US$89. I am ashamed to tell you what I paid for my first 1TB external. Even worse, you should see what I paid for my first 2TB RAID 5 NAS! FWIW, I have been a big fan of and have bought many of the Maxtor 1.5 and 2TB units. So far, not problems.
Steve, or Paul_LS might have some MPEG-2 to MPEG-2 editors for you.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • What is the best way to export a movie to avoid losing quality?

I need to get a movie I made on a DVD somehow, but I seem to loose quality in color and overall sharpness when I take it into iDVD and burn a disc. This movie will be projected very large, so I need the best quality possible. What is the best way to export it for the highest quality?

There's been a ton of testing reported here on this issue, but I don't think there is a consensus on the "best" method. For one thing, it depends on what you're starting with.
In my experience with DV video and hi-res photos, it was tough to beat the result I got exporting "large" to the media browser. (Because of my DV footage, HD was not an option.) This made a H.264 file. I could only get a slight improvement by exporting via Quicktime to a H.264 file at double the resolution of the "large" file made by iMovie. Of course this took longer to export and for iDVD to encode. Overall, I'd say it wasn't worth it for the barely visible improvement. That improvement was only detectable in the slides, BTW, not in the DV video.
Many recommend exporting to AIC, which should be an essentially lossless export out of iMovie. This is what the share to iDVD supposedly does, I got poor results with any flow that used an AIC file exported out of iMovie for use by iDVD. Never figured out why, but my results were always better if I compressed to H.264 on the way out of iMovie.
