Best way to draw an asset if I want to change the colour of it?

If I draw something manually, can I still change the colour by actionscript?
I want to draw a cat, and the cat colour depends on the the user choice in the previous 'screen'. How should I go about this?

Yes, there are a couple ways. You can use the ColorTransform class. Or you can use one of the Tweening engines - it's really easy to tint objects using TweenLite. You can even test in the demo at http://blog.greensock.com/tweenlite/
Scroll down a bit to the demo... pick a color in the tint box and hit Tween.

When you start you are offered templates under 2 categories "Word Processing" and "Layout", choose wisely.
For header and footers yes, you will have to:
+Menu > Insert > Section break+ at the bottom of the last page of the section you wish to preserve.
Then you can change the next section and the 2 will stay different.
Please read the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf, you need to know a lot more than this if your novel is ever to hit the streets.

best way to approach this? for example, there are all kinds of
grayscaled glassy styles in the assets panel. if i take a plain
rectangle and want to apply the glassy asset style, but in a

Make your changes to the Style (Edit current ones/ or Add New
ones via the PI Filters).
When complete with changes, go back down to the PI, click the
+, the n 'Options' from the list, then Save As Style.
Give your Style a new name, then OK.

What is the best way to share a iTunes library between 5 users on the same computer?
Currently I have a common itunes library in a shared folder that each user is linked to. The problem is that when one user adds music to the shared file, it does not automaticaly appear to other users when they open their iTunes. They have to go to the shared library and select the new music in order to make it visable in their iTunes.
Would iTunes file shareing fix this problem?

Sharepoints manages the samba configuration file. It's free software that puts a pretty face on an otherwise cumbersome config file.

As I stated. You will not get prompted on windows, if you have set up sharing in an insecure fashion. You are not using a secured sharing situation.

Hi Donavan,
There are two options for zeroing with the NI-9237. You can perform offset nulling and shunt calibration with a strain task, or if you use custom excitation you can use software compensation.
See the Bridge Balancing, Offset Nulling section in the Load, Force, and Torque Measurements tutorial. Take a measurement before the strain is applied and subtract this from all subsequent measurements. See the above tutorial to consider the tradeoff in accuracy between these two options.

Assets panel > styles, can i change the color of a style
to be an exact color? for example, if i want to create a navbar
with the black and gray glass affect style, but i want to change
the color but keep the same style of shading. each style in the
assets panel has a default color, but i want to change the color
and keep the style. i did change the color a little bit by
adjusting the hue and saturation, but i can't seem to get an exact
match of the color i am trying to duplicate. any help is greatly

When a style is applied to any object, the Properties panel
at the bottom will reflect the attributes which are editable in
that applied style. The properties which can be edited are fill and
stroke colors also apart from adjusting the Hue and Saturation.
Gradient colors can be modified by changing the fill color.
The nodes in the gradient will change the color from blue to black
or any other intended color of change. If you know the color you
can either enter it as a 6 digit value or you can pick a color from
an existing object.

Presently Safari will do nothing when I pull down the file menu, select "open", and then select an AVI file from a disk folder. I have Opera, Firefox and IE launching VLC,,,, but not Safari.

Best Way to Draw A Simple Isoceles Triangle, and Fill it.

What I assume is a relativly simple problem, ive got the coordinates of the bottom two points of an isoceles triangle, and the height, and need to draw it in Java2D. It's base will always be parrellel to the bottom of the screen.
I also need to be able to fill or not fill it very simple, what would be the best way to do this?

Create your triangle as an instance of [java.awt.Polygon|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/awt/Polygon.html] and call [java.awt.Graphics2D.fill(Shape s)|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/awt/Graphics2D.html#fill(java.awt.Shape)] to paint the triangle to a BufferedImage or in a paintComponent override.
Read the other methods of Graphics2D for the rest of your answer.

Best way to draw thousands of graphic objects on the screen

Hello everybody, I'm wanting to develop a game where at times thousands of graphic objects are displayed on-screen. What better way to do this in terms of performance and speed?
I have some options below. Do not know if the best way is included in these options.
1 - Each graphical object is displayed on a MovieClip or Sprite.
2 - There is a Bitmap that represents the game screen. All graphical objects that are displayed on screen have your images stored in BitmapData. Then the Bitmap that represents the game screen copies for themselves the BitmapData of graphical objects to be screened, using for this bitmapData.copyPixels (...) or BitmapData.draw (...). The Bitmap that represents the screen is added to the stage via addChild (...).
3 - The graphical objects that are displayed on screen will have their images drawn directly on stage or in a MovieClip/Sprite added to this stage by addChild (...). These objects are drawn using the methods of the Graphics class, as beginBitmapFill and beginFill.
Recalling that the best way probably is not one of these 3 above.
I really need this information to proceed with the creation of my game.
Please do not be bothered with my English because I'm using Google translator.

Yes, my game will have many objects similar in appearance.
Some other objects will use the same image stored, just in time to render these objects is that some effects (such as changing the colors) will be applied in different ways. But the picture for them all is the same.
Using the second option, ie, BitmapDatas, which of these two methods would be more efficient? copyPixels or draw?

What's the best way to output a high quality ready to send to the printer PDF?

I'm designing a photo book for a friend and we're having output issues. We're working with a professional printer but for some reason our prints keep coming out soft or pixelated. The images are 300 dpi and formatted correctly for an InDesign document so the issue is likely output.
What's the best way to output the HIGHEST quality PDF you can out of InDesign? Everyone seems to have different answers.

Check a couple things.
One would be for broken links. If there are broken links then ID will use the preview image instead of the linked image.
Another would be to select an image that prints poorly in the Links Panel and check the effective resolution. If it is below your stated 300 dpi then the image has been enlarged greater than 100%.
Then just use the PDF/X-4 profile for your PDF.
