BEx query data

Hi friends,
I have a query which gives me the data as of yesterday.I want to run this query daily to give me the status as of yesterday. Now my problem is, can i  populate the query with data everyday without hitting the database? If so what is the option to be used.kindly help me.
Thanks in advance
Kiran

Hi,
I didn't understand.
Do you want to populate the query without hitting database at all?
Or you want to keep the result of the previous population?
When you create and save a workbook as I described you'll have all data in the wb. When you'll open this wb again, it will keep the data from the prev execution (without hitting DB). Only after you manually refresh the wb, the query will extract data from DB.
Moreover, you can detach the wb from a DB and keep your wb with the data.
Best regards,
Eugene

  • Analysis Office vs Webi report ---Bex query Data mismatch

    I have one Bex query.
I insterted the query in Analysis office for Microsoft edition, and its pulling 985 records, but when i inserted the bex query in Webi report its pulling only 27 records. Any body faced similar problem, explain the solution..?
Using BICS connction for webi report development.
    Environment: BI 4.1 SP5
    Anlaysis office version :  1.4 SP10

    Hi Ingo,
If we make it database delegated then the Webi query returns no results. (Blank results). Moreover there is no exception aggregation
We have tried the following and getting the result correctly,
In the Bex Query We had a Time variable which was based on SAP exit. We removed the SAP exit variable from Bex Query and restricted the period for atime range.
Then created a Prompt in Webi report for the time
    The result is matching.
But still failed to undrstand this because other queries which have SAP exit variables works fine.
Still working around for a convincing solution for this.. Will let you know
    Thanks and Regards

  • Date Filter in BEx Query not applied to Webi Document

    Hi
I have a simple BEx Query on 0MATERIAL - with Article (0MATERIAL) and Created On Date (0CREATEDON) characteristics in the Rows and 1ROWCOUNT key figure in the columns.
If I restrict the BEx Query on 0MATERIAL to a single value, only that particular record is returned when I run the query in WebI - which shows Article and Created On Date.
However, if I restrict the BEx Query to a specific 0CREATEDON date, the WebI report ignores this restriction and returns ALL records in the InfoProvider 0MATERIAL.
If I run the BEx Query in the web, only those records with the particular restricted date are returned, so why does the WebI report ignore the BEx Query date restriction?  Any ideas where I am going wrong?
    Thanks
    Anton

    Hi Victor
Thanks for the reply.  It turns out even after refreshing the universe structure and exporting I had to shut down Webi and reopen it for the changes (date restriction) to take effect.
But thanks for the headsup on that bug/SAP note anyway - it is helpful to know.

  • BEx Query Columns come back in different Order after drill?

I have a strange effect when I work with BEx Queries in Xcelsius.
On default, I open and display the Bex Query "A". Columns are in order like defined in BEx Designer (Column1, Column2, Column3.....)
I want to do a drill, and so in Xcelsius BEx Connection settings I set the Filter on Field "X" in the XLS and in "Query Usage" I addionally apply the setting "Refresh when Trigger Cell "X" changes".
Starting the report works fine. But when I do the drill and the Query refreshes, the BEx Query Columns come back in different order?!?
It looks as if Column 2 and Column 3 are exchanged.
    How can I fix that?
    Thx,
    B. Wegner

    After some testing....
This issue is independent from the filter value. But it only seems to occure when a second BEx Query connection is defined.
The BEx Query Data Columns come back in different order after
    - Refresh on Trigger
    - Refresh after XY Seconds
    Any Ideas?

  • Bex query in Xcelsius

    Dear Xcelsius Experts,
Im having a trouble about displaying bex query data on xcelsius.
After adding a new connection i browsed my query then selected insert in area on excel.
I can see my kef figures on preview tab.On the usage tab refresh on load and use query data options are already checked.
Im also sure about my selectors (list box, combobox etc) data insertation done correctly.
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks
    Nil
    p.s:im using Xcelcius sp2

    Dear Nil,
If you pull the data from SAP BW using "SAP Netweaver BI connection",the whole set of data from SAP BW Query will be available through Cross Tab Data under "Output values" of "Definition" tab.So just Put one Spread sheet table or List View
item in the Workspace and simply map the Cross tab data into some Excel cells range and then map the same range of Excel cells into the Design component(Spread sheet table or List View). This will show the complete data (chars and KFs) which comes from SAP BW Query into the design component at runtime.
    Hope this helps you!

  • Aggregation in BEx query

    Hi Gurus,
I am stuck in a peculiar problem. I would try to explain with the scenario. The below is how I get the data from our cube to my Bex query
Date                PO Number    PO Line Item    PO Count     PO Line Item Count
    01.01.2011     X1                  10                    1                  1
    02.01.2011     X1                  10                    1                  1                                       (Line item was changed on this date)
    01.01.2011     X1                  20                    1                  1
    01.01.2011     X1                  30                    1                  1
    01.01.2011     X1                  40                    1                  1
    Result                                                           5                   5
Whereas, what is expected is as follows
Date                PO Number    PO Line Item    PO Count     PO Line Item Count
    01.01.2011     X1                  10                    1                  1
    02.01.2011     X1                  10                    1                  1
    01.01.2011     X1                  20                    1                  1
    01.01.2011     X1                  30                    1                  1
    01.01.2011     X1                  40                    1                  1
Result                                                           1                   4 (because total PO is only 1 whereas line items are only 4)
I am not able to achieve this. Can you please help.

    Hi Rahul,
You can get the unique count with reference to particular characteristic by creating CKF, but I think if you put the reference characteristic in drill down it might not work.
    Check the following document,

  • BOBJ reporting on spread sheet and BeX Query

    Hi,
We have a BOBJ 4.0 report currently reporting on the SAP data (Developed on BeX query). The historical data (3 years old- 13 MB) for this report is provided in Excel.  Is it possible to have one report that reports both the excel data and the BeX query data.?
    Thanks.

    Hi Vinothini,
With BOBJ 4.0 this is very much possible to create webi reports on mulitple data sources.
Use Webi Rich Client to create report on Excel ,
Create a BICS (BEx connection) to your BEx query for report on your BEx Data.
Use both the Data sources as two queries in your Webi. You can merge them accordingly.
    Regards,
    Javed

  • SAP to enhance BICS? Will BEx qry data be available before runtime?

We are prototyping using BICS to connect BEx query with Xcelsius.
Does anyone know if SAP has any plans to allow for BEx query data to be shown in Xcelsius during the modeling stage?
As of now it seems the only option is to publish >> Launch.  Then you can see how the dashboard design reacts to the data returned by the query.  This is proving very tedious and feels like we are designing in the dark.
Surely there is a better way, and if not, is one in the works?
This is impacting our approach and we might opt to build dashboard in crystal or using QaaWs - although BICS is preference.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Check "Design Time" section in http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/FAQaboutXcelsiusandSAPNetWeaverBI+Connection
And then you can post a comment on this Wiki for SAP Xcelsius Product Group / RIG member to comment on it.
Furthermore, you can place this as an product enhancement request at https://ideas.sap.com
More the votes an idea gets, better chances it will be included in the product.
    Hope this helps a little.

  • Status of data in Bex query shows wrong date

    Dear Experts,
The Bex qurey after sucessful execution, show the Status of data as old date i.e. feb 2012. but we observed that the data uplaod happens regularly and sucessful.
we tried executing the same query using RSRT/Bex Analyzer/Portal. the results are same i.e. showing incorrect status of data.
Note: The Bex query is built on BI Infoset which sources from DSOs and Master Data infoobjects, and  BI version is 7.0.
Kindly please help for resolving the issue.
    Best Regards,
    Mannu.

    Hi Vijay,
The data upload has happend today also and it is sucessful, the reporing status is available for requests from respective infoproviders.
'Status of data' is not a filed. if it an information to tell the status of data in query result.
Please find the following steps to find the 'status of data'
go to RSRT->give the query name and execute-> now after query results-> go to last page-> you can find the 'status of data'.
    Best Regards,
    Mannu

  • Error while trying to retrieve data from BW BEx query

The following error is coming while trying to retrieve data from BW BEx query (on ODS) when the Characters are more than 50.
In BEx report there is a limitation but is it also a limitation in Webi report.
Is there any other solution for this scenario where it is possible to retrieve more than 50 Characters?
A database error occured. The database error text is: The MDX query SELECT  { [Measures].[3OD1RJNV2ZXI7XOC4CY9VXLZI], [Measures].[3P71KBWTVNGY9JTZP9FTP6RZ4], [Measures].[3OEAEUW2WTYJRE2TOD6IOFJF4] }  ON COLUMNS , NON EMPTY CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( [ZHOST_ID2].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS, [ZHOST_ID3].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ), [ZHOST_ID1].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ), [ZREVENDDT__0CALDAY].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ) ........................................................ failed to execute with the error Invalid MDX command with UNSUPPORTED: > 50 CHARACT.. (WIS 10901)

    Hi,
That warning / error message will be coming from the MDX interface on the BW server.  It does not originate from BOBJ.
This question would be better asked to support component BW-BEX-OT-MDX
Similar discussion can be found using search: Limitation of Number of Objects used in Webi with SAP BW Universe as Source

  • BEX Query Views - Reqd in PRD but need to create in Dev - Data Issues

    Hello Bw Gurus
    BI 7.0 ECC 4.7
We have a BEx Query in BI production which uses a work centre hierarchy. The user wants to create query views on this query to use in BI production.
Our normal transport procedure of a new development object would be BI DEV - QA - PRD
However the DEV environment does not have all the work centres and the data of PRD. So if the query view needs to be created in DEV then we could not set up the view correctly as there is not the workcenters or the data in DEV.
    Hopefully that makes sense?
Apart from allowing Query Views to be created in BI PRD directly is there any solution?
    Best,
    Steve Jones

If you need exact char values for workcenter to create your views you can quickly create the master data (just the values you want) in Dev and use them to create the views...

  • No data in Crystal report created on SAP BW BEx Query

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to create a Crystal report on top of a BW query. I am able to login to the BW system and open the BEx query and the objects are coming into the crystal report.
But when I drag and drop some objects into the details area and try to preview sample - it does not show any data (it shows accessing database but doesnt bring any data)
I copied the generated SQL query in to the section in the BW system in transaction code 'MDXTEST' and it runs correctly and shows me the result below there.
Just to try - I unchecked 'Use MDX..' check box by following the path SAP->Settings to check if that could bring back data ... and YES that worked which means data is not coming from the BW query with MDX connection but when MDX seems to be fine and retrieve result when I run the sql statement in tcode MDXTEST.
Also when I do preview samples - I can see in SM50 in BW system that it is trying to run the report just that I am not able to see any data in my crystal report.
Any help in this regards would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sunny

    Hello
The order of display of attributes in Webi and Crystal report would be different.
Collapse the infoobject and skim through the attributes, you should be able to find them.
