BEx Variable default value does not pass thru to Webi report
Hi,
It appears that the integration between BEx and BOBJ Webi does not support default values when the webi report is scheduled. This means that if Webi/Infoview is the delivery method, than clients require 2 reports. 1 for adhoc and 1 for scheduling. Is there another way around this so 2 reports are not required? See SAP Knowledge Base Article https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/sno/ui_entry/entry.htm?param=69765F6D6F64653D3030312669765F7361706E6F7465735F6E756D6265723D3030303136363534393826

Dae Jin
Hi,
Yes it is not supported. you can achieve by writing customer exit for this.
in istep 2,
check whether the variable value is intial.
if intial
pass default value
if not intial (else)
dont do any change, just pass the user input to restriction.

How come the item value does not come thru via PL/SQL anonymous block?
Hi,
It's a Form with 3 tables -
1) ClinicianProfileTb (with about 40 columns, insert/update via DML),
2) PeopleTb (with about 7 columns, insert/update via PL/SQL anonymous block) and
3) ClinicianPracticeTb (with about 10 columns, insert/update via PL/SQL anonymous block) for after-submit-processes.
So I have several After-Submit-Processes. For some reason, it appears that PeopleId which is supposed to come thru via the 2nd After-Submit-Process (ie: Insert/Update PeopleTb) does not do the way it's supposed to. And when I press "Create" button at the bottom, I got the following error msg:
ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("TEST_0712"."CLINICIANPRACTICETB"."PEOPLEID")
I tried the "debug" mode (via edit page link), but to no avail. (I'm newbie, trying to learn and deliver at the same time :)).
I uploaded the app to apex.oracle.com, if someone could kindly take a look and let me know what goes wrong, it'd be greatly appreciated.
workspace: test_0712
app: 43408 - TEST
user: demo
pswd: demoPswd
Page#21 -> look at the After-Submit-Processes -> in "Insert/Update PeopleTb" it appears that PeopeId does not come thru; thus it cannot be updated to ClinicianProfileTb.PeopleId (allows null) -> and thus cannot be inserted into ClincianPracticeTb.PeopleId (which does NOT allow null). Basically my logic is that in order to create ANY row in ClinicianPracticeTb, BOTH PracticeId AND PeopleId must be present.
Acutally I should have used the PeopeTb as DML (as the driving table) to enforce that PeopleId must be present in order to insert ClinicianProfileTb and ClinicianPracticeTb, but it'd be lots of codes to write to insert/update in ClinicianProfileTb (40 columns).
In addition, does ApEx consider EVERY SINGLE after-submit-process are in ONE transaction for commit/rollback? It appears that it treats all PL/SQL anonymous blocks are in ONE transaction, while Automatic Row Processing (DML) is commited/rolled back on its own?
Thanks much,
HelenAll blocks that do not commit in one of the ways I detailed (and which do not explicitly commit using a commit statement) are part of the transaction started with > the first DML statement issued in any of the page processes and continuing until a commit is issued.Say, there are the following processes in the After-Submit-Processes:
1. Process1 -> Automatic Row Processing (DML)
2. Process2 -> PL/SQL anonymous block
3. Process3 -> PL/SQL anonymous block
Based on what you describe, in the event that if there is no explicit "commit" issued in any of these processes, then an implicit "commit" will be issued at the end of Process3?
Thanks, Scott.

PROMPT WITH DEFAULT VALUES DOES NOT DISPLAY VALUES THE FIRST TIME
Hi,
With one of our scorecard reports, when you select a division, the leader role/leader prompt picklist values do not get populated the first time. Because this is only happening in reports we have written in house, we do not see this happening to the reports that are installed as default.
Is there any workaround known for this error.
Thanks and RegardsHey can somebody please let me know how to go about this isssue ..
Thanks -
Bex Query timestamp InfoObjects does not display time in Webi
A BW InfoObject, defined as NUMC14 (TIMES), will display data like "09/13/2011 13:40:26" in a Bex Analyzer query.
How do you get this type of display in Webi? Currently, my webi report (based on the Bex query connection) displays the field like "09/13/2011 13"Hello,
any ideas? Any additional information needed?

Enterprise Project Fields Default values do not Register on PDP Pages for mandatory fields
Is it normal for "mandatory" eneterprise project field to come up as blank in a PDP page, when I have defined it to default value to a specific value in a list?
I've inserted such fields using the project field web part within the PWA Category. They display with the red astericks at the end of their name, but the field is blank. The default value does not appear in the field. However, if I select
the button next to their name and display the the list, the default value is shown in bold as if it is the one selected. I
I am not using any workflows in the EPT that is responsible for displaying such pages. Aslo, this is not a problem when the fields are not set to mandatory; they display the default value.
the problem with this is that you have to manually select the default (or some value form the list) in order to check in the project.
Would you agree that this is a bug in 2010?

User exit variable I_STEP=1 does not show default value WebI selection scr
Hello,
We have a BW query with a user exit variable. We have written user exit code under I_STEP = 1 so that the default value for the field is displayed on the selection screen to the user. Works very well on the BW side.
We based a universe on top of the query and then created a WebI report.
When the WebI report is executed the default value is NOT seen on the selection screen,
Note:
1. If the user exit variable is optional and we execute the report, the default value is NOT seen on the selection screen. However if the report is executed without entering any value for the field the logic under I_STEP = 1 is picked up and the report gets the correct output
1. If the user exit variable is mandatoryand we execute the report, the default value is NOT seen on the selection screen. The user now has to enter the value for the field.
The scheduled reports will work in case of optional user exit variable.
However this amounts to loss of functionality.
Is this a known bug?
Is there a way to display default values based on user exit variables on the WebI selection screen?
Kindly advice. Btw we are on XI 3.1 SP3

i have to pass a column from master list -single line of text - and this will be the lookup of another column in another list
splist1---> column1 [ free text]
splist2--> column2 [ lookup column of the above list -splist1]
now am writing a caml query :
objDisciNodeQuery.Query =
string.Format(

splistItemAssocCollec = splist2.GetItems(objDisciNodeQuery);
here it throws Value does not fall within the expected range
Anyone has idea why i am getting this error, .
any ideas are appreciated.We can use lookup column in caml query link this

1424 does not pass diagnostics after running program
Hello, we are using the PCI-1424 card with a Dalsa linescan camera, and are having trouble trying to do ring acquisitions with different buffer sizes. The camera either times out or always returns the number of lines that it is first set to, ie; if the original number of lines is 100, and the number of lines is then set to 1000 (and confirmed using imgGetAttribute(DisplaySid, IMG_ATTR_ACQWINDOW_HEIGHT, &nBufSize).
I've noticed that the 1424 board does not pass 2 of the diagnostic tests in MAX. The details it returns are:
Advanced Control Circuitry failed
Configuration could not be written to when Confwren bit was set. [F1.5]
Timing Circuitry failed
Counter configuration could not be loaded. [T1.0
Is this a programming error on my part? I am closing the session and the interface, which in my opinion should be all that is needed to reset the board to the default settings. This does not work, even the snap acquisition in MAX fails.I'm not surprised at the behavior that you are seeing. When the acquisition is started the board is programmed with the acquisition size and when you change that it has to reprogram the board while it is acquiring, so either it will timeout or it just won't do it and you will only see the first size. I'm not sure why the diagnostics are failing but it sounds like you can reboot and that resolves the issue. I would recommend looking into a couple of alternatives. Variable Height Acquistion uses a hardware signal to indicate how many lines should be in an image. If you didn't have a signal you could generate one with a DAQ card or you could programmatically assert
and deassert one of the trigger lines on the 1424 but that would not be the most accurate depending on your line rate. The other alternative would be to set the image size to the largest size and then just crop the images.

8 * 128 = 1024
128 >= 2
At least twice the size does not mean exactly the doubled size.
There is no contradiction between the documentation and your observation in this case.

VMM 2012R2 UR4 - Version 3.2.7768.0
Not sure when this started happening since I haven't had to update or create a new RunAs account in VMM in some time, but every time I do, either through the console or through PowerShell it throws an error about The specified directory service attribute

I am hoping someone has some ideas because I don't have any more at this point.

How to set variable default value by program?
Dear all,
We would like to set a BW variable default value by program (not using query designer).
Do you have any ABAP sample code for this? I'm really new in ABAP programming.
we are using BI 7.0
Thank you for your help!
Olivier DESFOURHi Olivier,
FOllowing is the code which defaults calmonth to first month of the year to current month - 1.
Data : input1(4) TYPE n,
input3(2) TYPE n.
WHEN 'YQV_FD'.
if i_step = 1.
input1 = sy-datum+0(4).
concatenate input1 '01' into l_s_range-low.
input3 = sy-datum+4(2) - 1.
concatenate input1 input3 into l_s_range-high.
l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
l_s_range-opt = 'BT'.
APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
endif. -
Cisco 881 ISR IPSec VPN Tunnel does not pass traffic from the vlan.
I have a cisco 881 ISR Router with a site-to-site IPsec vpn tunnel to a mikrotik device on the other end (I inherited this from my client). The tunnel is constructed properly and is up, however traffic does not pass or get routed to the FA4 interface. I see in my packet captures that it hits the vlan1 interface (vlans are required on the L2 ports) and does not pass to the tunnel.
This is my configuration:

endWhy do you have following command on the PIX?
crypto map outside_map 40 set transform-set 165.228.x.x
Also you have this transform set on the PIX:
crypto ipsec transform-set 10.112.60.0 esp-aes-256 esp-sha-hmac
This does not match the transfor set on the router:
crypto ipsec transform-set tritest esp-3des esp-md5-hmac
Where are you using the access-list/route-map

Selecting an lov parameter value sometimes not passed correctly
When selecting a value from an LOV parameter, sometimes the parameter value doesn't seem to get passed correctly to the data template query.
For example, let's say I have the following LOV parameter called "risk":
Some Risk
New Risk
Other Risk
Last Risk
When I select "Some Risk", I would get correct results and when viewing the "Data" xml, I can see the parameter with the right value:
<RISK>Some Risk</RISK>
But when I select "New Risk" the results are incorrect and the xml shows:
<RISK />
as if the value was not passed as the bind parameter value for the dataset query.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Is this a BIP bug or is there a workaround?Hi, thanks for the reply.
The LOV is of "SQL Query" type (not fixed data) and the values were retrieved from the database.
Supposing this was the sql query for my "risk" parameter LOV:
select dimvaltl.GENERIC_VAL_NAME
from GENERIC_VAL_TL dimvaltl,
GENERIC_TL dimtl
where dimtl.GENERIC_NAME = 'Risk'
and dimvaltl.GENERIC_ID = dimtl.GENERIC_ID
order by dimvaltl.GENERIC_VAL_NAME
And supposing this was the sql query in the data template dataset:
select pdimv.ID
from GENERIC_V pdimv
where pdimv.NAME = 'Risk'
and pdimv.VALUE in (:risk)))
If risk is empty, obviously the query would not work. I noticed the xml generated sometimes show the selected parameter value and sometimes don't, as if BIP is not passing it to the dataset query as bind parameter value.
Incidentally I have other lov parameters that works fine, the only difference I can think of is that for this LOV query I am doing a join instead of a simple select statement from one table. -
FRM-40815: Variable "Global.OLD_ITEM_CATEGORY" does not exist.
Hi,
I am using Dev suite 10g and R12 Apps.
Standard Form: POXRQERQ -Enter Requisitions GUI
While we done some personalization on that, getting error -> FRM-40815: Variable "Global.OLD_ITEM_CATEGORY" does not exist. while entering some specific item's not for all items.
if i disable the forms perso, the message isn't come.
I checked all over the personalization, but there is no scope of using OLD_ITEM_CATEGORY anywhere in form personalization.
Can you please help me on this.
Regards,
Sam
Edited by: 951991 on Nov 20, 2012 5:37 AMGlobal.OLD_ITEM_CATEGORY" does not exist
The error is coming as you are using :Global.OLD_ITEM_CATEGORY inaccessing the values while the item is not initialized earlier
you just add
:Global.OLD_ITEM_CATEGORY:=null;
at the when-new-form-instance.
then err will not come -

K. Senthil KumarHi anandkumar,
I belive this issue can be resolved by changing the Query proprties for the perticular field.
Kindly check the Field proerties in query designer and ensure that Text is enabled ather than Key.
__Field property check up:__Go to query designer->click onn the field-> Right hand side in properties click on display tab-> select Text in drop down menu of Display as tab.
FURTHER CHECK UP: check the master data avaiulability for the perticular info object, if masterdata is not available, do the text data for txt data availability in report level.
Hope this helps you!!
Best Regards,
Maruthi
