Bex Web - Export to Excel / Export to PDF

Hi gurus,
Using BI-IP.
In a web-template, I use the function "Export to Excel 2000" (or "Printable version", which generates a PDF file). The function works, except that at detailed level there is no data for input-ready columns.
Is it a known bug ?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT : it works fine for a user of mine

  • How to remove the tabs Export to Excel, Export as CSV in z0ADHOC web templa

    We have made a copy of 0ADHOC - standard web template  as Z0ADHOC.
    Now we would want to remove the tabs  Export to Excel, Export as CSV from thcopied Z0ADHOC.
    Can any one help out.
    Regards

    Devaraj,
    If you look at the Z0ADHOC through the WAD closely in the overview tab, you will find a web item called GR1Toolbar. This is in turn linked to another web template called 0ADHOC_TABLE. Click on GR1Toolbar and view its properties to see this detail. Now if you open the web template 0ADHOC_TABLE in the WAD, you will see soms text elements. The last two:[SAP_BW_TEXT_!IID_546],
    [SAP_BW_TEXT_!IID_549] are the ones for export to xl and CSV. Now to achieve this in your scenario, I think you will have to create another Z Template called Z0ADHOC_TABLE, remove these two text elements and then Link it to the template Z0ADHOC. Try this and let me know if it works.

  • Hyperion Web Analysis Studio - Excel Export Data PATH TO EXCEL

    I have a problem with Hyperion Web Analysis Studio by Export Data (Path to Excel) function on every client (windows Vista - IE 7 - Office 2007)
    The problem is when I try to use the Export data to Excel, the Path to the excel program is missing and I have to go manually over the directory and choose the excel.exe to export the report, when I restart the IE I have to do it again...
    Hyperion support suggested I try adding the Excel path to my webanalysis.properties file
    So I now have:
    ExcelPath=C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12\\EXCEL.EXE;C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12
    EXCEL.EXE
    WordPath=C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12\\WINWORD.EXE;C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12
    WINWORD.EXE
    PPTPath=C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12\\POWERPNT.EXE;C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12
    POWERPNT.EXE
    MaxDataCellLimit=200000
    XLExportMaxRows=60000
    XLExportMaxColumns=200
    ResolveDimSetAliases=false
    ExportDataFullPrecision=true
    To me this does not seem the way to go
    This did not correct my problem.
    Any ideas?
    thanks
    Erich

    Even we have the same issue.And changed the path in webanalysis.properties file.And it worked in entire report but in drillthru reports, export to excel 2010 didn't work and prompting to select the path to excel.Does anyone has solution for this??

  • Why authorization needed when accesing an export in excel from Bex

    Hi Experts,
    Before upgrade to version 7.0 when our user export a report to excel is
    neccessary enter user and password, the issue is that not everybody
    have a user therefore so they cannot see the excel.
    This problem is due to the icons are in the server and in the excel
    there are links to these icons of the server.(for example the icon of the hierarchy node)
    If you configurate the excel to not load the icons the issue disappears
    In Microsoft Excel
    Select tools->Options->General->Web Options->General tab
    and unmark the flag "Load pictures from Web pages"
    But this solution is not always available for all users due to different excel plug-ins installed in their local computers.
    Our questions are:
    1.- How can we avoid these icons in the future?
    2.- Why these problems occurs since the upgrade to SAP BW 7.0?
    3.- Is there any option to insert the icons instead of having links?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Reddy,
    it has been some time ago you have posted this issue so I'm not sure if you still need a solution for this issue.
    Anyway, I assume you have found the manual regarding the export to excel, csv and pdf for Visual Composer (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/47fe4fef-0d01-0010-6f87-ed8ecb479123)
    We also had issues with the export funcationality described in the document. I don't recall the exact error message.
    Just some advice:
    Copy the code from the document into Notepad. Then, make sure you re-arrange the code into 1 single line (remove all enters). Then, copy the code into the formula editor of the hyperlink action. Don't forget to define a store (e.g. reptname) but that is explained in the document as well.

    Hi Amer,
    There is a web item 'Menu bar' available in WAD 7.0.
    There, you can set the Action (Command Triggered) (ACTION) property to Export Web Application and achieve the functionality of exporting to excel.
    For more details, see this..

    Hi all,

  • Embedding Macros in the BEx web exported excel sheet

    Hi all Advanced reporting gurus,
    I have to embed a macro in the excel sheet, when the user clicks the button Export to excel sheet in the BEx web. This needs to be generic, it means every BEx web user should be able to avail this macro. Can any one suggest me the methods to do so ?? Its really urgent and ur quick response is awaited....
    Thanking you in advance,
    Bret

    Hi Heike,
    Thanks for your help. I searched the office XML documents and one the help file specifys this tag
    IntlMacro Element (Microsoft Excel)
    Specifies whether a worksheet is an international macro sheet.
    Contained In
    WorksheetOptions
    Remarks
    If <x:IntlMacro/> is specified, the worksheet is an international macro sheet.
    so I guess, if Office XML standards are used in BW then this tag also shld work. I read few topics on SAP ABAP class files such as ZCL_RSR_XLS_HELP_WINDOW_PRINT and it has one the method to trigger rendering of data. Can I use this class and method to send the tag values so that macro is also embedded while sending data ????
    your thought are highly awaited,
    thanks

  • "Export to Microsoft Excel" in Bex Web

    Hi Experts,
    I am refreshing report in Bex web and trying to save in Excel format.
    I am hitting on " Export to Microsoft Excel" button.
    It works fine with 65 pages report , but fails to export for report with 265+ pages.
    This report has 7+ columns.
    We are using MS 2007 version and BI 7.0
    Wanted to check if there are limitations or if any SAP NOTES or PATCHES would help me.
    I quick reply would  of great help to me.
    Thanking in advance.

    Hi,
    unfortunately SAP still limitate exporting to EXcel files no more
    than 65,536 rows , currently there is no solution available for this
    issue.
    Please check note 1040454 and its restrictions from the .NET
    environment, leading to the limitation of 750.000 cells. If one
    considers the currently existing limitation of 65536 rows, this
    would mean something around 11 columns. Even when more rows are
    supported, the maximum number of cells that the .Net process can
    handle would not increase.

  • Web Template - Freeze Columns &  Export to Excel

    Hello Gurus,
    I have a couple of questions .
    Issue:11.I have a input query assigned it to a web template.The query displays the KF's by fiscalperiod/fiscalyear. There are around 10 characteristics and additional KF's by fiscal period.Is it possible to freeze the characteristics like in Bex analyzer or Excel spreadsheet. Is it possible to do it at the template level.
    Issue:2:
    To do the export to excel, do I have to attach a planning function for export to excel button. I know there is a function to export to PDF file. I don't see a export to excel function.Please advise.
    Thanks for your help in solving the above issues.
    Senthil

    Hi,
    issue 2
    it is quite easy in WAD 7.0; all you have to do is to use command wizard - > export -> excel...
    After that you have to choose web items which should be exported. If you don't choose anythink, every web item will be exported.
    Regards

  • Output from Web Analysis Related Content will not Export to Excel

    I have Web Analysis reports, data in which is sourced from an EIS database. I have drill thru reports that are accessible from "Related Content". The resulting report is created fine, but cannot be exported into Excel. Specifically, I'm prompted for the location of Excel on my pc. Once I browse to it, it will open in Excel.
    I have upgraded from Office 10 to Office 12, although I cannot say for certain that is when this problem started occurring.
    Secondly, there are no other BI+ issues with export to Excel. For example, FR and WA export fine. The ExcelPath in the webanalysis.properties file takes care of that. I'm hoping there is something similar to update for this problem.
    Thanks for reading, hopefully someone else has encountered this and successfully resolved. BI+ version is 9.3.1.

    Have you tried the print button in the web analyzer it does export the input filter parameters as part of the exported PDF document.
    You can include any additional text elements and use a custom export template if required.

  • Output from Web, Printing OR Export to Excel

    Hi.
    A minimum requirement for GoLive of our Web project is that there should be some way of outputting the result of the query, and for the time being we can live with it being EITHER printing OR Export to Excel. (Output to Excel means output to 'proper' Excel, not a web appearance of Excel)
    Output that doesn't include the selected input parameters (and the report title) is not fit for purpose, and it appears that in order to overcome this hurdle on either means of output I have to resort to Prakash's blog on using the XPATH programming language.
    Or maybe note 1069368 on PDF export, but using 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT also appears to not work.
    Or we use the Information field (text elements, I believe) in a Container Web Item. But adding text elements one by one is not a workable solution either.
    Or The 3rd-Party route. But we really don't want to go there.
    SO.... standing back a little. SURELY, I think, someone out there has been here before, its not rocket science that I'm trying to do!
    So what is my question? Well, I want to know how other people have addressed this issue, please...
    3rd Party solution?
    Programming?
    Is there another OSS note that tells you really what to do?
    Or...
    I have spent several days investigating this, by the way, so although I MAY have missed the obvious, I don't believe I have.
    As a reward, as well as giving points, I have several documents that I have created, I am willing to share. How 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN is built, maybe, with screenshots? Or a WORKABLE version 7 workbook template for multiple queries?
    Thanks,
    Patrick
