BI Beans Help docs

Is the JDev help docs for BI Beans available outside of Jdev?
Can someone provide me the link to this doc if it exists?
-Kavitha

I realized that if you just go in to the main help topics for JDeveloper you can get the BI Beans help topics. It does not matter that the "BI Beans Help Contents" menu item does not work.

  • Managed Bean Help for Definition Help

    I am working on creating Managed Bean Help for Definition Help as described in ‘19.5.3 How to Create Managed Bean Help’ section of the Web User Interface Developer's Guide fpr ADF. Using JDev Version 11.1.2.1.0.
    Thought I had all the artifacts assembled but when I run the log message is: <ELHelpProvider> <_getTranslationMap> ELHelpProvider's helpSourceExpression is null.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Here is the managed bean:
    public class ELHelpProviderProjRequest extends ELHelpProvider {
        public ELHelpProviderProjRequest() {
        /* To use the HelpProvider, the EL expression in the helpTopicId attribute must point to a Map, otherwise
           * you will get a coerceToType error. */
        public Map<String, String> getHelpMap()
              Iterator iterator = _HELP_MAP.entrySet().iterator();
              while(iterator. hasNext()){
              System.out.println("hash map entry " + iterator.next());
            return _HELP_MAP;
        static private final Map<String, String> _HELP_MAP = new HashMap<String, String>();
            static {
              // each element [put] can be for a separate helpTopicId attribute
              _HELP_MAP.put("MAPHELP_CATEGORY_CAPITAL_DEFINITION", "Map value for credit card definition");
              _HELP_MAP.put("MAPHELP_CATEGORY_OTHER_DEFINITION", "Map value for credit card instructions");
    }  Here is the adf-setting.xml in Application sources / META-INF:

  • Can't find BI Beans Help topic

    I've installed JDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0 (build 1913) and Bi Beans 10.1.2.1, but I do not see the "Building Applications with BI Beans" Help topic within JDeveloper. How do I get access to this Help file? Can it be accessed somewhere other than within JDeveloper?
    Thanks

    I also had this problem some time ago, after installing with base+doc install. After some time, I figured out that it was caused by the "Documentation" settings in the "Preferences" of JDev. You have to make sure that it is set to "Local documentation" instead of "Hosted documentation".
    Apparently, when running the base install (with the doc install afterwards), this setting is set to "Hosted documentation". It would have been good if Oracle had highlighted this point a little bit more in their installation documentation of JDev and BI Beans.

  • Is this the help docs for Indesign, on a website?

    I remember a time when apps came with a help section that did more than link unusably to menu items.
    Is this the help docs for Indesign?
    http://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/topics.html
    Why is there no interactive local help system?
    I went searching for a map of the keyboard shortcuts...

    THANK YOU!!!
    I thought it was me. I couldn't get that AIR app to ever finish updating.  I was hoping it would install .chm style interactive help... but now... thanks, I know not to worry.  It's a bad joke.
    Someone should tell Adobe that just because they make AIR and Acrobat doesn't mean they're the ideal formats for help files.
    Partially related question, is there such a thing as a good AIR app?

  • JSP/Servlet/Bean help

    Pretty new to java and I am getting an error that I have tried to figure out for a few days here and ... well... not getting far.
    I have a servlet that calls one of two jsp pages depending on GET or POST. index.jsp is called on GET and works fine. On POST the servlet gets a db pool connection does a quick select count(*) query and then populates a bean with the results. This all works fine (as I have system.out.println's showing me the results)
    But when it forwards to the next jsp page the page bombs out because it can't seem to find the Bean.
    The error is below.
    my set up is Tomcat 4.x
    the main servlet AECPhoneServlet is in ...webapps/damn/WEB-INF/classes
    the bean (QueryBean) is in ...webapps/damn/WEB-INF/classes/com/phone
    jsp's are in ...webapps/damn
    web.xml looks like this
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app

    <servlet-name>AECPhoneServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/AECPhone</url-pattern>

    :/usr/tomcat/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/webapps/damn/WEB-INF/classes/com/phone:.:/usr/tomcat/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/servlet.jar
    I am beating my head against the wall here. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Assume I know nothing. lol. Because basically I don't.

  • How to integrate Lotus Notes and upload Help Docs into SAP Portal

    Hi Experts,
    I got 2 questions with regards to content in portal...
    1) I got nearly 30 to 40 help documents (PDF & WORD) which users may refer when accssing CRM & BW system in portal.
    Currently they are stored in the Local Drive....i am trying to find a way to upload them portal...so the users can always have the docs the require
    and
    2) Can any one please update me in detail ...on how to integrate Lotus Notes into portal and configure Single Sign on  currently my Portal and Lotus Notes user id's are different
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Geethika,
    1. IF documents are on your local computer, Netweaver Portal has a KMC Addon (Knowledge Management and Collaboration). Within KM it is possible to run a Document Management Scenario. You can Create Folders within KM, give Access Rights to Users, Create an Iview to browse KM Folder then add that Iview to a Page or Role so users can access it.
    For this, please chech the online documentation via http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/20/b46d42ea0b3654e10000000a155106/content.htm
    2. For Lotus Notes Integration, your Lotus Notes Server must be running on Windows Platform.
    For the rest configuration please check the following:
    Single Sign-On from SAP Enterprise Portal to Lotus Domino

  • Multiple Container calls to same bean - HELP!

    Here's something that I can't understand.
    In short:
    When I make a request to a Session Bean for a particular method, it's starts the method, calls other beans, finishes the method, and then the same method is called 3 more times.
    In short
    servlet ---> Big session bean
    ----> child bean 1
    ----> child bean 2
    ----> child bean 3
    ----> child bean 4
    <---- should return to the servlet but calls the big session bean again 3 times.
    the method is declared as Required and any Exceptions thrown by the children are caught by Big Session, so I don't see how the Container is calling multiple times.
    Any ideas or possible starting points would be greatly appreciating.
    Thanks in advance,
    Craig

    I have figured out what happened.
    A Transaction rollback was being thrown, which I thought was the result of the lengthy time to process the four calls. The transaction time out is defaulted at 60 secs (half way through the method call) and after that it rolls back. The default for the max-tx-reties is 3, which is seen.
    Therefore, with the max-tx-retries="0" in the orion-ejb-jar.xml and the <transaction-config timeout="150000"/> set to 5 minutes my transaction has time to finish.
    Thanks, for your help.
    Craig

  • Heads up: Adding FlexBuilder help docs for AFCS to Eclipse

    Just a quick note to those of you who run FlexBuilder as the Eclipse plugin rather than the standalone version. If you want the AFCs docs to show up in FlexBuilder/Eclipse help then add them as described in the PDF, but do *not* add them to the plugins directory of the FlexBuilder Plugin but to the main Apps/eclipse/plugins folder (this is for OSX, probably the same on Windows).
    So if you run the FB plugin, then add the docs to Eclipse itself or they won't show (at least they didn't for me).

    when i tried to create a new j2ee enterprise application project on a brand new install of workshop 9.2 for solaris 9/sparc, workshop crashed before i could even finish creating the project.
    prior to trying to create the project, i had noticed in "Help -> Manage Configuration" that the "com.bea.eclipse.server.lib.weblogic9" plugin under the "WebLogic Workshop Server Libraries" feature was not configured properly. the configurator was reporting 'Plug-in "com.bea.eclipse.server.lib.weblogic9" referenced by this feature is missing'. i suspected that this missing plugin is what caused the crash.
    i examined $WORKSHOP_HOME/server/eclipse/plugins/com.bea.eclipse.server.lib..weblogic9/plugins.xml and saw that it had been installed originally with the following value for the plugin element:
      <plugin id="com.bea.eclipse.server.lib.weblogic9; singleton:=true"...>whereas the $WORKSHOP_HOME/server/eclipse/features/com.bea.eclipse.server.lib/feature.xml had the following value for the plugin element:
      <plugin id="com.bea.eclipse.server.lib.weblogic9...>i removed "; singleton:=true" from the plugins.xml file and now "Manage Configuration" reports the status of the feature as "configured properly"; plus i am now able to complete the creation of new j2ee enterprise application projects.
