BI Java SDK: deployment to J2EE Server

Hi all,
I've just got a simple problem. I'm running a Java servlet on the SAP J2EE Engine, which uses the BI Java SDK to connect to a BW system. This works fine if I include all jar files from the SDK in the project classpath via the "add external jar" button.
However, doing so results in a really big ear file (because all the jar files are included in it) which takes some time to deploy therefore.
I tried to follow the guide How_To_BI_Java_SDK_J2EE_App.pdf, telling me that "the BI Java SDK libraries are required to compile this scenario". My question is now, how do I correctly add/reference these jar files so that they won't be included in the ear file which I have to deploy every time I'm changing the source code?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards
Mathias

Hi Mathias,
I would suggest you for the better and quick result try to put this post on Java Forum.

i don't know where the "OrdContentSource" is,and who tell me how can i config the package to run on jboss or other j2ee server? and if there are such tutorials or articles?
i think that oracle company should provide a common package, when i use non-oracle j2ee server,i can include them.
    thank you!

Looks like you have a proxy configured, and that proxy (of course) doesn't support routing to 127.0.0.1

  • Java DC wrapped in J2EE Server Comp Library DC

    Hi Experts
I have jxl.jar file, I imported this jar file in a Java DC and declared jxl.jar as public part. I created a Webdynpro DC and used the public part in it. I have created an application, component and a view in it using some classes of jxl.jar. I created a new J2EE Server Component Library DC and used the public part of jxl.jar in it again. Built the J2EE Server Component Library DC. Once done I got a .sda file. I deployed it in server. Once this is done, I have added the J2EE Server Component Library DC in my Webdynpro DC's Library Reference. Once I added this, i built it and deployed it. I got deployment finished with Warnings. Please see the exception below and Please advice.
    Exception from NWDS Deployment Screen
"java.rmi.RemoteException: Error occurred while starting application wrigley.com/signauth/ui and wait. Reason: Clusterwide exception: server ID 6840450:com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.DeploymentException: Clusterwide exception: Failed to prepare application wrigley.com/signauthui for startup. Reason=Clusterwide exception: Failed to start dependent library ''signauth/libraryimpl'' of application ''wrigley.com/signauthui''. Status of dependent component:  STATUS_MISSING. Hint: Is the component deployed correctly on the engine?"
    Names of the DCs used
    Webdynpro DC - signauth/ui
    J2EE Server Component DC - signauth/libraryimpl
Java External Library DC - signauth/library
FYI. I have created J2EE Server Component DC's name with more number of characters. Hope this shouldn't create issue. If this is also an issue, please let me know. I will reduce it and try.
    Thank you

  • LDAP Java SDK errors with iDS5.1

I'm using the 5.08 java SDK and iPlanet directory server 5.1 SP1. My code works fine on 4.X directory servers but doesn't work correctly on 5.1 SP1.
    Jar file: 262749 Sep 19 15:17 ldapjdk.jar
Example: LDAPSearchResults.getCount() returns 2 when it should return one. Only one database backend, userroot. When I perform the same search from the command line with ldapsearch it only retrieves one. I viewed the access log and see that it reports "nentries=1." Has anyone seen this before?

Works fine. Only problem I ran into was when I used the ConnectionPool class!

We seem to be missing the Java SDK componet on our server, which is most likely the cause to why the CMS is not being found.
Can this one component be reinstalled from the software cd?
    Thanks!

I have just tried that...Tomcat looks to be installed.  I had to "start" the service.
But somehow it still has not fixed the problem.
I checked Add/Remove Program List and I don't see that Java SDK in the list, when I thought it had been there before.
Leads me to believe that the Java did not install or install properly.
I am considering a complete uninstall and then reinstall of the software.
What files/directories/database locations should I be backing up before I attempt such a task?
    Thanks.

405 errors in the HTTP cycle
Any client goes through the following cycle:
    * Obtain an IP address from the IP name of your site (your site URL without the leading 'http://'). This lookup (conversion of IP name to IP address) is provided by domain name servers (DNSs).
    * Open an IP socket connection to that IP address.
    * Write an HTTP data stream through that socket.
    * Receive an HTTP data stream back from your Web server in response. This data stream contains status codes whose values are determined by the HTTP protocol. Parse this data stream for status codes and other useful information.
This error occurs in the final step above when the client receives an HTTP status code that it recognises as '405'.
    Resolving 405 errors - general
405 errors often arise with the POST method. You may be trying to introduce some kind of input form on your Web site, but not all ISPs allow the POST method necessary to process the form.
All 405 errors can be traced to configuration of the Web server and security governing access to the content of the Web site.

  • Retrieve already deployed webdynpro for java source code from portal server

    HI ,
We have webdynpro for java apllication already deployed on the J2EE server.  We found the ear file related to this application.  But I am not able to make any changes to the ear file in NWDS as it cannot be directly imported into NWDS.  We do not have NWDI for software logistics and the resource who built the WDJ application has left the company.  Is there any way that I can retrieve the complete source code of the application from the portal.  I need to make some changes to Webdynpro component and its view.  I have worked with basis team to retrieve the ear file from portal server.  But I could not make any progress just with the ear file.  Thank you for your help in advance
    Regards,
    KMM.

You are probably breaking some license agreement by de-compiling the content of the 'war' files. Why not ask the people who provided the 'war' file if you could have the source and build system.

  • If we are migrating from JRC to CR Java SDK, do we need RAS or any server

    Current situation
e already have lots of clients running our product. We are using JRC to show the reports. Reports are designed in Crystal Reports Designer and hosted in the J2EE application servers. No modification/updating of these reports are needed from the client side. No need to create either full or part of the reports on the fly.
Only thing we do on the report other than just calling the viewerSDK to view, is: we read the parameters from the (designed/hosted) report to do parameter prompting in our own custom JSP. We went to create our own JSP to prompt for report parameters, because, using JRC SDK, for some reason we were unable to get dynamic (drop-down) parameter showing the list of values. These dynamic parameters are list of values, user choose one. So these parameters are linked to a command with simple SQL like (select col1, col2 from table1).
    Current API ???
I think we have this free JRC SDK. We have a directory called crystalreportviewers115 in our product deployment plus some JARS like (CrystalReportEngine.jar, CrystalCommon.jar, CrystalCharting.jar, CrystalExporters.jar, CrystalExportingBase.jar, CrystalDatabaseConnectors.jar, CrystalFormulas.jar, CrystalQueryEngine.jar, CrystalReportingCommon.jar, rasapp.jar, rascore.jar, ReportViewer.jar, etc) in our appserver j2ee classpath.
    Now there are two choices:
    1. Let crystal report viewer handle itself the parameter prompting; Then, I do not know if it is possible with this free JRC SDK or anything else that is open source. If it is possible with some upgrading can you please let me know some tips to goahead.
    2. Finding a way to read the parameter details like the SQL command, etc, so that we can show it in our JSP. I do not know if we still need to upgrade to a different version of SDK.
I tried looking for a different or newer SDKs... It is confusing with  things CR for Eclipse, CR Java SDK, etc. Do not know which direction to go!!!
    Can someone guide me please.

CR Java SDK consists of JRC + Veiwers Java SDK.
CR Eclipse 2.0 is latest IDE in which CR 2008 features are integrated.
There are different set of JRCs for different versions of Crystal Reports. But for CR 2008 there is no separate JRC has been launched yet, instead CR4E 2.0 Java SDK has been launched which is free.
For more details about CR4E 2.0 please check out this link

What could be a solution to this?
Is there any step by step procedure for that?

    Dear JDC member;
I recommend to try to add local interfaces...They are optionnal, but they can make things work.
Also, the other issue with CMP you have to map correctly the fields to your tables.

For sure you are missing a library as the 'Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.j2ee.ws.server.WSForwardServlet' error tells.
You can use 'Tools'->'Manage Libraries' and paste the class name into the search field, search for it and see all libraries which contain the missing class. Add this (one of them) to the projects libs and it should work.
Make sure you deploy to a server which is set up with the correct adf runtime libs (11.1.1.5.0 means you need a WLS 10.3.5 server).

  • How to deploy my web module to J2EE server?

hi, i used forte CE to create my web module and its working perfectly when i run it through forte CE.
I've created a .war file for my web module through forte CE via the command Export WAR.
I've set up my J2EE server and its running cause i can go to its index page.
Now the problem, through the deployment tool that come with J2EE, I created a new application and add my .war into it. Next I tried to deploy my application .ear file. The deployment is successful.
But when I tried to access my application through the browser, I got this error messages:
    A Servlet Exception Has Occurred
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSPNote: sun.tools.javac.Main has been deprecated.
An error occurred at line: 2 in the jsp file: /searchQRStatus.jsp
    Generated servlet error:
    e:\j2sdkee1.3\repository\psa\web\qrstatus\_0002fsearchQRStatus_jsp.java:65: Class org.apache.jsp.ConnectionBean not found.
    ConnectionBean connection = null;
I got repeated similiar error msgs for all my javabeans, ConnectionBean is one of them.
It seems that the server cannot find my javabean .java/.class files.
I only use jsp/javabeans/html/ms access database with ODBC connection.
    1) How to solve my problems?
    2) Do I need to set up a new ODBC 32bit System DSN for my database again, since the location for the database is different after deployment?
any help will be greatly appreciated..............thankz

perhaps your J2EE server only has access to JRE and not JDK? ... you'll need the JDK to run JSP pages because they are compiled on-the-fly into servlets. just a thought.
