BI Publisher and TomCat JDBC error
Hey Folks,
I have BI Pulbisher up and running in a cluster mode on a Solaris box with a shared folder such as (/u01/app/BI_Publisher/xmlp) as the file path in WEB-INF\xmlp-server-congfig.xml. All my reports and XMLP configuration folders are stored in that directory (ie. Admin, DemoFiles, Reports, Tools etc..). BI Publisher is up and running under the tomcat user id.
My OBIEE directory is contained in /opt/oracle/app/OracleBI....
Now when I deployed the xmlpserver.war file and configure my connections, everything was working properly.
Now I see the following exception being thrown in the tomcat logs. This error msgs are inserted to the logs every second and it will fill up the log file in a matter of hours which makes the BI Publisher go down.
I have to erase the logs and re-cycle the tomcat server and everything is fine again, but these msgs keep filling up the logs.
How can i solve this issue of "Cannot load JDBC driver class 'oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver'"?

Trying to publish and getting error message.
Never fails...if I don't have time for a problem, Muse goes whacky. I don't have problems with any other Adobe software. But this one? wow.
I'm just trying to publish and I'm getting the 400, 101004 error message.
I delted extra files and would love to uninstall but how do I do that?
And, when I relaunch, it tells me that my subscription expired. Nice. It hasn't.
This sort of stuff reminds me of the old days with System 7 OS and everything crashing.Hello,
Please try de-activating and re-activating Muse from the Help menu and re-launch (follow the onscreen prompts).
If the above doesn't help, please try clearing Muse preferences as mentioned here - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5086018#5086018 . Once done try to publish again and let me know if you get any error message.

Jsp import package error after upgrading to jdk1.4.2_08 and tomcat 5.0
I am trying to upgrade the jdk and tomcat from 1.3/3.3 to 1.4/5.0.
My jsp imports worked fine prior to the upgrade, but now I get the following:

The package in the import statement "import com.adware.print.database.inquire.*" actually has no classes in it. The classes are contained in "import com.adware.print.database.inquire.controller.*". If I change the import statement everything works. The problem is that I have 100s of jsps. If there is a work-around outside of changing the import statements, that would be best.
Can anyone help? Thanks.do you know what url is being looked up? the message is complaining that the url is starting with the string "an]", which seems pretty bogus.

Error integrating publisher and BI
Hi all!
I'm trying the 11g version of BI. We want to separate the security of Publisher and Analytics: in Publisher the users log with LDAP. This is ok, because users can log perfectly in both places. The problem is when we try to do one report in Publisher. The next error appears:
No input xdo file path is specified
And we can't, for example, create a data model from Answers because the catalog appears empty.
What's happening?? What does that error mean?
Thanks in advanceHi ,
I am experiencing the same problem.
From the Application Roles;
First , I created a role like 'XMLP_ADMIN'.
ThenI gave authenticated-role to the XMLP_ADMIN
When I do like this I can handle my problem.I hope this helps... -
I am using oracle as database and weblogic 4.5. I have copied the classes12.zip file in lib directory of weblogic. I am getting the error that oracle.sql.* and oracle.jdbc.driver.* not found when i am importing these packages in a jsp file. what i need to do to import oracle driver packages?I put it in the classpath also.
Please Advice!
Thanks in advance
AnuPamaHi Anupama,
First of all I would be surprised if you would not like to use the connection pooling feature of weblogic (in which case you might not be needing the import the classes directly), and would like to open direct connections to your database. Anyways for doing that I would recommend you to check out the readme doc that ships
along with the jdbc oracle (classes12.zip etc). I am giving an excerpt over here:
These are a few simple things that you should do in your JDBC program:
1. Import the necessary JDBC classes in your programs that use JDBC.
For example:
import java.sql.*;
import java.math.*;
2. Register the Oracle driver before before calling other JDBC APIs.
(This is not needed if you are using the JDBC Server-side Internal
Driver because registration is done automatically in the server.)
To register the Oracle driver, make sure the following statement
is executed at least once in your Java session:
DriverManager.registerDriver(
new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
3. Open a connection to the database with the getConnection call.
Different connection URLs should be used for different JDBC
drivers. The following examples demonstrate the different URLs.
For the JDBC OCI8 Driver:
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
"jdbc:oracle:oci8:@<database>",
"scott", "tiger");
where <database> is either an entry in tnsnames.ora or a SQL*net
name-value pair.
For the JDBC Thin Driver, or Server-side Thin Driver:
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
"jdbc:oracle:thin:@<database>",
"scott", "tiger");
where <database> is either a string of the form
<host>:<port>:<sid> or a SQL*net name-value pair.
For the JDBC Server-side Internal Driver:
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
"jdbc:oracle:kprb:");
Note that the trailing ':' character is necessary. When you use
the Server-side Internal Driver, you always connect to the
database you are executing in. You can also do this:
Connection conn
= new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver().defaultConnection();
Hope this helps,
Thanks,

My site will publish to a folder, but will not publish to MobileMe. Error says, “iWeb couldn’t connect to MobileMe. Make sure your Internet connection works and try again.“ Connection is OK!
Thank you Alancito for your reply. The recent post you suggested was not necessary because another of your suggestions did the trick: https://discussions.apple.com/message/11503337#11503337 In effect, it seems to have reestablished my connection to my MobileMe account, and my iWeb site now publishes on MobileMe.
My next step will be to transfer my iWeb site to another Personal Web Provider when MobileMe ceases to exist next June. Any recommendations for a simple PWP?
Thank you very much,

Tomcat, JDBC and other APIs
Hi all,
This must be one of the most trivial questions to ask, but I'm new, so please bear with me.
I have downloaded Tomcat, JDBC and JSSE. The question is: in which directory should I unpack these files and how should I set them up so that my Java compiler (JAVAC) will recognize this change?
I am using the Java Software Development Kit version 1.3, and all of the class files, compilers and sample code that came with the SDK are in C:\jdk1.3.0_02\.
Thank you in advance,
cindybubblesHi there,
There's not much to installing Tomcat other than unzipping the distribution file, moving it to the place where you want it to be in your filesystem and then following the installation instructions in the Tomcat User's guide. This involves setting the TOMCAT_HOME and JAVA_HOME environment variables. Once you've set JAVA_HOME then Tomact can now find your Java installation.
The core JDBC package is included in jdk1.3.0_02, if it's the optional package that have then just install it's jar file in c:\jdk1.3.0_02\jre\lib\ext
JSSE also can be installed as a standard extension so copy it's jar file to c:\jdk1.3.0_02\jre\lib\ext.
When a jar file is added to c:\jdk1.3.0_02\jre\lib\ext, the classes and packages that it contains will be available to you and to other applications that use the jdk (such as Tomcat). The term Standard Extension has been replaced with "Optional Package" now, but you are likely to still see both terms used interchangeably.
Hope this helps.

MBoniHi,
The JDBC adapter error looks like- your xml document is not correct. ie. the structure which is given to JDBC adapter.
Have a look into this-
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/2e/96fd3f2d14e869e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Also look into this-for structure

1) Crystal Report 2013 doe snot install any SDK. Thus the assumption is that you are using CR from teh following link:
SAP BusinessObjects - SAP Crystal Reports, Version For Eclipse Download
2) Since you are using a 64 bit connection (Oracle Client 11g 62 bit ODBC driver) you will have to make sure you are using 64 bit JVM. Otherwise, follow Dell's advice and use a 32 bit ODBC datasource.
3) On one test you are using Oracle Client 10g 32 bit ODBC driver and the other you are using Oracle Client 11g 64 bit ODBC driver. You might want to see if you can run your app using Client 11g 32 bit ODBC driver.

Oracle9i and Tomcat 4.03
dear all, currently, I've installed Oracle 9i and Tomcat4.03, as well as JSDK1.4.0. However, I've found that after installing Oracle 9i, Tomcat 4.03 (start.sh) seems couldn't run. Is Oracle 9i JVM has overwritten the existing JVM? On the other hands, as I stop the Oracle service in admin. tools(note that i'm using windowsXP), Tomcat is able to start but can't access to Oracle Database that I've created. Following is the error that returned to me as I attempt to start Tomcat (Notice that Oracle database services are started):
Catalina.start: LifecycleException: null.open: java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind:8080
LifecycleException: null.open: java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind:8080
at org.apache.catalina.connector.http.HttpConnector.initialize<HttpConnector.java:1130>
and I've set the environment as followed:
CATALINA_HOME = E:\Apache Tomcat 4.0
CLASSPATH = .;E:\oracle\ora90\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip
JAVA_HOME = C:\j2sdk1.4.0
Path = E:\oracle\ora90\bin;E:\oracle\ora90\Apache\Perl\5.00503\bin\mswin32-x86;C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.8\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem
Your help is much appreciated...:) Pls help... it's urgent.
Thanks in advance.
regards,
Wiwi.dear Saifuddin,
Thanks for your help. In fact, when Iast time I installed the Oracle 8i, it came with Apache server services, however, it did not require me to change anything on server.xml under Tomcat folder. But why this time when installing Oracle 9i did require on change of port. By the way, instead of allocate localhost:8080 on Tomcat, can I allocate Tomcat port on "localhost: 8000"?
Actually, I've stopped the Oracle database service and Oracle HTTP Server in Administrative Tools, but why I still have the returned error like; "... address already been used, JVM Bind: 8080" ?
By the way, are you using Oracle 9i and Tomcat 4.0.3? Pls give me advice on how to setting the Oracle 9i and Tomcat 4.0.3. I highly appreciate your help.
Thanks in adv.
best regards.

Hi experts,
I have been working with Eclipse for last 1 month. I was just working with Portal application component development and publishing it to the SAP EP J2EE server everything worked fine.
I have eclipse,JDK,Tomcat3.3.2 installed in my laptop and EP J2EE engine runs on the server.
Now i studied online regarding the development process with eclipse, The portal application component is published to Tomcat web server first and tested for possible errors and then published to the EP J2EE server. How this process is handled?
Can any expert explain on this and provide me link to make the required configuration of eclipse for publishing to tomcat web server?
Thank you
arunWell, the answer I found was that I have an invalid character that is not supported yet by the WAS, the character is "ñ".
Using Eclipse and deploying in Tomcat worked fine but in WAS 7.0 SP 8 it throws ParseExceptions

Communication problem between NetBeans and Tomcat
hi!
i got a quite mysterious problem. here is what happens:
- i start NetBeans 5.5.1 (the first time)
- i want to debug my JSF-Project, the Debugger starts
- After a few seconds the debugger waits for tomcat (it sais: "Waiting for Tomcat...") and tomcat starts
- Again after a few seconds the tomcat-debugger-output sais "Tomcat startet in 3333 ms".
okay.
when i enter http://localhost:8084/ in my browser i get the tomcat homepage, so the server has definitely started! But nothing happens in NetBeans and nothing happens with my project....
In the lower-right corner i see this blue working-bar that sais "deploying project" but nothing happens. The Project-Debugger-Output still sais "Waiting for Tomcat..." but nothing happens...
And after something around 3 minutes (i guess it's a timeout) i get the error "Starting of Tomcat failed." But is HAS started, i can login to the Administration-Area in my browser!
so i guess there is a communication problem between netbeans an tomcat. Netbeans waits for a message from tomcat but tomcat doesn't send it..or netbeans doesn't understand it.
But the story goes on:
When i press the debug-button a second time it takes only a few seconds till i get the message: "Tomcat server port 8084 already in use". OF COURSE! Because Tomcat has already startet and can't be stoped by NetBeans.
i'm trying to solve this problem for 4 days now, so i would be very happy if anyone has an idea where to start/continue the search...
thanks,
flo.
