  • How to set it up to use BI Publisher Report layout in APEX

    Hi all,
    I downloaded the xml file from APEX to create a BI Publisher report layout and uploaded it to APEX report layout in share component. When I click the test report button, nothing showed. Would you show me what else I need to do to make it work?
    Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks much@

    You need to use the desktop layout editor that works under Word to develop report layouts..

  • Display Interactive BI Publisher report on Oracle APEX

    Hi Gurus,
    I am struggling a log in order to display my current Interactive BI Publisher report along with LOVs to be displayed in APEX. I am getting an error.
    The report cannot be rendered because of an error, please contact the administrator.
    Error Detail

    I selected "share report link" => No header from BI Publisher Interactive report. It does have "Year" and "Month" as LOV which I choose the value from drop down list. I want same to be displayed under APEX for selection.
    At the end of the link, I have tried providing username and password also like - &id=weblogic&passwd=password, but still receiving above error.
    I am very much stuck at this point, so any help is very much appreciated.
    I am using APEX ver 4.1, oracle database 11g R2 and Oracle Bi Publisher 11g Enterprise edition.
    URL Which I tried in APEX, I tried running from browser and it works well along with LOV selection drop down list.
    Please help gurus

    I also have this same question.  The publisher report parameters are not modeled in the rpd, they are from a BIP jdbc conneciton to a transactional database.

  • Publishing Reports Sets in ADI

    We have traditionally relied for ADI to help us distribute monthly financial reports, i.e. spreadsheets to the company intranet site.
    Unfortunately the process crashes at about 20% of Excel output, i.e. Excel cannot complete this task with available resources. Choose less data or close other applications message appears.
    Tried increasing the paging file size and other resource allocation options - nothing helps.

  • Calling BI Publisher Report

    I call a bi publisher report from an apex button using:
    javascript:popupURL('&BI_URL.Guest/MERCURY/CUSTOMS/REJECTS/MER_REJECTS_MISC/MER_REJECTS_MISC.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=0&_xdo=%2FGuest%2FMERCURY%2FCUSTOMS%2FREJECTS%2FMER_REJECTS_MISC%2FMER_REJECTS_MISC.xdo&P_REJECT_ID=&P59_REJECT_ID.&_xt=MER_REJECTS_MISC&_xf=rtf&_xmode=4');
    {CODE}
    The report opens but there is no standard toolbar, ie, cannot print or save. Do I need to specify something in the url.
    If I open this as a pdf then the print, save options are there

    I changed the url and have managed to get the report to open in Word properly, ie, with toolbar.
    javascript:popupURL('&BI_URL.Guest/MERCURY/CUSTOMS/REJECTS/MER_REJECTS_MISC/MER_REJECTS_MISC.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=1&_xdo=%2FGuest%2FMERCURY%2FCUSTOMS%2FREJECTS%2FMER_REJECTS_MISC%2FMER_REJECTS_MISC.xdo&P_REJECT_ID=&P59_REJECT_ID.&_xt=MER_REJECTS_MISC&_xf=rtf');I changed the xpt=0 to xpt=1 and deleted anything after the _xf=rtf'.
    This now opens in word correctly, but also opens an extra blank window. I have had this problem before and thought I had solved it by using the aboce codel.
    Does anybody know how to stop the generation of the blank window
    Cheers

  • Call BI Publisher Report in APEX, based on R.T.F Template Layout.

    Hi to all respected members of this forum.
    Since 18th May (Saturday), I am trying to connect BI Publisher Reports with Oracle Application Express 4.2.2.
    My APEX Version = APEX 4.2.2
    Oracle BI Publisher Enterprise Edition (Trial) = 11.1.1.6.0
    Oracle BI Publisher Desktop 32 Bit = 11.117.0.79
    For this purpose what I did?
    Firstly I downloaded Oracle BI Publisher Enterprise Edition 11.7 and when I started Installation I came to know that "R.C.U (Repository Creation Utility)" is required during installation and I don't have that so, left this idea.
    Than I downloaded Oracle BI Publisher Enterprise Edition (Trial) from www.oracle.com and BI Publisher Desktop Edition for Templates because there is no facility in BI Publisher Trial Edition to design Report Templates. I have installed both successfully and created a report as per my requirement.
    Now, I want to call that report in Oracle APEX but I am unable to do that.
    I followed http://dgielis.blogspot.de/2007/12/call-bi-publisher-report-from-apex.html but the link which is shown in picture no: 03, is not available, so this didn't help me.
    Then, I followed Oracle BI Publisher Blog https://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/entry/apex_users_why_not_integrate_w which discuss to call BI Publisher Report in APEX based on "Generic Report Layout". This done successfully but still I am unable to call BI Publisher Report .
    Then I found this type of script
    http://localhost/xmlpserver/Guest/Reporting_Channel.xdo&id=FGFC&password=****&xt=Reporting_Channel&xf=pdf
    to call BI Publisher Report in APEX but this also failed.
    Please help me to understand that how to call "BI Publisher Report in APEX, based on R.T.F Template Layout.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Are you trying to have multiple sql queries and have multiple sections displaying different data sets ? Or with one single query but display it in different ways in a single report ?
    You can create one single query as Report Query in APEX and associate it with a BIP report layout. So you can achieve a Dashboard layout with the report query/layout.

  • URGENT Printing a BI publisher report from a column link in APEX

    I am developing an APEX report with a column link that will call a BI publisher report, the case is the link column in the APEX report will pass the item number to the BI publisher query.
    At the moment this is what I am doing:
    1- Create a hidden item on top of page zero. (e.g. PARAM1_VALUE)
    2- Create a report query and a report layout (For BI Publisher) in the Shared Components. (e.g ITEM_REPORT)
    3- Include the state session in the report query and reference that item in the query. (e.g. SELECT * FROM items where item_number = :PARAM1_VALUE)
    4- Create an APEX report displaying orders with the item number as a link column.
    5- In the Link column I set the report URL request to be "PRINT_SERVER=ITEM_REPORT".
    6- In addition I set the PARAM1_VALUE to be #ITEM_NUMBER# on the link.
    When I press on the link the BI publisher report prints but it doesn't display anything except the Headers, my understanding is that PARAM1_VALUE is not set with the item_number value when I press on the link and thus the query returns no results as when I remove the condition from the query i can see the report printing.
    Please help as this is urgent

    I opened the session and it is there with a proper value, it appears that whenever I enable the inclusion of session state in my shared components query the query returns no rows even if I am not using the item in the query.
    So if my query is "SELECT * FROM items" it will display nothing, the only way to get the report data back is to untick the inclusion of the session state and remove any reference to the item from my query, then I will get the report with all my data (which is NOT what I am trying to do).
    Thanks alot

    Hi!
    Here is my story! I have a procedure in APEX that creates xml files. These files should be available from url something like http://host:port/apex/file.xml I'm using embedded pl/sql gateway and Oracle 11g on suse 64bit.
    Is it possible or I have to search for another way to do what I need.
    This is needed because those xml files contains sld formating for wms services used from other server.Try this:
    Create a PL/SQL package in your schema (assuming it is called "myschema") called "myfile" with a procedure called "xml".
    In the procedure, use htp.p to output the XML.
    NOTE: This procedure will not, by itself, use the Apex authentication/authorization schemes. Anyone can invoke it, unless you build some logic into the procedure itself.
    Then do the following:
    grant execute on myfile to anonymous; -- or whatever user the EPG DAD is set up to use
    create synonym anonymous.myfile for myschema.myfile; -- so the package does not have to be prefixed with the actual user
    If the DAD in EPG is setup with a "request-validation-function", you need to modify this as well to allow access to the stored procedure.
    See http://daust.blogspot.com/2006/04/xe-calling-stored-procedures.html for more information.

  • Calling A BI Publisher Report From A Link In An Apex Report

    I have a report on my page
    select id, aa, bb
    from table_x
    What I want to do is to have an extra column or use the id column as a link (which says Print Report) to call an BI Publisher report. This call should pass over the id and open the report in a popup window.
    For certain reasons I do not want to use the built in report queries and layouts in apex, just call the report straight for BI.
    I call other BI reports in my application, but always from a button.
    Help appreciated
    Gus

    Hi,
    All that such a button does is submit the page and branch to page zero passing in the request field something like this:
    PRINT_REPORT=my_report
    So, to do the same in a dynamic action, use an "execute javascript code" action with something like this in it:
    location.href = 'f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=my_report';

  • Passing a list of items from APEX to a Bi Publisher report

    I currently have Bi Publisher report that is parameter driven based on items selected from an APEX application. Currently, the user select one value for the parameter and the value is passed in the URL string and the report produces as expected. Now the user wants to be able to select items from a checkbox list and the items checked are the values to be passed. Has anyone ever dealt with this type of request and if yes, could you please point me in the right direction. I search the forum and I couldn't find any topics that dealt with my situation.

    Try using the "get content from textedit" action. More specifically, use your Applescript to dump the urls into a textedit doc and then use the "get contents..." action to feed the "get specified urls" action.

  • Choosing the columns for a Bi Publisher report in APEX

    A user wants to select each column in a pdf report printed in APEX, it is easy to make a report with bi bublisher but how can i change the columns at run time.

    Thanks for the link. I am reading it for better understanding.
    I just came to know from SR that, In order to see the BI Publisher in the Presentation Server list of values, we have to embed the BI Publihser report inside an OTBI Dashboard.
    So we need to create a 'Dashboards' folder (It is must only then we are able to see it via fusion apps. to select and embed), then Dashboard and add the desired report to this dashboard. Now we can navigate to this dashboard, open it and select the page to embed it.
    Might be useful for the ppl who faces similar issue. Thanks.

  • APEX & BI Publisher - report column amount limit?

    Hi all,
    I try to extend reports in an apex application by exports to output formats
    provided by BI Publisher.
    All reports work fine except one report that contains 39 columns.
    So I did several tests and found out that apex won't send report xml data
    to BI Publisher server if the report contains more than 29 columns that
    are marked to be included in export.
    Everytime I call that report apex returns an "empty" http response with a header like this:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Date: Tue, 02 Oct 2007 09:33:00 GMT
    Server: Server
    Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=test.xls
    <pre>report error: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small</pre>
    Content-Type: application/excel
    Content-Length: 0
    Keep-Alive: timeout=15, max=100
    Connection: Keep-Alive
    The error occurs independent on selected output format.
    I am using apex version 3.0.1.00.08 (3.0.1 patch applied to 3.0 installation),
    Oracle DB is 10.2.0.3/Linux + BI Publisher 10.1.3.2.1
    Is this a known limitation or a bug?
    Any hints are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Setting the APEX interactive report items

    Hi,
    I need to reset the APEX interactive report items like apex_ir_APP_USER to some value.
    I put the below jQuery code in the javascript header page it did not work:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $document.ready(function() {
    $('#apexir_APP_USER').val('NEW VALUE');
    </script
    Any suggestions ??
    Thanks

    The reason of me trying to set the apex interactive item is:
    For the interactive report, we enabled the subscription service, so that users can subscribe for the selective reports.
    So, when a user clicks the Actions button and selects the subscription option, then the couple of fields like email address, subject etc., are populated, with the default values.
    The email address field is auto populated with the user id like abc.efg.
    And, the email address field i would like to manipulate and change to [email protected]
    Now i was able to change the value of the hidden variable, apexir_APP_USER with the below code but when i select subscription option i still see the same user id populated in the
    email address field.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(function() {
    alert('test'+ $("#apexir_APP_USER").val());
    $("#apexir_APP_USER").val("Value changed");
    alert('changed value '+ $("#apexir_APP_USER").val());
    </script>
