bi:QUERY value= dynamic in the WAD. How to do it ?

Hello,
I need to define the query name somehow when the WAD is executed.
We have one common web template for all of our queries and that is why I need to dinamicaly say in the WAD code that if the query tech is ZTEST then the real value should be ZTEST_DOC, which is a separate query where we have to store the documents.
How to do this ?

During runtime you can get the query ID using text elemets, then using java script you can generate the query document format by appending ther required text to the query ID.

How to pass tag name and value dynamically in the output of PCo notification?

Hi,
I have a requirement to develop such a scenario where there can be multiple no of tags in PCo (Say 10) but there will be single notification to push the tag name when the value got changed and the changed value to MII. for any value change for any of the tag, the notification will be trigger. So As per my knowledge I have to pass the tag name and value dynamically in the "output" tab of the notification. But need your support to find out how to pass them dynamically.

Hi Suman/Jeedesh,
As per Pco notification, it will trigger whenever any of the tag value changes in Agent instance subscription items.
For above issue, My suggestion
1. Create DB table name TAGLIST with 200 tags as rows in columns (Tagname, TagValue)
2. Based on notification trigger, create a transaction and update values w.r.t TagNames in above table
3. Next time, when notification trigger with fresh value for any of the tag, cross check with existing TagName with Value and update in DB table.
4. And in the mean time, send those Tag details vie mail trigger or as per requirement
Instead of creating 200 notification, above is a just alternate way suggestion to achieve dynamic tag value change notification.

Pass values dynamically to the WHERE clause in SFAPI

We have a requirement to pass values dynamically (in the run-time of the interface) to the WHERE condition to our SFAPI query.
Eg -
SELECT person, personal_information, address_information, phone_information, email_information, employment_information, job_information, compensation_information, paycompensation_recurring, paycompensation_non_recurring, job_relation, accompanying_dependent,         global_assignment_information, direct_deposit, national_id_card, person_relation
          FROM CompoundEmployee
          WHERE last_modified_on >= to_date('LAST_RUN_DATE') AND
                       last_modified_on <= to_date('CURRENT_RUN_TIME')
LAST_RUN_DATE is stored in a custom entity for which we execute another OData query. The custom entity is updated with the CURRENT_RUN_TIME once the interface has been executed successfully. So the next time the interface is run it picks up the LAST_RUN_DATE from the custom OData entity.
SAP PO has the functionality to run a dynamic query for OData adapters. Refer to Note 2051137 - PI Successfactors adapter : Dynamic odata query and single synchronous sfapi query
Eg - select fields from position (this is what you state in OData query path in the comms channel; this is static); and you have an advanced tab in comms channel where you mention dynamicquery and set it to true (this points to a XSD which has the keyword TOP, SKIP & FILTER in it).
This gets the filter values passed from the BPM from another query (from a OData cust_table).
So the whole query is - select fields from position filter field a = x field b = y etc. Field a field b are fields in position that are you passing values x and y in run time of the interface.
SAP PO also has the advanced tab feature for SFAPI for dynamic query.
Question is -
how to use it?
has anyone implemented this before?
What does XSD will look like?
How do we pass values to the fields to the Where clause for SFAPI.
Any ideas are welcome!

After you have added a new where clause on the detail VO, try re-executing VO's query by DetailVO.executeQuery()
If it doesn't work try re-executing the MasterVO's query after you have added the where clause on the detail

Query Builder dynamicly change the request

I use VS2010 with ODT 11.2.0.1.1 and I have strange behaviour with the "Query Builder"...
When I enter this request:

The query builder add a ( + ) before the "IS NULL"

Hi Jeff,
Our engineers are looking into this. Right now, it appears this change is being done by Query Builder itself (eg there may be nothing we can do to stop it). This did not happen in VS2008.
However if you change your original query to the equivalent using the "LEFT OUTER JOIN" keywords, you can avoid this problem entirely:
For example:
From:
SELECT EMP.ENAME, EMP.JOB, EMP.MGR, DEPT.DNAME, DEPT.LOC
FROM EMP, DEPT
WHERE EMP.DEPTNO = DEPT.DEPTNO (+) AND (DEPT.DNAME IS NULL)
ORDER BY EMP.ENAME
To:
SELECT EMP.ENAME, EMP.JOB, EMP.MGR, DEPT.DNAME, DEPT.LOC
FROM EMP LEFT OUTER JOIN
DEPT ON EMP.DEPTNO = DEPT.DEPTNO
WHERE (DEPT.DNAME IS NULL)
ORDER BY EMP.ENAME
Can you try this with your query? We will follow up with MS to find out if there is anything we can do to stop Querybuilder from changing the query in VS2010.

Is it possible to set the queryname in the dataprovider using javascript.
My scenario is that I want to fetch the queryname from the URL with the following javascript

Sorry I haven't explained my goal very well.
I want to create a dynamic webtemplate w. two tabs. One tab showing data from one dataprovider and the other tab showing data from another dataprovider.
My problem is that it's easy enough to set the dataprovider to a specific query but as I have several reports which should use this template then instead of coping the template and change the query name I want a generic way to set the queryname (e.g. in the url) so I only have one template and not a template per report pair.
In short I want to set the Initial State dynamic.

jdev version -11.1.1.4
use case:- we are capturing all value entered by the user on screen and storing it in the cookie like (key,value) pair where key is id and value is value of the component keyed-in.
Later when there is browser close or transaction faliure we are retreiving back all the values from cookie on load of page.
Now the point is when the screen loads back it is not getting the component id dynamically, we are storing manually the id's of the components to retrieve the value.
But we want to read all the id of all the components dyanamically once page load and store it in javascript array variable.
Let me know if there is any method to read all the id of the page in ADF javascript.
Or any other alternative method.

Forming a report query dynamically with the value of an item

Hi Gurus,
We wanted to create a report based on the value of an item in the page.
For example
There is a text box named p1_table depending on the value of this item the query of the report should change
1) when p1_table = emp then report query should be select * from emp
2) when p1_table = dept then report query should be select * from dept
I tried doing this using
select * from :p1_table and select * from v('p1_table') , it is not working.
Kindly help me in achieving the requirement.

Hi Vikas,
You have to do this as a report based on a function that returns the query as a string. You build up the string dynamically in the function.

I have a list which contains a single or multiple values which does have CustomerVO as a generic.Here i need to iterate the list pass these values to "IN" query.
These should happen dynamically, as we dont know whether the list will hold a single or multiple value. If the list.size ==1 , then it contains a single value in it. Hence there is no need for a comma(,) in the IN query else we need to have it, like .... IN (Aaron,Bob). Please help me in this?

The procedure for that is usually something like:
1. Output the first element.
2. For any further elements:
2a. Output ","
2b. Output the element.

Hi,
To do this, first you may want to view the HTML source of the report. So, when you have the report launched with the input field, right click and select View Source. Usually it is under a <span> tag with id something like sapbi_snippet_YOURWEBITEMNAME. Most useful commands here are document.getElementById and document.getElementsByTagName.
You can also access the input web item value using standard sap command SET_SELECTION_STATE_BY_BINDING. Take a look at the documentation on this.

I want to create a report with query designe of BI 7r. is it possible. the data from the cube will be

Calculation should be - Refer the cumulative value field

An the out put of the report should be Max value ie 500 and Min Value -200.
My question is that is it possible to do in the front end ie in the Query Designer (BI 7) If so how.

Create 4 column,
1st will show regular values for the key figure,
2nd will show Cumulative value, in Query Designer, Just right click on the this 2nd key figure properties, calculation tab there you can check on Cumulated option, and define the calculation direction as Calculate along the Column.
3rd will show Minimum value , Just right click on the this 2nd key figure properties, calculation tab calculate single valuea as minimum.
4th will show Minimum value , Just right click on the this 2nd key figure properties, calculation tab calculate single valuea as Maximum.

the field in question "can grow" and can become quite big...overlaping the content of the fileds below...how can i make the fields below this large field move dyanmically so there is no overlap?

if it is the same field and it is set to can grow you just need to make sure you put space between by inserting a section below
