Binary Ldap field doesn't return an byte[]

Dear experts
I use JNDI to get information from a Siemens DirX Ldap Directory. Two of the fields I get are jpeg images. One of them is the standard jpegPhoto binary fields and the second is a user-defined binary field based on the same Syntax definition.
When I do a "attribute.get()" (attribute is an instance of javax.naming.directory.Attribute) on the jpegPhoto field, I get a "byte[]" as result. When I do the same thing on the other user-defined field, I get an empty String.
Using a non-java based LDap client works fine. Only Jndi based client causes the problem.
Could anybody help me, please ?
Thanks in advance
Christophe Bongartz

I know this is not an Active Directory question, but the sun is shining and I'm in a good mood....
Java returns some attributes that it knows to be of binary syntax as byte[], but returns all other unknown attributes as strings.
Refer to http://java.sun.com/products/jndi/tutorial/ldap/misc/attrs.html for further information.
Add the following to your app.//specify attributes to be returned in binary format
env.put("java.naming.ldap.attributes.binary","yourBinaryAttributeHere");Good luck.

  • [BUG] LOV inside AF:table doesn't return value

    Hi,
    I am using JDEV TP4.
    I have a LOV inside a af:table.
    <af:column sortProperty="LaoId" filterable="true"
    sortable="true"
    headerText="#{bindings.Packstuecke0012.hints.LaoId.label}"
    id="collaoid"

    <af:inputListOfValues id="laoIdId"
    popupTitle="Search and Select: #{bindings.Packstuecke0012.hints.LaoId.label}"
    value="#{row.bindings.LaoId.inputValue}"
    model="#{row.bindings.LaoId.listOfValuesModel}"
    required="#{bindings.Packstuecke0012.hints.LaoId.mandatory}"
    columns="#{bindings.Packstuecke0012.hints.LaoId.displayWidth}"

    </af:inputListOfValues>
    </af:column>
    After selecting a value in the LOV and leave the LOV the id in the corresponding column field doesn't change.
    Same LOV outside of table works fine.
    Any suggestions?
    regards
    Peter

    Hi,
    Ok, I try to explain the problem more detailed:
    1) I have a model driven LOV (af:inputListOfValues) within a af:table column
    2) LOV is based on view and shows the id "LagerCode"
    3) Navigate to view object in the model select "Attributes" on the left side and double-click on the attribute "LagerCode"
    4) This opens the dialog "edit Attribute: LagerCode"
    5) navigate to register "UI-Hints"
    6) And here is the important step: UNSELECT the checkbox "Query List Automatically".
    7) Run the application and open the LOV --> The LOV list is empty (because of step 6)
    8) Execute "search" in the LOV and select any value
    9) PROBLEM: No value is returned to af:inputListOfValues
    If I do the same steps with a LOV outside of af:table everything is OK.
    If I do NOT UNCHECK the checkbox "Query List Automatically" in step 6 than the LOV list is queried as soon as the LOV dialob opens. In this case the selected value from the LOV list will be returned to af:inputListOfValues.
    I hope you are able to follow my steps and you can reproduce the problem.
    regards
    Peter

  • If I barrow an image from iPhoto, that is drag it to another file or the desktop it seems to half disappear.  It still shows until I try to enlarge it then I get a triangle exclamation mark in the enlarged field, once I return to Photos or an Album it is

    If I barrow an image from iPhoto, that is drag it to another file or the desktop it seems to half disappear.  It still shows until I try to enlarge it then I get a triangle exclamation mark in the enlarged field, once I return to Photos or an Album it is there.  However it can no longer be dragged into another file.  How can I recover these images?  Is there a better way to duplicate a image to locate in outside of iPhoto?
    I never had this problem in previous versions of iPhoto.

    The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the link to the original file.
    What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
    This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • SQL Query (PL/SQL Function Body returning SQL query) doesn't return any row

    I have a region with the following type:
    SQL Query (PL/SQL Function Body returning SQL query).
    In a search screen the users can enter different numbers, separated by an ENTER.
    I want to check these numbers by replacing the ENTER, which is CHR(13) || CHR(10) I believe, with commas. And then I can use it like this: POD IN (<<text>>).
    It's something like this:
    If (:P30_POD Is Not Null) Then
    v_where := v_where || v_condition || 'POD IN (''''''''||REPLACE(''' || :P30_POD || ''', CHR(13) || CHR(10), '','')||'''''''''')';
    v_condition := ' AND ';
    End If;
    But the query doesn't return any rows.
    I tried to reproduce it in Toad:
    select * from asx_worklistitem
    where
    POD IN (''''||REPLACE('541449200000171813'||CHR(13) || CHR(10)||'541449206006341366', CHR(13) || CHR(10), ''',''')||'''')
    ==> This is the query that does't return any rows
    select (''''||REPLACE('541449200000171813'||CHR(13) || CHR(10)||'541449206006341366', CHR(13) || CHR(10), ''',''')||'''')
    from dual;
    ==> This returns '541449200000171813','541449206006341366'
    select * from asx_worklistitem
    where pod in ('541449200000171813','541449206006341366');
    ==> and when I copy/paste this in the above query, it does return my rows.
    So why does my first query doesn't work?
    Doe anyone have any idea?
    Kind regards,

    Thanks for the help.
    I made it work, but via the following code:
    If (:P30_POD Is Not Null) Then
    v_pods := REPLACE(:P30_POD, CHR(13) || CHR(10));
    v_where := v_where || v_condition || 'POD IN (';
    v_counter := 1;
    WHILE (v_counter < LENGTH(v_pods)) LOOP
    v_pod := SUBSTR(v_pods, v_counter, 18);
    IF (v_counter <> 1) THEN
    v_where := v_where || ',';
    END IF;
    v_where := v_where || '''' || v_pod || '''';
    v_counter := v_counter + 18;
    END LOOP;
    v_where := v_where || ')';
    v_condition := ' AND ';
    End If;But now I want to make an update of all the records that correspond to this search criteria. I can give in a status via a dropdownlist and that I want to update all the records that correspond to one of these POD's with that status.
    For a region you can build an SQL query via PL/SQL, but for a process you only have a PL/SQL block. Is the only way to update all these records by making a loop and make an update for every POD that is specified.
    Because I think this will have a lot of overhead.
    I would like to make something like a multi row update in an updateable report, but I want to specify the status from somewhere else. Is this possible?

  • LDAP Field Mapping in 4.6C - Using WebAS 6.10+ as an LDAP Gateway

    Dear All,
      We have a need to enable CUP Functionality (we use GRC AC 5.3) for one of our oldest R/3 systems - on 4.6C. All other R/3 backends are on 4.7+ releases, so it's a multiple backend configuration for GRC AC.
      However, LDAP Field Mapping functionality is missing in 4.6C. It was enabled through LDAPMAP in the higher releases only.
      At the same time, I discovered in one SAP HR document a diagram, which shows that indeed 4.7+ can map and post data directly to LDAP, but for 4.6C and below you can use WebAS 6.10+ as an LDAP Gateway. Meaning that 4.6C calls through RFC some functions in the higher release R/3 system to use its functions for Field Mapping and further transfer of user data to the target LDAP server.
      But... I can not find anywhere how to configure 4.7 / 6.0 servers to act as an LDAP Gateway for the older 4.6C server to bypass its limitation - absence of built-in LDAP Field Mapping functionality.
      Advice on how to realise this concept will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Laziz

    Hi,
    In order to migrate users, groups and password you have to use the command ldapaddent as you did with this sintax:
    # ldapaddent -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w secret -f /etc/group group
    # ldapaddent -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w secret -f /etc/passwd passwd
    # ldapaddent -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w secret -f /etc/shadow shadowNote that you must use passwd instead of people container.

  • IDoc Transport Acknowledge doesn't return to PI 7.0 automatically

    Hi all,
    I realized an Integration scenario in which PI 7.0 generates custom IDocs messages (like MBGMCR) and send them to a SAP system (4.6 C). In particular there are the scenario steps:
    1. BPM -> IDoc msg
    2. IDoc msg transport ACK -> BPM
    3. BPM -> JDBC updating
    When SAP receive IDocs must send back to PI the related Transport Acknoledgement in order to complete the Integration Scenario with JDBC updating.
    So I observe that, if I don't refresh IDoc messages on SXMB_MONI, the Transport ACK doesn't return back from SAP to PI and the BPM remains pending.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    GB

    Hi Gaurav,
    could you please tell me which are these parameters:
    - partner number (for the receiver)
    - partner type (for the receiver)
    - partner role  (for the receiver)
    In my scenario PI 7.0 sends IDocs to R/3 so the receiver (written in the point 3 of the link you sent me) should be R/3.
    It's right?
    I'm unable to find the Parner Role. In which transaction can I found it?
    Thanks,

  • "Add a column to show each of these additional fields: " doesn't support person feild

    "Add a column to show each of these additional fields: "  doesn't support person feild
    I've seen that its not supported in 2010 version of sharepoint but I was hoping in the last 3 years  its been fixed for the 2013
    Any idea if this will be fixed or not?

    Given that it hasn't been fixed so far, i doubt it.
    The reason it doesn't work for some columns is that they themselves  are a form of lookup column. I suspect MS have disallowed it to prevent looping, where a lookup column eventually starts trying to look up on itself. There may be other technical challenges
    to making a double hop lookup column.

  • PHP/MySQL field recognize carriage returns?

    I'm a novice PHP/MySQL database driven site builder. I need

    if you just need to replace the \n - type line breaks
    generated by multiline textareas with <br /> on a page, just
    use PHP´s native "nl2br"
    (new line to break) function:
    <?php echo nl2br($row_queryname['field_name']); ?>
    That works... sort of...
    When I use the update page to modify the entry it puts the
    proper "br" code in it's proper place. However when I return to
    that page to edit the text again (as my customer likely will), it
    displays the "br" code in the text field, and if I submit the
    update with the "br" code in place, it duplicates the "br" code
    again, so I get double "br" statements. How do I get the update
    field to read the "br" code back as carriage returns?

  • XI doesn't return an xml file

    Hi,
    I've made a scenario using XI 3.0. I use a file adapter with an inbound synchronous interface to send a xml file to XI. XI consumes a function from CRM using a RFC adapter and an outbound synchronous interface. I've setted "Best Effort" as quality of service too.
    The xml file arrives correctly to CRM and CRM returns the BAPI result to XI correctly too. The problem is XI doesn't return the xml file which it should, that's to say, the xml file sent by XI isn't in the specified target directory (using an inbound synchronous interface and a XI adapter).
    Could someone explain me what happens?
    Thanks in advance,
    Samantha.

    Hi Samantha,
    bad news: File Adapter is always asynchronous, cant get any response. And if you use an interface to send data it is an outbound interface.
    To realize your business logic you must use BPM like
    file (outbound asynchronous) -> BP (abstract asynchronous)
    BP (abstract synchronous) <-> CRM (inbound synchronous)
    BP (abstract asynchronous) -> file (inbound asynchronous)

That will reduced the effect of all the >>repetative XML furniture.yah, agreed but still not to a comfort level to proceed this technology. File size still big if compared to compressed non-XML data.
    Btw, I'm seeking for some efficient data feed product able to handle XML effectively and did some comparison with all other standard data formating mechanism of data transmission. Therefore, i can see the whole picture of it. Still trying my R&D luck on google...
