Birthdays on iPhone

Birthdays are shown on iCal under subscriptions. How do I get to show them on iPhone calendar? Everything else shows up on iPhone calendar except for birthdays. Is it because it's categorized as subscriptions on iCal? Please help. Thanks.

I had the same problem on the 32gb iPod Touch. I found a solution by downloading iCal 2 for £3 ( http://www.nhoj.co.uk/datestoical ). Once I installed it and choose my preferences I received a message "you cannot add,change etc the birthday calender" Just reboot and the msg goes away and the calender then works fine, and pushes to mobileme and my iPod Touch as normal.
remember to go to your iCal settings and turn off "show birthdays calendar" unless you want 2 views of the same calendar.

I track birthdays in iCal using the Birthdays calendar. I sync iCal to MobileMe. I then sync my iPhone with MobileMe and I display the Birthdays calendar in the iPhone all calendars view.
OK so far.
So, I have three contacts with birthdays on consecutive days in November. Let's call the Tom, Dick and Harry:
Tom's birthday is the 22nd of November, so it says in iCal.
Dick's birthday is the 23rd of November, so it says in iCal.
Harry's birthday is the 24th of November, so it says in iCal.
These are the correct birthdays! My iPhone, however, disagrees. According to it:
Tom's birthday is the 24th of November.
Dick's birthday is also the 24th of November.
Harry's birthday is the 26th of November.
It's the same all year. There seems to be no pattern to the degree of incorrectness (my Mum is made 2 months younger, which will please her no end).
What on earth is happening?

And if they're not in your contacts, obviously you can just enter them as appointments with an annual repeat. (that's how mine are, I just learned about the birthday part thanks)

No Birthdays on iPhone - MobileMe Screwed Up!!!

I need help with getting my birthdays on my iPhone. I have it enabled on my iCal and it shows on my MoblieMe account online - but NOTHING on my iphone! I discovered this after I missed my Mom's birthday Grrrrr....
I noticed that the "Birthday" calendar is listed on MoblieMe account as a subscription; and since I've signed up for MoblieMe all birthdays & anniversaries show up twice on my iCal (double).
Please send help!!

When you enable show birthdays in your ical preferences, it shows up under subscribed calendar section.

Birthdays in iPhone calendar

I'm having a problem with the native calendar app on my iPhone 4S (ios 5.0.1). Any birthdays I have entered in the contact section appear in the calendar app. That's fine, but if I put the app into "list" mode, the first bunch of entries are all the birthdays from last year.
How can I delete old birthdays? To be honest I don't really want to see birthdays that have already passed.

Hi walnutfive, I was just installing a new iPad mini for my daughter yesterday and added two contacts with birthdays to Apple's contacts app and they both appeared in the calendar app. Later I updated the iOS software to 7.1 as it had 7.0 installed when unpackaged, then this morning my daughter added a contact and birthday herself, this one subsequently did not appear in the calendar app even though the other ones were still displayed.
I fiddled around with this for a while but could not get it to work.
There is no exchange involved, just the basic Apple setup. I reckon iOS 7.1 has a bug relating to this...

I have the sync option enabled in facebook but it only managed pictures. How can I sync my friends facebook birthdays into my contacts?

go to your calendar settings on the iPhone and see if you have a choice "birthday calendar"
I didn't have to do anything to mine in order for those to show up ...

Duplicate birthdays in iphone 5

Yesterday on my iPhone 5 I noticed that any of my contacts that has a birthday the event is listed 11 times on that day as an all day event. What is really weird is they go away when I uncheck the family calendar that I share with 3 others. But they aren't in that calendar! In addition they are only listed once in iCloude.com, calendar on my Mac and the calendar on my iPad. Only on my iPhone 5 does this happen. I have tried turning my calendar off in and having it deleted from the phone but they come back when I turn it on again. I have also tried editing these events but when I hit save the app crashes. Any ideas?

I was having the same problem. After research I couldn't find anything. I decided to delete the birthday data from the contact information and set the dates on my main calendar with the "repeat yearly" option. The problem with that solution is that now, on my mac, it doesn't say Sister's 22nd Birthday. I foresaw that problem and just put the year of the birthday in the notes area of the calendar entry. It's kind of the pain doing the math, but that feature wasn't on my iPhone anyway. This worked for me, but I really wish there was a better option. If you have found anything out let me know.

Cannot see birthdays in iPhone Calendar

I have entered the birthday in some of my contacts, but I cannot see the Birthdays calendar in iPhone. Is there a way to see them or otherwise be notified of a coming birthday?

if you mean on the phone itself for apps your looking for an icon called App Store (looks like an A made out of a compass)
if you can't find the app store icon you might have it disabled... check in
Settings -> General -> Restrictions
The one you want on for apps is "Installing Apps"
if it's not disabled try a restart... sometimes the built in icons go awol when moving them around ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430 )

ICal Birthdays and iPhone

There was a thread of postings about an apparent date limit on Birthdays synching with the iPhone. It suggested that you set a birthday in the 50's then update the iPhone and then change back to the proper dates (in the 20's) and then re-sync. I could not get this to work, because as soon as I synchronised back to the proper date the birthdays disappeared.

Thanks for this. As you can see I am running 10.4.3 and therefore downloaded your previous version. Yes everything is picked up in iCal just as with birthdays (I do like the addition of anniversary dates). However, when I look at the iPhone the birthdays with far older years are not there. I am convinced there is something is going on when it hits the MobileMe Cloud that is removing these.
So I am still looking for a solution - but I think it needs an Apple fix.

Birthday entries not displaying in iPhone Calendar

I am using iPhone 3GS and having iOS 6.1.2. I am unable to see my birthdays in iPhone Calendar after updating iOS to 6.1 though all Calendar entries are checked in Calendar settings. I can see birthdays in iCloud service but not on my iPhone. Please tell me how do i see birthday entries in iPhone Calendar.

ICal adds year to my birthday

I've just checked iCal for my birthday this month, January 2015.
iCal says I'm 73 this month, one year more than is true, I was born in 1942, it should show 72.
iCal gets its birth dates from Contacts, I changed the date on my contacts card and it was immediately reflected in iCal.
Changed it back to correct date, still showed in iCal as wrong date - one year added.
Same issue on iPad 3, however birthday on iPhone 3GS is one year behind!

How do I get the Music icon back onto my iPhone 4S?

I just got an iPhone for my birthday, the iPhone 4S, and I was getting everything from my iPod to my iPhone. It worked perfectly, and I was deleting some unwanted apps. I was moving apps around, too, and when I moved one close to the bottom where Phone, Mail, Safari and Music are, the music icon disappeared! Is there anyway I can get it back?

Will "resetting" DELETE all the other non-factory stuff that I already have on my iphone 4?
While I need my "music icon", I definitely do NOT want to have to go through all the hassle of having to re-download everything I now have!
I only want my "music icon" back!

I cannnot delete the account because "find my iphone" wants the password linked to this old account. But when i go into the find my iphone app it is using my corect Apple ID. How do i fix this?

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account. You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

The birthday entries in my Outlook contacts have correct dates.How can I fix this?

The following peocess corrects the calendar entry:
edit the contact & change the birthday, save the change; edit the contact & change the birthday to the correct value, save the change again. The calendar entry then displays on the correct date. Alternatively as a temp solution I can just de-select the "birthdays" calendar which stops the icon being displayed.
Thanks for your advice, I think that it's n going to be a slow process to fix all the entries for not much return.
