BitmapData.draw is not rendering contents outside visible portion of Canvas
My application has a Canvas with a bunch of elements on it and which has a scrollbar to see the full contents of it, i.e. the Canvas has a height of 200px, but the objects contained within extend past the 200px all the way to 400px. When I pass this canvas object to my BitmapData instance which I have created with a height of 400px, the result is that I get a 400px image but only the top 200px are actually rendered. If I move the scrollbar down and call draw, I get the bottom 200px of the canvas rendered on the top half of the BitmapData.
Is there a way to render the full contents of the Canvas object and not only what is currently visible in the viewport?

It is internal, meaning it is not documented, but it should be in the rawChildren or you can access it via mx_internal. I would think if you set height=400, called validateNow() then bitmapData.draw it might work.
You could also try setting scrollRect=null.
FWIW, often folks have a print view that hooks up to the same data model.

Design View not rendering content of pages
I am the webmaster and lead developer for a state university. We have developed a responsive Dreamweaver template for our mostly non-coding users (admin assistants usually are assigned web tasks for some reason). You can see our site here http://www.wwu.edu/webtech . When we bring up pages in Design View, they cannot be edited; none of the content is visible. Live view is pretty good, but it's difficult for non-coders to edit in this window. For instance, in Design view they can just select Enter after a block of text to start a new <p>; In Live View you can modify an existing paragraph as if you were in Design View, but you cannot add elements without using the Insert tool. My non code users have no idea what the Insert menu is talking about. So my questions are:
1. First - has anyone else hit situations where Design View did not work? Here is what it looks like for the site mentioned above:
2. Any idea why design view cannot handle this page? It's a standard responsive site with media queries... I've tried stripping out complexity but cannot get it to work. It is valid HTML and passes tests.

Dreamweaver has been a wonderful tool for non-coders for many years. We developed templates for the groups, then all they had to do was put the content into the correct areas through the power of the Dreamweaver template. That is no longer possible it seems with the more complex, responsive templates. And yes, Osgood_ , it does appear that some pages will be rendered fine in Dreamweaver. Our older templates such as represented by this site: http://www.wwu.edu/bservices IS viewable and editable in Dreamweaver Design view. Those users are quite happy. However our newest responsive Dreamweaver templated sites such as http://www.wwu.edu/webtech and http://www.wuw.edu/registrar2 are not.
What I'd really love is for an adobe engineer to sit down and look at our templates and let me know if there is anything I could do to make these templates usable in Design View.
Our other alternative is to move away from static HTML and Dreamweaver and go entirely to WordPress and Drupal. I will miss Dreamweaver when this happens! I had hoped there was a place for those who did not want the complication of a Wordpress site... -
BitmapData.draw Security Sandbox and LocalTrusted not working?
Hello there, wondering if anyone else is having the same
problem -- I have a LocalTrusted security sandboxType -- and when i
try to access a BitmapData.draw method on a progressive flv, i get
the error message:
SecurityError: Error #2135: Security sandbox violation:
BitmapData.draw: file://file.swf may not access null. RTMP content
cannot be accessed using this API.
I've rechecked my sandbox type a zillion times, as well as
tried putting allow="*" in the crossdomain policy file ....
is this an error in my security settings -- or is
bitmapdata.draw on video objects now "gone"?Could you try this - Open and swf, rightClick - Goto
settings, then click Advanced. On the webPage click on "Global
Security settings panel".
If you don't find your local directory in there, add it and
see if things work?
If not, it would be good if you could post the chunk of code

Crystal reports not rendering properly and toolbar is also not visible in firefox 21.0
my application works fine in chrome and internet explorer when it comes to crystal reports but Firefox is not rendering them properly. they are disturbed and toolbar is also not visible. i am using visual studio 2008 for development and the crystal reports that come with it. it works fine on local system but have issues when deployed on online server. all my clients are facing the same problem. they have to use alternate browser for printing reports. But i would be happy if Firefox renders them correctly. Anyone can help?

Add Content button not rendered inside Portlets on edit mode
Hi,
I have a requirement where administrators will add some external content(Add content) either from taskflow or portlet and that external content (along with taskflow output) will be shown to the users based on some logic performed inside the taskflow/portlet bean code.
This PanelCustomziable should render AddContent button inside the portlet when pressing ctrl shiftE, but its no doing so? Where as the same PanelCustomizable renders AddContent button inside the taskflow on edit page? Any settings or changes needs to be done to make it work in porlet when consumed in portal?
a)taskflow cannot be selected for this purpose, as there will be only a single instance of the taskflow across the portal and it cannot retain runtime MDS changes to a specific instance (Unless we design the ADF taskflow with MDS customization layer). By default, any runtime change in one taskflow instance will be propagated to all the other taskflow instances of the portal.
(For eg.. Admin drops this taskflow onto a page1 and adds a image(external content) using the button AddContent inside the taskflow because of PanelCustomizable and close the page. He drops the same taskflow from RC only to find that the changes he done on page1 is being retained here ..its not resuable because of no MDS per instance)
So we selected Portlet for this purpose, as it has the inbuilt personalization framework. Admin can personalize each portlet instance and drops on the the same page and diff page again. But with portlets, Add Content is not rendered.
Its not just external content, the taskflow / porltet has some logic to perform and displays some output based on the ruleId which is the input parameter.

Customization - Additional column inserted in Inbox - value not rendered

I have a requirement for customizing the inbox and populating the new inbox column with additional value. I made coding updates and everything looks good but the inbox does not render the new value at all. I made these updates and overrides.
Added the column name and value in \apps\cq\workflow\components\inbox\list\json.jsp . When I go to http://localhost:4502/libs/cq/workflow/content/inbox/list.json?_dc=1358787785033&start=0&l imit=40, I am able to see the addition variable and value added and displayed in list.json. 3. The inbox/list.json shows the value lifestage correctly. But still it doesnot populate 'lifestage' value in the inbox column. If I replace the dataIndex:"lifestage" with dataIndex:"currentassignee" or any other thing, the Lifestage column in Inbox is populated with the "CurrentAssignee".
Why is the lifestage value though visible through list.json not visible in Lifestage column? What else needs to be additionally done?

As lifestage is not subpart of payloadSummary, tried both record.get("lifestage") and (record.get("payloadSummary").lifestage but still both alerts shows undefined.I see alerts for 'Inside renderlifestage' but the next alert shows 'undefined'.

I just updated my site and I discovered that the page is not rendering in IE6 (and IE5.5, but I suppose no one uses that anymore).
All I can see is the red background color.

Can anybody tell me why the page is not visible in IE6?I use a transparant png for the footer.
I did not use any frames to construct my site, made this from a one column, fixed header and footer template in dreamweaver.
The previous site was visible in IE 6.
I actually made a whole new layout, but he content stayed the same.
When I validate in dreamweaver it gives me two errors in the css file:

@pziecina : the validation errors are weird, because I have a doctype in my documents.
Could this be caused by the fact that I have domainname linked to an external site (I use the free space I got from my provider, and the domainname link is forwarded to this space). Because, when I validate the original index.html file (http://members.home.nl/justme4u/index.html) it only gives me two errors. -

I have looked all over the forums, google etc. and not found any reliable and working solution to be able to retrieve the stream bitmapdata from RTMP or HTTPDynamicStreaming source. Please find the details below.

The problem persists wherever the player.swf is placed.
Since I'm using OSMF the video display object had to be retrieved in the way like this:

The new Video part is a must because when using ( the only working http - vod setup ) the BitmapData of the DisplayObject defaults to 320x240 even though the mediaWidth and mediaHeight properties are set fine and the video itself has much higher resolution. I must note at this point its far weird and worths another post.
Seems like the player simply doesn't know anything about where and how to obtain any kind of policy information from the stream.
I think this issue must be resolved once and for all, it's simply not acceptable to have this poor documentation floating around an essential feature without any professional help involved.You don't need crossdomain policy files, you need to do the following;
1) Edit the Application.xml file in the host folder, within install directory/conf/... , edit the client tag, adding the attribute override=”yes”

In a default install of Flash Media Server, the Client class is set to prevent overriding values in the application folder. This was why the settings we were trying were not holding.
We do not need to alter anything else of the conf Application.xml
2) Add the client/access nodes to the root Application.xml within the content folder ( we have already done this as far as I am aware ).

AIR application with Flex 4.5 will not render content. What gives?

So I've upgraded to Flash Builder 4.5 Premium and I am unable to develop desktop AIR applications with the 4.5 Flex SDK. I start by simply creating a brand new AIR application using the default SDK (Flex 4.5). I set the title property on WindowedApplication and include a simple Label component. The project compiles fine but when I run the application all I see is the adl window in the dock but that's it. If I modify the Main-app.xml file to set the visible attribute to true, I will get a small window but there is no content although the output window shows the application swf being loaded. Checking the release version of the Main-app.xml file shows the correct path location to the swf.
Here is what I've tried so far:
Install/reinstall Flash Builder, 4+ times
Downloaded the trial installation twice
Downloaded the SDK's for 3.6, 4.1 and 4.5.0. I then copied each SDK folder and merged the AIR 2.6 SDK with each copy. So now I have 6 SDK versions; one pristine and the other with the AIR 2.6 SDK merged. I then added each SDK individually and created an AIR desktop application for each. Each and every one works fine with the exception of the two 4.5 SDK's. They will not render content.
I created a simple creation complete handler for the application that declares a simple variable and assigns a value to it. I then put a break point on the assignment and it never gets caught. More evidence that the swf isn't getting loaded.
The computer I'm running on is a Mac Book Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6.7. If I create a web project in each of the 6 SDK's, those will work just fine. What the heck is it with Flex 4.5 and the AIR 2.6 SDK on this machine? I have the AIR 2.6 runtime installed as well as a number of AIR applications that work just fine. I also tried my 4.5 test on my windows machine and that worked like a champ.
I am completely out of ideas. Finding information has been difficult because everyone is all about mobile so searching for desktop issues is a losing battle. I realize this is a long email but I'm desperate for help. There must be someone out there that knows more about the low level interaction between Flex 4.5/AIR 2.6 and the OS.Well, I finally found the issue, a corrupted mm.cfg file in /Library/Application Support/Macromedia. I deleted the file and then adl ran just fine.

PanelGrid with binding attribute not rendering when event on page fires
I am having a similar issue with my components not being rendered from a dynamic binding attribute as described by this post:http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=671672 but for different reason. I have combed the forum and other sources for a week now, tried numerous variations of this based on suggestions I've read for rendering dynamic components and am unable to find the problem. I would appreciate guidance as I don't know what else to do and I imagine there is something basic about the JSF flow layout or component classes I am not doing correctly.
From a high level, I have a page with two panel groups. The first contains a list of command links (like a menu) that have an actionlistener that populates a list of QueryVariable objects called filterCriteria in the backing bean based on the selection made and then calls a function to update components in the second panel. The second panelGroup contains a panelGrid with a binding attribute that constructs a dynamic set of input fields based on the content of the filterCriteria list. When I first naviagate to this page from another page, the fields are rendered properly. However, if I then select a commandLink from the menu, the panelGrid disappears and is not rendered.
I've stepped through the code in a debugger and my actionlistener is called when I select a command link. However, the binding attribute method is not called at this time, so I added a direct call to it from the action listener. I know the actionlistener is working because I've verified it in the debugger and if I navigate away and come back to the page, then the binding method is called and the new selection is reflected in a rendered panelGrid. Why is it not rendering though when I first select the commandLink and the page is updated. Also, fyi, there is an action method for the commandlinks but it returns null;
FWIW, I'm using MyFaces and Facelets in my application.

I tried your suggestion but it caused a NoSuchElementException when the page tried to render. Stepping through the code, the init function is always called after my panelGrid is constructed. I even commented out the logic to clear the children and confirmed that in the constructed page, the outputText component that binds to init is the first element on the page - right after the opening body tag. Maybe, JSF doesn't necessarily construct the page in top to bottom order? Also, the exception makes me think that this gets called too late in the lifecycle to work. Were you able to get this to work?

JSF page not rendered in Design View (JDev 11.1.2.1.0)

Recently strange behavior in JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0) begins: JSF pages in some projects are not rendered anymore. We enabled "Show Design time Messages in log" in JDev Tools/Preferences/JSP and HTML Visual editor and message

What is common to all of the projects with this issue is that we run "Remove ADF Security Configuration" which was enabled before and we implemented our custom security using phase-listener.
Any idea what is wrong here?

Edited by: Sašo C. on May 21, 2012 2:24 PMIt's a limitation, if you will, of the way JDeveloper works. It essentially runs your JSF page in order to get the rendering. At design time, the phase listener is obviously messing things up since you're not in a proper secured environment - hence the workaround to bypass your phase listener at design time.

In the weblogic portal administration console, we have configured a desktop and under which there are some portlets and one delegates book (delegates book contains portlets which are visible to the logged in users only by configuring entitlements)
The desktop URL is something like : http://10.0.1.1:7010/TTDPortalWeb/appmanager/TTDPortal/desktop
accessing this URL shows the main page contents perfectly before and after login (ie. it only shows the services which are supposed to show to the logged in user)
but if somebody accesses the below url delibrately, all the contents are shown even without login.

when i select a portlet inside the delegates book, I can see the Portlet publishing link URL as:

but when I roll mouse over the service's link on the actuall page, I see url as http://10.0.1.1:7010/TTDPortalWeb/wlp.c?__c=7d6 (also when I click the service, I takes me to this URL)
When I roll mouse over the forgot password which is at the main desktop (not inside the delegates book) it shows the correct URL which is http://10.0.1.1:7010*/TTDPortalWeb/appmanager/TTDPortal/desktop*?_nfpb=true&_windowLabel=portlet_3_1_1&portlet_3_1_1_actionOverride=%2Fttd%2Fportal%2Fpageflow%2Fuser%2Flogin%2FforgotPassword

Server Side Includes not rendering correctly in Firefox with Layers

The server side includes are not correctly rendering with layers in firefox. From my site here:-

the home_page.php content renders above a layer on the index.php page. Initially I thought this might be a Flash layer issue but the wmode is set correctly to transparent and it works fine with a normal ssi. It also works fine in Firefox without a server side include as you can see here:-

Works fine in IE and Safari, but not Firefox.
How can this be rectified?
