Blinking Circle

Hi,
I have a background with a drawn polygons. I am trying to make a circle of a particular size blink on a particular location on top of the background. Can someone please let me know how to achieve this effect ?
Thanks

Option 1:
Draw your polygons, etc to an off screen image.
When you paint, copy the contents of off-screen image, then optionally paint the circle.
That way the background (buffer) is never actually modified by the circle.
Option 2: before you paint the Circle, copy and save the area you're painting to. Paint it back when you're done.
You'll eventually have something that looks like this:
//somewhere
Image offScreenImage = createImage(getWidth(), getHeight());
paint(Graphics g)
  //maybe you need to update the offscreen image, maybe not
  if (something is different)
     Graphics2D offscreenGraphics = (Graphics2D)offScreenImage.getGraphics();
     //... paint
  //copy offscreen onto g
  g.drawImage(offScreenImage, 0, 0, null);
  //optionally paint circle onto g
}

I have the same problem.I got a blinking circle on my screen and every time this circle show up, i have to turn off my pc because don't let me do nothing. Any solution for that issue? My pc:HP ENVY Recline TouchSmart All in One - 27-k350 (ENERGY STAR)Número de modelo: J4W47AA

Hi again Andieco, It is good to hear back from you! If your computer is not freezing when you are referring to a white circle, there may be an issue with the touch screen software installed on your computer. To correct this, I suggest re-installing all of the original software and hardware drivers that first came with your computer. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8), and then update the software by Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8). If the white cursor will not stop blinking after performing the steps in the documents above, I recommend returning your system back to a previous restore point to before the issue occurred. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8).
Should the problem continue, I suggest performing a backup and recovery of your operating system. This can be done by following the steps in this resource on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), as well as Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8). This should return your system back to factory defaults.
If the issue persists, please call our technical support by clicking the link below to get the support number for your region.

• OBIEE 11g Unable to browse multiple value hierarchy for analysis.

Hi All,
We are using OBIEE 11g Value Hierarchy feature to display GL Segment Hierarchies.
-     We have set the hierarchies to be Ragged and Skipped Levels in the RPD Business Model.
-     We have dragged the hierarchies from Business Model to Presentation Layer.
-     When selecting the hierarchies during Analysis, the first hierarchy that is browsed appears correctly. The next hierarchy when browsed just hangs.
For example:
Step 1: Browse Hierarchy1 (Block). The values show correctly.
Step 2: Browse Hierarchy2 (Account). The hierarchy does not open with a blinking circle remaining forever.
Alternatively;
If we selected, Hierarchy 2(Account) first, the hierarchy shows correctly, but when selecting Hierarchy1 (Block) a blinking circle appears and remains for ever without opening the hierarchy.
The nqquery.log shows correct result. My suspicion is that the issue is on the front end presentation services/javascript side.
Is there any additional setup/configuration required to open multiple value hierarchies during analysis.
Thanks and Regards,
Sasi

I have a pretty good guess at the hanging problem, unforntunitly i have no solutions yet.
I having same type of issue, hangs when building filters on for 2nd or 3rd dim table.. I can see obiee fireing off the query to populate the dropdown by running
select distinct on and joining to the fact table and dimensions that the users usually have selecte prior to start creatinng the filters.
It is sort of like doing a intra dimension filter.. Sounds good but if user does not cut way down on number of fact rows by the time 2nd filtered column is selected the generated query to populate the drop down can run and run.
OBI SE Once and discoverer dd not do this, at least not out of the box.

• Activated AT&T Pre3, wifi now, but App Catalog doesn't work?

[copied here from Precentral post/thread: http://forums.precentral.net/hp-pre-3/303421-activated-t-pre3-wifi-now-but-app-catalog-doesnt-work.h... ]
Hey there,
Just a couple of days ago, with a borrowed AT&T SIM, I activated a GSM Pre3, creating a new profile, then when it turned off to reboot, I removed the SIM card.
My plan is to just keep it in airplane mode and use it via WiFi.
Then I went home and tried to play with the App Catalog. I can browse it, but I can't download anything from it, free or not; the download fails after trying. The download progress bar doesn't make any progress. The phone's only using wifi.
In the app menu in the App Catalog, my "Preferences & Accounts" option was grayed out.
This morning, I remembered about the email verification email that I should have gotten from HP from creating a new profile. I found it and clicked the verification link therein. I just logged into my profile via the browser, and my webOS Account Status says "Email verified".
I tried again to go into the App Catalog (less than 5 minutes after verifying my email), and the "Preferences & Accounts" menu option is still gray and unavailable. When I try to buy a paid app, it says "The action could not be completed. Try again later."
The Wifi network is fine; I've just verified by loading a page in the browser.
What could be wrong with my App Catalog access? How do I fix it?
This isn't exactly my first webOS rodeo; I've had a Pre, an unlocked Pre2 (which I did pretty much the same thing for--borrowed SIM to activate, then use as wifi-only, App Catalog access is fine), and a TouchPad (shares the profile from the Pre).
I've never come across this problem before...
-- STITCHING IN A FOLLOW-UP MESSAGE --
I've tried an old Cingular SIM (no active account on it), an old AT&T SIM (no account on it), and even a TalkMobile SIM (from the UK).
None of those made any difference in the App Catalog. Downloads always fail, and the Preferences & Accounts menu option is always gray.
I even went into the SIM Toolkit app several times, with each of the SIMs installed, and each time, the app advised that the "menu" could only be used after the phone had been on for 30 seconds. It gave me that message even after definitely waiting for longer than 30 seconds.
Perhaps troubling on a different front is that, even with the UK SIM in there, the Pre 3 didn't ask for an unlock code, which I thought it was supposed to do (as soon as it detects a non-AT&T SIM in the slot).
Anyone got any other ideas about what to try??
Post relates to: Pre 3 Manta (AT&T)
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

Hey, so I don't have much in the way of definitive answers, but I've made some progress.
Here's the story from where I last left off...
I posted most of what I'd said by that point in this thread into a post in the Palm support forums (as of right now, no responses):
http://forums.hpwebos.com/t5/webOS-Software/Activated-AT-amp-T-Pre3-wifi-now-but-App-Catalog-doesn-t...
I tried Impostah to just install from there using the app IDs for the apps in which I was interested, both free ones and paid ones. Those downloads also failed with no helpful error messages
Then I had a looooong chat with Palm tech support, starting here: http://kb.hpwebos.com/wps/portal/kb2/na/deviceselector/page_en.html#NA Palm.com : Support Phones . I chose to start the process using the "HP Veer" option. Not much useful happened in that chat, but the agent did suggest that maybe a doctoring would help.
I doctored it using the ATT Pre 3 webOS Doctor available here: WebOS Doctor Versions - WebOS Internals
I followed steps 1-12 detailed in this PreCentral thread: Global Paid App Catalog Access for new unlocked GSM Pre 2/Pre 3/Veer (using Impostah) (http://forums.precentral.net/webos-internals/281075-global-paid-app-catalog-access-new-unlocked-gsm-... )  At step 8, I did not have to set an activation country and language as that seemed to have been remembered from before (probably from the borrowed AT&T SIM I first used). At step 9, I created a new Palm Profile to use during this round of exploration. At step 12, wherein I was supposed to be able to confirm that I had paid App catalog access, I could successfully download free apps (Facebook, Skype, Clock Sync, Maps update), but paid apps still failed without making any progress. Note that this was all with an empty SIM slot.
I successfully unlocked the device. I put in an active T-Mobile SIM in there, booted it while in airplane mode, and the first screen after the HP blinking circle screen was dialpad screen asking me to enter an Unlock Code. I did, and it worked. I immediately placed a test call successfully with that SIM in into it, and the receiving phone showed that person's phone number, as it should.
I took a break from working with it, and, hours later, I just monkeyed around in Impostah a bunch more, and this is where it gets fuzzy, 'cause it was late by then. I think I spent most of my time in the Activation, App Catalog, Palm Profile, Accounts, and Backups scenes, both just viewing things and trying various things that mostly seemed to not make much difference. I also turned off the webOS automatic Backups a couple of times in that mix. I also managed to delete the Dr. Skipped Firstuse webOS account/profile from the device so that it no longer shows up in the Accounts app. But free apps still seem to download and install successfully...and I seem to be logged into my test profile. Note that I have not yet gone to step 15 of the "Global Paid App Catalog Access for new unlocked GSM Pre2/Pre 3/Veer (using Impostah)" thread, wherein you're supposed to doctor it again and activate/sign into the phone normally with. Mostly I've held off on it, because I'm afraid of losing the progress I've made so far. That and I don't have an active, data-enabled AT&T sim. My Accounts app is empty, not showing any webOS profile (it should, shouldn't it?), even though Impostah shows me signed in to my test profile.
Then, at some point, I went into the App Catalog, went into the details of a paid app (Homebrew Documentation), and tapped the "Download for $..." button. I then got a "Payment Setup" scene!!! So just now, I put in my credit card info, and I successfully downloaded the Preware Homebrew Application!
And I don't know which of my monkeying around bits actually made the difference!
So, now I've got a few main questions about how to proceed:
Is my Pre3 in some crazy intermediate state without a webOS profile really attached to it? It doesn't show any accounts in the Account app (I haven't added any email/contact/calendar/Skype/etc. accounts), but I'm concerned that it doesn't show the webOS account. The email and calendar accounts don't show any defaul accounts (should be the webOS profile, at least, I suspect).
If it is in some wacky state, do I need to doctor it to ensure that it goes into a normal state? In order, to ensure that, as step 15 in the Global Paid App Catalog thread says, "everything has been initialised correctly"? 'cause it doesn't seem like everything has been correctly initialized. But I don't like the possibility of losing the progress that I've made! Gr!
And I just found a patch that brings back the First Use app and allows you to run it...Maybe that's all I need?

• Charging My iPod: Do Not Disconnect...?

Everytime I go and charge my iPod, I get the message onscreen warning me of a low battery -- I am fine with that -- but I do not get the icon on screen with the picture of the battery with the lightning bolt through it with the message "charging" at the top of the screen.
Mine just says:
"iPod"
With a big red blinking circle with a line through it, and below that it says:
"Do Not Disconnect"
Why am I not seeing the charging icon...also it takes longer than 6hrs to fully charge the battery; I do not know if the above problem is why it's taking so long or there's a problem with the iPod.
I just bought it almost 2 weeks ago, so it is still new.
So, what is going on?!
Michael

When you charge your iPod, do you charge it from your computer or do you charge it from a wall outlet? When you charge your iPod from the computer, it takes about 4-5 hours to charge (at least mine does). However, when you charge the iPod from the AC outlet it normally takes one and a half to two hours.
If you ARE charging it form an AC outlet and it still takes five hours then you probably have a bad battery.

• Synchronizing multiple lists with each other

Hi,
here's my use case, which I am having trouble to solve properly:
In a chat application there are contacts on a roster. From each contact the user can receive messages, which are indicated with a blinking circle near the contact as long as they are unread (similar to Skype).
There are other events like chat invitations, contact requests, multi-user-chat messages.
All of them are currently maintained in separate lists, e.g. each contact and each chat room has a list of unread messages.
Now I want to display ONE "super/global" list of ALL unread messages, i.e. a list which is a accumulation of all "small" lists.
contact1 => 2 unread messages
contact2 => 3 unread messages
chatroom1 => 7 unread messages
global list => 12 unread messages.
If I remove one item from the global list it shall also be removed from the associated "small" list. And if remove an item from a small list it should also be removed from the global list.
How can I do this in the most clever way?
Another thought I had: Maybe I should only maintain the global list and let each "small" list register on that list to watch for changes. Actually the small lists are only "views" or "filtered lists" of the global one.
Things I've had in mind to look for:
FilteredList
Extractors (FXCollections.observableArrayList(new Callback<T, Observable[]>)
Bindings.bindContent
Thanks for sharing your ideas!

Turn off Facetime on iPhone or iPad. Go to Setting -> Facetime.
Turn off the one you don't want to use facetime.

• Is this a hardware problem?

I have had my Iphone 4 for a couple months now. When I updated it to ios 5.0 I didn't have any problems with it. At first, then after awhile I noticed that it started doing this really weird thing. Sometimes, I could be either using an app, or not doing anything at all and it just be on the home screen, and suddenly the screen would sort of pause and the blinking circle would show up, and maybe last 30 seconds - 1 minute, and then my lock screen asking for my passcode would pop up. I didn't think anything of it, because like I said, it was sort of random and I figure it was just something that happened sometimes, like with computers. Then recently, as in this past weekend, I noticed it was doing it more often (I was out of town and using the phone a lot more than I have in the past) and realized it was doing it more often. I had asked the guy at my AT&T store if he knew what was wrong with it, said he never heard of a phone doing that and to update to 5.0.1 and if it still did to call Apple support. So yeterday, i called Apple support and told him what was going on, he also seemed ot have no idea of this problem, told me to update to 5.0.1 and if it still did it, to call back. So I updated, it seemed to work at first but then it's been doing it again, and even more. Such as its noon as I'm writing this and I swear its done it already six times since I woke up 6-7 hours ago. That's just when I notice it. if it's plugged in, either to the computer or the wall, the way I realize its done that is because it'll beep, like when you connect it. My main question is, has anyone ever heard of, or expereinced this problem? Is it a hardware problem? Software? Update? Something I did? The phone works wll enough for what I need it for, and I'll be happy with that, as long as it keeps working (again, I've only had it two months, so I can't upgrade for a little over a year).
Is it possible that this could be a water damage result, as I may have gotten some water on the phone by accident? (Another eason I'm asking about other issues). There are no signs of corrosion or anything anywhere on the phone. So I'm just curious about any help any one could provide. thanks!

Just to update, I took my phone to AT&T (since my nearest Apple store is two hours away and before making a drive wanted to see if they could help). Two different guys looked at the phone and tried different things and both said they thought it was something in the software and it turned out the problem was something in the settings. We reset ALL settings and so far it's gone nearly 36 hours without doing it ONCE (and it was doing it like, every 10-15 minutes). so I hoping that that means its totally fixed the problem. So I'm still not sure exactly what it was, but I'm glad to know that all I had to do was push one button that saved me a two hour drive as well as $149 (if not possibly more).

• Computer won't turn on all the way

When I turn the computer on, it goes to the gray screen with the apple icon with the "blinking" circle under it. Eventually it makes a loud sound, like an airplane is going to take off, but won't go any further. Any suggestions?

Have you tried starting up using your system disk(s)?
Insert the disk and do a restart holding the C key down, then go into Utilities/Disk Utility/First Aid.
Run First Aid and repair permissions,it may sort something out.

• Touch points appear without touching it

I have a TouchSmart HP and the touch screen has the blinking circles as though someone is touching it. The circles keep blinking randomly around the screen. The touch screen seems to not be working to the touch either, but it is hard to tell if it is because it thinks someone is touching the screen already or not. I already tried calibrating it.  Really need help with this problem. Thanks

• Dropped Ipod Classic 150GB- Not working now?

Hey!
So, one day I got mad at my iPod  - being a normal 15 year old and I slammed it on the ground not thinking. The floor is tile to be exact. I stuck it back on the docking station and came back about 25 minutes later and didn't hear any music playing. I looked at the screen- no outside damage! The songs were showing "playing" and it would show on the time 0:00 and 0:00. I would skip to the next song and it would show the same thing. I reset the iPod - menu and center buttons at the same time. I got the Apple logo for about 10 minutes and then it said "restore using iTunes". So I connected my iPod to the laptop and I got this screen and it said "Do Not Disconnect" with a blinking circle with a line thru it. It shows that it is connected to my computer but not to iTunes. I tried to format the iPod using "computer" but all that happens is computer freezes. GRR! I need my iPod for dance! Is there anything in the world I can do other then buy I new iPod??
Thank you!

• HT1178 My Time Capsule is only blinking amber. My computer tried to backup but I don't know how to tell if it did in fact back up the data. How can I tell if it backed up and why doesn't the light show green?

Just purchased a Time Capsule. Had to call Comcast to disable the WIFI and have internet connection. The time capsule though blinks amber and the Airport Utility shows blinking amber light and has a red circle with the number 1 in it. After connecting, my computer tried doing a backup for the first time and it appeared that it was backing up and finished although I don't know how to check to make sure that it did backup. How do I check and shouldn't the light on the time capsule be blinking green and the airport utility show green?

TM will show it has done a backup.. Look at the info.. when was the backup completed??
If you want more details install the widget.
A1 here.
http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
The time capsule though blinks amber and the Airport Utility shows blinking amber light and has a red circle with the number 1 in it.
There is an error.. probably trivial.. firmware update, default password..
Open the airport utility and find out what the error is.
Simply click the TC and see status in the summary page.. it will list all the errors and what you should do.. fix or ignore them. ie this TC has an error.. default password.. I chose to ignore.. when I "fix" the problem the LED goes green.
Here is additional TC.. it is blinking amber with faults.
Click the fault. eg default password.
You can ignore or edit .. if you click edit it will take you to the full setup where you can change the settings.
I ignored my errors and now it is green..

• Flashing / Blinking screen on Qosmio F50

Hello,
I've a persistent problem with my F50-12L screen, suddenly the screen flashing/blinking/display brightness goes up and down suddenly (This is not dim, it happens when I'm working as well)
When I start up my laptop, everything is smooth and working fine, suddenly it start to blink/Display brightness goes up and down and blinking for seconds then it disappear and back to normal again! I'm using the latest drivers and latest 2.2 bios and OS is win7 ultimate 32bit.
I took it twice to the authorized dealer/support here in Egypt which called Toshiba El-Araby : http://toshiba.elarabygroup.com , every time they say nothing wrong with it !! I check it before leaving and everything is fine and I keep telling them it's happening all the time, it just doesn't happen in front of them(is it my fault? lol), and back to home, and test it, it may run for hours without blinking etc, but suddenly, it starts to do so again for a while and disappear, and so on...
I thought it's an issue with the adapter, It's happening also when I'm working on battery, and I tried to remove the battery and work on the adapter directly(to check if there is nothing wrong with the battery) and it happened again.
Also, I tried to change my power mode, I tried all of them: High perf, balanced & power save modes, It''s happening whatever mode I use.
* Sometimes when it happens, there is a sound hmm i dont know the source of the sound but it seems to be the fan!(not sure, weird low sound! it's like zzzzz) I tried to adjust the screen and the flashing/blinking disappears, but it doesnt help all times, is there any issue with the screen itself?
I got tired of this, and of this support agent here in Egypt as I can't drive for 2 hrs everyday for nothing usefull, and Its hard for me to leave the laptop for days every week when it happened.
Anybody faced such issues with screen being flashing/blinking like mine? Do you have ideas or suggestions regarding this? Does Toshiba provide direct email support? I coudn't find their technical support email, If so, I would appreciate providing me with it and any help is much appreciated.
Sincerely,

Macius ,
Thanks for your reply and sorry for the delay. I was unable to login to this forum and it kept saying no user name, however I've managed to login now after many tries of resetting password.
I've tried to connect it to an external monitor, not doing the same with external monitors(it doesn't blink/flash when I connect it to an external monitor) Also when it flash/blink I adjust it by my hand and it disappear and return again and so on and it's annoying.
Do you or anyone has an explanation to this please? Plus, When it flash/blink, there is a weird low sound comes along with it zzzzz
I'm planning to take it to the Toshiba agent here in Egypt on Next Sunday, But i will appreciate any inputs that can spot or clarify this issue as it may help me to explain it better to the tech support at Toshiba as they are running in a closed circle for over a year.

• Have a blinking yellow light on airport express.  Reset... Still Blinking.  What do I do?

Airport Express has blinking yellow light.  Reset.  Still blinking yellow.  All other apple products, Apple TV, Mac's connecting fine to Airport Extreme.
Had to reset AE a few months ago and have not used this airport extreme since that. Suspect is a simple fix but not doing something right.  Anyone help?

A persistent, flashing amber light indicates that any of the several potential conditions may require your attention:
The base station has not yet been configured because it is new, or the reset switch has been set.
You have selected a security configuration that is not recommended.
One of several other conditions, such as a disconnected Ethernet cable or invalid IP address has been detected.
(ref: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305101)
If you run the AirPort Utility, it will show an amber circle on the summary page next to the area(s) causing the problem. Click on this amber circle and it should provide an explanation.
