Block sensitive table via Table browser

Hello
We have implemented HCM on out existing R/3 and now we have all the sensitive data in the production.
In my production system there are some users who has SE16(data browser) and thet can dump those sensitive data from the production system.
I want to restrict those sensitive data for non HR users. Can any one guide me that how to do.I have some small idea this can be done trough authorization object.(S_TABU_DIS)
Pls provide me step by step procedure guide for this.I am totally new to SAP Basis and pls provide me the procedure doc if u have.
Thanks
Roshantha

am not a basis guy but creating an authroization object and restricint it via profile would do the trick. pls check it....u can restrict at table level only for the users and not at data level

  • Block sensitive tables with SE16

    Hi Guys,
I encounter a question recently regarding authorization of SE16 . Could someone kindly help me regarding blocking certain sensitive tables when using SE16.  Perhaps provide a link or something.
Its just blocking , say a group of users with a role that has SE16 , accessing certain sensitive tables.
Any guide or advise is very much appreciated .
    Thanks guys.

    Hi Jurg
    Thanks for the tip.
I scan through some of the forum , and manage to find something like this:
"You can check table TDDAT to find the authorization groups related to the Z-tables. Note that if a table is not maintained here it is automatically assigned group &NC&.
if you want to allow a user access to only some Z-tables then the procedure would be -
    1. create a new auth group for S_TABU_DIS via SE54.
    2. modify table TDDAT to associate the required Z-tables to the Z-auth group.
    3. create a new role with SE16 and the object S_TABU_DIS and only add the new Z-auth group in field DICBERCLS.
    4. assign the role to the concerned user. "
But what about , say i found auth group , example "SS" , which by default belongs to a table A & B , and a whole lot of other tables.  Table A which I allow users to view , but table B I don't.  What is the usual practise to separate for this scenario.  I was thinking of changing auth group for B , to example ZZ , so that the users are
not authorize to view them. But does this have any impact on anywhere else?
Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • A partition tab is needed in the schema-table browser and it's missing

After a first sight with the product, I couldn't find a partition tab in the schema-table browser.
For those having partitions it is absolutely essential.

    AddVMOption -Draptor.user.editors=fullpathofthefile(dir and name)

  • Table Browser does not 'fetch' any tables back from Database.

    Post Author: StevenL
CA Forum: Semantic Layer and Data Connectivity
When I click on 'table browser', after waiting overnight (not me, physically..), the list of modules are shown but with no tables in. If I click on a module's contents it says 'Fetching tables' for a split secind before returning nothing. If I do a refresh the modules list goes blank. I have been able to do this until very recently, my Connection, user Account (Supervisor-Designer), BO version (6.5.1, ORACLE Database 10g) etc have all not changed. The problem we have is because there is more than 20 000 tables to return when 'table browser' is clicked and this takes overnight. Other users here with same resp. can all come in next morning to a full list to choose from - except me. We're all confused. Can anyone offer suggestions to what this could be?u201D A trace file setup via sqlnet.ora revealed nothing.
Has anybody got any suggestions here or methods of finding out more information?
    Many thanks in Advance..

Well well. The good old remove and re-install has worked! Can't understand it. After simply getting the product re-installed, I opened up Designer, imported 2 differing Universes that used the LIVE Finance Database that was causing me the problems, clicked on table browser, waited approximately 60 seconds, hit escape, all tables were visible, I dragged and dropped no problem. I didnt need to reconfigure and create new BO Database Connections, replace the BoMain Key, in fact, anything. Totally mystery yet it works so Im happy!" Many thanks for all who read, helped or assisted.

  • The tables are not listed in table browser (Designer) MS SQL 2005 SP3

Database: SQL 2005 SP3, using ODBC Connection
    Database name: Test_7.6_Reporting
    Business Objects XI3.1 SP2
When I open the table browser, I see all my databases listed.
If I expand these I see three folders - Information_Schema, dbo and Sys, it doesn't show anything after i expand dbo.
I need to know how to get these tables to show.
    Please advice. Thanks!

    Hi BK,
This seems odd. All I can think of is that there may be a security issue. Maybe it doesn't register you as dbo.  Check into the possible security differences between you and a user who can see those tables under dbo.
    Thanks!

  • How to filter tables in table browser in designer

    Hello Experts,
I had a direct connection to SAP ECC database and I want to create an universe (with designer) on top of a database table. Problem is that ECC have a lot of tables and is very time consuming the selection of tables in table browser, question is:
is there a way to filter tables or to directly select a table provided I know the table name I want to work with?
note: I want to use aggregate data from logistic information tables because there is no BW system in this landscape
    thank you
Edited by: Garduño Azael on Jul 29, 2011 6:12 PM

    Hi,
You should use the external strategy function of the designer (see chapter OPTIMIZING UNIVERSES -> USING EXTERNAL STRATEGIES TO CUSTOMIZE UNIVERSE CREATION)
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/xi31_designer_en.pdf
you don't need to create a new external strategy. Designer comes with a set of "standard" external strategies.
For filtering tables use "table strategy".
In order to make it to work for your environment, check the file *.STG and see which db user is used in the delivered strategy, then, add this user to your RDBMS and set the permissions and tables you wish to select to in designer
For example in my BO installation the user is named 'USER', so I added it to my DB2 RDBMS of sapecc and added the required tables
    hope it helps

  • Query in expdp with case-sensitive table and columnname

    Hi,
I've got a problem with exporting some specific rows of a table.
The problem is a case-sensitive table and column name. I've tried this in a parfile:

    logfile=dpumpdir1:test.log
    tables="Data"
    query="Data":'"where "DataID" = 11"'
    but it ended like this:

  • 2.1 Cannot remove filter on table column on data tab of table browser

In table browser, click on the data tab. Click a column name, click a data value and then double click to filter by the data value. Data filters as expected. However, when you click on the filter icon which appears to the right of the column name, it presents you with a list which contains "Remove('<DATA VALUE>')". If you double click "Remove('<DATA VALUE>')", all rows are removed from the data tab.
Refreshing does not make the data appear. Clicking on the filter icon again, the text is changed to "Remove('Remove')". Double clicking that also has no effect on the data grid.
Work around is to right click on a column name and select "Remove All Filters".

    Ahhh, so sorry.
This has been logged as similar issue

    Hi All,
Anybody knows about How to block a table from getting populated at the time of executing a Transaction?. If i execute MM01 transaction I want to block the table MARC only from the population. Is it possible? If possible, please let me know.

    hi ,
One way is that functional guy change the configuration through which we can restrict entry in any table.
Secondly,   find an enchancemet through which u can delete particular entry before populating the table.

  • SQLDeveloper 1.5.4 Table browsing performance issue

    Hi all,
I had read of previous posts regarding SQLDeveloper 1.5.3 table browsing performance issues. I downloaded and installed version 1.5.4 and it appears the problem has gotten worse!
It takes ages to display rows of this particular table (the structure is shown below). It takes much longer to view it in Single Record format. Then attempting to Export the data is another frustrating exercise. By the way, TOAD does not seem to have this problem so I guess it is a SQLDeveloper bug.
Can someone help with any workarounds?
    Thanks

  • BOE 3.0 Designer does not show the table browser

    Hi,
I am using BOE 3.0. I was able to view the table browser a few days back. After I changed the license key, the designer stopped showing me the table browser. I am logging into Designer with Administrator previleges. Although the Administrator has "Full control", but when I click on "Insert->Tables" in designer it does not do anything, not even display the table browser. I have created Oracle client connection and tested it. The server is responding, but the insert-> tables does not work.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    SUS.

    1. When you invoke table browser using Insert->Tables do you see progress bar below the designer (task Bar)
Sus: Yes I can see the progress bar. It exists for a few seconds and then disapperas, but does not do anything.
    2. Can you try invoking Table browser by double clicking on Universe designer pane.
Sus: Yes I tried, but nothing happened. I mean I could not see the table browser
    3. Can you check if Designer can connect to your DB.
Sus: Yes the designer is able to connect to the DB. I tested the connection and got the message "Server is responding". In fact when I am using the quick design wizard I can able to see the tables from my DB.
    4. How many tables do you have in DB, IF there are lot many table then it might table time to load those tables
Sus: Currently my DB contains almost 40(20 tables and 20 views). I don't think it is concern. I worked with DB which contains more than this and that time I did not face this issue.
    5. Can you strategies tab in parameters (File->Parameters). What is the strategy for Tables. Try using built-in strategy.
Sus: Yes it is built-in for tables. It is the default one and I did not change it.
Is there a limit set to insert tables in designer?

  • Field BLOCKED in table CRMD_ISUEXTA4 and CRMV_ISU_INDEX_H

Hello, and thanks for your time.
Someone could me explain the meaning of BLOCKED in tables CRMD_ISUEXTA4 and CRMV_ISU_INDEX_H, and if there any transaction in CRM to change this???
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards

    Hello Abhishek,
Your code looks absolutely fine. I think you are missing just one line of code.
    In this section of code,
    CLEAR: ls_input_fields.
    ls_input_fields-ref_guid = ls_header_guid.
    ls_input_fields-objectname = 'ORDERADM_H'.
    ls_input_fields-field_names = lt_field.
    INSERT ls_input_fields INTO TABLE lt_input_fields.
    Replace this code with:
    CLEAR: ls_input_fields.
    ls_input_fields-ref_guid = ls_header_guid.
    ls_input_fields-objectname = 'ORDERADM_H'.
    ls_input_fields-ref_handle  = 1.
    ls_input_fields-ref_kind     = 'A'
    ls_input_fields-field_names = lt_field.
    INSERT ls_input_fields INTO TABLE lt_input_fields.
Please let me know if this code still doesnt work for you.
    Thanks
    Vishal
