Blocked Account- Registering Complaint to FTC

Dear Friends,
I noticed so many threads within the community regarding account being blocked or suspended by Skype without any reason and not refunding the amount paid for subscription. I too faced the same problem within 3 days of starting paid subscription with Skype. Upon contacting customer support via email, was informed that I violated Terms of Use, would not let me know my violation either, and did not entertain my request for refund.
It is a fraudulent business practice by Skype, especially accusing sincere customers of violations without any evidence is extremely offensive. After getting no assistance from Skype on this issue, I called up my credit card company and they assured me to refund the money paid to Skype. I also reported this issue to Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1
I am sure if we all register a complaint about such practices of Skype to FTC or consumer complaint reporting agency in your country, a proper action will be taken against Skype and also prevent other customers from such fraud.

My account was recently blocked after making a UK phone call from the USA, as I've always done. I've had Skype for over a decade and have been paying Skype World Unlimited for years.
I cancelled my Skype World account today, and am actively asking for my Skype Credit to be funded in full -- over $20 worth.
After a merry-go-round of forms, this is the email I received was simply a copy and paste:

I will be forwarding this email to Skype's management team in a carpet email and registering a complaint to the FTC.
Please list exactly what suspicious activities I have done with the account besides call phone numbers that I daily call.
Please refund me the total amount in my Skype balance and discontinue the monthly subscriptions that I am paying for.
This is a recurring issue for your users who complain about this in your forums.
You have given me nothing substantial besides a cut and paste response for the customer service merry-go-round.

    this complaint to bring to your attention the poor customer service Verizon is rendering to its wireless customers. I had the misfortune of purchasing a new cell phone with a 2yr contract with them late last year, it was a Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone which was recommended by the Verizon sales representative. Soon after getting the device I started having issues with dropped calls 3-4 times each day, I did some research and found that many other Verizon customers with this device wee having similar problems.
    I then started calling Verizon Tech support and was told that they are looking into this problem and subsequently they replaced my handset 3 times however I continued to have the dropped call issues with this phone as did other Nexus customers, this is not a signal issue because in this very house my previous Verizon device worked fine and so does my wife's cell phone(no dropped calls).
    After my third replacement also did not work I called Verizon again and was told to wait for a software update which was going to fix a software glitch I waited for this update but unfortunately even after the update the problem continued, I was in the meantime offered to exchange my Nexus for another device Razr Maxx, after everything else failed I called in to get the replacement, the Verizon customer service guy agreed to send the replacement and asked me wait for a few minute to get a confirmation number, after a few minutes he came back to say that his supervisor had taken back the replacement offer as Rzar Maxx so too expensive, after this I sent an email to Verizon Customer service (email below)
    This letter is to bring to you attention the absolute worst customer service experience I have had with Verizon Wireless over the last 6 months.
    I had called to start a new account 6 months ago and wanted to buy an I phone 4s, the customer service agent persuaded me for 30 minutes and urged me to buy the "brilliant new Samsung nexus" , I did buy this device upon his recommendation, however I do wonder now that did he or Verizon have any other motives??. Since the day I bought this phone I have had 5-6 dropped calls a day, and have been in constant touch with your tech support, I have been sent 3 different handsets(Nexus) but the problems remained, finally I was told that ICS 4.0.4 uldate is about to come and will solve this dropped call issue, or I could swap this phone for a Rzr Maxx this was offered by Miss Rachel one of your senior supervisors, I told her that I have $300.00 in Nexus accessories and will wait for the update and if it fails to fix the problem will request Maxx or Galaxy 3.
    The ICS update happened few days ago and made the problems even worse, as a result I called it to the customer service (on 06-08-12 @ 7.55pm) and asked them to send me the promised Razr Maxx, they agreed to do so took confirmed my address and 2 day shipping method for $6.99 and asked me hold for confirmation, five minutes later they turned around and said Maxx for way too expensive and they cannot honor the previous offer and will send me a Razr (non maxx), this is really as low as you can get in my opinion in terms of customer service, first you sell me a device which i never wanted, the device is riddled with problems, you promise a replacement and when time comes back track from it.
    I would really like to get a clear written explaination in this matter, if it is worth your time, you have the permission to access all my account notes.

My name is Tracey and I hope you will allow me to rectify this situation. 
    It is my goal to get you a RAZR Maxx replacement sent out tomorrow. I work at 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM tomorrow and will try calling you at 5:00 PM EST. The last thing I want is for you to feel that we habitually offer poor customer service. There are some things outside our control of course. But I feel it is my job to take care of everything that is within my control. I pride myself on providing my customers with the experience and respect you deserve. And I assure you, I will handle this issue personally. 
    I hope you can accept my apology on behalf of Verizon Wireless in the kind spirit which I offer it.     I patiently waited for the Razr Maxx to arrive the mail came today but to my amazement it was another Nexus, I called Customer service again and they said they could not do much at this time, I am completely frustrate for being provided a third grade equipment after paying a premium price for this device at their sales representative recommendation and paying $125.00 each month for 8 months for a extremely poor quality equipment which drops calls several times in a day, this problem is not isolated and the web is full of customer complaints about this device.
    I would urge FTC to kindly spare sometime and look into Verizon's poor customer service and inability to honor their written promises.

    I too have experienced this.  Purchased the phone on launch day, and since then I've experienced nothing but problems, having the phone replaced 6 times, Despite Ice Cream Sandwich being an amazing operating system, this phone is the worst piece of equipment I've ever had the displeasure of owning.  Everyone of them has a weak antennae design resulting in bad reception, dropped calls, and 4G speeds half that of every other LTE phone. plus the extraordinarily poor battery life, and bizarrely large energy consumption that causes the phone to drain faster then the AC wall outlet can charge it should be more then enough reason for Verizon to recall these things entirely. Making matters worse is the fact that they only send you refurbs, and in my experience, each one of the replacements I received only gave me new problems to deal with (defective screens that look like old newspaper photos, etc).  Ive been begging VZW to exchange it out for a Razr maxxx for 4 months and they refuse, and will only offer the regular Droid Razr.  Considering I already have 3 Samsung batteries for the Nexus (its the only way I can make it through the day and have a working powered up phone) there offer of the old Razr is in no way a solution.  It's also notorious for its poor battery life, and to make matters worse, the battery isnt removable.  At least Im able to swap in a new battery when my Nexus gets low!...
    I found a place online that pays 200 for the Nexus.  Selling it to them then probably going to use the cash to pay the early termination fee, then Im going to Spring for the unlimited data and a Galaxy S3-Im also grand fathered into the unlimited data plan, so now I cant even upgrade and get a phone I want without losing that feature and that one feature is the only reason Ive stayed with VZW at all

    As KP has pointed out, there actually aren't any anti-virus programs in the App Store. There are a few that allow you to scan e-mail or stuff like that, and a few that provide you with information about malware and new threats for other systems. But none are available that can scan your iOS device for malware, because the security restrictions in iOS do not permit any apps to have that kind of access to anything. Which means that you also cannot be infected with a virus (unless you have jailbroken your device).
    If your account got compromised, that had nothing whatsoever to do with your iPad. Someone simply hacked it remotely. Happens all the time. It's really amazing that, in this day and age, e-mail providers are so ignorant of technology and how their own systems get compromised that they would try to require you to run software that does not exist!

    The solution provided by S. Viswanatha R...  is possible, but it would be a problem for the users ( it sounds as a workaround). Maybe the user try to post the document and will not understand why they cannot post.
    The solution suggested by mr. Joshi would be more feasible, since you can define a custom message to your validation rule and the users will understand the constraints about the document type.

  • Blocked Account - So Frustrated!

    Decided to share the most frustrated experience I've ever had with any technologies - Skype service!
    It happened second time with my Skype account. But this time it's blocked at the time when I extremely needed it - holidays. My whole family lives oversees and the only convenient way to comunicate with them is Skype. Well... it was before yesterday.
    I purchased some Skype credit to call my grandmother who doesn't have a computer. In the middle of the call Skype just kicked me out of the system and to log in back I had to reset my password. I entered my email address and the system sent me an email with the recovery link which I used to reset my password. Then it said that it didn't go through and I had to enter my email again for recovery. After 3 attempts of changing my password it just completely shut down on me asking to try again in 24 hours. Seriously? I need to call back my grandmother now.
    After, 24 hours same thing happened again. So I filled out the online form for recovering my blocked account which I use second time now and this practice shows that nobody gets back to you though this method. Also after submitting a form it says that it I can expect a response within 72 hours. Is that considered a good and fast support especially if you pay money for the service?
    The worst part with the whole Skype service is if something goes wrong you will have about a week to fix it. There is no support call centre that can fix it right away when the problem occurs.
    This is so frustrating. Very dissapointed!

    I have a blocked account which was created on Skype Manager Admin, where I am a admin.
    The account has been blocked for 2 weeks now where I have sent numerous emails back and forth where I have filled out the verification form to the best of my abilities and always get the same emails back with "the account needs to be verified" message.  After over a week of templated replies I wrote a strong worded email to Jian D (Customer service) asking for other solutions to unblock the account but he/she just sends back the same templated email with the usual message.  There needs to be another way to unblock an blocked account as the verification form is just like ramming your head against a wall and a customer service rep who doesnt give a **bleep**.
    Please can I get some support from customer services that actually tries to resolve the problem and not just press send button on their canned email replies.

    But this is a problem with no phone numbers published for a major company or office. Just an offshore support # with few if any knowledgeable people on the other end.
    Check the warranty service depot in the area that do warranty work for Lenovo. There are a lot in your area. Contact then directly, dealing with a dealer gives you a lot more clout in handling service issues and if you have the repair info from before even better. I believe Data Ingretity is one in your area and is a good organization. Call !!
    Addition post added: You'll need to find out what is causing the crack. Normally a faulty assemble of the panel area or pressure from some point would have cause it again a lot sooner. Unless you rarely travel or use it portably. It will happen again if its not identified!!!!

    I need some advice on how to set up the config (in SAP Release 4.6c) to use what we call in The Netherlands "G-rekeningen".
    That is an invoice is booked into SAP (MIRO or FB60), and a part of this invoice (70%) should be paid to the vendor, and 30% should be posted to this G-account (Blocked account).
    The amounts posted to the "G-rekeningen" is used a a requirement to settle the commitments with respect to these vendors, subcontractors to the tax authorities (tax on wages).

         Photoshop Photography Program (For CS3+ customers) is the same subscription which is provided in this Black Friday offer too. So you can go ahead and use the same subscription without any issues. Please also be informed that Subscriptions doesn't have Upgrade versions, hence while installing it wouldn't prompt you to enter any previous version serial numbers.

    Just let you know about skype unbelievable behaviour with blocking 
    Accounts and numbers.
    We have skype + skype kredit for many years and call mostly one family landline number all the time -  from our main account.
    One beautifull afternoon I was sitting in my room talking ti this number as I have done for years. Without knowing this fact, my wife from another room using same account i. e same skype kredit has tried to call her family.
    Without any message / notice from skype that another person is using the account/kredit she successfully connect an begins talking - a landline number as well - so for 5 min we talk to different numbers simultaneously from same account / kredit without any alarm notice from skype and without knowing about each other    Stupid , isn' t it ? But this is only a stupid mistake evrybody can do - skype must have a solution for this - we are living in 21 century.
    But guess what happening - after 5 min simulaneoys talk - we have been thrown out from tjis account  and the account + our main landline number is blocked by skype. 
    After several hours writing mails and talking to a several skype consultants providing proof of purchasing etc - our account was unblocked. 
    But guess what - the land line number we call 80 % of our credit last years is still blocked because skype thinks that this number is used for fraudelent attempts - any attempts to explain that everything is stupud mistake was receiving automatic draft mails that skype is investigating the number. 
    WHAT WAS OUR SURPRISE TODAY WHEN WE RECEIVED MAIL FROM SKYPE THAT THIS NUMBER IS BLOCKED FOREVER AND IF WE WANT TO CALL THIS NUMBER WE NEED TO FIND ANOTHER SOLUTION !!!!!!!!!!
    Can you lmagine all this ??????
    Тhe most funny / absurd / tragic thing is that rest of our family living in different countries also can not use this landline number (80 %  of their calls are also to this number) - so all we need to change skype with some other solution - AMAZING AND UNBELIEVEBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Try to reset all Skype settings.
    Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
    If you are on the latest Skype 6.5/6.6/6.7/6.9/6.10/6.11/6.13/6.14 version, then do also this:
    Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
    Restart Skype.

    I think a new account may be the easiest way if you don't have an existing subscription or cloud files for which to keep continuity.

    Apple takes a few days to bill your credit card. By removing to information the next day Apple could not bill you therefore creating the predicament your in. Try contacting iTunes support so they can help you resolve the issue.
