Hi anyone having problems with their blog comments ?
i cannot post any comment onto the blog page not on my own page or on the page of my girlfriend.
as she is currently for 3 months in africa it's a big problem bye bye communication...
anybody any idea's ? it seems the pop up windows where you write the comment isn't functioning correctly there are some pictures missing the text is all there but if you write a comment and click on the add comment text it doesn't work.
Strange thing as it was working fine yesterday. and it hasn't been updates since then...

I just got really, really nasty with Apple Care (who wanted to charge me; I wasn't haven't it) and mobileme support.
The problem is on their end. They have finally identified the problem, and are trying to fix it. They said not to change any settings on the iweb site. They said they should have the problem fixed within 24 hours.
For right now, I've embedded a nabble mini-forum on new posts so that people can comment.

  • Comments Not Working on Website - published to non-.mac server

Hi there. I've read on a few non-apple sites of users having trouble with Comments and some other functions of their websites, built in iWeb, not working when they publish to a non-.mac server. I've built my website in iWeb, published via CyberDuck to a BlueHost server -- but now users can not post comments on my blog.
Has anyone found a way to fix this issue??
It seems incredibly pointless to even now have my own domain. I'm super close to giving up on iWeb all together because of this ridiculous issue.
    Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, blog comments are a MobileMe only feature along with the hit counter etc.
You have to publish to MobileMe if you want these features.
There are workarounds however. If you want to continue to use an iWeb blog, then you can use a third party comments feature. Take a look here http://www.intensedebate.com. It is free to set up on the site and all you then do is copy and paste the code into an html snippet on the page you want comments to appear in whatever format you want them.
Your other option is to ditch iWeb and if it is just a blog you want, use something like http://www.wordpress.com. This is free and you don't need a domain name and the blog is published on WordPress servers.
Your other option for a blog is http://www.posterous.com.
The iWeb blog system is not that good, so you might look into changing if a blog is what you want rather than a website.

  • Acrobat XI Pro "add text comment" not working

In Acrobat, my "Add Text Comment" comment feature no longer works. I am using Acrobat XI Pro on Win7.
The property "Locked" vs Make Property Default fix on these forums did not work for me.
When I click on a document to add a text comment,
    1. Acrobat creates a small square (uneditable)
    2. Acrobat adds a comment to the comments list
I am unable to type any text, nor edit the box, nor change the box's size, nor see the properties.
Any thoughts are appreciated as to how to fix this feature.
    Michael

    Hi cpa-michael,
If this issue appears in any PDF that you try to add comments to, please repair the Acrobat installation by choosing Help > Repair Acrobat Installation.
If the issue appears only in one PDF file, that PDF may be damaged and you can try Saving As to repair the document, or you can try to "refry" the PDF by printing to PDF from within Acrobat.

  • Blog Searches not working properly

I am using the blog format for part of my website. When I use search it works great, except, when you click on the link to where your result is located it takes you to a site that doesn't exist. I think this is because I am using www.dougsQCcollectibles.com as my address, but the site is actually located at the .mac address. Is there a way to get search to link to the page at the .mac address rather than the mask at my purchased domain name?

I have the same experience. I have successfully setup a personal domain forwarding but the blog search results points to a not working URL.
Looking at this URL I think the search function gives the correct URL, but the URL forwarding does not work for deep links.
    Anyone having the same problem?

  • Regex header comments not working properly

We are trying to use regex to get rid of pictures that are being attached by automated messages being sent to our help desk. We found that the regex we added
    On\s.*(\r?\n)?.*wrote:\s?\r?\n|-- |Code42
    ,along with the default regex
    On\s.*(\r?\n)?.*wrote:\s?\r?\n
    changed nothing.
The default has definitely worked before and the additions we made worked in a controlled environment. Is there something we don't know about or is this functionality not working at the moment?
    Thanks.

I am seeing the same behavior. If I delete the comment it continues to show up.
However if I put in a new comment without the [ char the search behaves correctly. I can even put in a single space and that will cause the search to fail.
So unless I'm totally missing something I have to say this is a bug.
    Sorry I don't have a solution.

  • Blog post comments not working

    Hi there,
I have a couple of sites, both set up with a blog:
    http://cyberworkshop.co.nz/blog/video-blog
    http://www.sjorakei.school.nz/blog/lorem_ipsum_dolor_3
For some reason when you add a comment to either blog post this message appears:
ERROR: An error occurred. Image verification failed. If you believe this is incorrect, please contact your system administrator or go back and re-submit the form.
I definitely had comments working on the School site at one point and I cant figure out how to correct this.
Any pointers on how to fix this would be most appreciated.
    Thanks, Ben

    Hi Ben,
For the first site, it looks like captcha is commented out on the Blog Post Detail layout: http://screencasteu.worldsecuresystems.com/Florin/2013-10-20_1259.png
On the second site, you also had a problem in the javascript on the blog post detail layout.
I've corrected the Javascript now, and you get an error message pop-up when trying to submit a comment without filling in the captcha.
    Thanks,
    Florin

  • Comments not working on blog

I have several people tell me that they can't post comment on my blog. When will iweb figure out all its kinks? Frustrating!

MobileMe live chat support is now 24/7 — see this announcement.
Problems with iWeb's blog are a recurring theme on these discussions. As an alternative, you could hyperlink from your iWeb site to a free web-based blogging service such as Posterous. Not only can you receive email alerts, but you can optionally post your blog entries (including images) via email too — as well as via their web interface. And unlike iWeb's mostly annual upgrades, the guys at Posterous constantly add new features posted (appropriately) via their own _Posterous Blog_. There's also a way to link to an external site (such as a blog) from iWeb's navigation bar.

  • Blog Comments not updating in iWeb '09

I have a photo blog site that allows comments to be made. The web site itself is working as it should. But when checking for comments using iWeb they will not update to reflect what comments have been made. There will be the blue indicator next to the post but when selected, the comments are not shown in the iWeb window. This is making monitoring comments a real hassle. Any ideas?

I don't think this is an iweb 3 exclusive problem. I'm using iweb 1.1.2 and have similar issues with communication between the users computer and Apple. Mine are with updating pages with changes on them. Pages never turn blue showing the update complete, but instead stay red after uploading the whole site. So every time the program thinks it has to update every page on the site which takes forever. It started up around February 09. Apple told me this was a problem on their end communicating back to your computer letting it know the update has been made. Your problem sounds like it might also be coming from Apple. It's been 2 months now and still no fix. I'm betting that Apple supporting .mac and mobileme at the same time has something to do with the problem. The mobileme people will probably get a fix when they officially dump .mac in July because you're the new program on the block where I don't know what will happen to us old .mac people. Maybe a free update to version 1.1.2 that will make it compatible with mobileme instead of .mac?
    Na, probably not.

  • Iweb comments not working

I've posted student work to a blog page. Now I want students to be able to comment on each other's work, but when we click comment we get an error message. I did go in to each post and click on allow comments in the inspector, but that has not helped. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Do you have a domain name for your site? If so then do as the document says andI make sure you're running the latest update for iWeb, iWeb 2.0.4 . That should shake itself out. Also do a Publish All to MobileMe.
I don't have a blog page so don't know much more than what the Apple doc says.

  • Checking for new comments not working

A little while back I wrote in about how to know when people had written comments on my blog entries. The reply was helpful, in telling me that iWeb puts a red label on the app icon in the dock when you have unread comments; just like MAIL does. HOWEVER, when you open the app, and click on File>Check for new comments, nothing happens - I've tried it on all three levels, the archives, the entries, and main page, AND the site, but nothing shows up. Any ideas what to do next? Using latest iWeb version, too. I know I can use a free blog site and redirect but I'd like not to have to do that if possible. And the other suggestion, writing a script, was a bit daunting time-wise for me when I checked on what that required...
    Thanks!

I seem to have gotten my iWeb out of "checking for new comments". I went to File > "publish all to .mac" After it was done publishing all my sites to .mac, I restarted the program, and it finally finished checking for new comments. (It did take a while to finish though) I am not sure why this worked, but it did. I hope this helps.

  • Blog Address not working in the RSS Widget

I just updated to iWeb '09 and am trying to put my blog address into my website using the RSS Widget. However, it seems that the widget won't accept the address saying "The RSS feed source can't be reached" Am I missing something?

Throwing my hat in on this one today as well. Worked fine yesterday, this morning nothing. As you noted i can paste to the calculator widget but not back out from it. Have repaired permissions and trashed the dashboard prefs to no avail. Other widgets are still able to Copy & Paste without issue - seems constrained to Calculator itself.
