Blog Site - Give View Only Users ability to create a post.

I am created a blog site which should function much like this site. Where a user is logged in, can read the blog posts, create their ownpost but that is all they are allowed to do. I'm trying to take away manage posts, manage comments, manage
categories functionality. I have tried creating my own permission level however it does not seem to get as granular as I need (they could add their post, their comments and categories), I have tried creating a new blog post page but it picked up on the
same permissions. I also tried creating a link to newpost.aspx and it was still blocked. Any idea how to have a blog membership group have view and add post and comments only?

Answered my own question while I was writing this. I stopped inheriting permissions on the categories list and set the group to read only.

Would like to know whats the difference between view only and read permission.
As per my requirement, my end users who have been assigned View Only should NOT be able to Download the document from a doc lib.Whereas who have Read permissions should be able to download.
But when i tested with few users with these permissions, those users who are having viewonly permissions was able to download the documents.
how this will be true? MS says that this is not possible if it contains server side handlers.
my customer worried about the download-the-document part. as per them end users who have view only permissions should not download the docs.

Giving W7 Users Ability to Create Desktop Shortcuts etc.

Hi, my employers (UK NHS Trust) are finally rolling out W7 on clients to replace XP.
So I asked ourIT to uprage my laptop OS, which the did. However on first use I found none of my keyboard shortcust where working and I was unable to create new one :-)
SO I asked them to reapply my existing privileges to my new OS. They said they couldn't because of IG issues and I had to submit a business case form to our Information Governance team <sigh>
Question: can a W7 end user be granted the ability to created keyboard shortcuts without having to grant s/he (me) full PC admin rights?

Is that user a local user? Based on my experience, you need to create a group policy MSC file for that user and apply Local Group Policies to that specific user. More detailed information, please refer to the link below:

After that, open this MSC file, expand User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, and Windows Explorer. In the right pane, double-click on "Turn off Windows + X hotkeys" to edit it, and then select Disabled, click OK and then restart
the computer to apply.

Ability to create a poster of 650cm

Hi guys,
first of all... I apologize for my english; than...
I have to create a poster of 650x90cm but it seems Adobe Illustrator allows a maximun dimension of 577.95cm.
Do you know a way to work around that problem?
Or, alternatively, another program to use with a big poster, as I have to do? I bought licence for Adobe CC, so that I can use all the programs included in the suite

The Work Area is limited to the equivalent of 16,384 points.
You may work at a scale that is easy, such as 1:10, corresponding to mm instead of cm.
Remember to use reversely scaled resolution for raster effects (Effect>Document Raster effect Settings) and raster images, in other words 10 times the desired final resolution (in PPI).

View Only In Remote Control

I want give view only permission to a help desk for only view on all computers but i want use remote control with full control premission to all computers.
is it possible by policy or every way?

It's not possible via a ConfigMgr client policy, because the Remote Tools settings are device settings and not user settings. So you can only configure on a device level what access level the connecting user will have.

View-only access to Catalyst 2960/2960S device manager

I have noticed that when I access the (Web-based) device manager on a Catalyst 2960 or 2960S switch, the authentication prompt (from within IE, at least) includes the phrase, "The server <switch-hostname> at level_15_or_view_access requires a username and password." This would seem to imply that it's possible to configure view-only (a.k.a. read-only) access to the device manager, which would be perfect for first-level support personnel (in our environment). I reviewed the information on how to configure local authentication for the Web server (leveraging "ip http authentication local" among other commands), but the examples are a bit too broad for me understand how to specifically (and only) allow someone coming in via HTTP(S) to gain read-only access to the device manager. (Command line access should be denied entirely for the view-only user, if possible, or at least limited to commands that can't modify the switch's configuration.) Assuming this is possible, could someone cite the command sequence required?

How can I view only my stacked images?

I batch process my stacks of bracketed files. However, they are usually intermingled with plenty of non-bracketed single shots. I am looking for a more elegant way to view ONLY the stack I created?
Despite surfacing in the forums over the last few years there seems to be no solution other than to label all your stacks with colors or keywords, etc. then filtering.
Does anyone have a better way yet???
If not ADOBE: please put this on the list of enhancements. With all the people using HDR this seems like a logical feature now.

No, that view (that I've always found rather annoying, myself) isn't available. But zooming in and out in Edit View is easily and rapidly achieved by more than one method, and once you've got used to it you'll not particularly want to go back, I suspect. I seem to recall as well from the OWB Admin class that existing objects in the repository would need to have the security updated if the additional restricted roles are created after tables/mappings/etc. so that they reflect the new security model.
Also, for individual logins to OWB, each developer would require a separate database login.

I have a problem with a number of employees using unauthorized and dangerous websites that have put my business computers at risk.
Since it is impossible to police the employees viewing habits in real time, I need to restrict the viewing. How do I set up a list of only allowed sites that can only be overridden by admin privileges despite user accounts?

From my experience, we can only search the result which we have view permission at least.
Please provide more information about your requirement if there is misunderstanding.

The user you are running with Visual Studio should have read permission on the pages of SharePoint web you are trying to deploying your app.
I suggest you add the login user to the SharePoint web in the “Site Settings”->”People and Group”.

The Client Side Rendering(CSR) may not be able to meet your requirement as the “Comment” button is not a field in the Post.aspx page, it just work as a button that when we click
on it, the TextBox “Add a comment” will be focused for waiting user input.
A workaround is that we can just apply JavaScript to this page to add elements you want behind the “Comment” button.
