Blue cast with connected cameras

When ever I use either my internal iSight camera OR a Firewire connected camera as a webcam I get a blue monochrome image. Using the iSight for one of the iLife apps it works fine. I have posted here because I'm under the impression that it is Quicktime that configures cameras in the Mac OS, but I can find no way of altering the way QT is intergrating with websites and controlling the video. I can move the same Firewire camera to my G4 laptop running the same OS (10.4.8) and have no problems on the same website, so it is a problem with the Intel based iMac somewhere.
Intel iMac 24"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't believe it to be an iSight issue as the problem occurs with ANY camera hooked to that computer and used as a webcam. The same caneras work fine on another computer.

Have you tried asking at the Nikon forums before accusing Apple. I know it's frustrating, but perhaps the camera is not compatable with Lion, perhaps there is an update at Nikon which will solve the issue. I have a Panasonic and my wife has a Canon and we have had no issues attaching camera directly to our Macs and transfering photos into iPhoto.

  • What is causing all of my Images to import with a blue cast?

All of my images are now importing into Lightroom3 and Photoshop CS5 with a blue cast. I have reformatted the SD card, tried with other SD cards, re-calibrated my monitor with X-Rite colorometer, changed monitors, tried with another camera, changed card readers. The images appear as shot in Bridge, but when opened they come in with the blue cast.  The same images import properly on my laptop.  I'm shooting sRGB in camera and have tried a number of different shots, so artificail lighting is not the issue.  All images that are already on my hard drive import properly.  I was working in LR when this occurred, so, I think I must have inadvertently mades some alteration to the settings while working in LR.  However, opening PS separately and bringing an image in independent of Lightroom has the same result.  Images appear as shot in Adobe Bridge, then open with the blue cast.  Thanks for any assistance.

    Curt Y:
Thanks.  In camera I still shoot DNG and I shoot nothing but RAW. Is there something in LR and/or PS that I have done to make that change, and if so, how would I correct that.  I feel pretty sure it is something I did while importing into LR on my desktop, since I can open the images on the Laptop without any trouble.

  • Issue with camera it says "there is no connected camera" in may macbook pro

issue with camera it says "there is no connected camera" in may macbook pro

I got that error from PhotoBooth, no connected camera.
After messing around with all the usual suggestions (reset PRAM, repair permissions, etc.), I tried plugging in an external USB camera (happened to be a ProScope) and - for no apparent reason - the internal iSight camera sprang to life and has been working fine ever since.
Worth a try - any USB camera should do it.

  • Using Video CAMERA with Connect pro

We reciently purchased this product and were told that it
would work with video cameras. We have a Panasonic that we are
using with vista. this camera works with Premiere Pro, and there is
nothing wrong with it. I know that Connect is not software based it
is an Internet Application. How ever i know that the OS (vista)
"sees" the camera because it works with other programs. Sorry i am
    connecting with IEEE not USB
Has anyone out there in the world has success with getting a
video camera using IEEE connection to work fully. Audio and Video
    coming through the camera?
Is anyon aware of drivers for either the camera or the IEEE?
And if the Connect product does not support this... WTF?
    thanks

Connect does work with IEEE1394 Firewire Cams, just not with
all Firewire Cams. (USB cams also are not all working).
I would suggest to first try out the cam from different
machines with different OSs (Vista might well be the sole issue
here), also try if you can get an ordinary USB cam to work.
If all fails, you can workaround that using a virtual camera
driver, piping the firewire cam into the virtual cam and in Connect
you can load the virtual cam with the image of the Firewire cam.
Not a nice way round, but it would work.
If you google for "Adobe Connect camera compatibility matrix"
you get a "slightly" outdated list of supported cameras.

See this article: iPad: Using the iPad Camera Connection Kit
No, this canot be done, afaik. When your camera or card is connected, you will see the thumbnails in the camera pane, but not full size preview. So to browse your photos on the iPad you will need to import them to your camera roll. But you need not delete them from the camera or card after importing, so you might simply import selected photos to your camera roll from the camera grid and then delete them again from the camera roll after importing and browsing, without removing them from the card/camera.

  • Pro9000 Prints with Heavy Blue Cast

    Hello all!
I have several Canon Pro9000 and Pro9000 Mark II printers. The Pro9000 Mark II printers are doing great. However, the Pro9000 printer is printing photos with a heavy blue cast to them. The blue is so heavy and so bad that any photo printed with it is destroyed.
I have tried printing both from Photoshop and from other programs, including straight from Window's photo viewer. When printing from Photoshop, I have tried both letting Photoshop manage colors and the printer manage colors. When Photoshop is managing colors, I've turn color management off for the printer (set it to None). I've made sure I have the proper paper selected, etc. It does not matter what I do, the Pro9000 still prints with a heavy blue cast.
I've tried switching from Auto to Manual in an attempt to reduce the blue. But even if I have the first slider (labeled Cyan) slid all the way to the red side and the third slider (labeled Yellow) slid all the way over to yellow, I am still getting a heavy blue, but now the images are too red and too yellow, etc.
What can I do to figure out what is going on with this printer? It used to print properly, so I am not sure what changed. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    PS - I am running Windows 8.1, 64-bit.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I don't have any 9500's. I have two Pro9000's and four Pro9000 Mark II's. The Mark II's all print fine from the same computer(s). Both of the Pro9000's (non-Mark II) are printing with the heavy blue tint.
The monitor being right should not be an issue here. After all, what I see is what I get with the Pro9000 Mark II's.
I've tried both letting Photoshop handle all the color profiling and letting the printer do it. I get the same blue tinting. Just FYI - I cannot always use Photoshop to print. I do event photos where I am using a Hot Folder for printing. In cases like this, Photoshop is not even running. That's when I need the printer to handle color profiling (the hot folder software I currently use has not control over this). Again, this works fine with the Pro9000 Mark II's.
I've played with numerous settings and nothing is removing the blue tinting. I thought it might be the print heads, but the check nozzle pattern looks like it is printing just fine. This is why I am confused.

  • Wifi connection AirPort Extreme with IP-camera

I can't establish wifi connection Airport Extreme with IP-camera. At the same time cable connection is fine, but wifi not.
    Please, give me an advise.

You need to create a wireless network on the AirPort Extreme, and then you probably will want to assign a compatible static LAN IP address to the camera so that you can port-forward from the router to the camera.

  • What cameras  are compatible with the camera connection kit

what cameras are compatible with the camera connection kit and ipad2

I also recently bought the camera kit and found that it worked fine as long as you don't format the SD card using PC. Once I re-formatted using my camera I could once again upload my photos. that was until I switched formats to Adobe RAW, it seemed unable to upload again. So I switched to S RAW and that worked fine. Sometimes my kit won't upload photos but I find that by just re-inserting the card it works fine.
Haven't tried video yet, but I recently learned that the devices are quit sensitive to the "Format"(that needs to be FAT32, or exFAT- but in this instance it needs to be formatted by a Mac).

  • Need help with foscam cameras connecting to AirPort Extreme N

    Greetings,
I could really use some help from the AirPort gurus! I have an AirPort Extreme N base station, with firmware 7.4.2. I purchased a couple of Foscam FI8908W pan and tilt cameras. I am trying to get them to work on my home network, but cannot figure it out. Personally I think it might have something to do with port forwarding, but hec I just don't know. I have tried searching for answers, but came up empty. Here is a copy of the manual for anyone if interested <http://idisk.mac.com/wheelchairguy-Public>. I have been using VMware with XP to try and setup the camera, but the camera is not found with the IP Cam setup software. I thought I might be able to directly connect to my computer with an Ethernet cable, but no go there either. Also no go with an ethernet cable plugged to the camera into the base station. I just have no idea where or what I am doing wrong. If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi OneCog,
We're also have broadband connected to TimeWarner. When I first got the camera I tried the same thing and had the same problem. I never read the docs and assume plug and play. So I just plugged the ethernet cable from my laptop to the camera directly and of course my laptop was connected wirelessly to the internet. It doesn't work that easily and don't worry about the cable modem, you never have to touch it's settings.
I went to the http://foscam.us website and found these instructions that actually worked:
    Foscam IP Camera Instructions
    Software Insallation:
Install from the Cd the IPCamSetup.exe file OR
Or download the IPcamsetup.exe file from the website Foscam.us
    a) Go to the website Foscam.us
