What is causing all of my Images to import with a blue cast?
All of my images are now importing into Lightroom3 and Photoshop CS5 with a blue cast. I have reformatted the SD card, tried with other SD cards, re-calibrated my monitor with X-Rite colorometer, changed monitors, tried with another camera, changed card readers. The images appear as shot in Bridge, but when opened they come in with the blue cast. The same images import properly on my laptop. I'm shooting sRGB in camera and have tried a number of different shots, so artificail lighting is not the issue. All images that are already on my hard drive import properly. I was working in LR when this occurred, so, I think I must have inadvertently mades some alteration to the settings while working in LR. However, opening PS separately and bringing an image in independent of Lightroom has the same result. Images appear as shot in Adobe Bridge, then open with the blue cast. Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks. In camera I still shoot DNG and I shoot nothing but RAW. Is there something in LR and/or PS that I have done to make that change, and if so, how would I correct that. I feel pretty sure it is something I did while importing into LR on my desktop, since I can open the images on the Laptop without any trouble.

What could cause this strange double-image distortion?
I pretty much ruined half my shots at this recent event and I'm not sure how (I suspect operator error). The lens details are on the screenshots and the camera used was a Nikon D4, center weighted metering, shutter priority. The shutter was in rapid fire mode. The first print screen shows most of the frame with the main subject (the black dog & handler) having good focus and clarity.
The problem is just outside the depth of field as seen in the 2nd capture. In the below zoom it is easy to see the distortion I am talking about. Notice that just outside the depth of field under the dog's belly is what appears to be a "smear zone". Notice the double-blur of the string and the blades of grass. A little further and the blur becomes "normal". This is really unsightly, and I have no idea what's causing it:
It looks like motion blur, but that cannot be since the dog is not blurred and the shutter speed is high. This subject matter is fast moving and hard to focus on but thats not the problem here. I expect to see a gradual blurring away from the focus plane, not this "zone" of double image. This is one of my better lenses so I cannot imagine it is the problem. I've shot this lens with a lot of other subject matter and not seen this problem. It has no VBR so that cannot be malfunctioning. I note that it was very hot and humid that day in PA (heat distortion?). This is obviously baked into the photo (uncorrectable in Lightroom) and all I can do is try to figure out what it is so I can avoid it in the future.
Any speculation anyone can come up with would be very welcome, --not only am I out of theories, I cannot duplicate this at will. Attempts to duplicate the problem in similar sunny conditions have failed. My first instinct is to call it diffraction distortion --but not at f/4 with that quality of lens! And if that were the case it would be repeatable. If someone can at least give me some possible keywords, I can do my own research. Thank you in advance!Thanks for the input. I was finally able to find some test conditions that duplicated the problem, and it is either that or some other out-of-spec diffraction distortion. So I sent it off for repair.

What is causing day old notifications to repeat along with new notifications?
About a year ago my Instagram began repeating a old notification, it repeated along with a new notification. It was never consistent, it stopped then started, went on for a couple hours or sometimes all day. Nothing that I was doing caused or stopped the notifications. The notification was different everyday. I have screenshots. I googled around, all I could gather was that very few people were coming forward with similar problems and little information about what was causing it was available. I was using my iPod 5th gen. I signed into my account on my husbands phone and watched for repeat notifications but it never happened once. I made a new account with Instagram thinking my account may have been hacked. But it never stopped.
I called apple, my iPod still being under warranty I had a free call or something. I blabbed away, happy to tell someone who would perhaps help me. Only to get cut off 5 minutes in getting no help whatsoever. I never called back. I upgraded with my cable/internet company and had a new modem or router ( unsure what the difference is) delivered. It was over a week before the notifications began again. I called again and had my modem reset but It continued.
Meanwhile, I had noticed a lag in the response time while typing, I'm trying to say that I could type entire sentences before my iPod would catch up.This is when I started watching my crash logs, looking for anything that might help me understand why this was happening. That's when I found "Bad magic", a mysterious process(?). A google search brought up nada. I posted on a developer forum asking "What is Bad magic" and I was told by one person that he'd never heard tell of it and to report it to the bug reporter. I never did, because I don't know how. I have screenshots. But I don't know how to load them. Here is a piece of one of the logs. Listed under ExcResource_MobileSafari.

Today the repeat notification started on my 5s., but only with Instagram . have no idea why. I downloaded a process viewer but nothing stands out to me. Rename Images on Import with Orig. Camera Number Plus My Custom Text
Lightroom starts up with the insertion of a camera card to import new images. Every effort takes multiple stumbling around and eventually have gotten it to use the Original Camera Number. Thought it was saved as a Template. Then the next time it still goes back to using a Sequence Number "IMG_001". It does this even with the built in Templates. What LR says and what Actually is done Do NOT Match Up!! And I have been all over the web watching various videos and followed the video steps Still is not doing what it says should happen. VERY Frustrated.
Trying to find a Community for Lightroom - can't even find that!When I open the import window the *Aperture Library* brick shows Destination as New Project and *Project Name* as Untitled Project. If I import with these settings a new project *Untitled Project* is created and the images import into it.
If I enter a new name in the *Project Name* box then the imports go into a project with that name.

After downloading firmware for airport utility last night, airport express base station was deleted from airport utility and only Time Capsule remains. When I plug in the base station, an amber light blinks without being able to verify the cause. Any suggestions to remedy this problem?
There are only a couple of things you can do to resuscitate a nonresponsive Express:
"Hard reset":
Press and hold the reset button with a pen or pencil until you see the status light (LED) start to flash amber rapidly, which should occur after about five seconds.
If that does not work,
"Factory defaults reset":
Unplug the Express from power.
Press and hold the reset button with a pen or pencil, then plug the Express back in while continuing to hold the button until you see the light (LED) flash rapidly. This should happen after a few seconds.
Release the button.
In either case you will have to reconfigure the Express as a new device. A moment or two after it has been reset, the LED should be blinking slowly. It must then appear in your Wi-Fi menu like this:
Earlier versions of OS X will report it as "Apple Network nnnnnn".
In either case, select it, and then launch AirPort Utility.
If it does no appear in your Wi-Fi menu after it has been reset using one of the two techniques above, it is defective. Other than attempting another reset, there is nothing you can do. -

What would cause iMovie 10 to fail to import a QuickTime clip?
As I've been editing several clips that were downloaded from SD card as QuickTime clips, all of a sudden iMovie 10 won't import one of the clips. The import process goes through the motions, but when I click on IMPORT, it acts as if it only takes a second to finish and then the new event name is there but there is no footage. Any idea why this would happen? What I've done is:
1. Attempt to re-import the clip several times
2. Restart iMovie
3. Restart Computer
4. Place Clip in another location and import from there
5. Check all info on said clip to see if there is something wrong with it.
6. Save event to a different hard drive.
7. Move imported clip instead of copy it.
8. Probably a couple of other things I can't remember at the moment.

What is causing software "hangup" and inability to print with Firefox 20.0 on Win7-64 Bit for PC?
Just updated Firefox with Ver.20.0 on a PC running Win7-64 Bit. Since doing this, Firefox seems on occasion to be slow/unresponsive requiring multiple clicks on a button to perform function. More of an issue is the fact that frequently get a message that document will not print since there is no access to printer. After exiting Firefox and then trying to restart program, get a message that Firefox is still running and either shutdown or reboot computer (which does seem to work). Have the same issue with a second PC running WinXP. Printer works fine with other programs, ISPs, etc.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

What is causing horizontal lines in photos after syncing with iPhoto?
I have the iphone4s and iphoto11 on a MacBook Pro. All of my photos look fine on the MacBook but when I sync it with the Iphone and then look at them on the iphone many of them have horizontal lines in part or all of them. I have repaired the database and rebuilt the thumbnails and deleted the photos on the iphone and re-synced it but the lines all still there. Anybody have any ideas?

Try cleaning the printhead up to 3 times. To do this, press the "wrench" icon on the control screen of the printer, select Tools / Clean Printhead. Did that help?

Ios8 is causing all my tv's to scramble with bars
very wierd.
Got ios8 on my ipad and iphone last night. This morning i was watching TV in the kitchen and the tv just scrammbled and mad an awful noise. both iphone and ipad were in the kitchen.
this evening, i had just my ipad upstars watching a different tv with the kids and the same happened???? all the time.
i was on safari, doing normal stuff.
This is definatley something to do with ios8 as never had anthing like this before. something to do with wifi/BT??
Both tv's do have magic eye on to control Sky TV but not tried disconnecting yet to see if thats it.

All of a sudden my MacBook Pro (Granted it is an old computer) started having a red cast to the display. All shading and shadows are red now. Up until yesterday, I never had any problems with the display. Is it just getting too old? Computer works fine otherwise.

How do you stop adjustments to the image when importing pictures?
When I import pictures into Lightroom 1.1 they all automatically get adjusted to be much brighter. How do I stop this? The DEVELOP SETTINGS DIALOG in the IMPORT PHOTOS pop up box is set to NONE. I don't think it's a color management issue as the images are imported with a normal brightness/color balance and then get their settings changed one by one. Opening an image in Photoshop CS3 with the EDIT A COPY WITH LIGHTROOM ADJUSTMENTS radio selected opens up the modified brightened image. Opening that same image in Photoshop CS3 with the EDIT ORIGINAL radio selected opens a normal image with correct brightness/color balance.
This is driving me mad! I don't want these adjustments. Please help!It's not turned on by default, that I know of. Somehow, yours got that way.
As to where it's located, I would like the preferences to be distributed around the application rather than concentrated in one place. I agree with you that this one should be in the import dialog.
