Blue line down center of iPad air screen

I purchased the new iPad air on Thursday (07.11.2013) . I was thoroughly impressed and excited upon receiving my first iPad only to find 3 days later while scrolling through Facebook a sharp blue line appeared straight down the center of the screen. I thought this May have been caused by the Facebook app and been just a glitch so I turned it off and back on again only to find it was still there and present on every screen even the apple startup screen. I have tried resetting the device but still with no prevail. I have rung the company I purchased it from and they are happy to replace the iPad, however, I am still very angry and annoyed that a company that charges such ridiculous prices for its "high quality" products suffers from such basic faults. I would have though that with 4 predecessors apple may have been able to work out all of its kinks/faults by now!
I was wondering whether  anyone else had experienced this issue and whether they know what exactly causes it and if they managed to resolve it  or if you've just replaced it?
P.s. The. iPad had not suffered from any previous impact nor been damaged or tampered with.
Any comments greatly appreciated!
iPad air 16GB wifi edition

I went to authorized reseller in Wellington, New Zealand.  And they said that they would look at it and in 2-3 working days it will be resolved. They need the 2-3 days to verify its not a software fault or had water damage or had been dropped.  In my case it is definitely not the case of software fault or damage.  So in all likelihood I will get a new replacement after 3 working days.  They told me to keep it over the weekend and go back on Monday (its Friday here), and by Wednesday.  Thank Heavens for Apple international warranty, I'm so thrilled by this level of service.
I did do the restore to factory settings to make sure this blue line was not a software glitch turns out I have had this fault for 1 week.  It is strange that this did not manifest until it was 2 months old.  Again as previous owners have said its been hardly used.
Thank you for the Support!!

  • Blue line down screen center

So I'm sitting on my computer at the kitchen table, and my T60 suddenly develops a thin blue line down the center of the screen. At first it only sporadically appears, but now it hasn't gone away for a couple days. The thin blue line is right smack down the center - it doesn't really show up when you're working with something a white background like Microsoft Word, it only shows up on a colored background like pictures, video, etc. Any idea what the problem is here and how I can fix it?
My laptop is still under warranty and isn't that old and I take good care of it so I don't expect that the screen is seriously messed up. I'm hoping I just need to reset something.
Also, lately (last month or two?) my laptop has been getting a bit hotter than usual, especially when it's working a little harder, like if I play a video etc. The fan can get quite loud. Would this be at all related?

It is most likely a connection or cable problem. Do you have an external monitor that you can check this problem on? To see whether the same appears on the external monitor, if that is the case, then your GPU is probably the culprit.
Your laptop is running hot, probably due to dusts clogging your heat exhaust, so you would need to take off your keyboard and palmrest, and give a good clean with some compressed air.

My iPhone 4 has blue lines down the screen which occasionally change colour. I've tried resetting it and restoring the settings but it is continuing to do this. please help....

To rule out a software issue, set it back to factory settings without using the latest backup.

    Hi RWD2,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
To resolve your issue with Facetime freezing when you end a call, I would try the first three steps in the article below.
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3281
    Resolution
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If you are using Wi-Fi, it may be helpful to try these troubleshooting steps as well:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398?viewlocale=en_US
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

  • IPad air screen not displaying correctly

My iPad Air screen has recently started displaying with a pink hue in two of the corners, showing as a medium sized oval in one corner and a small circle in the other. There are also some vertical pink streaks that are less marked. It's really noticeable when the screen is displaying a white background. The only recent changes I have made is downloading the new IOS 8 update. There has been no trauma or damage to the iPad. It is still covered under the 1 year limited warranty. is there any way to fix this in my own?! Thank you!

    Hello there katelynlc,
It sounds like you have some graphical anomolies on your screen that have a pink hue. If it is a software issue it will be resolvable by either first resetting the iPad:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Or backing up and restoring your iPad as a new device:
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
If restoring as new does resolve it, restore your backup and verify it still works.
If not, then the iPad will need service:

    All the very best,

  • Does anyone have a problem with the ipad air screen?

I bought an ipad air last week and the left edge of the screen was darker than the other side. It was obvious so I just returned it and bought a new one since the store didn't have the same style in storage. I bought another one from another retailer, and just found the same problem, but not as serious as the former one. So I just took it back to the store the next day and exchange another one. Unfortunately, the third one had the same problem at the up-left corner of the screen. I admit that I am picky, but I think I pay this amount of money so I deserve perfect screen. If the brightness of the two sides is different, I dont think it is a product of good quality.
Just want know if anyone else have the same problem with me. Or you just can bear the small diffrence of display.  BTW, in China, it is reported spreadly that the ipad air screen has a problem. They even generalize the serial number for problematic ipad air.

Yep.   Many quality control problems.   The new mini has fewer issues.   No problems with older models.
Steve Jobs, where are you when we need you!

  • Is the iPad Air screen less sensitive to touch?

I just got an iPad Air, and notice that it's less sensitive to touch (as compared to my iPad 2 and iPhone 5, both running iOS 7).
I am used to touching the screen ever, ever so gently (just brushing against it with my fingertip), in order to scroll pages etc. This no-longer works with the iPad Air. I need to have more of my finger in contact with the screen in order for it to register a touch.
At first I thought it was because of the protective film that they put on when I bought the iPad, but I asked them to remove it, and it was still the same. (Also, I have a screen protector on my iPhone, and it's no less sensitive to touch as a result.)
I went back to the store and tried another iPad Air, and it was exactly the same as my one: less sensitive. The store employees concurred: it's a significant difference.
Do they have a bad batch at this store, or is the iPad Air screen just "different"?

I wanted to buy an ipad air to replace my ipad 2 but the one I wanted was (luckily) sold out.
Yesterday I tested the air from a collegue and I noticed the screen was SUBSTANTIALLY less sensitive than the screen of my ipad 2 when using my stylus.
I use Stylus R US especially for I annotate and with the air this did not work well at all... Half of the time there was no contact registered so underying certain parts of the text was a disaster...
Just working with the finger all whent OK... Just fear that another app I use a lot (notes +) will have same problem.
On the Ipad 4 also retina all goes *** smooth as on my ipad 2...
Is this a fault of a specific ipad air series? Or is this normal?? If it is I think this is truelly a huge flaw and I cannot see how not manny people using the ipad for notetaking etc did not notice this...
