Blueprints(AJAX)?

Can someone help me please? I am wanting to use autocomplete from the blueprints(AJAX) in a bad way. I used the update center to d/l it, but now I can't find it. In the tutorial pdf it says to use the import button on the left hand bottom of the components pallet and there is none. I believe I selected auto install when I d/l'ed blueprints, but it took 3 attempts as there was some sort of error at Java.
Can someone tell me where to find the blueprints(AJAX) autocomplete text box so I can see if I still need to import it.
BTW: Am I going to run into any problems using Studio Creator 2 update1 with XP home?

I used the update center to d/l it, but now I can't

http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/2/ajaximportcomponents.html
If so, it doesn't say to use the import buttton on the components pallet. It says:
1 From the IDE's main menu, choose Tools > Component Library Manager.
2 In the Component Library Manager, click the Import button, which is in the lower left corner of the dialog box.
I believe I
selected auto install when I d/l'ed blueprints, but
it took 3 attempts as there was some sort of error at
Java.But you still have to import the complib.
What sort of error?

  • Blueprints Ajax Map Viewer Error - NoClassDefFoundError

    I am at a loss to understand why I get the error below when using the blueprints ajax Map Viewer component.
    At one time I had this working, but somethng must have changed.
    Everything compiles, so all the components are being found, but when I navigate to the page, I get
    a NoClassDefFoundError that appears to point to something within blueprints.
    I have located the portion of my java code that appears to be the source of the problem.
    It is creating a new instance of the MapComponent() class.
    Can anyone suggest what I can look for to resolve this problem?

  • Customize AJAX Blueprint Autocomplete component ?

    Customize AJAX Blueprint Autocomplete component ?
    Can you control the size of the result box generated ?
    Can you control what happens when you click on a result row in the result box ?
    I would like to specify the size of the result box, and possible also the placement/position.
    I would also like to use the result and replace that result with another result, or for example populate a different listfield with it..
    Anybody got any ideas on this ?
    As usual, I have searched with google and on *.sun.com without any luck in finding this information, read articles, documentation and blogs etc....
    Kind Regards,

    It looks like you would have to build your own custom AutoComplete component and bring it into Creator. You may have found these links already, but you'd want to start with the API spec for custom components:

    http://java.sun.com/blueprints/ajax.html

  • What is the latest version of AJAX

    I have AJAX JSF Components 0.96 in my JSC.
    From this tutorial, http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/2/ajaxprogressbar.html
    It seems that BluePrints AJAX is the latest version.
    However, I run my Updata Center, and get a message "No Aviable Update".
    Which one is the latest version?
    Thanks in advance

    Actually what I am looking for is the progress bar. In addition to AJAX, is there any other way to do a progress bar?
    Thanks

  • Java BluePrints versus Jakarta

    I created a new Visual Web Pack Application, for source structure I chose Jakarta (the other option is Java BluePrints), because I am going to deploy my application in Tomcat 5.5.17. For server I obviously chose Tomcat 5.5.17.
    Also, I added the BluePrints AJAX components 0.1.1 to the component libraries of my project.
    However when I wanted to drag an Auto Complete Text Field on one of my project's page this turned out to be impossible. I guess because I chose Jarkarta as source structure instead of Java BluePrints.
    Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
    What are the consequences of choosing Java BluePrints as source structure when you want to deploy in Tomcat?
    Thanks,
    Annet.

    Well, the String.replaceAll(String, String) method uses the Java regexp internally, and I'm not sure there's a way to change that. So that at least is one place that will use it. I don't know for sure, but Jakarta's ORO is supposed to be fully compatible with Perl 5, and also supports other regexp types as well, so if you need that aspect of it, then go with Jakarta. I heard some of Java's are a little limited in some capabilities. I can't find any particular pages that refer to any comparisons of them at to compare runtime performance.

  • Right Ajax component library to use with netbeans

    Hi,
    I am using netbeans for my jsf development. I downloaded the Blueprint Ajax Component and Dynamic
    Faces for Ajax Functionality. I am looking for functionality where i can update a Panelgroup with new
    UI components without refreshing the whole page. Is it possible to do this with Dynamic Faces ? Is there a different Ajax library that i can use with netbeans that would provide this functionality ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    as far as I remember, Tobago is not compatible with JSF 1.2. I worked with Oracle's ADF over a year ago and I remember, that we had some compatibility problems. And if I also recall correctly, Trinidad is the "JSF compatible" version of ADF. ADF was donated by Oracle to the Apache foundation and is now called "Trinidad". You can use both "MyFaces" and "Trinidad" components within the same webapp. That should give you enough components to work with.
    Hope, that helps.
    Cheers,
    Joerg

  • Deploying JSC Web App to SJSAS9

    Hi there,
    I have several web applications I've written in Netbeans, and they run on a SJSAS9 server. I've also written a JSC web app, and I would now like to deploy this onto the same SJSAS9 server that I've got my other web apps on.
    It is certainly stated on several SUN sites that this can be done, here for instance:
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-3653/6n5s0v1qa?a=view
    I've done this, and it works other than there is no database connectivity.
    I have copied the adapter jar file, and the same jdbc jar files over to my server but no change. I can't find any meaningful error message in the logs... but when i used the EXPORT WAR file option I had to export to app server 8, because there is no option for 9. If I try registering my sjsas9 in JSC directly then it can't start or stop it...
    thanks for any help.
    Richard

    Thanks, this helped me fix my problem. First I tried adding the _init method into prerender and that fixed the first problem. The next problem I had was that the Blueprint AJAX Components were throwing an exception (pasted below). I had no luck fixing this exception, so I downloaded, built and ran Glassfish V2 b09, and everything worked, finally :-)
    To be honest this whole project I've been working on in JSC (latest final release) has been a nightmare of going from one bug to another. It has some great features but productivity wise I've lost an enormous amount of time. Every time I track down one problem/workaround, add a bit of functionality, it's another bug/workaround to find. Yeh I know I should be logging them all... I'd love to see it all hang together though, it would be so powerful. Unfortunately my company is currently reviewing IBM and Oracle's suite of Java products and I'm the one trying to persuade them to stay with the SUN tools - my job is getting harder.
    FYI, this is the stack trace coming from the AJAX components in SJSAS9.
    thanks

  • Google Map markers text not formated properly in FireFox

    I'm using the Blueprints Ajax Map Viewer component to add a Google Map to one of my pages. This is too cool! It really makes using Google Maps easy.
    However I have a display problem in FireFox. The map has MapMarkers with markup. When you click on a marker the Info Window "balloon" is displayed with the markup text. In IE, the Info Window is nicely wrapped. However, in FireFox, the text is displayed one word per line. So in IE it looks like:
        My Marker
        Description of my marker.But, in FireFox
        My
        Marker
        Description
        of
        my
        marker.Here's an actual example of the "markup."
    <b>Downtown Danville</b><p>Parking. Water. Restroom (in Caboose!). Museum.</p>I suspect it is a style problem, but don't know where to start to troubleshoot. Do I have to dig into the Themes? Any Ideas?
    Cheers

    Thank you for bringing this to the forum. One of our developers suggests replacing all spaces with non-breaking spaces ( ) and provides the following code associated with the component catalog found at http://developers.sun.com/ajax/componentscatalog.jsp:
    public String button1_action() {
    String userLocation = (String)this.selectValue1.getValue();
    if (userLocation != null) {
    GeoPoint userPoint = (GeoPoint)getSessionBean1().getGeoPoints().get(userLocation);
    if (userPoint != null) {
    double latitude = userPoint.getLatitude();
    double longitude = userPoint.getLongitude();
    this.mapViewer1_center.setLatitude(latitude);
    this.mapViewer1_center.setLongitude(longitude);
    renderMapViewer = true;
    String m = formatMarker(userPoint.toString());
    MapMarker marker = new MapMarker(latitude, longitude, m);
    this.mapViewer1.setMarkers( new MapMarker[] {marker} );
    //this.mapViewer1.setInfo(marker);
    } return null;
    private String formatMarker(String text) {
    text = "<b>" + text + "</b>";
    text = "Location shown: <br/>" + text;
    text = text.replaceAll(" ", " ");

  • NB 6.1 and Google Maps

    I've looked all over and can't seem to find tutorial on Google Maps for NB 6.1 There is tut for NB 5.5 but it can't be applied to NB 6.1 as Netbeans developers said themselves:
    -  No Support for Ajax Sample Components
    -  Google Map - Planned for futureI've tried to work with NB 5.5 but the tut for Ajax Map Viewer isn't working quite right and the map component is the reason.
    Ajax Map Viewer component does not work properly under NetBeans Visual Web Pack 5.5.1.
        Description: The BluePrints Ajax complib needs to be updated and re-added to the project for this component to work properly.
        Workaround: To fix this issue:
           1. Update the BluePrints Ajax Components library from Update Center as described in Downloading and Importing Ajax Components.
           2. Remove the BluePrints Ajax Components library from the project: Under Component Libraries, right-click BluePrints AJAX Components (0.1.1) and choose Remove.
           3. Add the newly updated BluePrints Ajax Components library: Right-click Component Libraries and choose Add Component Library.
           4. Undeploy the web application.
           5. Stop the application server, clean and build the project, and restart the application server.
           6. Redeploy the web application. Tried it and now sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Am I forced to abandon NB if I want to develop google map type of app?

    Hooo, speew, you are optimistic.
    I've definitely got the problem: ultra slow redraw, takes up to 40 seconds to activate when you click on an action such as 'directions from here' in a contextual menu, takes 30 seconds for a route to be drawn, takes 10 seconds for a zoom change, and more. 10 seconds may not sound like a lot, but to give you a reference, 90% of voicemails left are only 4-6 seconds. Give it a try.
    That's all without satellite view or any other services options turned on (hotels, show me etc)

  • Update Center for Linux OS

    Is there a download URL for Linux OS?
    I have Creator 2_1 loaded on a Linux blade and was unable to get to the update center. After reviewing the server log I noticed the URL included ..../en/catalog_Linux_i386.xml?unique....
    When accessed via a Windows version of Creator 2_1, the update center was successfully accessed and I was able to download BluePrint AJAX components. The URL for the Windows version is .../en/catalog_Windows_x86.xml?unique...
    After doing a lookup on Google there doesn't apear to be an update site for Linux (only Sun and Windows) Is this correct? Any workarounds?

    I have ubuntu linux amd64 and the url that appears in advanced options, the one that the program uses to update is this: htttp://www.netbeans.org/updates/creator/2_1/en/catalog_{$platform_code}.xml?{$netbeans.hash.code}
    but this url doesn't exist and I can't update. I wonder if there's another url I can update from.

  • Netbeans visual web pack for 6.0.1?

    Hi guys im really new to programming and i decided to do a tutorial on the netbeans website to make an app using google maps api
    to do this though i need to install the netbeans visual webpack and also the blueprint ajax components library.
    The problem is that apparently its only for netbeans 5.5... but i use 6.0.1. The one i have is newer so shouldnt those libraries still be availabe? How do I get around this??
    here is the site the tutorial is on http://www.netbeans.org/kb/55/vwp-ajaxmapviewer.html

    These forums support the Java language, not NetBeans (or any other IDE). If you can't find a matching addon, change to the 5.5 version - or ask this question at the NB site.
