Bluetooth and motorola e770 "unable to validate device" ???

hey everyone --
did some hunting online this morning and see that quite a few people have been having trouble connecting their motorola phones to their ibooks. i have a g4 with os x 10.4 and a motorola e770 (vodafone spain). after pairing correctly the phone and the ibook, i tried to send a file (.mp3 and later a .jpeg) and got the error "unable to validate device". I have no idea why it won't work, considering the computer recognizes the motorola and vice versa.
tried restaring both phone and ibook and uninstalling/reinstalling the bluetooth recognition/connection. no luck. anyone have any advice??

oh i must tell you all that this is the worste phone i ever owned, and ive read many people saying that motorola is nothing but garbage these days.
the phone does various noticable things at glance, like freezes up when switching between menues after a few times for a few minutes , not one but few, and if you hit any buttons the one that seems to work the best in waking it up is the one for the web, and that costs 30 cents at starts, this happened 11 times, cant help it since the same button has several functions, beware that the screen changes menu options for that button.
i recomend you take that phone back and smqack the guy who sold it to you, this way retail clerks have more sense then to lie thourgh there teeth about such a phone, its a sham.

  • Bluetooth present but says unable to validate device.

I have a powerbook G4 and a Mac Mini G4 they are both running 10.4.9 and were able to comunicate before upgrading, now neither computer will find the other when I search for devices. Can anyone help.

I've got the same problem ... probalby since last software update. My G4 powerbook won't talk to bluetooth devices. A very useful "an error occured" message comes up for a moment just before it announces it couldn't find the device.

    1. Make sure that in your phone you have your PC set as paired device (it's in "connections"). Plus make sure that paired PC is set as "authorised" in phone in setup of connections.
    2. If still not working, check that you have latest drivers installed. You can get those by installing PC suite and follow p.1
    I hope it helps.

  • Snow Leopard and BlackBerry - recently unable to detect device

I installed Snow Leopard last week.  Immediately after it installed, I was able to use PocketMac to sync my BlackBerry 7130e and my Mac.
I later installed update 10.6.1 and shortly after, I realized that it wasn't syncing anymore, and the plug symbol that indicates the BlackBerry is plugged in was no longer present.  However, the BlackBerry would charge using the USB/AC adapter, so I know it's not a faulty cord.
I did a restore back to when I was running 10.6 and it didn't make a difference, so I restored it again to 10.6.1 and I can't yet get it to sync.
I checked the System Profiler and this is what I got:
      Product ID: 0x0001
      Vendor ID: 0x0fca
      Version: 1.04
      Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
      Manufacturer: Research In Motion
      Location ID: 0x1a200000
      Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): Unknown (Device has not been configured)
Any ideas on what might help?
    David.

I found a partial solution in another thread - downloading the drivers for pocketmac and deleting the .kext files for BlackBerry.
I can now get the "plugged in" symbol so I know it's connected, but still no syncing.
    System Profiler shows:
    USB Bus:
      Host Controller Location: Built-in USB

  • Iphone 6 bluetooth and my nissan rogue 2014 not working

I've been trying to make calls using my nissan rogue bluetooth and my iphone 6. The device is paired but when I try to make a call it won't work. Do you guys know if this is something apple will fix with the next update? Has this issue been reported?

Hey.  I am having this problem on my 2014 Jeep Willys.  I corrected it last night by resetting all settings(after chatting with an Apple tech online), but this morning it did not work again.  SMH!  I decided to reset network settings only and it worked.  I even turned off my Jeep and then back on.  The phone reconnected and worked.  Mine always connects, but no phone calls are able to be made or received.  So far this worked for me.

Where exactly did you buy this phone?
Have you tried contacting your phone carrier to activate the phone?
Do you have a sim card?

  • Bluetooth and my Motorola V3

I recently got a Motorola V3 and it came with a USB wire, i was hoping i could connect it up and store pictures on my MacBook rather than the phone. However when i plugged it in the computer didnt recognise the phone as an external device - i talked to the people in the phone shop and they said i had to download some software from the motorola website as i am usig a mac (but i dont have the internet at the moment - i am posting from my local libary) So i tried to connect it via bluetooth and i found that i am able to send files over to my phone but i cannot browse my phones files (it says there is an error with the connection)
Also does anyone know how to shorten or compress mp3 files so they take up less memory on my phone - obviously if i were to use a mp3 as a ringtone i would not need the whole song. Also compressing picture files?
    Thanks, G

    It easy.
On your phone go to settings> conection>select>Highlight the BT icon and press select > setup > It's going to say "ON" but turn it Off and ON again.
On your MBP : turn BT ON > Open BT Preferences > Set Up New Device > follow the instructions.
You have to see the BT icon flashing on your phone. If not, turn BT Off and On again.
    That worked for me
EDIT: No need to use the USB cable

  • Attempting to use bluetooth for the first time, and it never sees any other devices

I have an iPad 2 about a year old, running iOS 6.0.1.  This morning I tried to connect to another iPad, over bluetooth, and neither iPad is able to discover the other.  This is the first attempt to use bluetooth on either of these iPads.  The other iPad is also running iOS 6.0.1.  The iPads were less than 10 feet apart.
On both devices, I went to settings:bluetooth, and turned blutooth "on".  This opened up a "Devices" box, which says "Searching...", with a spinning wheel icon. Below this box is says "Now discoverable".  Both devices remained in this state.
I haven't used bluetooth before so I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
Later in the day I fiddled with the bluetooth systems prefs panel on my desktop (a circa 2005 intel mac running OSX 10.6.8).

(hadn't finished my earlier message but somehow it posted it before I was ready).
From the OSX bluetooth panel, I turned bluetooth on, and made my computer discoverable.  I then hit "setup new device", and was taken to the Bluetooth setup assistant.  After a few seconds it showed me my ipad as one of the devices it had discovered.  Over on the ipad, though, it did not discover the desktop machine.
After about a minute, I then selected the ipad from the list of devices on the desktop machine, and hit "continue".  At this point it said "attempting to pair with MyIpad", and "connection established".  At the same time, a panel popped up on my iPad, listing my desktop machines name, and asking for a PIN.  It is not clear to me whether it is asking for a PIN that I have supposedly set up on the desktop machine, or if it is asking me to establish a PIN.  So I quit.
In any case, my goal in going through this attempt on the destop machine was solely to establish whether the bluetooth hardware is working on the ipad.  I believe that has to be true.
So, can someone explain to me what steps I am *supposed* to go through to pair up two ipads over bluetooth?

    Hey tyjox,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you need to deactivate Find My iPhone on a device that does not work. You will need to work with the family member of the account the iPhone is registered with. I would recommend that you use this article to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
iCloud: Remove your device from Find My iPhone

Remove an iOS device you no longer have
If you no longer have the iOS device because you gave it away or sold it, you need to remotely erase it before you can remove it.
Sign in to icloud.com/#find with your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud). If you’re using another iCloud app, click the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window, then click Find My iPhone.
Click All Devices, then select the device.
Click Erase [device], then enter your Apple ID password. Because the device isn’t lost, don’t enter a phone number or message. If the device is offline, the remote erase begins the next time it’s online. You’ll receive an email when the device is erased.
When the device is erased, click Remove from Account. All your content is erased and someone else can now activate the device.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
