Bluetooth communication with printer

I have just installed a bluetooth adapter (HP bt450) on my HP 7850 Printer. Sometimes when I send a document to the printer, it works and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the error message is "printer is out of range", which it definitely isn't. Any ideas what's going on?
Orangedog

You said the drivers were updated, but where do you download these new drivers? HP's site (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-62868-1 &lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3635399&os=219&lang=en) only shows 10.5 and earlier drivers.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

  • Computer not communicating with printer

This morning my HP Pavallion downloaded some new updates and installed.  After that I consistently get messages of "No communications with printer".  It will not communicate with either my printer or pdf writer printer.
I have rebooted computer 2-3 times, restarted printer 2-3 times and still have the issue.
In an earlier note I noticed a recommendation of going back to the original computer program before the updates.  I would I do that?
    Any recommendations for a fix?

    Hey @papamkoch  and @glendodom ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
If you're looking to do a system restore to before the issue started (which I agree is a great idea) you will want to check out this document:

These documents cover the steps to access the restore. If a restore doesn't work you can also try a recovery which will put the unit back to it's original factory condition.
Let me know if the restore works!

  • Unable to establish the two way communication with printer j110a

every thing is ok but during the printing or ink level checking this message displayed "unable to establish the two way communication with printer j110a" please reply soon?

Hard Reset – While printer is powered ON, pull the power cord from the printer then from the wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to wall and printer. This will trigger a ‘dirty power up’ and restore the printer to a known good condition (if it is possible). No user settings are lost with a ‘hard reset’. This ‘Hard Reset’ is one of the most powerful tools to use when the printer hardware is not functioning properly! IF NOT RESOLVED, uninstall hp software & reinstall using latest hp software from hp website.

  • Computer not communicating with printer(s) scanner

I recently hooked up an Officejet  J6480 wireless printer. I also have a J5780 hooked up via USB. After hours, and I mean hours,  of being on-line with Tech Support through Chat and uninstalling and reinstalling, several times, and trying numerous things, neither printer has communication with the computer for scanning. The J6480 will scan if you go through Paint so it is functioning. The J5780 I haven't tested. I have downloaded drivers and every other thing that was suggested and the computer is not communicating with the printer for scanning. I have a Dell computer Inspiron 530S and am running Windows Vista (32)  May I also say, that I disable the Firewall & Virus programs when downloading, etc. so it doesn't interfer. I have tried everything but dynamite to get the scanner to respond. I've downloaded the Patch suggested in the drivers listings and everything. Im beside myself because the J5780 scanned fine until I installed the J6480. Now the window on the printer says there are no scan settings available in the window on the printer. Chat Techs, I think, are beside themselves too. I uninstalled the J5780, installed the J6480 and then went into 'Add a Printer'. Everything went fine except the scanner. I get a message from Solution Center saying there is no communication between the computer and the scanner. I think something is missing here. If anyone knows a solution I would be more than grateful. HELP!!!!

Did you do an L3 uninstall of all HP software and start from scratch?  The L3 uninstaller should be on the install CD's for each printer.  You may have to do a search of the CD to find it.
Tell me what router, ISP and encryption type you are using?  Also, what kind of security software are you using?
Have you done a WIndows Update and updated your security system?  Do that between the L3 uninstall and the re-install.
There is a lot going on here.  I'll hang in there with you...

  • MBP losing 'communication' with printer!!!!!!!!!

    Hi
I don't seem to be having as many printing problems as many people but I do have one recurring issue.
Often when I try and print a document nothing happens, if I check the printer icon it says the computer has lost communication with the printer.
If I pause printing and then resume it ALWAYS prints perfectly.
This does not happen all the time but very frequently.
    Any ideas?

Install of Leopard was archive and install.
    Cheers.

    Hi Jeff,
I do not know what OS you are using but is it possible that the OS
scheduled tasks with higher priority threads start working after a periodic
interval. In such scenario freezing of your application is possible. Try
working with only systray, explorer in the background when your daq
    application is launched.
Another possibility is use of old version of printer driver - some HP
printers do not have Windows 98 drivers.
I worked with SCXI 1200 and the Chassis and had no problems on Windows 95 -
although I didn't acquire data for a long time.
    Hope this helps
    Good luck

  • PSE not communicating with printer.

I have PSE 11 on a Windows 7 PC printing to an Epson XP850. After months of successful printing the printer kept reporting a communication error and would not print from PSE but does so from other programmes. It looked as if PSE all of a sudden wanted to print to the old R800 printer which had been replaced. I uninstalled the R800, still no joy. I uninstalled and re-installed the XP 850 and the problem persists. The error message from PSE 11 is "the saved printer information is not compatible with this version of PSE or the saved printer is no longer available". I would uninstall PSE 11 and re-install, but I don't want to lose all the Organiser information. Can anyone offer any helpful suggestions? It would be a great help and very much appreciated.

  • CC programs not communicating with printer?

We recently updated and our CC programs will not communicate with the print driver.  All other programs print fine.  None of the paper types appear in the printer driver settings screens, and therefore error out at the Fiery, which is an IC-306 on a Bizhub Press C6000. This is ONLY happening in the CC prgrams - word, internet, etc. all work as they should?

In the event that I am not logged into the forum, please also email suggested fixes to [email protected]  Thanks!

  • InDesign quits communicating with Printer

I am using a Brother Laser Printer (non-PostScript). It has worked well with InDesign in the past.
Other applications still access printer successfully.
Indesign activates MacOS printer driver, Printer Driver dialog box shows that it has received the data and is sending to printer but nothing happens.
Using InDesign CS3 with MacOS 10.5.8 using multiple accounts.
Tried trashing Cache in username/Library/Caches/Adobe Indesign/Version 5.0 but that did not seem to resolve the problem.

Try on the ID3 print set up page paper size:  'Define by driver/printer'  (Mine is a Mac page)
It may be that ID is trying to sort the printer out rather than letting the printer take control.
    Just an idea
I had printing problems with CS4 and this sorted it out.

  • Bluetooth performance with printing

Is it normal for BT to be really slow for printing? I have an HP Photosmart 8450 with BT and printing is very slow. I recently changed the connection to use USB and realized just how much faster the USB connection really is. By comparison, a color printout, normal paper, not hight res, can take as much as 5 minutes using BT and less than a minute using USB.

Only thing that comes to mind is to get a second BT dongle, and then hope the two don't interfere with one another.
BT is a very low bandwidth protocol. Only about 1-2Mbps, and pretty much all of that is going to be taken up by streaming music. So you're going to have to make a decision about how you go forward from here. Something is going to have to give, and you have to decide what that something is.

  • Problems communicating with printer

My long-in-the-tooth iMac G4 keeps losing touch with the printer, a Canon IP2600. The computer recognizes the printer, but when we hit print, generally nothing happens -- sometimes we get a printer error message.
Using the printer setup utility, I can reset the printer system and get it to work. But then after a short time it ceases functioning once more.
    Has anyone run across this?
    Awaiting wisdom,
    Steve

There may be an issue related to the available drivers and whatever Mac OS X
system your unspecified older iMac may have running inside it at this time.
Since nothing was specified, I did a simple google of ' Canon IP2600 driver mac '
and found a page of different kinds of information; many results could apply...
    http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=canonip+2600+driver+mac&aq=5s&aqi=g-s10&oq=CanonIP2600&fp=c807e9ccc08a197a
There may be a replacement driver (from June 2009 for OS X 10.3; others for 10.5-10.6)
from Canon for your printer from their download center page, here:
    http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDet ailTabAct&fcategoryid=357&modelid=16278
So, if you know what doesn't work, perhaps use the correct information and see
if something else in the way of supported drivers are available for whatever OS.
And if the cable to the printer is known-good (and replaced to test that idea) at
least that link in the hardware chain may be not suspected of failure. Supported
drivers may be available for whatever your configuration has in it.
IF the printer is being used over a wireless network, then a different set of issues
may result from using drivers and hardware configurations; solutions vary.
And depending on whatever OS X version you have, the support for New printers
may be lacking if they do not work right out of the box for antique OS versions.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Bluetooth communication with I Phone 5

How can I get my Mac Powerbook to connect to my I Phone 5 using Bluetooth?  I go through the pairing procedure but the two devices will not connect.

No. Apple does not do trade-ins of any kind. Sell your 4S & use the money towards an iPhone 5.

  • Bluetooth connection with my hands-free device

    Hello,
Several days ago the operation system of my Q10 was updated by 10.3.1.1779 release and now I have a problem with bluetooth communication with the built-in hands-free device  in my car.  My contacts app alredy is not recognized, so I cannot dial numbers from my contact's list and couldn't recognize a number who is calling. Also the numbers dialed haven't been memorizing...
    Could you suggest any decision?

Hi had a same problem, after upgrading to 5.0.2 on my D6633 with my Honda. I have reset the phone and as well deleted all other devices I use at home (MAP-S1, SRS-X9) plus uninstalled SongPal application that controls them and all working now. This THROW function is usless only cosing problems

  • "Unable to communicate with printer" Photosmart 7515 wireless

My printer works fine for hours at a time, but then for no apparent reason I get "unable to communication with printer" , message.  None of the HP diagnostic utilities find a problem up to the point where I try to print a test print.  The only solution I have found is to "logoff" WindowsXP and log back on.  A complete reboot is not required.  This is always successful, but obviously I need a better and faster solution!  The other printers on the network (Windows Vista and Windows 7 have not had this problem.  The Printer IP is unchanged.
    Ideas?

Looks like you have done a lot of what needs to be done.  Nice work!
Just want to clarify a few things.
Can you connect the printer to the router using a network cable?
Does the printer work fine if connected directly to the router via netowork cable?
If that works fine, please note the IP address and disconnect network cable.
    Wireless:
From the 6520 , configure wireless connection
What is the printer's IP address when you have it assigned automatically and not manually?
If both IP addresses assigned are from same subnet (ex:192.168.x.x)
-can you ping the printer through the command prompt (in accessories) from a PC on the same network?
      'Ping (address) xxx.xxx.x.x'
You should get back 3 lines showing the mil sec response if successful.
Sorry if I am asking you to do something you have already done.
    I work for HP

  • Airport Express not working with printer on Windows, works fine on Macbook

I have an airport express that is connected to my Brother laser printer. I installed the software and it works and prints fine on my macbook pro.
I tried to also set it up using my Dell running Windows XP SP2, but after using the instructions, it looked like it set up fine and the printer is recognized, but when I try and print, it just gives me an error message that that printer is "busy or unable to print".
    Any ideas?

Is there another solution to this problem? I have two PCs running WinXP and can not print with either one of them through Airport Express. Printing works fine with MacBook. I have Bonjour on both PCs and have run the setup wizard. The printer seems to be connecting and then hangs up on "communicating with printer."

  • There is a problem communicating with the printer.

I have a Lexmark Interpret S405. I am using a MBP laptop with WiFi, running 10.5.8. I have a cabled (non-wifi) Linsys router. I am using an Airport Express.
I was finally able to get the WiFi light on the Lexmark to be static green after reinstalling the Lexmark WiFi setup and reconfiguring my Airport settings so that both the computer and printer see each other.
In fact, I even updated the driver from Lexmark's Web site last night and I watched the WiFi light on the printer blink green indicating that the installation of the driver update was being communicated to the printer.
However, when I print, it opens the print window and says first "Looking for S300-S400", then it says "Printer is now online". Then after about 10 seconds, I get this error: "There is a problem communicating with the printer. Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the computer. Delete or hold the job and try again."
I've exhausted Lexmark's technical databases and couldn't find the answer here.
I've read that one possible solution was to delete all the printers from the "Print & Fax" system preferences window and re-add. That didn't work.
Lexmark says for: The printer communicating on a network; however, the printer is not responsive. Possible causes could be:
    1. Your printer is associated with a network, router, or access point, but it is not your network.
    2. A software process is blocked by a system security firewall preventing network communication.
    3. You are logged into Virtual Private Network (VPN).
    4. You are connected to a network but have decided to switch to a USB connection.
I don't have a VPN and have removed the USB cable, then restarted both printer and computer, and deleted printers in Sys Prefs, restarted, and still no solution.
I can print directly via USB cable, but want to print wirelessly.
Lexmark also says to enter my PIN (which I have pulled out from the print menu screen on the printer) in the System. That tells me a lot...
Network settings on the print window on the printer also tell me Signal strength is 5 (excellent) and that I am on the network my airport is on.

I bet this is too late but...
Are you trying to print through the airport express wirelessly or the built in wireless of the lexmark? If you want to use the airport express, there is no need to mess with the wireless printing on the lexmark at all. The airport express will be easy to set up, all the wireless setups through the printers are a pain.
