Bluetooth drivers/enabled on T61P WINDOWS 8

Hi,
I am running Win 8 32bits on my Lenovo T61P.
> I have properly installed HotKey feature which works fine
> Bios indicate Bluetooth <Enabled>
> the front switch is on <on> position
When I press Fn+F5 I only have the new "charm" Windows 8 slide on the right which displays WiFi Only.
In the <Turn wireless device on or off> in control panel, I dont have any Bluetooth item.
I tried couple of drivers found on Lenovo website, no way I can find anything working.
Does any other users make it work ? Any link to recommend ?
Thank you!

Hello and welcome,
Do you see anything about bluetooth if you follow the path below?
Bring up Settings charm. At the bottom it says "Change PC Settings". That looks like the title of the settings above (to me) but it's a link. Click it. Then click "wireless" on the left.

  • Windows 7 does not load the ipad bluetooth drivers

I am trying to connect my ipad 2 to a windows 7 computer and the computer will not load the ipad blutooth drivers so a connection is never made.

    Hi Phil,
It's funny that you say that Reflector runs on Wifi and not Bluetooth. I thought the same thing and that's why I was having a difficult time with getting this to work...on top of the bluetooth drivers not installing properly.
When you initially connct your iPad device to your computer through bluetooth, your PC installs bluetooth drivers...you can see this by the little notifictaion you get that says this. Setting up your device...installing drivers. So you can't tell me that there are no iPad bluetooth drivers.
You have to enable bluetooth on your ipad to get to the mirroring icon. (double tap your home button and scroll to the left. The mirroring icon should be visible and only visible if you have bluetooth turned on. Now if you run Reflector, then you should see the name of your PC that you shared through Reflector. Then you click on the mirroring app on your iPad and select the shared name on your PC and slide the mirroring toggle button to turn it on.
I have tested this on another laptop running Windows 7 and everything installed perfectly fine...even the bluetooth drivers.
So my conlusion is that it is the bluetooth drivers at fault here, since they didnt install properly. No matter how many times I remove the device and readd it, the bluetooth drivers do not install and I see red x's beside them.
Not sure what is keeping the drivers from being installed.
BTW...thanks for your reply Phil...see posting to this year old thread did me some good as you replied
    cheers,
    Tom

  • U330 wireless and bluetooth drivers for windows xp. devices not working. drivers already installed

so i did a fresh instal of windows xp pro sp3.
device manager shows yellow question mark and ! for Network Controller and BCM2046 Bluetooth Device. i have tried using lan to windows update, update drivers, but device manager cannot find anything.
i have installed the 2 broadcom drivers for windows xp listed on lenovos website. i made sure that wireless switch is on, and fn+f5 wireless option is set to on as well.
LAN shows up. and so does the 1394 on the network connections, but no wireless.
(note: on my server 2008 os, the new windows troubleshooting instructed me to turn on a specific service, which then enabled my wireless to work.)
however i cant seem to find a way to get the wireless to work.
Could someone tell me all services exactly need to be enabled for the wireless to work? and why does the network controller still show up on device manager even after i have installed the drivers?
    please help, totally lost.

Your "yellow" device is Bluetooth, not WiFi.
Fn+F5 utility work depends on both of them, so you need all drivers to be installed before it will work.
Install bluetooth drivers for your model. Also, your WiFI also may be Broadcom (Gemtek) and you may be trying to install Intel WiFi.

  • Need Palm Bluetooth Drivers For Windows 7 64 Bit

    Hi,
I am a long time Palm Pilot user and I have been there through all the trials and tribulations.  I have just bought a new computer running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit edition and I am trying to find the drivers for Bluetooth sync.
I am using a Palm Tungsten E2 and the Palm OS 6.2 and with the computer I am currently using (Windows 7 Home Premuim 64-Bit)  I sync via Bluetooth and never had any problems and want to keep it that way.
WyreNut and several members did a lot of work when Windows 7 first came out and helped a lot fo people with synch issues.  I have searched the Forums and cannot find a link to where I can download the Bluetooth drivers so I can synch my Palm Pilot via Bluetooth to my new computer.
If someone could kindly point me to where I can get the Bluetooth drivers I will be grateful.  Thanks so much.

Hi, please clarify as it sounds like both your old and new computers are the same OS.
As you know, the E2 has Bluetooth built-in.  There are no Bluetooth drivers to download.

  • Windows 7, 64bit Bluetooth Drivers - E72

    Hi
I am trying to connect my E72 to my laptop (Windows 7, 64 bit).
I need to troubleshoot the device and get the error message: ' Driver for peripheral device is not installed'.
I cannot find any Windows 7 bluetooth drivers for the E72 on the Nokia support pages.
Can anybody help, anybody having the same problem?
    Thanks!

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and bluetooth is working just fine with Nokia E6, using Nokia Suite from betalabs.
Some drivers cant install but there isnt any problem to connect the device and transfer files or sync with the computer. I hear that other brands have massive problems with 64 bit operating systems...this is very common problem for other brands also. I can live with this as long as the syncing and file transfering continue to work.
Bluetooth can sometimes be a pain in the xxx....but i love it when it works and mostly my Nokian phones manage it very well during the years.

There are no drivers for Vista for the wireless/bluetooth adapters in your model.

  • Windows Vista Bluetooth Drivers

I have finally been able to get the drivers installed and working for a USB connection by downloading the USB drivers from Blackberry.com.  I had to uninstall Desktop Manager 4.3, then install the newly downloaded drivers, then reinstall Desktop Manager 4.3.  But vista still does not find drivers for bluetooth.  The BB connects via bluetooth and will sync and stuff, but vista is still missing those two drivers.   Any ideas?  Is there a place to get bluetooth drivers?
    Thanks!

    Hi All
I take it were experiencing "Bluetooth Perhiperal Device" in "Device Manager"
    This is what I have.
I have three "Bluetooth Perhiperal Devices" in Vista Device Manager with (!) by them, all related to the Nokia N95 - All appears to be working OK however, I don't like having drivers or devices in fault.
I have the latest software on my Nokia N95 and I am using the latest version of the Nokia Suite (6.83.14.1)
I did read that there is a problem with the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack on Vista, however when I switch to the Broadcom Software it wont let me comes up with an error message. (openmedia)
Is there any hope on the Horizon? - there does not appear to be a Vista Compatible Driver on the Nokia website.
With the Modem - I manually installed "Nokia Bluetooth Modem" instead of "Standard Modem over Bluetooth Link" so I can use it with my Laptop, and that works OK.
    Shunts....
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black
Nokia E72-1 with Vr 051.018.207.04 Software
If this post helped... Add some kudos!!

What are you trying to accomplish? Why do you want to connect your Note to the W520?
I have a W530 and know nothing about the W520, so if there are relevant differences I know nothing about them. My discussion will be about the W530 and you'll have to know or determine that what I'm saying for the W530 is inapplicable to your W520.
Anyway, I have no problem setting up my W530 to be a "WiFi Hotspot", which my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone can then locate with its WiFi scannng... not BlueTooth. So if I want to use Internet access capability provided by the W530 as WiFi connection (not BlueTooth) for the phone, I can do that.
Of course I can also configure my phone to just connect to the wireless router in my home, again using WiFi in the phone (not BlueTooth).  This is essentially the same effect as having the phone go through the W530 and then through therouter, except in this setup the phone goes directly to the router to get to the Internet.
Is that all you're trying to accomplish... getting Internet WiFi access for your Note via your W520's internet connection?
Or are you wanting something else... such as accessing the storage on your Note using Windows Explorer on the W520? That's a different type of connection, which requires drivers installed on Windows to support MTP device connections, which is how the phone connects when using a USB cable.  This is not BlueTooth connection (e.g. when your phone connects to your car's BlueTooth system), but rather a plain MTP connection via USB (e.g. same as many digital cameras connect when you plug them into a USB port on the computer).
I have installed a product named PdaNet+FoxFI to provide MTP driver support (via USB cable) to Windows.  PdaNet+ also provides BlueTooth connection between phone and W530.  PdaNet+ also supports WiFi Hotspot on the phone without requiring a $20/month service charge by Sprint.  There is a component that gets installed on the PC, and a second Android app that gets installed on the phone.  Once everything is installed in both places and everything is setup properly and configured correctly, there are two basic functions that are now enabled when the phone is conncted to the W530 via USB cable:
    (1) the phone shows up in Windows Explorer, and its internal phone and external card storage are both visible directly for drag/drop, move/copy, etc. functionality of Explorer
    (2) The internet connection of the phone is made available to the W530 via the USB cable (i.e. "USB tethering"), thus making the phone's Internet connection be usable by the W530... through the USB cable connection.  The phone can be getting to the Internet either through external service provider (e.g. 3G/4G from Sprint), or via WiFi (e.g. through home LAN wireless router), and however the Internet is reached that becomes the pathway for the W530 to connect (through the USB tethering connection to the phone, which is functionally just another network connection like home wired or wireless or general WiFi).
Note that the PdaNet+ software also supports connecting the W530 to the phone via BlueTooth, but I honestly don't know why that would be of value  It's certainly not the same as an MTP connection which supports Explorer being able to see the internal/external storage on the phone.  I've not been successful in getting things configured with BlueTooth connection so that I can get the phone to have Internet access through the W530, or the W530 to have Internet access through the phone... when they are connected via BlueTooth.  This has only worked when using either (1) USB cable connection from phone to W530, or (2) WiFi from phone to the WiFi hotspot of the W530.
So... again, what are you trying to do between your Note and your W520?  BlueTooth may be the wrong approach, and/or PdaNet+FoxFI may be your best solution.

Try running Lenovo's ThinkVantage System Update software to install any missing ThinkPad-specific drivers and hotfixes, then repeat the Fn+F5 key combo suggestion.  Does Bluetooth now activate?

  • Bootcamp bluetooth mice not working in windows 7 pro

I have an early 2008 MBP and just installed Windows 7. I cannot, for the life of me, get either of my bluetooth mice to connect in Windows 7. Both worked in XP and both work in Mac OS. The install is a clean one, not an upgrade. The mice are an older Logitech MX Revolution BT mouse and a Razer Orochi. During setup, they appear to connect, but don't. On second try, the bluetooth connection window just keeps spinning while connecting to the mouse (no system or app hangs, just no activity.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, alrich68.
Just before I checked your reply, I found a VERY similar post on MacRumors with a couple more steps and clarification on why the problem exists -
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=630024
    gloss wrote
It took me two hours, but I fixed this last night.
First off, you need to go into Mac OS and remove the keyboard and mouse from your Bluetooth settings entirely. You'll add it back in later.
    Boot into Windows.
Click on the Bluetooth control panel, and go to settings. Under Hardware, it probably says 'Generic Bluetooth Adapter'.
    Click 'Properties' and 'Change Settings'.
Go to drivers, and 'Update Drivers'. Have Windows look on your machine to find all available drivers ('Let me pick from a list')
    UNselect 'Show Compatible Drivers'.
Look for 'Apple' in the manufacturer names, then select the Apple Bluetooth Driver. Install.
Once this is done, pair your keyboard through the wizard. It should now bring up a passcode and confirm it much more quickly than before.
Once this is done, go back to Bluetooth settings and return the Drivers to 'Windows Generic'. If you leave it on the Apple drivers the keyboard will disconnect randomly and frequently.
Your keyboard will now be paired, but won't work. Go to the Device Manager, right click on the entry for the wireless keyboard.
    Click on 'services'.
It should bring up a single entry for keyboard/mouse HID services. Click this and press Apply or OK. After it installs, you should be golden.
There are two issues here - one is that Mac OS seems to 'reserve' the Bluetooth device such that it won't pair correctly with any iteration of Windows while it's already paired in OSX. It works fine the other way around, however, so you need to make sure it's set up in Windows before Mac OS.
Second, there's a Bluetooth driver issue in Windows 7 such that it won't pair with the keyboard - it'll run through the steps, but the keyboard itself will not appear to actually 'get it'. Switching to the Apple drivers briefly will ameliorate this and allow proper pairing, but to actually keep the keyboard working you should use the built-in drivers.
Thanks again alrich68. Seeing the instruction worded in two slightly different manners, suddenly made sense. I now have the Mighty Mouse working as well! Work the first try!!
Chock another one up for the user base being more inventive and imaginative than the Apple engineers!!
I agree with other comments, that this solution SHOULD have been released as an official Apple Support post, and not having to rely on the user base to struggle with this problem to ultimately figure out a solution.
BTW - for those who may think apple actually reads these posts, they typically don't unless someone calls in on Apple Care and points out the problem and posts to the support tech. The forum is USER managed. So, unless someone actually calls Apple Care or sends an offical http://www.apple.com/feedback/ post, Apple does not know what happens here.
    Anyway, thanks again!

  • Thinkpad W520 Win7 Bluetooth device not recognized by Windows 7

    Hello all,
Just received my Thinkpad W520 4270 CTO with bluetooth installed. It was a DOS workstation that I installed Win 7 x64 Ultimate on and I finally got all the drivers installed but the bluetooth software says there is no BT device connected to my laptop. I checked the BIOS settings and confirmed the BT is enabled. I even disabled it, saved, then enabled it to toggle. Hitting the Fn+5 combo doesn't trigger the light or any "Found New Hardware." When the laptop first boots up the BT light flashes along with the wifi light and the HDD activity light. I haven't yet been able to load another OS, but I'm downloading Arch Linux and BackTrack 5 to test to see it's possibly an OS issue.
Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful, it appears my Google-Fu has failed me as well.
EDIT: I realize the sticky about the "do not update the bluetooth drivers" but I'm not getting my bluetooth to work at all, not even being recognized by the OS as an "unknown device."
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I figured it out. It's laughably easy. Download the keyboard hotkey drivers and install them. It'll allow you to use the Functions at the top of your keyboard, then after you restart, hit Fn+F5 and you'll get a menu to enable Bluetooth on the OS, then Win7 should detect and install the drivers for it, or you can download the ones from Lenovo's site.
