Bluetooth problems: iMac cannot find iPhone

I am trying to set up a bluetooth internet connection between iPhone (iOS 8.1.2.) and iMac (OS X Yosemite). However, the iMac cannot find the iPhone.
So visited this website:

The website suggests that I shd enter the information you received from your wireless service provider. This information usually includes an access phone number and an account name and password.
Firstly, what is a wireless service provider, my mobile operator?
Secondly, what is an access phone number, an account name and password? Access phone number, is it my mobile number? What is an account name and password, I do not have those?

Just updated from 10.6.7 ---> 10.6.8 and had the same issue. Despite having done a clean install from 10.6 and got everything back off my TC, now Time Machine can't find it!
Green light is on, ethernet cable conected, network CP says its conected but nothing. Airport Utility can't find it. Hit reset button, Orange flashing light but still no show in Airport Utility.
But I know its there, as rebooting from 10.6 SL disk shows the backups are still ok?
Hmm, ideas anyone?

Problem: Facetime cannot find the server so cant log in. What do I need to do to make it work??

Apparently I was NOT looking at another web app but an html
prototype which the browser displayed because there was no CF tags.
The problem was that somehow the CF server service was not running.
Turned it on..problem solved.

Imac cannot find external drive

My Imac cannot find the external drive I have attached. I have used it many times before, but now it does not recognize that it is attached. I have replaced the usb cable with not luck and changed ports. Still no success. I am backing up to the cloud, and would like to also back up to this hard drive. Is this a setting issue with my Mac or do I have a bad hard drive?

In Preferences set the loaction of the library that should do the trick.
I have about 1TB of content on an external drive and it works sweetly ( drive needs to be turned on before launching iTunes ).

IMac cannot find system folder.

I purchased my iMac in March. By June I had it back at the Apple Store for repair.
They replaced the mother board. Now it is doing the same thing again. At start-up it cannot find the system folder most times. If it does start up and I let it go to sleep, when I wake up the iMac, it locks up and upon restart it cannot find the system folder.
I have tried reformating the hard drive and reinstalling the software. It only helps for a while.

I don't know if there's a question in there or not but if it's 'doing the same thing' then take it back. It's still under warranty. We can't fix hardware.

New imac--Cannot find imovie

I bought a new imac over a month ago and i cannot find imovie. I have iDVD, itunes, iphoto but not imovie. did a search on finder and all and i cannot find it. Where could it be?

That's strange. I thought all new iMacs had iMovie pre-installed and in the Applications folder as part of the iLife package. Mine did.
Maybe for some reason it wasn't installed for you and you have to do from the installation disk. Failing that get back to where you bought it from and complain I guess.

Name of iMac in Find iPhone

I'm trying to figure out how to change the name of my iMac in Find My iPhone. I know how to change the name of the iMac in the sharing preferences but this is not the name that shows up in Find My iPhone, it is getting the name from somewhere else. Anyone know how to fix this?

I have recently changed ISP and now my iPad and iMac cannot find my Deskjet 3050A 611.

My HP Deskjet 3050A 611 was working perfectly with my iPad2 and iMac up to a few weeks ago. I have changed my ISP to BT and it seems that since then the computers cannot find any AirPrint printers. I did try resetting the network defaults but apparently to no avail. Can anybody help?. The blue wireless light is flashing on the front of the computer and it has new ink cartrdges and paper.

You will have to re-install the printer using the HP software on the Mac. Look in Applications > Hewlett-Pacakard > [your printer model] for the Printer Setup & Software app and run it.

Copy the entire /Music/iTunes folder to /Music/ on the new computer.

I have a home wireless network provided by a third party ADSL modem, and an Airport Express connected to a stereo system. My MacBook has no problem playing iTunes music remotely through the AE/stereo system. The WEIRD thing is that my iMac Intel Core Duo is not able to establish a connection to the same AE/stereo system - even though the MacBook and iMac are located at almost the same spot, they are running the same version of OSX and iTunes (all my software is up to date on both computers), and both have no problems connecting to the internet through the wireless network.
What could be wrong with my iMac, or with iTunes on the iMac?

I have the same problem. I have two Airport Express units. The base is connected to the Cable/Modem for internet use. I have a Bose surround sound system also plugged into that Express unit. The other Express was used for extending the range for my old Titanium Laptop that recently bit the dust. (Waiting for Leopard before I leap;)
I was able to use iTunes music from my iMac by selecting the "speakers" I wanted. Either Express, I tried them both. I was quite successful in this remote streaming of my music library for a couple weeks. However, in the past 5 days I can not select the "speakers", they are no longer recognized by iTunes. I made sure the iTune preference to scan for wireless systems was checked. It was.
The next option was to try to reconfigure using the program Airport Admin Utility. The AAU does not even find either Express unit. I did a factory reset on "extra" Express unit and connected it by my Ethernet LAN. Then the Express is detected.
One would think that my iMac or Express did not function as a wireless system. However, I am sending this message from my iMac, through the base Express that is connected to the internet. That function thankfully does work.
Can it be a corrupted Airport Admin Utility? I tried to find a download on the Apple site to no avail. I tried to find it on my Tiger install CD's.
Any ideas?

Cannot find iPhone on T-Mobile?

I have an AT&T iPhone4 with IOS 6.1.2. I can use "Find My iPhone" to locate the phone while on AT&T 3G.
A week ago, I had it officially unlocked by AT&T and put in a T-Mobile SIM card.
Everything seems to be working. I can surf Internet on T-Mobile 3G. But I cannot locate the phone while it's on 3G. I can locate it while it connects to home WiFi though.
How exactly does the "Find My iPhone" work? Why I can locate the phone when it's on WiFi but not on 3G?

It should work just fine. Just tested with my son's iPhone 4S, officially unlocked on T-Mobile. Next time you're out, not connected to WiFi, make sure you have a 3G connection, make sure location services are enabled & Find My Phone is turned on. Toggle Airplane mode on...wait a minute or so, then toggle it off. Try now.
