Bluetooth Searching on iphone4

I have iphone4 with, iOS4.1 . when i turn-on the bluetooth, the iphone starts automatically searching for Devices, but it keeps searching and do not find any bluetooth device turned-on near it, although i put 3 different mobile phones (nokia, sonyericsson)and i also put iphone4, the two iphone4's did not see each other. Nokia phone sees my iphone but can not pair to it.
I know that old iphones (ex: 3Gs) and old iOS (ex: 3.1) allow only pairing to bluetooth headsets only, but i thought that the new iOS4.1 or even iphone4 supports bluetooth pairing with other phones, computers....
I'm afraid that my iphone4 has a problem (defect) on bluetooth. Please explain this to me.

Not true.
Bluetooth is for headsets/speakers, peer-to-peer apps, telephone handsfree/headsets and tethering where permitted by the carrier.
It does not support file transfer.
It will not connect to other phones or computer ( except for tethering where permitted).

From a technical stand point, the BlueTooth does allow transfer of any kind of file. However, this isn't always true. The device vendor has the option to turn off certain settings or, rather, restrict them. With that said, Apple has turned off iPhone to iPhone sharing directly via BT (BlueTooth). You can connect your headset or use a BT keyboard but you will not be able to transfer files directly from one phone to another. Is there an app that can do this? Sure, I believe Bump makes use of this. You could always find alternative apps as well.

Bluetooth MacBook Pro - iPhone4 issue!

I have a MacBook Pro and a iPhone4. I'd like to connect both devices via Bluetooth to share the MacBook Lan Internet connection but there is no way of doing it.
I have no problem with the iPad2, iPad3, iPhone3GS, but with the iPhone4, after the bluetooth setup is established, I get the error "Cannot connect to MacBook Pro, device not supported"...
Any help please?

I just want to add some more information. This used to work a few months ago (before this last iOS release). I have used my iPhone 4 as a hot spot, and connected to my macbook pro via bluetooth and it worked just fine. Now it does not work. I personally believe it is a glitch in the iOS release that only affected the iPhone4. There are numerous other issues that this has caused (one example is the bluetooth connectivity on the micoach product). However, since the iPhone 4 is the bottom of the totem pole, I would not expect a fix. From reading around the internet (all of which is true by the way), things are just fine on the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 with the new iOS and bluetooth.

Curve 9330 Bluetooth search finds no devices

In the bluetooth menu, when I click "Add a device" and choose Search, no devices are found. When I do the exact same thing using a Curve 9300 (or any other phone for that matter) I am able to find at least 10 devices in the exact same location at work. It appears bluetooth is not working at all.

According to my research, this issue has been cured by reloading the OS. As your device is new, I assume you have some warranty. In which case reloading the OS won't invalidate the warranty providing you use the link in the following instructions and obtain the OS from your own carrier. If it stiil has BT issues afterwards, you could try laoding the previous version of the OS. After that, if it still doesn't work, assume it is a hardward issue and return it under warranty.
In the guides it says to do a backup. Do this if you haven't already done so saving the file to a place and in a name that you can easily locate on computer.
I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer thus removing the OS for the BB from the computer in order to ensure that the version I would reinstall would be a brand new downloaded version.

Launch the new Desk Top Software on the computer
1. Connect your device to your computer.

* To view other available versions of the BlackBerry Device Software, click View other versions. If applicable, click another version. Click Install.
Ensure the new OS is the one you prevously downloaded.
Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is completed and the device has rebooted.
After 10 minutes reboot again by removing the battery whilst powered-on and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functioning BB!

JSR 82 Bluetooth search function in Blackberry

Hi,
I am using JSR 82 in my application to search devices in all blackberry device. It work fine but in some case
it dont not search any device as i look in debug mode i found that some time it do not do query of any near by
bluetooth turned on device.
Below is debug code that i print on console. When the bold one bluetooth line is print by blackberry in that particular case it dont search any device ....i dont what it means. I have post here 2 debug of same application
that search devices 2 times...in one times it dont found any device ...and in other case it show the device...the difference is i markout with bold in both debug console code.

I am trying to search my Bluetooth iPod touch gen 5 on my ipad3 I cannot find it. Please help.

Bluetooth on iOS devices is used to connect certain keyboards, speakers and headphones. It is not set up to connect two iOS devices together except for a few limited thing like photo beaming in iPhoto for iOS.

IPhone 4s Bluetooth searching devices ...

iPhone 4s Bluetooth not finding any devices including iPod touch. Just sits there "Searching ...No other bluetooth devices can see iPhone. Any ideas?

Cannot establish Bluetooth connection between iphone4 and ipad2

I have an iphone4 which cannot connect via Bluetoooth with ipad2, even though I tried all that is said in Apple support , but still no success. Really cannot understand as my iphone4 connects to a Bluetooth ear piece which is of different make and these 2 piece's are from Apple but cannot establish a connection via Bluetooth. It's surprising. So please help and advice.

The iPhone is not designed to Bluetooth pair with a computer or an iPad except for personal hotspot (sharing the phone's cellular internet connection). Bluetooth recording on iPhone4

Hi,
Does the iPhone4 allow the recording of voice via bluetooth?
I'm looking for an easy way to use my hands free bluetooth earpiece and record my voice (and ideas) into the iPhone.
It'd be wonderful to be able to do this sort of stuff so I can later transcribe them.
Anyone doing this now or know how to actually it - is there an app for that?
Any help would be wonderful

Using bluetooth printer with Iphone4 IOS5.

Is it possible to connect to e.g. Canon Selphy 780/800 from the iphone?
I'm doing a lot of scrapbooking and want to be able to print when I am travelling to update some of the projects I do. I have seen both the popo printer and the Canon Selphy printers which both uses bluetooth from mobile phones.....but does anyone know whether it will work from my Iphone?

many printer makers make their own printing apps and put them in app store for free look for a printer app from canon in app store to see if your printer is supported
