  • RC communication security

Hi people, I need some help with RC security. I need to secure the communication over the RC, does anybody know how to do that? Some code samples would be perfect. Thanks

There is one system which is site for search, sale, light box and so on images, video and music.
There will be interface which will comunicate(search, download, may be sale and so on) with other systems on the base of XML. May be the other systems will use Web services, i don't know now. How ever when there are requests for download(or even may be sending credit card details to other system, if the sale must be made trough their system, not our) then i need secure communication, may be encrypted xml or SSL. BUT i don't like the idea all requests to be https, because they are slower and this will cause slower search, which must be fast.
My idea for now is when an image from other system is bought to persist it in our database with may be user id, image id, system id, random string code and when logged in user requests download to check this in the database and if there is such record to allow download.
Advise some better ideas please :)

  • Inter Applet Communication Security Issues

    Hello,
Given that applets, contained on a card, can communicate with each other: Has anyone found any articles relating to any possible security issues this feature may present?
If you have any ideas on possible security threats, please share. It would be great to bounce some ideas around, no matter how radical, unusual or "done to death."
    Thankyou in advance,

I found a very interesting article regarding this subject written by Michael Montgomery and Ksheerabdhi Krishna, Austin Product Center, Schlumberger.

  • Is it the right way for a secure communication?

    Hi,
i'm trying to implement secure comunication between sockets.
At the moment i have an object Message that has a member object "content" that is the information to transmit.
I use the socket.writeObject method to send the Message object.
Once receiver get the Message, use getContent() to retrieve the information.
I encrypt content with prv key of sender and public key of receiver (RSA). Receiver then use his prv key and the sender pub key.
    The comunication works.
Now i wish to put the digital signature verification too. But i can't get the benefits of using it. I mean, if i try to modify some byte of the encrypted content, when receiver try to decrypt it, it already throws errors...
Plus, if i decide to implement it, should i put it inside the content? or setting it in another member object of Message would do the job too? Moreover, should the sign be encrypted with sender prv and receiver pub keys?
I read articles and implementation, but they are all quite different and i'm quite lost.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

SSL uses RSA. You are trying to re-invent the SSL wheel and would do better to use SSL because it's security has been fully analysed. If you really do need to re-invent SSL then Google for the SSL/TLS specification so you can see how it should be done. Be aware - making the communication secure without using SSL is not trivial.

  • Feature Requests beyond BlackBerry OS10.3.1

So, with 10.3.0 and 10.3.1 now officially released on the Passport and Classic, let's look forward!
What feature request(s) would you like to see included in future updates, say OS10.3.2 and beyond? Of course, there's nothing official to this thread, but one never knows who might view it and get an idea or two to move foward.
Please post your feature request below, and let's make sure BlackBerry has a good reference point for user-input on what we'd like to see.
Let's simple short statements AND please add the value of your request (i.e., why that feature request has value to you):
Ability to lock the volume keys (since they are so easliy pressed when retrieving from holster)
Implement a shutdown confirmation screen to the top edge power key before shutting down (many pocket carrying users complain of device shutdowns in their pocket).
Allow BlackBerry Protect to automatically backup and restore personal data, such as contacts (I trust BlackBerry to protect our data and other third party apps can do this already).
**This thread is not for bug reports (i.e., the calendar glitches when I set the date) or for debate or discussion of the worthiness of a feature request.
So, what would YOU like to see beyond 10.3.1?
    1. If any post helps you please click the below the post(s) that helped you.
    2. Please resolve your thread by marking the post "Solution?" which solved it for you!

Cool! I was waiting for this, there are a few things I would like to see.
    OS
    - No frames option (for the people that want this), this means that you swipe up it will never go to a active frame
    - Keep swiping to close, when you keep swiping up it will close the app/frame (like on playbook I think it was)
    - Auto reboot, choose a day, time when your phone restarts (and unlocks after reboot) this is nice for people that want their phone to reboot when they sleep so they have a fresh start and don't have to reboot during work day
    - Alternative keyboard, everyone knows the BlackBerry keyboard is awesome.. but allow developers to create own keyboards (native, no android port)
    - Themes, One reason why people jailbreak iPhone or use Android or loved BBOS. Themes that will totally transform your phone, keyboard, colours will be nice for people that want to customize their device
    - Font type change, this was possible in BBOS. Some people like to have a different font.
    - Completely light OS, this is something personal; some people like dark theme, some people like light.. but with the latest BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 it is still mixed up, some parts are light some parts are dark. When selecting light theme everything should be light, all core apps, buttons, everything, when you select dark everything will be dark, and then there will be a customize option where you can set it for each app (core apps and layout) how you want it
    - Show date, time, signal always on top-option, Remember.. screenshots on internet are shown a lot, when posting a screenshot of a BlackBerry 10 app nobody knows its BlackBerry, with BBOS you always had time, signal, on top people knew it was a BlackBerry and would be nice to get this back, plus no need for swiping up to see the time
    E-mail
    - Able to create filters, example move e-mails from this person to this folder, and give them this colour or move everything with this word in header or subject and delete it forward it and more.
    - "Out of Office", able to set out of office for work emails / accounts as automatic reply
    Hub
    - More colours, now there are only a few
    Keyboard
    - Emoij button on the keyboard (including special characters)
    LED
    - More led colours and settings
    Cloud, Sync and backup
    - Create backup from your device instead of BlackBerry link and backup them to any cloud storage (or blackberry cloud)
    - Sync bookmarks and settings with your BlackBerry ID
    - Sync remember with your BlackBerry ID
    - Sync Wi-Fi networks and passwords with your BlackBerry ID
    - BlackBerry Cloud storage (5 or 10GB free and pay for more?)
    Blend
    - Webblend access your phone from a secure BlackBerry website so you don't have to install any program on a computer you maybe will only use for one day.
    BBM
    - Multiply login, access BBM on more devices (including a web version) at the same time
    - PIN transfer, take your BlackBerry PIN to your new device. I really liked my old BB pin but when I sold the device I lost it, it would be nice to be able to "keep" my BBM pin or get a personal pin
    - Add user my phone number if linked, BBM Pin is awesome but allow users to also add people with phone number so you can give your phone number or pin If my contacts get BBM but forget to give their pin they will just show because I have their phone number
    Device

  • Encrypt communication between SharePoint Web App and SSRS

    Hi
I have SharePoint 2010 in multi server farm. The SharePoint web app has SSL enabled. The Reporting Server (SSRS) is http URL.
So when the Report Viewer web part is used, the communication between SharePoint web server and SharePoint Reporting Server is unsecured. The existing SSL has hard coded hostnames and for business reasons we prefer not to modify it.
Does anyone know how can I make that communication secured? Do I need to apply new SSL for SP Reporting Services? Is there any other option?

This should get you off and running on SSL

  • Problem of Japanese Imput in Blackberry OS 10

I am Japanese and bought Blackberry passport.
This is great smartphone and I love it!
Hoever, there are so many problems when I type Japanese word by Blackberry 10 OS.
JAPANESE input and conversion is not smart and there are so many miss conversion (Romaji-> Kanji).
I have some suggestion to improve this problem:
    1. Use Google Japanese Input
Google Japanese Input is great Japanese Imput software and it is free software and open source!
(mozc is open source verion of Google Input.)
Use this code and bult new Japanese Imput  for Blackberry 10.
    mozc
    https://code.google.com/p/mozc/
    2. Allow to use android's 3rd party Japanese imput software
There are some good Japanese imput software such as ATOK and Shimeji
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.justsystems.atokmobile.service&hl=ja
    Shimeji
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adamrocker.android.input.simeji&hl=ja
Allow to use this kind of software on Blackberry 10.
Now, Blackberry is not sold in Japan, However please do not forget that there are many blackberry fan in Japan.
We are looking forward to improving Japanese imput in Blackberry.
    Thank you in advance~

  • REMOTE BACKUP & RESTORE on BlackBerry Protect for BB10 operating system ?

Does anyone at BlackBerry or anywhere else know if BlackBerry will introduce for the BlackBerry Protect on the operating 10 system, the >
REMOTE BACKUP & RESTORE feature as is available on the BlackBerry Protect on the
    operating 7 system ?
This is a vital secure cloud backup to the BlackBerry servers and was used by millions of BlackBerry customers on the BlackBerry Protect on the BlackBerry operating 7 system, but it was not included by BlackBerry on the BlackBerry Protect on the operating 10 system.
This is vital and needed most urgently so we can do secure and reliable cloud Backups and Restores from our BlackBerry 10 devices to the secure BlackBerry cloud servers.
All other third party applications to download and use as an alternative, simply do not work and are not stable or reliable or safe or secure.
This was the only totally safe and reliable and secure cloud Backup and Restore and BlackBerry must bring this feature back as either an update or as a new download, but it must be introduced in to the operating 10 software.
Please can anyone at BlackBerry or anywhere else tell me if it will be on the operating 10 software in the near future ?
Also BlackBerry must bring the ( SELECT ALL ) feature to its operating 10 software.
This was a vital feature on the operating 7 software that has also been left out.
This feature is vital when wanting to delete or transfer ALL files in a stored location on the phone or SD card.
If you have for example 100 songs or pictures or documents saved and you want to delete all in one hit, then you would just go in to that folder, for example, just the picture folder if you want to delete all pictures and then you would press >
( SELECT ALL ) and all the contents of that folder you selected would be deleted, in the same way, you can also click on > ( SELECT ALL ) on the contents of that folder to transfer those contents in one hit using Bluetooth to another mobile device or computer.
At this moment when you use a BlackBerry 10 device, this feature is not there and you need to go in to that folder and manually select each and every item that you want to delete or transfer, one item at a time, which is very time consuming and frustrating.
Does anyone at BlackBerry know if this >
( SELECT ALL ) feature will be available for the BlackBerry 10 operating system in the near future in a software update ?
    Can anyone please help ?
Any information on my above two issues ?

I know BlackBerry is working on their cloud service but no word on when or just what they will offer in the future.
As for "select all" that would be nice but haven't heard anything about it coming. It's not in 10.3.1.

  • Web Service communication through HTTPS

    Hi Experts,
I have created a web service for my offline interactive form. The connection works fine if I give Communication security as "None" in transaction SOAMANAGER. But it doesn't work if I give HTTPS as Communication security. Will adobe forms work with HTTPS connection using web service?

  • Quick question about SAP Security analyst responsibilities

This question was posted on another site and I was asked by the moderator to  cross-post it here:
On another discussion forum, the topic of the SAP Certification program came up. In the discussion thread, there was some debate about the subject areas tested on the exam for SAP security, so I am putting the question to you.
At your current workplace, which of the following, if any, are responsibilities/ expected competencies of your experienced SAP Security analysts:
    Encryption
    Single Sign-on configuration/ maintenance
Network topology (SAP router and web dispatcher)
    Operating system (SAP gateway)
    Database security
    J2EE
To categorize the responses, it would be helpful to know if you consider yours is a relatively large SAP support organization or not.
Thanks in advance for your responses and comments.
    Regards,
    Gretchen Lindquist

    Hi Gretchen,
I am a consultant so have a slightly different perspective than an end user.
A typical client security engagement for me will involve 3 or 4 out of those competency areas and on top of that: secure communications & secure application (what I know and love as roles & users, some of our friends will refer to that as secure coding).  In general, security administrators at my clients focus on roles & users and their competencies are only in those area.  That is the same for small (<500 users) and large organisations (>20k users)
In my opinion this is one of the problems with our industry and in particular with individuals who consider themselves SAP Security professional.  It is no secret that the wider security industry often views SAP Security practitioners as a bit limited in skills due to the lack of understanding of infosec basics.
SAP security is not just roles & users, SoD's & SU53's.  They are an important part of securing SAP but only a few of the components.  As you have pointed out in the competency areas SAP Security is about the environment in which the SAP system resides and operates and our need is to ensure the C,I,A over those systems that support business processes.
As an employer I expect a SAP Security professional to have understanding of all of those competencies (and a few more).  In the same way that GRC is much more than a tool provided by SAP, SAP security is a holistic subject that by necessity covers multiple subject areas.
Regarding expectations of a security analyst, I expect them to be able to understand the wider security environment around their system and to be comfortable talking about things like comms security, SSO, secure programming (the basics), OS, network topology and DB security (the basics).  Most importantly they should know how they work together to form the security environment and where the dependencies or touch points are between them.  It's not unreasonable for basis and technical teams to perform much of the work in these areas but that is not to say that "out of sight is out of mind".
I don't hide my views on the inadequacy of the certification process in it's previous incarnations.  SAP is doing great work to improve this which is a positive step.  What is critical is that a demonstration of competency (e.g. certification)  in SAP Security covers the whole subject (or as much as practical).
If people want to break the topic down then that's great but resulting certifications should be pointed out as what they are e.g. Certification in role & user administration.
I hope there is something in there to provoke thought & discussion!
    Regards
    Alex

  • Built in Mail application - GMail - secure?

    Hi All,
I'd like to ask if I use the built-in mail application with the built-in Gmail account; If I connect to an open (unsecure) WIFI, is this communication secure? Does the built in account uses any security feature?
Basically is it safe to use it on open WIFI connections?
    Thanks
    Gergo

However, if the phone is using SSL/TLS (encryption) over an open/public Wi-Fi network, then the data is not going in clear text.
Google supports it for GMail, but I'm not sure if the iPhone does.

  • Integrate BlackBerry and CUMA by Wifi ?

I need to build a demo to our clients, and this is our stage:
    CiscoUnifiedMobilityAdvantage 7.1.3
    ASA 8.1.2
    BlackBerry 8900Bold (with Wifi)
Our problem is that when we downloaded the OAR File we can't find some software compatible with the gsm network (Argentina), and I'm thinking install "Cisco unified Mobile communicator" in Blackberry and integrate it with CUMA by Wifi, because I'm inside the network and this is only for demo purpose.
Can you say me if it's posible integrate Blackberry with wifi and Cisco Unified Mobility Advantage out of gsm network ?
    Thanks a lot !
    Best Regards
    Leandro

We have CUMA set up in a lab environment with a wireless network simulating the Internet and ASA as the TLS Proxy. We have CUMA working with a Nokia smartphone over the WiFi, but the blackberry just does not want to work.
We are getting an error when trying to launch the application: Certificate Error. A valid certificate is required. App will now exit.
