Merging Two JSF, ADF BC Web Applications into One...

My question is directly stated in the subject. What would be the best way to take two JSF, ADF BC web applications written by two developers and merge them into one web application. Any place to start would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Steve I wanted to try this method out first. I ran into a problem. I get a "HTTP 404 Not Found" error in the browser. I'm running this from the embedded OC4J in JDev. Maybe I don't understand how the context roots are referenced by the OC4J as they relate to testing this on my local machine.

I'm sure I'm referencing the location of the pages incorrectly, but I'm not sure where to look to fix this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Although the thread is old, but it provides about the types of contents you would need to take into consideration while merging.
With the knowledge from the above thread, you could use refactor option in the JDeveloper menu to move the contents from one project to another.

How to integrate BeX Web Applications into Solution Manager

I am integrating the BeX Web Applications into Solution Manager. My Scenario is to add a button named 'Support' wherein when I click the button it should take me to the solman BSP Page. I have saved the two templates - oadhoc & 0adhoc_table by making it 'Z' and added a button in Zadhoc_table. but when I click the button it is not picking the values of an object from the first template.

Integrating a Java web application into the SAP NetWeaver Portal

Hello experts,
We have a requirement to integrate a Java based web application into the SAP NetWeaver Portal using iView/iFrame technology. The Java based web application is completely independent from the SAP environment but should be displayed as part of the SAP Portal environment. The other requirement is the main navigation menu for the Java based web application should be configured and provided in the SAP Portal.
Any pointers on how exactly this can be done would be of great help.
Also how can the SSO (Single-Sign-On) to the Java application be implemented so that the user can logon to the java application through the portal without providing the user credentials again.

I think you can use URL iviews to integrate your java web application with EP. you have the option of doing SSO with the application as well.

I managed to run "wls_jumpstart" but I am unable to start the console even though I have created a domain.
I cannot find any instructions anywhere about deploying ADF Fusion Web Apps on Amazon EC2 Weblogic or any case studies of success anywhere.
Hence, I am not sure if ADF Runtime is available on the Weblogic on Amazon EC2. Can you please help me in this area as well?
It will be great if you can point me to some instructions on how to load web apps to Amazon EC2 Weblogic as I am quite new to both JDev and Amazon EC2.

Integrating different webdynpro applications into one

Wanted some insight on a situation where 4 different applications were developed as a part of one project but the catch is , every part had different package names and references,
now to integrate it ,into one webdynpro app(project), we are using Server Side eventing ,making one a master component and the others embedded , and it is working fine ,after included in the viewset ,
1 Is there a less cumbersome way to integrate in such a situation ??
2 is there a golden rule ,in future to follow , to develop applications separately to be integrated INTO ONE PROJECT ?

u can use an interface controller to combine all the applications into one.keep the the view that u want it to run at the start of the appln as ur parent and rest as the child and do all ur events within ur Interface controller.

My Bosses iPhone is merging different contacts with the same firstname into one contact. How can i resolve this? He seems very disturbed and thinks i don't know what i'm doing. I've set up all his devices to sync across and now its messed up on his iPad, and two iPhones.
E.G Contacts with firstname 'Adams' and different numbers are synced into one account.
Now i have no clue how many contacts are this way cos he has a huge number of contacts (he's the ceo).
Please i need a suggestion on how to fix this.

2 Web Applications on One Cloud Service

Hi,
I know there is information out there on this because I have come across it before, but unfortunately I cannot find it now so I will ask the questions here. I see a post about running applications on different ports within a cloud service, I am not sure
if that is the same thing that i am talking about.
Anyway, here is my question.
- Can I run two web applications in one cloud service?
- If I can, is it possible to update each web application separately or do I need to do a full deployment each time one of the web applications needs to be updated.
- If I can, is it possible to have two different domain names for each web application within the application?
If all that is possible, how do i do it? In Visual Studio, do i just right click my solution and click add new project, and then just deploy.

Yes, you can run multiple web applications on a single web role.

About deployment, you wont be able to update your web applications individually as you will need to upgrade your entire service with deployment package.

Data Managers from all applications into one unique package

The issue is that we are trying to put all the Data manager packages in all applications into one unique package.
If BPC admin changes the parameters or currency rates , he just has to run that one package which includes all necessary
packages and he may look into logs if he has to.
Firstly , We tried to put multiple run_logic process types into one process chains, but it is giving errors like;
u201CAn exception with the type CX_SY_TABLE_KEY_SPECIFICATION occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in
a RAISING clause Line Type Contains a Component with the Name FI_ACCu201D
or

The system tried to insert a data record, even though a data record with the same primary key already existsu201D.
Secondly, after we read the blog () and we tried to run program
UJD_TEST_PACKAGE , but we get errors with %SELECTION% prompt variable.
Is there any other solution you can advise?
If we use the program UJD_TEST_PACKAGE how do we fill AnswerPrompt paremeter file for the dynamic script below?

Hi. I have a similar issue to the one posted below in that I want to run a logic script for one application (call it Application A) from a DM package in a different application (Application B). This is to stop the user from having to switch between applications to run the logic.
I have tried the following:
1. I have tried putting the script logic from App A into App B, but the dimensionality is different so it fails to validate.
2. I have tried "hard coding" the application name within the process chain, but it fails with an error "u201CAn exception with the type CX_SY_TABLE_KEY_SPECIFICATION occurred ...." similar to the post below.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Secure and non-secure access to the web application in one war

Say we have one web application (in one war) which includes JSP, servlets and the security intercepter. There is one business requirement to have most of the JSP(s) accessed via HTTPS, but a few JSP(S) accessed via HTTP.
My questions are:
a. Is this possible, or a reasonable requirement or a good practice?
b. if yes, what can we do to make it happen in the security intercepter implementation?
c. If not, what is the technical reasons?

a) Yes its is reasonable and good practive, there is an overhead using https, so you should only encrypt file you need to. When you use an online store, only account details / payments are https, the shop itself is http
b) I dont really understand your difficulty. You can define a folder as 'secure' and put all your secure pages in this folder, leaving non secure files in a different folder. Whenever a page in the secure folder is accessed, https is automatically invoked.

To clarify, I want to be able to make a flie I can take to a photo printing place (not for my own printer) so they can print it and I crop it. The place I used to print at used to print an 8"x12" for the same price as 8"x10" (now they may only do 8x10 and I would need to keep the ratio the same so it would be two 3.3"x10" pics on an 8x10"). 1. Lets create one Fusion ADF Application;
1.1 ViewProject_One
1.2 ViewProject_Two
1.3 Model_Shared
One index.jspx in each viewProject and one adfTable targeting the same AppModule ( here I tried also to create a second appModule extending the original )
When we run ViewProject_One it works ok;

My question actually was not about compile time dependencies, but about run-time dependencies between two projects app1.jpr and app2.jpr.
First project has J2EE context root /app1 and the second one has context root /app2.
First project runs as http://localhost:8887/app1/login.jsp where user can login. After successful login it renders page with link to the page in the second project, e.g. http://localhost:8887/app2/welcome.jsp
When user clicks on this link it is supposed to transfer control to the second web application app2.
The problem is the first root context does not recognize the /app2 context. Only if you execute second project first it will start in its own root context which is /app2, but then it is not possible to use application app1, which must be executed first!?
I guess application.xml, orion.xml, web.xml etc. must be configured but don't know how

Calling SOA composite from ADF BC web application by cretaing Data Control

I have deployed my SOA composite on a stand alone server .I have a ADF web application and I hace created a WS data control using the URL of WSDL of the SCA (got it from EM Test page).I have created a jsf page and have created input/output parameter .Now as soon as page loads it gives error in processing Security header. I go and check the policies tab there is a global policiy wss10_saml_token_service_policy that has been attached to the SCA .it cannot be removed(there is no disbale option). Now I try to override it using no_authetication_service_policy but it satrtas giving error .My question is this sca when tested by Test webservice button works fine so this means behind the scene it is sending some username and passsword in the soap request what is that userna me and password how to find that.Because I hope if i Get that then may be whiel creating the Data control in ADF web applciation I can give that username and password as endpoint authectication values and it should.Request some one to please advice what needs to be done for this.
